Trying to order for delivery or pick-up was a problem because they were not answering their phone and their system was apparently not recording incoming messages, so they were not receiving or returning calls. This restaurant is inside the Cambria. It is remarkably good for a captive restaurant in a hotel. Breakfast and lunch are all I have experienced and these were very good to excellent. This place was a complete scam. To start off, the calamari serving portion was way to small. There wasn't even enough for a family of 2. The lobster bisque was served on such a huge plate, but only had the smallest portion possible. The seafood pot pie seemed as if it was made in the morning and was microwaved last minute. The kids mac and cheese was straight out of the box Kraft mac n cheese. The waitress kept getting side tracked and probably took forever to take our order. My husband and I tried this place because it was rated high on Yelp. It is right off the lobby of the hotel and next to the elevator for the swimming pool. It's an odd location and the decor was hotel-like. They had a large selection of beers and wines on the menu. Our server, Diahn, was fantastic! We began with the hot crab dip, which was ok. The pita chips were delicious! The server offered a sample of the white clam sauce for the Pappardelle Fruit de Mar, which was delicious, so I ordered it. My husband had the 6oz Filet. The food presentation was great, but unfortunately the meals were underwhelming. The pasta had scallops, shrimp and a whole lobster tail, but the pasta was dry and overall flavor was bland. My husbands steak was perfectly cooked but didn't have much flavor either. I've been a patron at this establishment multiple times. This one time decided to bring a couple friends, arriving to the hostess stand. In front of us was one woman asked to be seated the host offered a seat at the bar AND actually a five top! With us behind we were bewildered why he would offer that. She took it because it was offered, why would he do that when he saw the 3 of us directly behind. I asked him how long he said at least 30 minutes to an hour. This is about common decency for a patron and he failed to do that especially when he starred me down instead of walking over to the woman and explaining the situation. It's about going above and beyond they don't do that here. read more

This is the BEST restaurant we have found in Traverse City. We have been coming up to TC for many years and so glad to find a restaurant there that is amazing every single time we eat out. Last weekend we started with the shrimp appetizer that was in a refreshing grapefruit honey sauce, the shrimp were perfectly cooked and the sauce was so good we asked for bread to soak up what was left in the bowl it was that good. We also had the East Bay Cherry Salad with blackened chicken and seafood pot pie. The chicken on the salad was so tender and the seafood pot pie was out of this world! I eat here often. I am quite particular about the restaurants I ate at with so many to choose from I'm our area. I have dined in all of the fine dining places in traverse city and count Reflect among my favorites. The food is always well prepared and the portions are large. A half salad the other night was so generous that I took half home. I had the pork chop which was a thick but tender cut. . My wife had the maple glazed salmon and it was cooked to perfection. Fish is an easy dish to over cook and given that our two entrees arrived at the same time and needed different cooking times the fact that they were both done properly is a testament to the careful preparation in the kitchen. During this crazy time I ordered out from Reflect on many occasions, twice I had the calamari and contrary to another diner's experience it was enough for two of us to share. I preferred the kimchi prep over the peanut sauce one but that's a matter of taste. The quesadilla is again enough for two and as good as any I've had anywhere. A simple comfort food. The desserts are wonderful. I took home the pumpkin "lava" cake and enjoyed it the next night. The wait staff is friendly and very helpful if you have trouble making up your mind. The place was quite busy and because we were missed in our ordering the waitress had the chef send out a surprise plate of wonderful appetizers which included his tasty white fish dip. I have nothing but good things to say about Reflect. It used to be a hidden gem known to a few locals. But it has gotten lots of word of mouth and write ups in the local food publications so it's no longer a well kept secret. But I am glad the chef is making his mark in the already high quality food scene here. Okay place but nothing great. It's inside a hotel, right by the elevator without a closed room. Definitely not a cozy setting. The staff was very nice and helpful, the food was okay but definitely not great. They messed up my order, had to remake my dish and left my husband's under the heating lamp to dry out... my dish was so salty I still can't feel my tongue. If you're staying at the hotel, it's a nice place to have. If you're looking for a nice restaurant Traverse City I would definitely skip this one. read more

The server didn't have much knowledge of the food or drink menu and had to keep going back to kitchen and bar to ask questions. Nothing special. We were staying in the hotel and, after reading online reviews, decided to try the restaurant for an early dinner. It was a great choice! The online reviews are so right. We had wonderful service from Sky (and the other wait staff were equally friendly and helpful), the food was delicious (I had the Great Lakes Duo...whitefish & walleye) and DH had the halibut. We were both impressed with the service, the food and the general atmosphere, and we've both spent a fair amount of our professional lives in hotels and restaurants. All said, I would recommend "buyer beware" and check your bill! They say happy hour however without your consent they upgrade your booze, if you order the entre they add a 1/2 salad so it costs more!!!...You really need to be specific about what you want because they will not tell you; For example, we ordered an old fashion and for happy hour it included Jim Bean Bourbon however our bill said Makers Mark which cost more...we did not order Makers Mark! We ordered an entre and was served a 1/2 salad which cost $11 instead of a side salad which is $5....just make sure you understand what your are getting because the wait staff will NOT advise you and are less than honest! It was ok, the restaurant if off the lobby of a hotel, wait staff was attentive. As an appetizer we had the smoked whitefish pate, came with warm bread and assorted pickled veggies. The pate was not like most whitefish spreads (famous in the area) as it was chunks of white fish lightly mixed with cream cheese (so sometimes all you got was cream cheese). My wife had the seafood pappardelle and they accommodated her request fo a red sauce instead of the white cream sauce, although two shrimp, one scallop and no lobster was a bit disappointing. The calamari on top of the dish was overly salted. The Great Lakes Four seemed intriguing but was a bit of a disappointment. FIrst the food was warm at best, the smoked white fish cake was nice and smokey, the walleye was properly done but tepid and the lake perch was breaded with what appeared to be the same coating as the calamari and hence very salty. Restaurant was very busy for a Monday evening, a mix of local and hotel guests. read more

I gotta say.. that this little bistro has an excellent choice of high end food... I tried 3 different items.. the little tacos were filling to start with.. I had the oysters.. very good (the pickled onions were a treat) but the Greek salad was ok.. it could have been a little more greeky..(haha) again the pickled onions were nice. There was a more inexpensive side to the menu in a the event u didn't want to spend too much money. Over all... it was a nice experience, food & service was exceptional. No bad experience here. I'm generally not a fan of in- house hotel restaurants, but after reading positive online reviews for Reflect and checking out its menu, we decided to give it a try. We began with steak tartare as an app;. it.was bland, with no chopped onion, Dijon or other seasoning to cut through the fatty richness of the steak and egg. My main course was a panko- coated duo of whitefish and walleye filets, dressed with some kind of pesto aoli, on a bed of pearl pasta, roasted red pepper and artichokes, with roasted Brussels sprouts on the side. The flavors and preparation just didn't t make sense to me in the context of celebrating local fish, and the Brussels sprouts didn't really go with the entree. My spouse had a kind of elevated toasted cheese sandwich with prosciutto and fig; her toast was limp and greasy to the point of inedibilty. The only saving grace this evening was our outstanding, professional waitress, who was getting slammed and also had a "difficult" large party to contend eith. Our meal choices included: Motor City Fries, Calamari, Lobster Bisque, Filet and Scallops, Filet and Lobster, Filet and Crab Cakes, and Great Lakes Duo. In general, food here tended to be very salty even though I generally like salty foods. Other than that the food was OK but our service was poor. Two of us ordered well done Filets. One Filet arrived flatter than pancake. When we brought this to our servers attention, we were advised that we shouldn't have ordered the steak well done. Obviously, this was probably not the way to handle our feedback. The restaurant did end up comping the specific entree but it seemed more an after thought. Ambience was just off the hotel lobby with a view of the parking lot. I think you might be able to find better in Traverse City. read more
