Since my husband and daughter are definite breakfast people, I found this cute little spot on Yelp. We decided to stop here before visiting the 9/11 Memorial, and it did not disappoint. I love finding local places when we travel, and this one did not disappoint. It's a short walk from the memorial, making it a great stop before a day of sightseeing. The place is small (there is a little wait time for a seat) and a little loud, but the staff was super friendly and welcoming. My husband loved the French Toast with the ricotta and mascarpone topping. I ordered The Bowl, and it was fantastic. It checked all the boxes for my dietary restrictions while still being flavorful and satisfying. My daughter chose The Bagel and said it was just okay. The food took a little while to come out, but before we even had a chance to wonder about it, the staff acknowledged the delay and brought us a delicious almond croissant and coffee. Completely unsolicited and such a thoughtful touch. My only tiny complaint is that the eggs on both The Bowl and The Bagel were cooked a little more than we'd have liked. We were hoping for those soft, oozy yolks that make everything even better. Overall, a great find and a wonderful start to our day. read more

Wait: Because this is such a small spot, expect to wait a bit for a seat. After that, there is another wait for the menu and coffee then food. But if you're not in a rush and hoping to chat with company, it's fine. Food: We got the Rancheros and Rueben Benny. Both were really good. However, we did need to ask about the hashbrown and received it a bit later. We did ask for only 1 order but they gave us 2 accidentally so it ended up being $5 instead of $2.50 - not a huge deal but they were nothing special. I think they can benefit from using a notepad to take notes for sure. Portion size was slightly smaller than I'd like for the cost (I think $21/$22 each). Overall: Small spot and a bit of a wait but food isn't bad. They do have a bathroom. If you're in the area and have time to spare come in but prepare to be patient! read more

Great little restaurant if you're looking for a good breakfast spot. Stopped in before heading out of town. There was about a 15 minute wait which wasn't bad because the restaurant isn't really that big. The menu is in terribly big, which is pretty good because all the stuff on there is definitely worth checking out and it's also hard to make a decision on which one that I wanted.. I was with my coworker, and we opted to split the bagel and the ranchero. Food was excellent. Everything was tasty and full of flavor. Service was quick. Had Regular on my radar for a while now, and finally had an excuse to treat myself and give it a try! It was quite busy for brunch on a Sunday, but they luckily had a table open when I had arrived. Service was really friendly, everyone working there was quite nice. Food didn't come out immediately, but I didn't mind - meant it was freshly made! My french toast was solid, would give it probably a 4.5, with a slightly chewy crust but outside of that a solid dish. Pistachio butter was unreal and paired very well with the creamy cheese topping. The fruit was a nice touch too. Matcha lemonade was good, not overly sweet. Prices relatively expensive, but it's FiDi so to be expected. This is a characteristically tiny Manhattan space, but they have done the job of maximizing it. I arrived to a warm greeting and had ample options for brunch, and could have ordered something vegan if I wanted to. However, I went for their French Toast, which came with an abundance of fruit and a hit of thyme. It hardly needed the pistachio butter in the middle, but I appreciated the richness of every flavor. A strawberry matcha was more straightforward but a suitable compliment. While much of NYC is touristy, I did note that there were some regulars here. Food - I forgot the name of the dish I ordered but it had ranchero in it so whatever that one is. The brisket has chipotle peppers in it which gives it a balance of sweet and savory, and develops a harmonized flavor profile. The texture was tender, but I think the brisket wasn't extremely juicy which led it to not be the perfect tenderness. I also ordered the matcha but it tasted like milk with a bit of matcha sprinkled in, it wasn't bitter or sweet and felt like the drink had no identity. Service - service was great. The workers here are very friendly and the owner (or atleast the man I presumed to be the owner) was kind to me and my friends. Ambiance - the ambiance is a typical cafe/coffee shop feel but is also very limited in seating. Even with a reservation we had to wait a bit which is the natural limiting factor of having little seating. The only inhibition I have about this place is the small seating to customer flow ratio and the matcha being alright. There were very minor flaws overall and I would definitely recommend this place. However, for me to give somewhere a 5 star rating it has to essentially be the model of perfection, which is why I gave it a 4. read more

We stopped by this cafe on a rainy day looking for a cozy lunch and this place was fantastic. The location is convenient and the space is comfortable, yet not too small. The service was quick and friendly; we were seated immediately. Theres a good amount of seating for a smaller restaurant, however a large group may be difficult due to the space. There's one well appointed restroom in the back. I ordered a soup, which was the special that day, and it was delicious. My husband got the Ranchero, which was amazing. The owner (I think) dropped by the table for a quick chat and brought over complimentary pastries. Such a great addition to the FiDi area, and I'm looking forward to coming back. read more

I own a cafe in the west village and I can tell how much care, attention, and love goes into the craft here. The coffee roast profile is great and the baristas are great. Temperatures are always on point. My drink of choice ranges between a cappuccino and cortado. It's a smaller cafe but it's kept tidy by the attentive staff. The food was ok for my preferences. I came here for brunch on a Sunday. It was busy, but we were seated right away. The cafe is quite small, but they make good use of the space. To drink, I had a hot matcha latte. They offer whole, half and half, skim, oat and almond milk. I went with oat. It was tasty and perfect for sipping on a chilly autumn day. My partner got a chai and enjoyed the sweetness. To eat, I had the avocado toast. It typically comes with a soft boiled egg, but I asked for over easy instead. It was delicious. The feta and pepita peppers provided nice flavor and texture. The portion of avocado was generous. We asked for a side of their harissa hot sauce and it amped up the flavor perfectly. Ate every bite! Service was also fantastic. Friendly waitress. It's a small cafe with about 10 tables. Cafe has a community atmosphere. Crew member got our orders quickly. They offered various gluten and diary free dietary menu options. We ordered two dine in cafe latte, one brown sugar sweet pear blackberry oatmeal and soft-boiled egg avocado toast. The brown sugar pear blackberry oatmeal is very delight to look at. Sweet pear and blackberries paired with crispy almond slices with cold and creamy oatmeal was an absolute delicious combination. All ingredients are fresh and delicious. Cafe Latte tastes very smooth and creamy, roasted aroma lingered in our mouths. I loved the heart-shaped arts crafted on our Cafe Latte which demonstrated the professional skill of the Barista! These beautiful arts really amazed us! Food orders are so colorful and culinary presentation is excellent! Very attentive and tourist-friendly customer service. Overhyped. Sure, the workers are nice but the food is mid and there were mishaps during my visit. I ordered The Croissant with egg and a vanilla iced latte with oat milk. I've always wondered how servers memorize orders with a notepad/iPad...turns out this one didn't. She had to come back to confirm I wanted oat milk and then there wasn't any vanilla in it even though they assured me it was a vanilla iced latte. They had to bring me syrup on the side. As for the croissant sandwich, it was really nothing special. I've had better croissant sandwiches. The one thing I really did love was how crunchy and flaky the croissant was, but the organic egg I added was over hard. Who orders eggs over hard?! They didn't ask me how I wanted it so I assumed it would be over easy--a classic. Overall disappointed by this place given its current 5-star rating. Discovered the Regular last year while staying nearby and went several days in a row and then back today. Great service, comfortable seating and both the food, matcha, and coffee are high quality. It is a new coffee shop in FIDI that opened 5 weeks. It has some of the best coffee in New York and the food is great. I had a latte, which was silky smooth and beautiful latte art. I also ate a Rueben. The meat was tender and juicy. The egg was cooked perfectly. All the flavors mixed together great and complemented each other. I was pleasantly surprised to see this coffee shop is run by Alex and Sam, who were previously at InCommon (which is my go to coffee shop by my office in Hudson Yards). Alex and his brother did a great job starting InCommon 3 years ago, which his brother still runs. Sam is one of the best baristas in New York. Her drinks and latte art are top notch. Highly recommend. I am a loyal customer at InCommon and will need to make more weekend runs to Regular NYC. read more

Regular NYC may be my new "regular" spot! (No pun intended ) This small and quaint coffee shop in the financial district has everything from amazing coffee and teas to sit-down dining. I ordered an Americano and the avocado toast. Both were fantastic and generous portions. The Americano was so good, I didn't need milk or sugar! One note - this place does NOT have WiFi to work! The team encourages a coffee shop culture where visitors come in and interact with each other. In other words, this is a great place to meet with a friend for coffee, but maybe not a workspace.
