Stopped in on our way back home from So. Bethany Beach for breakfast at 10:00 on Monday morning. The diner looked clean and we were greeted and seated immediately. Ordered coffee and our breakfast order from a very pleasant waitress. Lots of tables were filled with families and the platters looked like nice sized servings. I ordered Banana Pancakes and started in on them as soon as the plate was put in front of me. Hubby ordered a Spinach Feta Egg White Omelet with crispy home fries. He started in on the eggs and remarked how good they were, THEN took a few bites of the hash browns and EEK...there was a cooked water bug nestled in between the fries. Needless to say, we picked ourselves up, stopped by the host and Hubby said, "there's an insect in my food and we are leaving". The man was said he was sorry, but I was already through the door with Hubby on my heels! I know that this kind of thing can happen, but Rehoboth Diner is now off our list of places to eat. read more

We stopped on our way home around 11:30 am on a Sunday and it was packed (usually a good sign right?), but it was truly pretty awful. My advice: turn around and go back to IHOP. The food came out very slow (over half an hour...isn't a diner supposed to be quick?) and was poor - the bacon was a weird brownish color (how do you screw up bacon?), the omelet used canned mushrooms and the cheese was nonexistent so it had little to odd flavor. The hash browns were doused in grease. The waffle was decent and the only redeeming item however the strawberries served to us had no joke, 6 "top" slices with the green stem showing so obviously we didn't eat those pieces. I lined them up on the plate and when the server came to clear, she said "I see the waffle was delicious" and I couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or not. Wasn't terrible, but probably won't visit again. My eggs, toast, and sausage were pretty good. Bacon was dried and had a weird taste. Hashbrowns were flavorless. Coffee wasn't good, but that may be because their water is metallic. read more

The food here is unimpressive and no flavor. It's sad, but true. When we asked the waitress what was good, she said that she's never eaten the food and now I understand why. We ordered the meatloaf and there was not even a hint of onion or any seasoning. It tasted like someone took a hamburger patty and baked it then ladled some gravy over it. Meatloaf is a favorite in our home but not at this diner. This place was dirty and they were using a vacuum while we were trying to eat the sad food. We stopped for lunch on a Sunday on the way home from OC after the St. Patrick's parade weekend. Breakfast is served all day so we got a veggie omelet and a seafood omelet special. Both were very tasty and came out piping hot. The veggie omelet had tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli and asparagus. The seafood omelet was filled with crab meat. The wheat toast had lots of butter, and the hash browns were crispy. Prices were good, and the service was fast and polite. Definitely would recommend for breakfast or if ordering breakfast all day. read more

I have never felt compelled to leave a Yelp review but I felt like I needed to do this as my duty to mankind to save others from this experience. I am 32 years old and this is the worst breakfast I've had to date. I am not a picky person at all and I love to eat, so to find something SO bad that I won't eat it really says something. I would rather eat a hospital cafeteria breakfast that's been sitting in the sun for two days. I ordered the two egg platter, which consisted of eggs (I got scrambled), bacon, toast and hash browns. I figured there's no way you can screw that up. There is NO WAY that those eggs came from a chicken. They were spongy and almost foamy ... They definitely came from a bucket. Even worse than this were the hash browns. They were freezer burned so profoundly that the cup of season salt that came on them couldn't even hide the flavor. They must have cooked a bunch of fish in the oil, saved it up for three months and then cooked my hash browns in it. I was able to stomach the thin sliced generic white toast soaked in butter as long as I slathered it with packets of jelly. The bacon was good. Honestly it seemed like they were trying to cut corners everywhere and serve the cheapest (to make) meal possible. The waitress was helpful and nice but complained about the staff the whole time and seemed to know she was working in a dump. Judging by the three cans of natty ice lined up in front of the drivers side of one of the lone cars in the parking lot, I think she was drunk and I don't blame her. This gets one star because a) it's impossible to give less and b) it was so bad that it was actually funny and my husband and I had a good laugh. read more

The waitress was pretty rude and seemed as if she had no real interest in us, I would understand maybe if it was busy in there but it wasn't too busy at all. Never again. That the interior signage said the diner was in "Rehobeth" Beach should have been a huge red flag, but we're apparently colorblind. We stopped here on the way out home from the beach, early enough on a Friday morning that our breakfast options were few. As we tend to choose independent restaurants over chains, we stopped here instead of Cracker Barrel or IHOP. Oops. Around 20 people were waiting when we walked in- had there been another open breakfast place on our side of the highway, we'd have left, but we decided to give it a chance. The "hostess" neither greeted us nor made verbal contact. We could clearly see there was a waiting list on the counter, but she never made an attempt to get our information before vanishing. Finally when a server came to check on something, he told us just to write our names down and that it would only be 10-15 minutes. Several people were leaving and we could see at least 2 open booths, so this seemed reasonable. In the 20 more minutes before we were seated, though, we watched chaos unfold. When tables were seated, servers were neither alerted to this nor were they given an order of seating, so those seated later were getting orders in earlier and vice-versa. One server had a total, arm-flailing meltdown over this just outside the kitchen doors and nearly sent an expediter's tray flying. Once we were seated, we couldn't help but notice that almost half of the restaurant was empty. A 30 minute wait was bad enough, but a 30 minute wait when there are 10+ empty booths? 10ish minutes passed before our server (she of the arm-flailing tantrum) arrived. We put in orders for seemingly foolproof items, fearing the worst. It only took 5 minutes to get our drinks and then another 15 for the food to come out. Well, most of it- "Sorry, I forgot your toast..."- the toast arrived several minutes later, ice cold. Sensing how things were going down (and watching others wait ages for their checks) we asked for the check when the toast arrived- the response was "OK, but I'm getting to you as fast as I can, y'know!" The food itself? Well, the ice-cold toast was the highlight. The hashbrowns had a metallic, almost chemical taste to them. "Scrambled Eggs w/ cheese" was interpreted as "pour a container of Egg-Beaters and throw a slice of processed cheese product on it." The bacon was at least crisp, but tasted like cardboard and I'm 99% sure the pancakes were at least reheated in the microwave, if not cooked there in the first place. To add insult to injury, I had to wait 5 minutes at the cash register for someone to come take my money. Never in my life have I considered walking out on a restaurant check, but this place made me briefly consider it. I'm sure I've had worse restaurant experiences, but none immediately come to mind. If you're leaving the beach, stop at Cracker Barrel instead. At least you know what you're getting into there. read more

My family ate dinner here on the first night of our weekend to Rehoboth Beach, and we loved it. I had the fried seafood platter, and it was excellent. The food was crispy and flavorful, and there was plenty of it for the price. The cream of crab soup was also very good, although it could have been a bit warmer. Our server was fantastic. Our first visit..after 30 years of going to Rehoboth, we finally tried the Rehoboth Diner because of the ad at the movie theater and also the Foodie Guy. It was an excellent experience. The food was fantastic, the quantities great and the price didn't break us. I don't know why people keep mentioning "diner food". My meal was high quality and tasted every bit as good as the meal I make at home. We will definitely go back. It's nice to know it's 24 hours and there are many things on the menu I'd like to try, plus it had a clean, cheery feel. I had the veal parmigiana which came with linguini or spaghetti. One thing I am very picky about is spaghetti sauce...their's was as good as mine and Maryland Crab Soup (my choice of soup or salad) was one of the best I've ever had; we also go free steamed shrimp. My boyfriend got the steak and cheese hoagie. The wait staff and hostesses were friendly and helpful. The restrooms very clean. Keep up the good work. We spent over $40 at a hole in the wall place called Go Fish, on the main drag up by the boardwalk the previous night. It was okay, very overpriced and I left dissatisfield.$15.95 for fried chicken strips and chips....a little ridiculous. Rehoboth Diner put this place to shame. My veal dinner was easily enough for two people and it was even good enough to take the leftovers home. read more
