I came to the salon for the first time after reading some of the more favorable Facebook reviews. I did question after reading the yelp reviews the distinction between the two. The traffic on coastal highway over the summer, as we all know, can be brutal. I phoned when I was five minutes away from the salon informing them I was going to be 5+ minutes late for my appointment. They thanked me and all was well. Or so I thought. I was reminded by my manicurist that I was late throughout my mani/pedi appointment and consequently seemed distracted and annoyed. She bypassed a hand massage, which is quite ordinary for a manicure. When I questioned, she responded, "Well, you were late!" (Yes, at this point the entire salon knows I was late!!!) Been here two times, the first time was ok, they got me right in. But the technician made my nails crooked. Went there a 2nd time they told me they were booked until next day so I made appointment, got my nails done the next day, two days Peter my nails broke . ONE NAIL. I just called to see if I could get in to have them fix ONE NAIL!! That broke 2 days after i spent $114 there... and the man who answered the phone was VERY RUDE, he said he couldn't get me in until 1pm to fix ONE NAIL!!!!?? its 1a right now, you don't have 10 min for 3 hours to fix ONE NAIL??!! Terrible customer service from Thao. My nails chipped 2 days after my SNS manicure and she would not refund me. I live in NC and she told me I had to be present to be refunded. Finally she agreed to send me a check to be refunded...that was over 30 days ago. Now she's blocked my number from the salon and told me she's going to report me for harassment. 1 star for being open and taking me. Every toenail was left crooked because the inexperienced tech didn't know she should change the angle of her toenail cutter. My feet were left in cold water. I had to ask for lotion and a foot massage...I got lotion. $35 is way too much $$ for something I could have done myself. Beware - as others have noted they overcharged me. They charged me $85 for a fill and a regular pedicure. I asked twice when checking out since the price for a fill was $35 and a full set was $55 (as posted right next to her on the wall). They were clearly charging me the full set price. Let me start off by saying I'm no amateur when it comes to nail care. I've been getting my nails done practically since birth so I know what's up. Being new to the area my group came here looking for a manicure and pedicure for each of us. When we walked in the salon didn't look real great but I figured they got god reviews so we'd try it out. We had appointments for 12:45. The first bad sign was the nail polish assortment. No organization whatsoever with gel mixed in with regular polish and all different colors grouped together. And they were so thick! When my daughter's tech applied her polish she thinned it out with acetone. So besides that they had me sit in the pedicure chair for 30 mins before they even started my pedi. My mom and daughter were started about 5 mins and 15 mins after we sat down. Really? Why even make an appointment?! After all this the quality of the work was just terrible. Polish was applied thick and unevenly and was all over my skin. The lady didn't even file my nails straight! They say online they are open till 7pm but when you get there the sign says 6pm. They took us for our pedicures even though it was 5:30 (which we mistakenly took as a good sign). They only had one other person in the store and still separated me and my friend on either side of that person.
