While trying to coordinate repair work for my condo association, I have been horrified at the lack of customer service and professionalism from many of Reid's competitors. I've gone with Reid twice on a residential condo building on the far north side of Chicago. The building was taking on heavy water which was starting to leak into the top unit. The first project involved repairing damanged masonry that was allowing water to get into and stuck on the roof, the second to replace the long-since damaged roof. Kevin and Andy were kind and easy to talk to. They helped to bring me up to speed and were generous with their time. The same goes for all of the employees who worked on the building. They did a wonderful job cleaning up when finished -- making sure to pick out any dry mortar that may have flung. I was recommended to them by a friend, and even another contractor. I contacted Reid a few months back for a roofing quote. Kevin came out quickly and gave us a very competitive quote. We were ready to pull the trigger and then the pandemic hit. Fast forward a few months and come June we were ready to get the project going. Andy was very accommodating at getting us in to their schedule, and being able to work around the full house repainting project that we wanted to do as well. I had all new gutters done by Reid about 6 months. Later I found out that they did not put flashing in the back area.I called Reid roofing and wait about a month did not see anyone come by. I called them again. They said the problem has been fixed. They lied. Water still get inside the house.I hired other company to check on the gutter....still no flashing. read more

This company is doing work on the building next to mine, my fence is damaged from falling bricks and there is also mortar on spots all over the side of my fence closest to where the work is being done. Also the workers do not even bother to sweep up the debris that is falling on my porch and in front of my house unless I say something to them. read more

New roof looks great. Owner's son (Kevin) came out to do the initial inspection and quote. This summer Reid did a complete tear-off and roof replace for our condo building and sprayed our exterior with brick sealant. Their work is fantastic and were very responsive and helpful from scheduling to explaining the process and the damage they found from the old roof. About a month later we had a new siding issue in a very difficult area to get to, we were worried it would be challenging to fix, but they were able to replace it and was impressed at how quickly. My architect friend, who uses them for his buildings, referred Reid to me and will use them again for all of our roofing and exterior building needs! read more

Made appointment to have my roof looked at for a leak and was told it would be about 20 days for them to send someone out to do an estimate. Not very reassuring when dealing with a leak every time it rains. Just a got a call today (appointment is still 13 days out) and was told they are too busy to take on new customers. Guess I'm happy for them that they are doing so well. But nice way to do biz. I'll be finding someone else. Which I could have done a week ago had I known before the forecast rain to come. read more

We used Reid Roofing for a roofing and masonry project for our condo building (4 story, brick façade and concrete block). The contractor that initially came out to evaluate the work we needed was very friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable with the scope of work and his expertise. He was able to explain what needed to be done and what was wrong very clearly - especially to us non-experts. They were able to work within our budget and still get everything that needed to be completed done for us. Their workers were very efficient and polite and made everything look great. They addressed some additional concerns we had on the spot and did not charge for additional labor. Scheduling could have gone better but, to be fair, there was a misunderstanding on our part. I would highly recommend Reid Roofing too all of our neighbors and friends and family. We will definitely work with them again. read more

We noticed last winter that the ridge caps on on our 20 Year old roof were sticking up. Contacted Reid Roofing based on good yelp reviews. They quickly sent someone over to inspect, told us only the ridge caps needed replacing, gave us a quote, and scheduled us as soon as the weather permitted. I bought a house last year that had the Roof replaced in 2011 by Reid Roofing and was under warranty. I contacted them a few weeks ago as there was water from the roof coming through our bathroom vent and we had water marks on the ceiling. My experience started fine as the company promptly came out and took a look. They told me it was no problem to fix and they'd do it within a week and would call to schedule. It then took 2 weeks and about 8 phone calls/messages from both my husband and I to get them to schedule our appointment and fix the roof. They were completely unresponsive and i basically had to stalk them to get them to come out. Then when the crew finished the job they literally just left my house out the back gate. They never told us what they did or that they were finished. They just left. I'm hopeful my roof won't continue to leak but based on the service of Reid Roofing i would not recommend them and just hope my roof holds up for the remainder of our warranty. read more

My relationship with Reid Roofing began around July 2016. I called other roofing contractors and they wouldn't bother with me because the job was so small. Reid was booked up but I was local (North Center/Roscoe Village) so the owner's dad sent a couple of roofers over to give them some over time and it took them a couple of hours to complete the job. My family and I then moved to a new home and it needed a new roof. We received around 6 estimates and Reid wasn't the lowest (Reid was 3rd lowest estimate)but Kevin came out and described in detail what they were going to do. The foreman Jose was awesome he kept me updated on what they were doing and all the issues that they encountered. We were pretty specific about the work we wanted/needed done- their rep listened and gave an estimate in writing for exactly what we wanted. Decided to go with Reid after their estimate came in lower than two other companies. We contracted with Reid, the crew showed up exactly when promised, the work was completed quickly and accurately. Reid very nice to work with, we would use them again and would recommend them if asked. They came out and did our estimate the day before the big predicted snowstorm to review the damage from the windstorm a few days earlier. They were able to come out early the day of the winter storm to beat the weather to ensure that we didn't have further damage from the snow. Superb! read more
