For Gel. Walk-in at 6 for a quick nail sesh. Asked how much it would cost. It was $35, but I guess its average in this area. After seeing their wide range of gel colors (mostly OPI & Gelish!), I was convinced that $35 was probably worth it. So I sat down. I will soon regret my decision. Nothing relaxing about my experience. The lighting was very "loud" and "harsh". The decor is very confusing. There is an uncomfortable silence, except for the chatter of the nail ladies in Vietnamese. During my experience, I asked for shorter squared nails. My nails were already perfect squared, so it's not like I'm asking her to reshape them for me. She probably didn't understand me, and curved my nails...either that or she just doesn't know how to square. BLAH! Oh and she also charged me for removing my previous nails without telling me before hand. Hey lady, you should tell me because not every nail place charges for that okay? When painting my nails, she placed the UV light on my lap. UNCOMFORTABLE! Anyway, the rest was average, the massage, the lotion, etc. Except the nail polish. It was unacceptably thick...with bubbles. GROSS! If I wanted an impression of the Hunchback of Notre Dame on my nails, I would say very good impression. But no, sorry, I just wanted solid one color gel nails. Not a mountain, or a hill on my nail. My total for the horrendous job was $43. NO! JUST NO! I could've went somewhere else with that money and got a better salon experience & design. read more

Unfortunately the horror stories are true. My rating is 2 stars only because Jenny does give a great pedicure. My SNS manicure is however, an absolute disaster. Mary told me the clear/frosty color would not expose the fake nail glued to my real nail. When it was exposed she offered to cover it with a different SNS color (a whitish pink- very pretty) and then my nails just became a blobbed, goopy mess. As she attempted to file them smooth she tells me "they're too thick because you added another color". I'm sorry, I added the color? When she finally got them as smooth as we could, the color on the edge of each cuticle was tattered and so uneven I wanted to cry. She offered to paint the nails in gel. I have pictures of the final result here. This person needs more experience with nails and customers in general. Now, not only do I need someone to fix this poor job, I will need gel removal in addition. The whole process was $80 and took 2 hours. I do not recommend any newcomers take a risk here. read more

You know the part in Legally Blonde where Elle is having a freak out and heads to the first nail salon she sees? Ya well, just call me Reese Witherspoon because today was one of those days and thankfully, Relaxation Nails was there to the rescue. As soon as I walked in I was shown to the OPI wall of nail polish heaven to choose a color and was seated quickly thereafter. Every chair is a massage chair which is wonderful! And for the super hygiene-conscious, instead of sharing the same tub that may or may not have been cleaned after the person before you used it, Relaxation Nails uses their own individual bamboo "tubs" lined with plastic that is changed out with each new person. They even put fresh little lemon slices in the water! The ambiance here is perfect; spa music plays in the background while a little fountain is constantly trickling away. Many salons I've been to have customers or workers talking loudly and over one another, but you won't find that here. As for their customer service, top notch. My lady was great! She was very sweet and made sure I had a wide selection of magazines near me, helped me decide on a color, and after the pedicure was over, she restarted my massage chair and told me to just sit back and relax until my nails were completely dry. She was also fast! But, not in a rushed, not paying attention sort of way. I mean it in the, "I have an hour lunch break and got back to the office in plenty of time" kind of way. And their prices are incredibly reasonable ($18 for a pedicure). They DO take credit cards, however they ask that you tip in cash (there is no tip line on the receipt), so be prepared with some extra one's to show your nail lady some love! When my daughter needed a pedicure and acrylics for her birthday party, we decided to stay close to home and try somewhere new. The place looked clean and Yelp reviews were decent, so we gave it a shot. Big mistake!!! My 15 year old left with a bleeding cuticle, a hair (that was not hers!) painted over on her ring finger, and the nails started falling off less then 24 hours later. Wtf?! Not worth $65! We would've done better going to Rite Aid and getting press-on nails. I encouraged my daughter to go back and get the nails redone, but she really didn't want another bleeding finger and crappy nail job. I can't blame her, but sure is disappointing. :/ On a nicer note, her toenails came out fine and blood/hair free. Hence the 2 stars. read more

I called ahead for appointments for myself and my coworker, although we probably didn't need to since it was the middle of the week. I used to love this place. Mary is good but if you get anyone else it's worthless. I told the woman who did my mani that I was missing paint on the sides of my nails, spots missing and cuticle just hanging. She said she would fix it then when she said she was done I look down and they are just as bad if not worse. Was very pleased with my pedicure from Marley today. She showed attention to detail, making sure that there were no stray bits of polish or smudges. And the leg massage she gave was wonderful!!! Yes, they do offer/ask if you would like additional services, but I felt no pressure. And I did appreciate getting the calluses removed - my heels are "baby soft" now. They normally close at 7 but I came in at 6:35 and they were in no hurry to close up. They just welcomed me and sat me down, they were very friendly. They have massage chairs so I was super excited. This was one of the strangest manicures I've gotten. First of all, they do your manicure in the pedicure chair, so you're sitting with your arm crossed over your body & turning the whole time, which gets very uncomfortable after a while. Secondly, the woman who did my nails was nice until I couldn't understand what she was saying and she raised her voice and snapped at me (very awkward). To top it off there were many spots on my nails where there was no nail polish and she didn't take my previous polish all the way off and you can see it really bad as they colors are completely different. I used to love this place. It's conveniently located, not too far from my house. Last night they did a very nice job, but their polish is old & goopy They keep pouring nail polish remover into it, but the texture is still wrong. My nails look awful - bubbled with no shine. The time before that, a new girl accidentally clipped a small chunk of skin off my toe. They act annoyed if you come in when they're not busy - just sitting around talking. Seems that communicating with the staff is ok until it is time to pay - then you can't understand what they are saying. Worse manicure ever!! Extremely overpriced. $40 for gel. Thought I'd try them anyway...wish I'd left after a few minutes. They filed most of the old gel off and then let them soak only a few moments. Cuticles were barely touched. New gel was applied so thickly... and all over the cuticle sides. It was a pale color, so I didn't notice right away. When I got up to pay, one finger was glued to the underside of the nail. She separated it and cut the extra off. I left, but went back about 30 mins later to show them how bad it was. They offered to "fix" a few nails but cutting and filing the cuticle edges. I wish I'd demanded a redo, but just wanted to leave. Now it is only five days later... the cuticles have separated and gel is peeling. Don't make the mistake I made going here. Wish I knew how to post a picture to show how bad it looks. read more

I called to ask how much a leg wax was. They quoted 35 for half and 45 for full. I went and had it done, and looked at the sign in their shop before paying which said the same thing. They went to charge my card and It came out as 80, not itemized. I told them that wasnt what I was told, nor what their sign says and why did they charge me double? They quoted it was because I had two LEGS!!! Really? I was so upset and told them that was't right of them. Esentially they stole money from me. I asked to speak with Manager for a refund but when I called she was never there. Really upset about this place, never going back. The staff is super friendly, efficient and they *gently* try to up-sell you on the add-ons to your nail work. They don't give you faces or clack their tongue when you tell them "no thank you" to the suggestion of callous removal (as I often get when I visit other salons). They work quickly, too. Love this place! Instead of the generic (hygienically questionable) tub-in-chair machines, they have comfortable massage chairs and separate adorable buckets which they put a clean lining in each time. The water has added product (making it a beautiful blue color) and usually lemons or limes in it, which smells lovely! They always include a massage for me (legs, arms and shoulder). The girls are very sweet there. They use high quality polish (OPI regular and gel). I messed a nail up and came in a day later to get a touch up, and not only did they not charge for it, the girl tried to refuse my tip - which of course I insisted on giving to her anyways, but it was so sweet of her to try to do it for free. :) read more

I thought this place was outrageously expensive. For a mani/pedi for a girlfriend and me - it was over $100 buck. Ugh. It took almost 2 hours for them to finish me (my friend had to leave at the 1.5 hour mark) and I actually left with my toes still wet and without a topcoat as I had to go anger my son from school. My search for a great nail place is over! Relaxation is the best! I've been looking for a place that does not have those bacteria filled pedicure spa chairs. Relaxation uses plastic lined bamboo buckets instead. the full body massage chairs (love the calf massage function) were wonderful. the mani/pedi was fantastic and the paint job looks great. relaxing instrumental music in the background (not KBIG) gave it a spa feel. i wasn't rushed to get out of a chair once my mani/pedi was done. they let me relax in their massage chair until i was ready to leave. price was comparable to other places that do spa mani/pedis. by far this is the best nail place I've found in the south bay! read more

I wanted so badly to like, and patronize this facility, as it is walking distance from my house, but I've had far too many negative experiences to ever return. Many of the polishes are watered down with acetone, hence they never dry and smudge later. Once the manicurist began to add acetone to the polish In front of me, so I switched colors, and she did it to that one too telling me repeatedly, it would be ok. After 15 minutes I could easily wipe the polish off with my finger. Her response was to get angry and jerk my feet around as she was removing the polish, until the owner finally came and took over. Once again, I carefully chose a color from their supply that wasn't watered down, and sat there while the owner repainted them. As of last week, at least half of the massage chairs and spa tubs don't work, many of them have not for more than a year. The prices are high and seemingly arbitrary. They charged my 9 year old $20 for a pedicure, no idea why. So, I'm done. read more

Overpriced! There is only one seat for Manicures, so be prepared to sit uncomfortably in a pedicure chair for over 40 minutes, and to have a light on your lap. The employees are not very careful or gentle. My skin was filed off on two of my nails, and when it started to bleed, acetone was used, because that feels really good on raw skin. Makes for some really nice scabbing. I would highly suggest going somewhere else and paying less for a more comfortable, cleaner, manicure, without the pain. *NOTE* you can only tip in cash and there is a $10 min for card purchases ( which you will most likely hit, considering the prices.) read more

I went in for a pedi. A staff member started and mid way thru my appointment another staff member finished my pedi. The problem was, the second staff member was sitting on the public bench outside the salon. She came in, didn't wash her hands, picked up the instruments and finished my pedi. I got a gift certificate for Christmas from my husband as we just moved to the area so how perfect to be able to walk for a mani pedi in your own neighborhood ??! The woman who did my hands painted crooked, did not get close to my cuticle with the polish and left the corners of my nails blank and even some of the previous coral polish from my previous gel mani was still visible !! I expressed my concerns as I checked out - and Mary ( who was very sweet ) agreed with the poor job I was offered by Mary for me to come back and she would re do them - no charge- which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 - because Mary saved the day as far as listening to the customer and trying to resolve the very obvious problem !! For me- it is never about the cost or the money- I just want it to look good when it is done!!
