I hopped over to this shop today with a friend to talk about a car I wanted to overhaul. The car's ancient, '95 Nissan with over 100K miles. The owner, Mr. Siddiq (he's a tough-looking man from Afghanistan) looked me straight in the eye and said, "this car isn't worth it", but after some cajoling and an honest explanation that the car means a lot to me, he worked with me to cover labor and help me source the parts myself for a good price. I went to a couple of other shops that wanted to charge me 3 or 4 times more for the same service. You can see from the number of certifications on the wall that Siddiq knows what he's doing, plus he has the serious no-nonsense look in his eye that makes it clear you're dealing with a certified G. P.S. If you're looking for a gently used car with great gas mileage, Siddiq is one of those "good ole boys" who has connections and has some great deals lying around. I went here when my 2007 Pathfinder was making strange noises. The Mr. Abdul was very polite with greeting me and keeping me posted on what was going on with my vehicle. Mr. Siddiq told me i had issues with all 4 brakes and rotors and some tire issues. Mr. Siddiq and Mr. Ryan Changed all 4 pads and rotors and i haven't had an issue since. Siddiq the owner even topped off my fluids and assessed my tires and brakes free of charge, letting me know I needed new tires soon. I came in to wheel bearing replacement for my front two tires and a right axle and CV joint fix. They told me that the right axle was still OK even though the CV plastic was torn a bit but the right rear bearing needed replacement. So I said go ahead an do that instead and it came out to a little less in cost by $30. They said I needed rear brakes changed so I said go ahead and do that. But some time through the process they said they didn't have the right brake pads and then had to take them off. Then they told me the right rear ABS sensor was broke and the sensor light was on. When I brought the vehicle in, the sensor light was not on. When they returned the vehicle to me they simply told me that the sensor light was on and that it was broken. What was the truth was is they broke it and did not tell me. They did not offer to fix it at the time which they should have done. They just gave me the vehicle and told me the sensor was broken. I brought the vehicle in at 8 AM and by the time they gave me it back it was 2:30 PM already past their closing time of 2 PM. The job cost came to over $1200. A couple of months later I came back to them with an ABS sensor to fix the issue. They then proceeded to install the sensor which I bought online but it did not resolve the issue. All they told me was that the sensor is not working. They then proceeded to charge me again for not fixing something they originally broke at $100. I got into an argument with the owner Siddiq telling him that this was not right. They are mechanics, i.e., car people. If the vehicle comes in without the ABS sensor light on and they break it doing whatever work they do, they are supposed to fix it. They did not tell me that they broke it. They just told me it was broke. They did not offer to fix it at the time even though THEY KNEW THEY BROKE IT. When I told them they shouldn't charge me now, the owner Siddiq Azim said I made him do extra work on this day when I should've told them to fix the issue on the original day that it happened. How the heck did I MAKE THEM DO EXTRA WORK on another day when they would've had to do extra work on the SAME DAY if they were to fix it? The hours of operation were already passed the time of closing and they effectively rushed me to get me out of there. In other words, they relied on my ignorance about vehicles to NOT FIX THE ISSUE AT THE TIME IT HAPPENED and are used that justification to NOT FIX IT later and so charged me additional labor for attempting something they still did not fix. So I took it to another auto mechanic shop and they told me there was likely nothing wrong with the ABS sensor I bought but they couldn't fix it because Reliance Auto Repair didn't align the hub correctly so that the ABS sensor could sit correctly in the hole and the notch in the hub. In other words, they broke the sensor and then put the wheel bearing on (which is a two hour or more job) with the broken sensor on. So it wasn't that the new ABS sensor was likely not working, it was because they would have to remove the wheel bearing again (another two hour or more job) to align it correctly so that they could seat the sensor properly and they didn't want to do that. So once again they relied on my ignorance and pretended the sensor was broken and still charged me. Unbelievable. And this guy's name is Siddiq which means "truthful". What a joke. read more

I am so grateful for Reliance Auto Repair. My Dad gave my son a 2003 Jeep Wrangler but the car needed work (replacement of rear differential, flushing of fluids, replacement of wipers, battery, etc.). My Dad uses Reliance for all his car maintenance needs. The Reliance team completely overhauled this car and worked their magic. It drove so well my Dad didn't want to give the car to my son! Their work seems to be pretty good. I've done a decent amount of work with them, replacing CV axles, replacing my A/C compressor and condenser, state inspection, etc. I recently went in for a routine oil change, where they also recommended a tire rotation (which I know I could use). When the invoice came, I was hit with a $68 total. They were charging me $39 for just the oil, and another $24 for labor. When I brought up the fact that their website, along with 2 different signs inside their shop advertise that their price for an oil change is $24.95, they tried telling me that is the "member" price. Bull. Nowhere online does it mention member pricing, nor do the signs. The signs say "our prices vs. competitor prices" - so you would expect to pay what they advertise as their price. They do have a membership program, but the pricing doesn't change - the benefits are 10% off of labor and free fluid top offs, things like that. I know it's not a huge price difference, it's not hundreds of dollars, but I have spent hundreds of dollars with these guys, and they just won't ever give you a break it seems like. Even when they're in the wrong, they won't do what's advertised. This is really disappointing - just when I thought I found a reliable mechanic I could trust.
