I did not have a good experience here. My skin was still red, irritated, and peeling days after the treatment. Worse, my aesthetician made remarks that made me feel insecure despite having healthy, clear skin. The use of fear and guilt to draw on women's insecurities about aging (and I am not old by any standard) to pressure them to buy expensive skincare products is appalling. Nino was excellent and a sweetheart! My facial was very relaxing. She was very attentive throughout. BUT - the front desk service is awful. No one told me where to check in. I waited on the same line as 15 other people who were buying products. I approached one of the staff. She said she will check me in. I sat around. No one came to get me. Finally I asked again - and the woman never checked me in. They took me in late but ended the session on time. While checking out the guy at the front desk seemed like he was in a mad rush. However there was no one else waiting on line. There are so many better spots in NYC. They have got to up their game with service. read more

I regularly get facials and have been for about 20 years now. I went to Rescue Spa seven years ago and have begun to go again recently. I HATE how they push products. During my first facial, the esthetician recommended several products- which is normal during a first visit. During the second facial (same esthetician) it was a full on push, and for products different than were initially recommended. She asked if I wanted microdermabrasion and I said "sure" assuming she'd be doing as a quick-add courtesy, which has happened at three out of four other locations I've regularly visited for facials. There was no mention that this was an 'upgraded' service and I'd be charged an additional amount. I recently scheduled another facial with a different esthetician. I hope her tactic is different. If not, I'll be going back to my previous location. read more

The staff was rude to me and did not offer much compensation when they cut my service short! I was stuck on the FDR due to traffic and late to my appointment, instead of rescheduling with me they still offered to do the service. They didn't tell me until I actually laid down that my service will be cut short. And not after it was finished then I realized my $200 60min rescue spa was shortened to 25 mins... they gave me a 10% discount but Rescue Spa needs to do better, if you can't finish the job don't half-ass it. read more

Lovely place to drop in for some repair- only thing that detracts from a five star experience is the people swarming the merch area, as if you're a shoplifter. I like to browse and take my time, and can't make a glance at anything without 2 or 3 people making sure I know they're there. It makes me feel conspicuous and mistrusted. Facials with Kass are the absolute best. She is a perfectionist in every way - in cleansing and extractions, applying products and advising on your at home skin care routine. I was debating between a 3 and a 4 - so this is really a 3.5 review. I insist on sticking with one facial place since I have been a 8+ year client with Rescue and I have been disappointed in many other places. However - I am beginning to lose my loyalty based on my last 3 facials here. Each time I am continuously sold on upgrading my facial while I am lieing down getting a facial. Two points here: please do not talk to me during my facial - it is my time to doze off and relax, and please do not tell me about the products as if I have never used them. The staff should see my customer history of what I have been using already and understand I am not a new one time client of theirs, this makes me feel unappreciated and not valued. Since Rescue is a luxury spa please elevate the customer service to luxury standards, not assembly line 'facial in, facial out'. The last time I went for a facial, which was last week, I was not greeted at the front desk either. Upon check out, there were people checking in at the same time and I was trying to make room for them and pay my tip at the same time - the front desk system of checking in/paying/check out needs to be organized more efficiently - it's chaotic and unwelcoming. The facial itself (products and my skin afterwards) was amazing - however the facial experience in the room and being talked to as if I was a baby was not amazing. I have rosacea and dry skin and found the Oxygen add on to be super beneficial. Erica was the estetician who took care of me and i HIGHLY reccomend her. I got the "fix it all" facial but my facialist wasn't exactly on board with fixing it all, in my opinion. It's advertised as providing microdermabrasion, but my facialist didn't want to do microdermabrasion on me because it is "summertime." I tried to explain to her that i know my skin and that i really wanted to have the microdermabrasion, but you don't really want to argue with someone that is about to work on your face. The remainder of the facial was fine but definitely not worth the $300. I honestly feel like my skin has been so oily since receiving the facial; i wish i could have had the microdermabrasion. read more

While I love rescue spa (it's clean and well designed and beautiful in there), this review is really for Kassandra who is one of the estheticians there. She's unbelievable. So good at what she does (literally has transformed my skin) - is thorough yet makes you feel relaxed. She's also very knowledgeable in what products you need but isn't pushy with suggesting things you don't really need to buy. I've never felt like she tried to convince me to buy things I didn't need just for the sale - she believes in a simple routine and makes recommendations that you'll really use and need. Please, whatever you do, do not shop online with them! Their customer service is awful. They lie to you, and then stop responding to you. They sent an order worth almost $500 to the wrong address without even requiring a signature for delivery. When I reached out to them, they told me (numerous times) that they will fix the shipping issue. Never heard back. Finally, someone called me back and told me that, in fact, they will not be doing that or offering a refund or replacement. Then they completely stopped responding to any of my emails. This was my first time getting a service done at Rescue Spa. I've been buying the P50 lotion from the NYC location for the past year and have always had a positive experience when it came to interacting with the staff. They were always super helpful, giving me free samples to test, and always offering free consultations. I was super excited when I received a gift card to finally book a facial, since they are pretty pricey (average for NYC). When I called to book an appointment I just asked for a facial, assuming since I was a new client, I would have a consultation prior to my service, and the woman on the phone did not specify or ask which one I wanted. On my way to my appointment (15 minutes before) I receive a voicemail from the spa saying my aesthetician no longer works here, and that they may not be able to fit me in. When I arrived and checked-in, I asked if they could still take me and the receptionist had a bit of an attitude and was a bit passive. They were able to accommodate me, however they just gave me a standard facial without even asking or giving me other options. The aesthetician was super friendly and the facial was average, but overall, my experience was not what I expected. Like I said, the facial was OK, I've had better at lower price points and overall, had higher expectations for Rescue Spa. read more

I thought I couldn't love rescue spa more than I already do! But omg the new location in New York is gorgeous! It is clean and bright and everything one would expect from a glamorous Spa in NYC. All of the staff is really friendly and attentive. The front desk staff was able to answer all of my questions about products and made scheduling my future appointments easy. Even though her facials are well worth the trip, I'm so glad that my girl, Diana, is with the new location and so much nearer. She is literally the most amazing esthetician! She knows exactly how to take care of her clients, making them feel comfortable and getting them results. Before I met Diana my skin was so congested and dull. I had a lot of problems with acne and scarring that was awful. Diana single-handedly saved my skin. Between the facials and the products she's recommended (especially P50 1970!!!) my skin has never looked better! On top of great facials, I'm so excited for their hair salon! one of their stylist (Lana? i'm sorry i don't remember her name!) took great care of me during my consultation and has great advice on how to take care of my poor dry ends! I really don't understand the bad reviews. The space itself is beautiful. I had eyebrow wax/tint with LIVIA, and I think she did a great job. She applied my tint, took it off to show me, and asked if I wanted it darker. Appreciated her doing that because other places just make it so dark, or get annoyed if you ask to go light check it and then decide to go darker. Super natural, and wax didn't hurt at all. Will be returning to her. Awaiting their addition of massages that the philly Location offers. Ladies at the front desk were nothing but friendly, and weren't pushy or try and up sell me, just asked if I needed any products or help picking out products. Appreciate and will return. read more

I stopped in on Sat to buy a lipstick. I didn't even realize that this is a full spa and salon! I started talking to Sandro, a colorist/stylist there, and mentioned that I was not happy with my highlights from another salon. He started telling me what he could do to correct it and he really seemed to know what he was talking about. Lucky for me he was available right then. He has just moved here from London. He corrected my color/highlights and he really DID know what he was doing! I loved my new hair. Sandro is also the absolute nicest guy. In addition to loving my hair I also love him! This is by far the best spa in New York. I had the "Fix-It-All" facial with Andrew recently and it was the best thing I have ever done for my skin. I have combination skin that goes haywire in the summer due to pollution in the city, and by mid July I was at my wits end. The treatment combined: a basic facial, microdermabrasion, a gentle peel, LED light therapy, and electric microcurrents. By the time I left rescue spa, my skin was the best it has ever looked: texture fixed, redness gone, pores clear, and blemishes magically wiped from my face. I have been to so many spas where eight products waited for me at the register and I was judged for not buying all of it. Andrew was not pushy with products at all! When the facial was done he asked if I wanted any product recommendations, and I said yes. Upstairs, he recommended a cleanser and a moisturizer, and only suggested a serum when I asked. He said to start with the smallest size, and to go from there. He was very knowledgable and subscribed to the ethos of "less is more". Since the facial, my skin has only improved. Due in part to the amazing treatment and also because of the great recommendations. I will be coming back for all my skincare needs and a more basic facial in the future (my skin looks so good I don't need the major overhaul next time). I'm sure all of Rescue Spa's services are wonderful, but their facials are the crown jewel. I first sought out Rescue Spa because they're one of the few spas that offer Biologique Recherche products, but I fell in love with Rescue Spa because of the incredible service and care provided. Over the past 4 months, Angelina has completely transformed my skin. Upon meeting Angelina, she immediately knew how to address my skin concerns, quickly recommended products to overhaul my at-home regimen, and then she gave me the most outstanding facial I have ever received (if nothing else, go for the face massage...amazing). After just one facial and the change in my at-home routine, my skin dramatically improved in a matter of days and continues to improve. During each follow up facial, we adjust my at-home routine as needed and she addresses any questions I have. The services and products are worth every penny. Notably, Rescue Spa has done an excellent job ensuring that clients remain safe during the pandemic.
