Maybe it's just that I was there my myself, and every other time I go to the one in Folly I have been with my girlfriend or friends or my kids, or the lack of a live band, and there is something just FUN about sitting around a big pot of steaming shellfish peeling shrimp and cracking crabs and prying oysters open, or maybe I was just worn out by the week and in a little slump from some personal stuff, or being inside in the winter instead of outside when it's nicer, but I just didn't feel the same "this is really nice" that I get in Folly. The crab leg cluster looked like it had been cooked more than once and it wouldn't come out of the shell. The fries were over cooked. Not sure what they marinate their steaks in or what process they use to cook them but it seems more of a roast than a steak. Couldn't even tell what cut it was. Just seemed like a restaurant on its way out. When we told the server we were going to share the meal we had to ask for an additional plate, and then she only brought an appetizer plate. Just as we suspected the service was minimal and not as engaging as before. The starter and salad was served simultaneously, then a large gap of time before the entrees arrived. This was a definite off night. But it was Saturday night, and they should have been fully staffed for this business. Unfortunately, this experience left us doubting a future return.

I was expecting a light drizzle, but there was so much that I only managed a few bites before I couldn't finish them. My friend ordered the Cuban and absolutely loved it. He cleaned his plate, so it seems the food can be a bit hit or miss. The biggest downside, though, had nothing to do with the food. There was some type of political or civic meeting taking place in the main dining room. I'm not exactly sure if the speaker was running for mayor or another office, but it wasn't in a private room. It was out in the open where everyone dining had to listen. I don't think it's appropriate to hold an event like that in the middle of a restaurant during regular service regardless of your political affiliation. Some of the things being discussed made me genuinely uncomfortable, and even my male friend commented on it. If the restaurant wants to host political events, I think they should either use a private space or close the restaurant to the general public during the event. The views and service were great, but the atmosphere that day was overshadowed by the speaker, and unfortunately that's what I'll remember most about my visit.
