We arrived for our reservation on a Tuesday night. The hostess held the door for us which showed what kind of place we were walking into! The restaurant was very intimate, there were only 3 couples in there including us and the staff were so attentive, professional, and helpful with all the menu items and specials. This is BY FAR the best service I've ever had in my life. Constantly filling our water and checking in on us - they even held the bathroom door open for us! This establishment feels very upper class (and the prices convey that as well). They had a handwritten note for us for my boyfriend's birthday which was the cherry on top! There's just something about handwritten notes that make the experience feel that much more personal First, they gave us complimentary little salmon bites. Very delicious and very kind of them to do! The white little shrimp crisp that held the salmon paired very well - I used to eat these shrimp chips all the time with mom when I was younger. We then ordered these poke special with more of these shrimp crisps and that appetizer was DELICIOUS. It has a good hint of sweetness and you could cleanse your palette with the coconut water shot afterwards. The plating was also spectacular. I wish there was more for the $35. For entrees, we got the duck-duck and the shaken beef (I swapped the rice for the forbidden black rice). I really enjoyed my shaken beef, the flavors reminded me of home and my mom's cooking. The forbidden rice was ok but definitely tasted better with the sauce. The salad tasted fresh. The duck-duck tasted ok to me- there was something in it that I didn't like but I'm not sure what it was. We ended the night on a very high note with a personalized dessert (complimentary) - I don't like chocolate but my boyfriend said it was super rich and delicious! They even offered us a Polaroid picture to commemorate the night. It was the highlight of my night and I will remember it forever!!! Overall, the experience and service are a 1000/10 and that's why you pay the price that you pay and why it is featured on the Michelin guide. I would say the food is a 4/5, but I'm also Vietnamese and a little pickier on my Vietnamese food. Paying that price for the flavors my mom can create is tough but the experience is definitely worthwhile! Highly recommend

We came here for dinner last weekend with my parents. We were seated right away. Restaurant BT is simply decorated on the inside, the minute you walk in the space feels clean and pristine. The restaurant is small which is nice because you feel like you're having a nice, private dinner. We tried their beef dumplings for an appetizer. They were delicious, the waiter gave us an extra dumpling so we had enough to share with everyone, which was so thoughtful. For my entree, I got their 'Duck Duck Risotto' it was sooooo good. The duck was cooked perfectly! The risotto was creamy and delicious. The entree came with a side of roasted seasonal vegetables, which were delicious. The plating was impeccable and absolutely gorgeous. Everyone else loved their entrees! For dessert, we tried their pane cota, it was light and flavorful. It was the perfect way to end our meal. Our waiter was attentive and very professional. Restaurant BT is the perfect spot for a delicious, high end dinner. The prices are higher, but you get what you pay for. Food made with love and amazing service! Instagram: @living.with.reg

I was genuinely reluctant to write this review not because the experience wasn't worth sharing, but because Restaurant BT feels like a secret that should be preserved for true local food lovers. This is not your typical dining spot it's a sanctuary for those who appreciate culinary art in its most intimate form. From the moment we walked through the garden-lit entryway, it was clear we were in for something rare. The ambiance is effortlessly elegant, with a quiet confidence that invites you to slow down and savor. Each course of the chef's tasting menu was a masterclass in flavor, texture, and presentation. I've dined at multiple Michelin-starred establishments, but many pale in comparison to what Chef BT is creating here in Tampa. What truly sets this place apart isn't just the food it's the people. The staff's attention to detail was staggering. Every element of the evening was thought through, from the pacing of each course to the personalized touches at the table. Chef BT herself came to speak with us several times throughout the night not as a performer, but as a passionate creator genuinely interested in our experience. We left not just full, but connected, inspired, and already planning our return. If you're fortunate enough to find yourself here, cherish it. This is culinary intimacy at its finest.

If I am on death row, this place will serve my last meal. Absolutely fantastic. They grow their own herbs in their parking lot. The service was top notch and the food was exquisite and savory. A very relaxing meal experience! Will absolutely go back.

I really wanted to like this restaurant, but a couple things fell flat. I have to say though that a couple friends rave about this place, so I would still recommend checking it out, but definitely order off the menu instead of the tasting menu. I have a very hard time choosing restaurants when my family is in town. My younger sister lived in LA, Singapore and now NYC. My dad travels internationally a lot and always stops at Michelin star restaurants. I am the least cultured and least traveled of my family. But I love food, so I try really hard to figure out where to bring them when they're in town. I texted a friend who moved here pretty recently from NYC and is big in the food scene to ask what restaurant she would recommend. She listed a couple and Restaurant BT was on it. I had always meant to check this place out, since I love locally owned and operated restaurants and this place had great reviews, so I decided this would be the one dinner I would take my family to. (My dad and sister's visit only overlapped by a day.) That's a long way to say a lot was riding on this dinner. We went with the $230 pp tasting menu. I think this is where we went wrong. Online it says there are 10 plates. The first came out with all four together (there wasn't any type of amuse bouche). I actually thought that was one plate, but later realized that it counted as four. Dessert had a small banana tapioca pudding and chocolate mousse that was served together and counted as two. I think if the food really wowed me, I wouldn't be counting plates, but the quality and quantity didn't feel worth the price. I thought all of it was good, but not great. None of the dishes were truly memorable to me and normally when we do tasting menus there's at least one that really stood out. None were bad though, so I'd say it was a solid good. The other part of the meal that was difficult was our waiter couldn't tell us anything about what dishes to expect. Both my dad and sister love wine, so they were trying to pair the dishes with the wine. We asked our waitress twice if she could give us more information about the upcoming dishes (in case we wanted to decant a wine for later) and she said something along the lines of there will be a couple seafood dishes and a meat dish. We pressed more, but there wasn't really more she said even after going in the back to check with the chef. I remembered reading online that the chef travels to various wine regions, so I thought their wine recommendations/selections would be better. The last part that surprised me was we never met the chef. I saw her walk to the bar once or twice, but she never came over to the tables. There were only three during a majority of the time we were eating and at one point only two. It got busier when we left (but that was only six tables). It's hard for me to write this review, because I believe the chef is truly talented and people love this restaurant. Personally, I just didn't have the best experience and would highly recommend sticking to the regular menu instead of the tasting one (especially if you're looking to pair wine.)

While I hadn't been to Restaurant BT in many years, we moved to Tampa and wanted to try this wonderful restaurant again. While the food is magnificently prepared and presented, I unfortunately must say that whatever we had was short on flavor. We had the Salmon Poke which was a special, was tasty but nothing special. Also had the Duck Burritos which were delicious but overpowered with too much Hosein sauce. (Also two of these were $18, overpriced). Finally we shared the Pink Prawns which were nicely prepared but the noodles had no taste. Just boring. The services is very good as is the wine list but the owner who was there never came by to say hello and there were only 2 other tables there on a Friday Night. At minimum you would have thought the chef/owner might say hello and a at least a thank you!

Really unique place. Vietnamese and French fusion. Definitely a rare find especially in Tampa. Place has a nice parking lot and very romantic ambience. A menu is pretty extensive and every dish is unique and special. We had duck burrito and tuna tartare for appetizer. Was absolutely delicious. For the main I had food karma, a vegan dish with tofu that was perfect. My husband had BOUILLABAISSE BT which was huge and super delicious. But his dish was definitely more French than Vietnamese. Honestly we were positively surprised. We like trying new dishes and I found it to be very special. I have been in Vietnam and in France, so I was very excited to try this place. Service was exceptional, friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were superior! Loved them! It is on a pricier side but definitely worth it!

We found this gem on an article that recently highlighted Michelin recognized restaurants in Tampa bay. We were greeted at the door by the hostess, and welcomed with a beautiful serene atmosphere. Exceptional service and amazing food did not disappoint.

I was very impressed with the ambiance, service, and the freshness of the food. I felt well taken care of. The service was great. The food came out promptly. The plating of the food was a work of art. Our server did a great job with remembering all of our orders in a group of 5 and was very respectful. The food was delicious and as expected for fine dining. I am also very impressed with the kindness of the staff/ management. After leaving the restaurant on a Saturday night, I realized I forgot my jacket. I called and left a voicemail on Sunday since they are closed Sunday and Monday I received a phone call back promptly the next morning and I was able to get my jacket back before driving back to my hometown that was 2 hours away. I am so grateful for that.

The Truffle Potato Croquettes were amazing, I honestly could've eaten 20 of them. The bread with the whipped butter was incredible and such a great start to the meal. My Scallop Risotto was delicious and the scallops literally melted in my mouth. But the standout for me was the Pot Pie La Mer. Holy moly... I've never had a pot pie like that before. I had "Le Burger," a perfect double patty with a sauce that reminded me of a really good Big Mac sauce, and it did not disappoint. I also took a chance on the "Wild Thyme" cocktail, not expecting much since it's so different from what I usually order, and I ended up enjoying it far more than I anticipated. The only minor miss was the Profiteroles. The pastry just didn't come across as fresh and was a little stale in texture. Not enough to overshadow anything, but it's the one reason I'd have landed at 4.5 if that were an option. Everything else was incredible, including the friendly, welcoming staff. We'll definitely be back.

For one drink I switched to a pour of my favorite Angels Envy Rye (which they had for a decent price), but switched back to the old fashioned for drink number three. The appetizers were all packing big flavors and often a unique twist. The Korean crab shrimp scallion pancake was light an airy. I didn't notice a ton of seafood flavor, but it was fun to share. Next was the Korean pork belly tacos. It came with two tacos which was perfect and the flavor on these was so good. The pork belly was perfectly tender with no fatty gristle. These are a must have. The star of the show was surprisingly the Mushroom Tartine which we only ordered because the bartender recommended it. The flavor on the mushrooms was amazing and it mixed perfectly with the soft goat cheese and crunch from the sourdough. Never take this off the menu.
