I went through many eye tests, and exams at this practice the same day, before he came into the room to speak with me. He was extremely arrogant and rude right off the bat. I briefly explained the problem I was having with seeing out of my left eye. He abruptly responded he is conservative & didn't want to do surgery to remove them. I explained I already had the surgery to remove floaters in my right eye back in 2019. He didn't care, he said again, he is conservative. Then he told me to go back to my optometrist I'd been to in Dec 2025 to see if I could get glasses for the floaters! I was shocked and replied to him there are no corrective lenses for floaters, only surgery or laser treatment gets rid of floaters; it is impossible for corrective lenses/glasses to correct an eye with floaters. He did not go over any of the eye tests or exams I went through for an hour before seeing him. He never said one word about the results of the tests. He just ended my consult and left the room after telling me to come back in 3 months! I thought, what for - so you can make money from my insurance for being a total jerk! I do not recommend this so called opthalmologist, or this practice to anyone!

As I was leaving and they were appartently have their afteroon pow wow, I leaned in and said the recovery period is six months. That's one of descriptors Dr. Kim should have shared. I'm going to the Houston Eye Associates who know that low-dose atrophine can be prescribed for eye floater. No one at Retina & Vireous Center had a clue. I've never had so many tests run on me without any explanation of what each test was for. I have a suspicion they were running up the bill. There ran duplicate tests - one with dilation medicine and another with a contraption that checks your eye and dilation is not needed. The last test was invasive as the dictor kept ckecking all around the eye just like previous tests had done. Again, he never explained what he was doing or why he was doing. That is totally unprofessional.

After extensive testing by Dr. El-Annan's staff, his evaluation concluded I had (PCO) posterior capsule opacification and l would need laser treatment to correct it. I agreed to the treatment. It took almost no time. After maybe two hours everything was almost normal. By the next day, I was stunned as to how good my vision was. Almost as if nothing was ever wrong! As an added bonus, Dr. Annan was so patient and so informative about every aspect of the 'operation'. He kept asking if I was understanding everything he was telling me. The clinic is busy, but the system and secretaries make things run quite smooth. I'm a rather difficult case, presenting with angle recession glaucoma following an injury I had over 15 years ago. After a botched attempt in changing my eyedrop regiment at another clinic, Dr. Coburn's team accepted me as a patient and asked me to come by ASAP. As bad as the situation was, Dr. Coburn set me back on the right path. When I'm in a critical point in my care, the doctors here are willing to make exceptions. Dr. Queen has placed a beautiful shunt in my eye. I can't see it. Post-op check ups are frequent and I feel comfortable as a patient. Compared to other clinics, communication is quick and much needed emergency visits are taken seriously. Hard to get care this good anywhere.

You feel like you're on Grey's Anatomy with all of the med students, fellows, and residents that accompany him, but you also learn more about your illness/situation.
