All of the staff were friendly, and gave us multiple suggestions on other places we should check out in the area during our trip. I saw new place open with wine on 4th and could not resist to give it a try. They just open in January. Not a very big place but they have a great atmosphere with a main bar/seating area and in the back a small patio. Very nice selection of wines. They offer flights of three different wines from a highlighted region. Tonight was Spain with a sparkling white and two reds. The red won out and followed the flight with a couple stand alone glasses of wine. To complement our wine, they offer a cheese or meat plate at a reasonable price. I was also pleased to see a limited selection of beers but wine is their expertise. Serving staff was great and patient while trying to decide what to have and once they had a handle on your taste, they made good recommendation. What a cute little place! I visited tonight to see a friend and hadn't heard about it yet. The decor is great (beautiful mural on the wall!) and the owner that I met was very nice. The wine selection was reasonably priced and I will definitely be coming back. I'm not sure if they have bottles for sale yet to drink in house, but their wine by the glass selection has something for everyone. I believe they also have cheese and charcuterie plates. A sign near the restrooms also said there is a patio coming soon. I have high hopes for this place and I am happy to see a dedicated wine bar near downtown. Revel was a very intimate wine bar right in the middle of downtown Tucson. It is quite a gem with a great number of wine selections. My husband and I both got a couple of flights, I went with the red flight and he went with the white and the winds were fantastic as we told the bartender the types of wine we tend to like and he picked out the flight himself. That atmosphere is laid-back and intimate however there is plenty of seating. It is definitely A destination for you if you would like a more relaxed environment on fourth Avenue. read more

I was introduced to Revel not too long ago, but it has quickly rose to the top of my favorite spots to hang out and drink casually. The atmosphere of this wine lounge is perfect for a laid back weekday get together, and the art that periodically changes is always amazing. They have a wide variety of wines that rotate out, so you can always try something new each time you go. The food is also really tasty (some of the best olives I've had are from here)! The food is moderately priced, but you get a good amount for what you pay for. Overall, I love coming to revel because of the atmosphere and how knowledgeable the workers are, so I can never get a bad glass of wine for my taste! read more

After reading the glowing reviews about Revel, a friend and I decided to try it out. I've been hoping to find a great wine bar and when people say this might be the best in Tucson, they're not kidding. Our bartender was Eric, a gentleman extremely knowledgeable about the wine he is pouring. He took the time to discuss the different options. Giving him an idea of what wine I enjoy, I asked him to pick for me. I'm so glad I did. For food Revel has a charcuterie that is artistically presented. The barata was fantastic. And don't forget to try the chocolate plate and wine pairing for dessert. Tucson desperately needed a wine bar accessible to all tastes with educated, caring staff. Whether you are a wine fanatic or are just learning, I think this bar is a great place to go. It has a very nice size list of wines for people to try. They even offer wine flights for $12, so everyone should be able to find something they like. It being on 4th lends itself to being a good place to go after dinner. My only issue with it was the lighting. I get they were trying to make an intimate setting by only using candlelight, but it was sort of hard to read the menu under that dim of conditions. I came here with a friend on Christmas Eve, as we waited for a table at a restaurant down the street, and we had a blast. They had plenty of alcoholic drinks available at a reasonable price, however the real star of this place is the wine selections of which there is quite a lot to choose from. In addition to the drinks, they also offer some snacks, including a meat and cheese plate. We did not opt for them, but we did partake their delicious cookies, which they offered to us for free. The bartender on duty was a real sweetheart and very knowledgeable about the offerings they had there. I would argue that she is probably my current favorite bartender in the city. read more

My wife and I got into Tucson two days ago and ventured out last night for an early appetizer and glass of wine. We found Revel Wine Bar with a quick Google search. We dont' know Tucson very well and will not drink and drive so we Uber'd from our AirBnB downtown. The front door was open with cool, refreshing air flowing through the linear space. We sat down at 5:15pm and were greeted shortly after sitting down by Todd, the owner. He is super knowledgeable, friendly and was very willing to share his recommendations on the wine menu. His wife is from Europe (Switzerland I believe) so they travel to the old world wine countries often and have first hand knowledge of great, affordable wines that they make available in the restaurant. We enjoyed the Baratta cheese plate infused with garlic and covered with olive oil and fresh basil accompanied by artesian bagguette slices. As I mentioned above, the space is linear and has a super large mirror that Todd put an acid finish on it that is super artistic and awesome, especially with the mural on the opposing wall that reflects onto the mirror that provides a terrific atmosphere enhancement. With three more weeks here, we will definitely be visiting weekly, if not more. It is so refreshing to experience a passionate owner/operator genuinely concerned with delivering a world class experience as the center of their vision. Being that it was formerly an art gallery/warehouse space, the ceilings are high so the place stays cool With a good selection of wine and champagne I am a happy customer when I come in here. They usually have music playing, and live music too. If you're tired of every other bar atmosphere in Tucson and just want something relaxed yet elegant this is the place. I'm a visitor to Tucson and my local friend had not yet been here but had heard good things. Revel was quiet at 4 pm on a Thursday, but the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We had the French flight (a sparkling white, a rose and a pinot noir - all delicious), a glass of the wine-of-the-week rose (wonderful) and the cheese plate (outstanding). I so wanted this to be a great experience! Unfortunately it was over before it started for me... Three of us have been excitedly waiting for today's Sparkling Wine 101 class. For $10 for an hour of tasting and education in a relatively new, fun looking little place, it seemed like a no-brainer. Unfortunately when I arrived at 1245, following into the establishment someone laden down with two bags of ice from the market, I was surprised to find only two patrons at the bar and a bartendress pouring a drink. I stood for a moment, I greeted her, and asked "I'm here for the wine tasting class...?" And she said, without looking at me, "Yup it's at 2:00," and served the drink. I said, "Gosh I could have sworn the invite I got said 1PM?" "Nope!" She assured me. The lady on the end of the bar, sans said drink, said "Thar's what I thought too!" She looked at me as if for support. I stood a little longer ignored by the bartendress, and decided that was enough for me, so I left. Outside, I called my friends who confirmed the time on the invite was 1pm so we all cancelled. How disappointing for such a great idea to become so terribly unappealing now because this employee didn't care to acknowledge or investigate what the people in her place made clear they had seen was the time. Forget about the fact the invite was wrong - mistakes happen. But the human element can always make that OK. Not today. I dare say all that ice will have gone unneeded if the others who were showing up at 100 (No one else did while I was there) didn't want to wait until 2pm. What a cool wine bar to just sit and hang out. This place has a very wide selection of wines: red, white, rose, by the glass and by the bottle. The menu is generally sorted from lightest to darkest and is very extensive. I'm not a wine aficionado, actually can't really tell the difference between fancy expensive wine and boxed wine but the server was so helpful in helping us choose the perfect wine. She was very knowledgeable and attentive despite how busy it was getting at 2200 on a Saturday night! Lastly, the wall art is something else. Love champagne....love supporting local new businesses...and finding cool places to spend time with friends but when I rearrange my day to do that it better be at the time and place I was told.
