    Chocolate Lava Cake

Where to begin. Over Valentine's weekend, we decided to try Revival. Starting with the service, it was exceptional. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine pairings. I did lobster bisque soup as an appetizer, duck for my entrée, with lava cake for dessert. My wife had a fillet, which was cooked, perfectly, medium, rare, and lava cake as well. Definitely recommend for a special evening!

This restaurant is in the same building as the rooftop bar. It has a very elegant atmosphere with amazing service. We shared a crab cake that only had about 30% filler and the rest lump crab with a really nice presentation. I had a medium filet that was perfectly cooked and so tender. The side with it was a fried cornbread that reminded me of my home in Georgia. My husband had shrimp and grits and he said it could have used a little bit more spice. We shared a flourless chocolate cake even though he really didn't want to share it. It was delicious!!!

This spot is well known as an upscale spot to go for a good meal. Sadly, this wasn't quite the treat we had hoped for. We went with a very seasoned group of Charleston restaurant patrons. Reservations were made a good month or so in advance. All parties were present and on time. We were seated and noticed immediately that the menu was shorter than the menu online, and the waitstaff came over to let us know we would be offered a prefix menu, something like a restaurant week menu. We were told that we were informed of this change, via text at 5pm. Even if this text was known, how do you get reservations on a Saturday night at 7pm with a party of 8, especially for an upscale evening out? We politely explained to Jonathan, our server, that we would prefer to have the regular menu - he promptly brought it to us and we all ordered what we wanted. Jonathan was great throughout the evening. Venison, Chicken, and Fish entrees were ordered. The chicken was stellar and what I came for, so very pleased. But, the fish: all 4 people at the table of 8 that ordered it complained of it being dry, rendering it not edible. I tasted my husband's and agreed - and when you overcook fish, especially the whole table, it's hard to move on from that - especially when a couple is spending $200 to $300 for their evening. The wine and cocktails were delicious, I had the fig Proscuitto salad - also amazing. The Elvis was a fun dessert that we all tasted - but when the most expensive part of the meals is so-so, it's hard to want to go back.

Great drinks and food. Service was ok. I had to ask our server if she wanted us to order from the bar vs her. The table wasn't clean. Disappointed because they had a lot going on but not too much to clean the table. Lives our drinks and appetizers. Will be back. Hope they get their service together

We went here because Revival was highly ranked. For a self-proclaimed #7, we were shocked when over half the tables were empty at 7:30pm. The escargot was decent. The apple salad tasted liked it had been dressed yesterday and re-served, it was wilted and disgusting. The pirlou had undercooked, crunchy rice on the bottom. The short rib was absolutely inedible. It was fatty and gray. Short ribs are supposed to fall off the bone. I couldn't even cut mine with a knife. When the waiter saw my clearly uneaten plate, he asked if I wanted a box but never once asked us how everything was. I am assuming he did not want to hear the answer. Completely awful dining experience from start to finish. Extremely disappointing for what was supposed to have been a fine dining experience. There was obviously a reason why over half the tables were empty. Do not waste your money here.

We stopped into Revival around 5:30 on a Saturday night. There wasn't anyone else in the restaurant, so we weren't sure if it was open to the public or not. We ordered the she crab soup, the low country Pirlou and the steak. The soups was great, and the rest of our meal was good. I definitely think they charge too much for what it was. With so many other dining options in the area, I don't know if we will be back.

We had dinner here last Saturday. It was our first time here and we really enjoyed the ambiance, service, and food. The ambiance was very romantic and noise was to a minimum. I also loved all the artwork that was able to be purchased. Our two servers were on top of it and made sure we were taken care of but not overbearing. I read that the portions are small so we got two appetizers (sourdough bread and scallops) with our entrees. So happy we did because everything was delicious! My husband doesn't like mushrooms but loved the mushroom risotto with his venison. I also loved the low country piriou, lots of seafood! Sadly, we were too full for dessert but will try it next time we are in town.

Food. Was. Amazing. I was nervous based on some 1 star reviews I saw, but the kitchen was ON POINT tonight. Halibut.. Brussels... She Crab Soup... even the specialty bread. Finished strong with the velvet Elvis cake. Brook took such good care of us. Started the meal congratulating us on our anniversary and dropping off a thoughtful card. Vibe was pretty chill for a Friday night, but we were there pretty late. We closed it down! We will be back!

Hidden gem. Top five seafood meals in my life and I travel globally for fishing. Also had the grilled octopus app which was also great. This meal was complexed flavorful and had lots of different textures. The rice was the kicker for me. Give it a try or you're missing out. Was a very nice place for my birthday trip from Pa. The service was a little slow but they had two big parties there that took up most of the tables. But the meals were very nice and were very tasty to eat there!

We booked this several weeks in advance for their Christmas Day Dinner service. When I said this was so far from acceptable I truly truly mean it. We got the last reservation time unfortunately at 8:00, no big deal we eat late and figured it would be a busy evening. However, they had called me multiple times prior to this evening to confirm we would be at our reservation, and also to remind me that if we did not show or cancelled less than 48 hours in advance we would be charged $50 per person. We arrived at Revival at 7:40 to get checked in as we knew it would be busy but if we could be sat early we would gladly take it. The hostess informed us they were running just a little behind but shortly after 8 we would be seated. No big deal! It was Christmas after all, we figured it might be a little behind. We went to The Vendue lobby just down the hall and say to wait while looking at beautiful art. At 8:20 after not hearing anything we walked back up to Revival and were met with several glances and at 8:35 you could tell they were worried about our table and offered to seat us at the bar. Neither of us drink and I reserved a table, I really didn't want to sit and watch drinks be made in front of me. When we asked how long our table would be we could see the manager quickly rushing to bus the now empty table and get us seated. Which occurred around 8:40 PM. 8:40 PM for an 8:00 reservation that if we were late or did not show we would be charged $50 Per Person. Once seated the waitress came over, did not once introduce herself just asked what type of water we would like. Brought our water and asked if we would like wine or a cocktail with dinner. We asked what nonalcoholic options were available and it was almost as if she was offended she wouldn't be making more because we weren't going to be drinking. She begrudgingly listed off the soft drinks and tea that they had. Shortly after our Amuse Bouche arrived at the table. This came out and was pretty good in my opinion. She came back and we placed our order for the three course fixed menu. About 10 minutes later our 1st course appeared. This was okay, my scallops were less than desirable. However, halfway through our 1st course we could see a runner trying to bring us our 2nd course and was met by our waitress and told to wait. About two minutes later they cleared our 1st course and immediately sat down our 2nd course. This was also insipid and left much to desire. We couldn't even get halfway through our second course before they attempted to bring our dessert out. I am still just in awe by this. The entire experience felt EXTREMELY rushed and almost as if we were unwelcome. For a high end restaurant with a holiday meal I was beyond disappointed. We were seated at 8:40 and back in our car two blocks away, headed home at 9:36..... We were rushed through a 3 course meal in less than an hour. They wanted to close and did not want us to linger and it was much felt. We were celebrating our recent wedding, Christmas and my birthday which is the 26th all with that dinner. Next time we will take the $250 and spend it in an establishment that wants our business and wants us to be guests. Overall, the WORST fine dining experience of my life. I will never go back and never recommend this establishment to anyone. I wish I had better things to say but I do not.

My friend said the tomato pie was really good but it's all cheese and tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were crispy but needed seasoning. They were incredibly bland. For the main dish she ordered the smash burger and I ordered the fish and grits. She took one bite of the smash burger and sent it back saying it tasted like a frozen burger you'd get at Walmart. The fish and grits were ok. They too were bland and needed salt. A LOT of salt or any other seasoning. The okra, Lima beans and corn that come in this dish also tasted like it came out of a frozen bag. There is no seasoning in this dish whatsoever. Unfortunately this place was a miss and we won't be returning. Also the bathrooms look like a porta potty. You know the cheap plastic that porta potties are made out of? Yeah that's what the stalls are made out of. It looks so cheap and a big contrast from the rest of the restaurant. The staff was nice but they also look like they hate working here.

This was not my dish so I only got a taste and next time we go back I'm going to get this for myself! - grilled salmon sald - 5*5, arugula, couscous, dried fruit, pine nuts, feta, lemon shallot vinaigrette (this dressing is so delicoius! I don't have any other she-crab soup to compare it to, but I can say it was absolutely delicious. Consider me a fan. After five days of enjoying Charleston's incredible food scene, we were looking for a lighter lunch since we were planning to splurge later that evening at Halls Chophouse. Our waitress was very nice! She was very helpful with her recommendations and very attentive. My husband and I both ordered drinks and my daughter ordered a Shirley Temple. Her Shirley Temple was extremely grenadine heavy, which I think they assumed they were doing her a favor, but she was a bit overwhelmed by how sweet it was. They serve it with a Sprite instead of Ginger Ale, just FYI. For dinner, I of course had to order the She Crab soup. Believe the hype! It was the best She Crab soup I had in Charleston. It was sheer perfection. I ordered the Skillet Chicken Cutlets and my husband had the Braised Beef Short Ribs. His dinner was delicious, the short ribs were so soft and tender and just melted in your mouth. I enjoyed the few bites of his more than my chicken, even though my meal was still good.
