It's a vibe! Love the decor and the ambiance. Feels super upscale. It's very intimate to me. It's the bar/lounge of the hotel Sawyer, but feels like a place of its own. It's open to the public you don't have to be staying at the hotel to visit. Go during sunset golden hour, the views are spectacular. The pool outside just makes it feel so calm. They do serve food not just bar drinks. Bartenders are work fast but usually attentive. The drinks are okay. Presentations always a 5/5 and it's tasty, but not much alcohol. I'd recommend this spot if you're looking for low key atmosphere for a small talk or relaxed night. Not so much for a bar night out. Maybe you can start here but won't be the vibe you're looking for for an actual night out. There is music but it's more of a lounge. read more

FYI* If you are traveling from another country make sure you have a US identification. I have never experienced a manager telling someone they could not enter a bar or facility because they don't have a US identification. We had a friend coming from overseas to travel and they were not let into this place because his identification was not from the United States. This is the capital of California one of the most diverse places in the world, how could they not accept international identifications. read more

I love the vibe of this place. It's upscale and it's great viewed/scenery are perfect for girl's nights or to catch up with friends. I think the drinks and food are overpriced. Maybe if the cocktails and food were superb, it would of be an issue but that's not the case. Service is a hit and miss depending on how busy they are. Drinks are sometimes really good and sometimes you wonder. I ended up sticking to wine because of the inconsistency of the cocktails. We ordered two samplers which looked delicious but they didn't provide wonton chips or chips to scoop up the mango salad or poke. It looked so good too. We asked the server for some sort of option and she said they only had bread they could offer. What a shame. I probably won't be back. read more

Overall my visits have been ok, we mainly order drinks and appetizers before heading out to other places, but this last time we had a concert to go to, so I was excited to find reservations available here. To my surprise there was no hostess, a lovely security guard took us to our table after we waited some time and we explained we had to leave by a certain time, and wanted to have dinner before then. The service continued to be awful, they may have been nice, but they took forever and it was not worth the wait. The drinks were ok, and the food was just not good! We ordered Gambas and their Skirt Steak, the steak was over cooked and not well seasoned at all. The Gambas tasted overcooked as well, and the papas bravas were not what we expected. What continued to be the theme of the night besides the overcooked and under seasoned food, was the lack of service. We would have ordered more drinks, regardless of the bad food and service, as we wanted to skip the lines at the concert, but the lack of service didn't allow for us to order more drinks. The place is nice. The view is beautiful if you can get out to the pool side, but I'm not sure the view is worth it. If you want a great time before a concert or game, I'm not sure if this place is worth the gamble. Like I said, been here a few times, and it's been hit or miss. read more

I came here for the first time to grab a quick meal and drink before a concert nextdoor. I would say this place is intended for the party/lounge crowd - they check IDs at the door (all day?), all of their glasses are plastic (presumably bc they open this place up to the pool for people to spread out at some point), and they take a credit card from you before you order. But very instagrammable setting if that's what you're looking for. The food menu is fairly small but the drink selection was good from what I recall. 4 stars for the surprisingly good food. Service was pretty slow, we were waiting around a lot even though it wasn't full. read more

Came here on a Sunday night and enjoyed the bar. Sunday is happy hour all day so we enjoyed food and drinks. We had Alex as our bartender and he was awesome. The drinks were amazing. He made me a bomb lemon drop which most bartenders easily mess up. It was so perfect I had 3 of them =p Hubby enjoyed his drinks as well. We ordered whipped ricotta, chicken tacos, potato fries and the baguette pizza which was AMAZING. Shocked it was so good for bar food. The ambience was great. Cute decor and set up in the main room. It was too cold to be outside with drinks but the outside view looked nice. Great time here, will be back for sure! read more

This was our very first time!We stopped to get a drink during happy hour before a concert at Golden one. They have a variety of drinks and the music that was playing was good! My husband and I sat at the bar. The happy hour ended at 7pm and that is when they open the pool area for anyone to enjoy the rooftop and sunset. We went out and really enjoyed the outdoor pool area as it is a great place to overlook the Golden one quad area and people watch! The bathrooms were also super clean. *Such* a great time every time I find myself at Revival. The staff is always really attentive & the vibe/aesthetic is really unique. I didn't have my physical card, but they still opened a tab for me & let me pay with ApplePay -- love that! I would even say this is a hidden gym of Sacramento; which doesn't have too many. This time around, I was accompanied & we ended up having a nice glass of white wine (a chard I think) while he had a beer. I usually have a cute little cocktail, but since we made it to happy hour (we went Labor Day so it was pretty empty, and caught their happy hour which is 3-6 I believe) I opted for a glass of wine. Also, and to my surprise, we made it in time to try their $2 oysters (while supplies last)! The happy hour is super clutch: wine for $7, beer for $5? (I think), & $2 oysters for 6! Still, going to be honest, oysters are not my favorite at all, but who I was with really enjoyed them. They were also pretty hefty/thick which is great for the price. And they came with cute travel hot sauces! Which made eating them worth it, lol. Overall, I had a great time & even got some cute piks in. I can't wait to circle back & get revived again! read more

It was Valentines evening when we headed to the rooftop bar/restaurant at the Sawyer. As usual the staff was kind and professional. They are always trying to accommodate their patrons. What a wonderful relaxed time. We watched the sun go down as we enjoyed a variety of plates. We loved the well curated charcuterie board. It's always changing which I really like. The whipped fresh Lemon Ricotta was so smooth and perfect on warm toast. So good. The oysters were fresh but very tiny. They were only 1.00 each so I was ok with it. The bone marrow was perfectly prepared. We shared wine and also had a great cocktail. After we were finished our server told us there was a place to go take pics out near the pool. That's the big love sign you see in my pics. I love going here year round. I like watching the rain fall thru the glass partition or in the summer, people playing in the pool with the glass partition opened to the outside. It can be expensive but it's a perfect spot. I've been to Revival before for the view and never for the bar so once I heard about the happy hour $1 oysters on Mondays, I had to check it out! I went here with a friend Monday after Easter so it was a little slow. The staff were very kind and checked up on us often but could've been slightly more attentive as we had to flag down the bus boy twice rather than our waitress when we wanted to order additional food & drink. We also had to ask for another set of silverware once they cleared our first plates and served us our second order without any utensils. We ordered some drinks, two rounds of a dozen oysters as well as a few of the small plates and finally, the chocolate cake for dessert. The oysters were delicious and needed little additional garnishment that was provided (lemon and hot sauce) as the house sauce that was on the oyster complimented the flavor well. The small plates were filling and the beet hummus was unique and very flavorful. Once the cake was brought out, it tasted great but was missing the mixed berries that it listed on the menu. Either way, everything was great but a little more attention and detail to everything would make this 5 stars! I will definitely be coming back for the oysters and tasty small plates. read more

Reserved this beautiful rooftop bar & lounge for my Husband's 30ish Birthday. Upon arrival, we pulled up and valeted our vehicle for a good price of $15 bucksish. First impression-- beautiful, elegant, and BIG. Valet took care of our car and directed us to the rooftop, "Revival". It's part of the a Sawyer Hotel right across from the Golden 1 Center, so the Hotel itself holds a nice reputation to it's name. The service from the valet, to the security, to the host, than finally our server was all a pleasure. They said dress to impress so that's what we did, we came prepared and it felt good. The food prices are reasonable as the quality and quantity of their items were very impressive. Not going to lie, we weren't to fond of the dinner menu as it had only a few items, BUT I'm glad we still gave it shot because it was the best shrimp tacos & burgers/pizza we had. You don't feel bloated or full after eating, you feel fresh alive- like some goodeats:) Homemade tortillas, fresh oysters and our cocktails complimented each other well. Our server also went above and beyond. He moved us from the indoor to the outdoor cabanas and took care of us all night! I'm talking-- taking pictures, moving our drinks, food from inside to out. Taking our boxed cake and putting it on a nice presentable plate, he helped surprise our birthday king by popping up with candles lit and a birthday song. He just overall made sure we were well taken care of. We felt special and the service was just so nice all around. Feels good to spend quality time at a quality filled establishment. After a long fun night, we all left tipsy and left a mighty tip for our Server. (Wish I remembered his name lol) we took the elevator back downstairs and-- there right in front of the hotel, waited our beautiful white Escalade just parked all handsome looking. I made a reservation over the phone and when I came in I was told I didn't have a reservation even though I had called the day before to add another person. You would think it would run better considering the area and the hotel it's in. read more

The recent reviews for speak for themselves. You're seeing 1 star or 5 stars from the last year, seemingly always dependent on service experience. I've had good experiences and bad experiences at Revival. The good experiences have kept me coming back, but last night was a 1 star experience. It was a gorgeous night, so my friend and I came out to have a drink on the pool deck. We started inside, sat doen at the bar, and waited 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. 3 bartenders and 1 bar-back right in front of us. When a bartender handed us the menus, I said "we're ready if you are," and he sharply replied "well I'm not ready" and kept working on other orders. A simply apology for the wait would've been totally acceptable!! Oh, and only hotel guests on the pool deck before 7. A lovely gentleman overheard that we had come to Revival just for a drink on the deck and offered to pass us his room key so we could finish our martinis outside... appx 5:30. Bar staff figured out that we were not actually hotel guests and sent up 3 body guards to remove us. Three?! I get rules are rules, but it was incredibly embarrassing. Last time I'm going back until they can figure out their service problem. Total shame because it really is the best rooftop bar in Sac. read more

Me and some coworkers came into revival yesterday and got a round of drinks through Adam. His service was great, good banter and has a unique approach to bartending. He claims to enjoy to turn something that people stay away from into something that anyone would enjoy. He had his own whiskey cocktail on the menu and it was delicious. I have said it before and I will say it again and again... Sacramento needs more roof top places like Revival. Roof top bars, restaurants and lounges have such a fun, vibrant, chill vibe and that's how I would describe Revival on an eventful night especially if they have a DJ playing the throwback hits. Revival over looks the Golden1 center. It was a tropical, Palm Springs interior vibe. I would highly recommend this spot for date night. Haven't tried the food yet, but the drinks are pretty basic. I would recommend this spot for the Sac City Views. Best time to visit is during sunset. read more

Definitely a spot to see and be seen if you're into that kind of thing. Strong drinks and tons of eye candy here. Super swanky vibe and all business casual attire from what I noticed.
