This place is absolutely beautiful. The food is delicious. I spent $75 before tip and in this is ok for a restaurant as such. However, I was not happy that the lobster was so so little. It wasn't overflowing like the picture shows in fact it did not even fill 2/3rds of the roll. I would've happily paid the $32 or $34 for it because it was delicious. But the two lobster rolls ordered by two people hardly even made one sandwich. read more

It was a bright sunny day... The ambiance was lovely topped with mimosas. We had the peach balínni's not too sweet and they turned out delicious! We had the roasted peppers with burratta as appetizer and chicken salads with sliced veggies. The appetizer was delicious and a must try. Salad could have been better, lacked fullness sliced radishes didn't quite do it for me. However, the surroundings and the experience was fun! I would definitely go back for a girls day! read more

First of all if you are unfamiliar with the area you will drive right past it. The building had literally no signage. I called for help and the hostess could barely instruct me. Finally we found it! The first level inside is a furniture store and the rooftop is upstairs. (They do have an elevator!) The ambiance is perfect here, inside and outside; from the chandeliers, water fountain, and the outside deck is just gorgeous! The waiters were ALL very helpful throughout the dinner. Peach Bellini was too peachy not enough alcohol. In addition, they do not serve hard alcohol, only wine, beer, and mimosa/Bellini! Can't have a rooftop without alcohol lol. The food was really good we got the roasted chicken, simple salad, and mushrooms. After we ate we went out onto the rooftop and took a few photos. Unfortunately, the wind blew my dinner over. I went to notify a manager of the mess and she offered to put in another order for FREE! I declined the offer but that was definitely nice of her!!! Coming here was a nice experience, however, it's not worth driving out there just for the restaurant. If you are in area then definitely give it a try! read more

Ambiance was everything!!! That was all I needed! First time at the OB location. Adequate parking, staff was friendly and accommodating. I just had a Bellini and truffle fries that was really good. They do have a limited menu selection but there are some good options there depending on what you have a taste for. Not to mention the food is pretty pricey. I think it was $20-23 for the fries alone. I still give it 5 stars do to staff friendliness and attentive, ambiance and tho the food was pricey it was good. I recently received a message from one of my subscribers on Instagram to review a new restaurant called RH Rooftop Restaurant in Oak Brook. The reason being is that he wanted to take his wife there for their anniversary and see if it is worth the money. I myself wanted to see what all the hype was about and was eager to check this place out. The restaurant opened a few months ago and I remember seeing it being built when I would pass by it at the Oak Brook Mall. The building is massive. I had no clue what it was going to be and was eager to find out. I did some research and found that it was going to be an RH location "Restoration Home". My only experience with this company was I knew they sold super expensive furniture and one of their locations was in the Merchandise Mart in Downtown Chicago. I had no idea that they also housed a rooftop atrium-style restaurant in most of their locations around the world. I attempted to make reservation months prior via the Open Table app. I quickly found it was next to impossible to snag a reservation weeks after it first opened up. I had forgotten about RH Rooftop until one of my subscribers asked for a review to be made. I was also lucky to see that I was now able to get a reservation for Friday afternoon at 11 a.m. I drove up to the massive building with my wife to try and find the entrance to the huge building. I saw a small sign stating you needed to enter the front entrance that was facing 22nd St. I walked through a large gate that led to a massive door. I was shocked at how gorgeous the inside looked as soon as I walked in. I first noticed two large staircases that lead upstairs to the restaurant where a gorgeous large crystal chandelier hangs overhead. The building consists of three floors, the first two are for super luxurious furniture showrooms and the third is strictly for the restaurant. I want to make a point also that there are elevators available for anyone that cannot for whatever reason climb the large staircase. I enter the restaurant and my first reaction is that it is absolutely gorgeous. A large fountain sits in the middle of the restaurant and large trees adorn all parts of the restaurant amongst the tables. The tables are mainly made up of large booths and two-person tables. The entire restaurant is encased 360 degrees in glass; it looks just like an atrium or sunroom. There is also a rooftop open-air seating area, but it was much too cold for anyone to be out there the day we were there. The host guided us to our table and asked what we would like to drink. I want to make a point here that nothing is free, even the water. I was given the option of still or sparkling water. I went with the Aqua Panna bottle for $9. I later found out that if you make a fuss about the water choices, like the table next to us, they will bring a pitcher of tap water for the table. The main item I was excited to try was their hamburger. It is an exact replica of the AuCheval hamburger downtown. Brendan Sodikoff, the founder of Hogsalt Hospitality owns AuCheval & Bavette's restaurants, located in downtown Chicago. It is a perfect scenario that I am able to get one of the best hamburgers in the country without the 3-hour wait of going to AuCheval downtown. I am able to make a reservation here unlike the AuCheval downtown location, but it comes with a pretty hefty price. The base price of my hamburger that comes with cheese of my choice, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles is $22. If you wanted to add avocado and bacon, which I did, it adds an additional $11, making my hamburger cost $33 without fries. My wife ordered the shaved Ribeye sandwich that cost $30. We had an order of garlic Aioli truffle fries for the table for $20. I will tell you I love everything about RH Rooftop when it comes to the food, ambiance, and service, but the prices are exorbitant. My wife loved her ribeye. I absolutely loved my hamburger and the fries were delicious. The guests' attire was a mix of extreme casual wear to higher-end clothing. I would say RH Rooftop is worth it to try out for a special occasion but in no way could I see it becoming my regular hangout, due to the price. I also want to add that our friendly server told us we came on a good day because when it is warmer out the glass-enclosed restaurant becomes hot as an oven and is miserable due to the heat. Never has a chance to sit down to eat. So I can't comment on the food. Glass of standard pinot is$30. We had 7:30 reservations we checked in at hostess stand at 7:15 and at around 8:15 we asked when we'd be seated. The annoyed hostess rolled her eyes and said she wasn't sure. Then 10 min later we asked same hostess and the manager and they still could not answer. They were clearly annoyed with us. But the feelings were mutual since it was getting late and at this point there was no prospects of us having dinner anytime soon. So we left and went to another restaurant. By the time we finished dinner at the other place we received a text from RH saying our table was ready. So all and all they have attitudes do not care about customer service and are riding on the fact that they are popular because of their atmosphere. Could prob have a better dinner better service at Gibsons for the same price. Once the novelty of this place wears off and customers figure out RH needs to stick to selling furniture I'll be curious to see if they survive. Considering there is a lot of competition out there. read more

Before i posted this I read others review to see if i was being to harsh. The ambiance was beautiful. The staff was quite pretentious and uninterested. The food was ok. I am ok paying for something is worth it! Mastro's = Worth the $, RH Was underwhelming and service was almost as if it were inconvenient we were there. Def a one and done visit. It's actually too bad because I am sure a lot went into that building. Definitely try elsewhere, plenty in the area to choose from! read more

First, you walk into RH Furniture store which is a little weird. Then you walk up 3 flights of steps to get to what looks like a SUPER nice place. Nice decor. Beautiful bar. Lots of people there. Got the menu... it has like 5 choices for dinner which include, uh, sandwiches? The whole menu was just weird for such a nice looking place. I had no choice but to essentially order a Portillios beed sandwich for $30.00. That was just a small beef sandwich on a bun and nothing else. Shrimp cocktail was $25 and small. Two glasses of wine for $50. Potato mash and salad another $20. Wife got the salmon which was just ok. All in spent $168 for two and left hungry. Service was very slow. Plates took forever to get picked up. Water was never refilled. They also have this very nice looking bar with several bartenders behind it and a lot of top shelf liqueur on the shelf. I did get pretty excited about that until I ordered an old fashioned and they said they only serve wine and beer. Uh, what? The whole place is just a show. DO NOT GO HERE not even for drinks cause there aren't any. I don't understand at all why there were so many people here. read more

I had lunch there 2 Saturdays ago. My share of the bill, for 1 glass of wine, shared "crispy artichokes", and lobster roll was $100. (maybe there was a charge for coffee as well). We were originally seated in a corner next to a table of 8 women, (where we would have been almost sitting in their laps) we asked to be moved so we didn't have to listen to their conversation. Our table was next to the fountain, and between the acoustics of the room and the fountain it was VERY noisy. Our server was lovely and very prompt, but for $100, she should have probably tap danced while serving. Basically, the menu was WAY overpriced, everything is ala carte. Not even free fries with the $36 lobster roll. (I think that was an extra $9). When I arrived, my friend was not there yet, and so the hostess would not seat me until she also arrived. I find this annoying and a clue that this place is way too impressed with itself. There is no place to wait while waiting for your party. Pretentious, noisy, expensive, not worth the expense. Limited Menu + Poor Service = Major Disappointment I really wanted to like this beautiful restaurant, but it fell far short on multiple levels. First their menu is more focused on lunch crowds or somebody on a shopping break. It is definitely not at a level of fine dining, even though their prices suggest that and more. They only have 6 entrees, and 3 of those are obviously lunch items. The service was just lousy. They screwed up at least three items the four of us ordered, and after bringing us the correct items, they presented me with a bill for both the incorrect and correct items. They do not have a full bar - only beer and wine. Their touted specialty drink, the RH Bellini, was served luke-warm. I ordered a glass of Perrier Jouet, which arrived absolutely flat and sour. Disappointing. Overpriced. Not worth it and not going back. It started with them not being able to find our reservation and denying us a table. After finding their mistake, we waited almost 10 minutes for a server to greet us. They have no liquor for cocktails, just wine, which for some reason also took too long. The food selection is limited, only 7 entrees. It starts with a $22 cheeseburger that is similar to McDonalds and goes up to. $64 ribeye. For dessert, you can get an incredibly average chocolate chip cookie for $4 that frankly should just be given to any customer for walking in. Of course if you check out the obnoxious furniture prices of the store, it makes sense that food is ridiculous in price as well. Now the atmosphere of a rooftop is nice and the mashed potatoes (excuse me, Yukon potato purée ) were good. Oh, and then we also waited 20 minutes for a cup of coffee at the end. Great food and atmosphere, the only knock would be the over drenched sun in the room, many people had sunglasses on inside, and the heat from the sun warmed the room quite a bit. And, the management is pretentious. Esp this one guy, Sean Hughes. These people need to realize this place isn't a fine dining experience; they sell furniture downstairs. Beautifully designed restaurant, very much LA vibe. Menu is vibrant and food is delicious, few more options wouldn't hurt but overall great. Unfortunately it is really loud there, you cannot even hear yourself talk. And The Real Housewives of Western Suburbs don't make it any quieter, of course. Also the staff is not as polished, kind and accommodating as it was in the beginning when they first opened. Everyone seems to be tired or just annoyed doing their job. Let's hope they can polish off their hospitality skills soon and match the great surroundings and tasty food! read more

We were very disappointed. I put in the reservation notes that we were celebrating our anniversary, and the server nor the waiter made any mention of if. When we walked in we were greeted by 2 very cold hostesses who seemed to truly hate their jobs. Their attitude when we walked in was almost that we were inconveniencing them as we were checking in. As we walked through the restaurant I noticed that the tables are crammed in very close to each other. The restaurant packs their guests in there like sardines. Then we got to our table which was shoved in the back corner of the restaurant. Typically when my husband or I make a note in the reservation that we are celebrating something, we are congratulated and given priority seating. We received neither of those things. We sat down and ordered our drinks with an appetizer, but the bar service was extremely slow. The drinks finally arrived after we finished our appetizer. Not to mention they don't have a cocktail menu, which was very surprising considering their prices. Throughout our meal we were swatting away flies and gnats.....disgusting. My husband ordered the steak "medium", and it came out "well done". Our server, Quinn, noticed what a terrible time we were having and offered us a free dessert, which was a nice touch. As if the flies swarming us during our meal wasn't enough to ruin our appetites, the hostess starts cleaning the floor and chairs next to us with a very loud vacuum. I don't know about you, but when I go to a restaurant with a dress code and spend almost $300 on a dinner for 2, I prefer not to have someone literally vacuuming inches away from me. My girlfriends and I just want there for a girls brunch on Saturday. The place was fun, boujee yet really down to earth. The food was amazing, I would have to say that the drink variety is kind of lacking (why I gave it a 4 star). I think they only had wine available which is awesome for those people who like wine but some of my friends only drink cocktails so that was a true bummer. I will have to say, the service was top notch, the servers were friendly, warm and kind anticipating our every need. Which sort of made up for the lack of variety on their menu. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a fun night out with friends or a significant other. OH! I would say that they really should have outdoor dinning, such a missed opportunity, they have these awesome outdoor couches which would be perfect on a beautiful summer day. I normally don't ever write reviews but I'm not gonna lie I'm really disappointed. I made reservations for 8:15pm a week before. We didn't get seated until 8:45. Sat down and waited another 20 minutes until a server came by to tell us the kitchen would be closing in 3 minutes. Ordered two 36 dollar salmon and both were raw (literally) I unfortunately ate it anyway because it's not like I never eat sushi so I thought it'd be fine and I felt bad. Now it's the day after and I have food poisoning. I hope it was just an off night but honestly for how expensive everything was and how terrible the service was there's a 0% chance I'll be back here.
