The food was okay, decent burger with fresh veggies, average fries and onion rings but the service was lacking, and the place was really dingy. You'll be greeted with friendly service in a coffee-shop atmosphere. Old school. This ain't no Burger Fi. But then again Rhea's burger will stack up nicely, if not plainly, against its nouveau competitors. And at about half the price (less than $9 for double meat Rhea's special burger, fries. and a drink). At the grill you'll see handmade, fresh burgers being cooked up. I ask for grilled rather than raw onions. No problem. The Rhea's special burger comes on sliced bread while the regular burgers come on the traditional buns. Nothing fancy. Just good burgers. It would be nice to have hand cut, fresh fries that rival the freshness of the hamburgers. Unfortunately you'll find only 3.5 star frozen crinkle cut french fries. Not bad, but they could be so much better! If you'd prefer, get the onion rings. Drinks are standard fountain fare with the addition of house made sweet tea. So Rhea's offers great value in a homey atmosphere. Not an impress-your-date place, but a good, friendly place to grab a no nonsense lunch. read more

There are four Rhea's locations in North Fulton (that I know of) The burgers here are actually pretty decent, I'll grant them that, but they are not better than Five Guys nor worthy of all the hype I hear from people. And the fries here are horrible. Get the onion rings if you do go. read more

Food was ok. Burger needs thicker meat, if we'd known we would've ordered extra meat. The waiter placed his forehead in the edge of our table twice while we were ordering (which took all of 2min). We ask to not put lemon on our water glass and he answered not so very nice "we don't use lemon". This has become my "go-to" burger joint...for just that...a burger and fries. Nothing fancy...REALLY nothing fancy...but...just an outstanding burger with decent fries. I get the Special Burger...which is two patties with lettuce, tomato, onion on Texas Toast as opposed to a bun. Just get it their way...and do not fight it... Did I mention that it was just a GREAT burger...the fries are crinkle fries that have been frozen. They do a good job of preparing them, but, they are basic fries...nothing more or less. Places like this are the reason why I have to spend so much time in the gym. Now, this is good greasy food. While I sat at the counter watching my order be prepared I seriously had thoughts about my high cholesterol. I think I've blown my fat intake for the rest of January. Salad it is! I had the double cheeseburger with bacon and every topping except tomatoes (I'm so glutton - I feel ashamed even writing this) and fries. I got mine to go. I got here at around 1pm. There were a steady flow of customers and plenty of available seating. I definitely wouldn't say this is the most "visually appealing" place I have ever ordered food from but the manager/owner/whoever he was was constantly cleaning and wiping stuff so I felt better. I really didn't think the burger was going to be as good as all these yelpers were going on about but I was totally wrong. It was fabulous! The fries were just as fabulous. I will be back. First time customer, Well was gonna be a first time customer but when I called in my order the "Manager" was yelling and telling me to hurry up mind you Im ordering for everyone in my shop as Im telling him the order he hangs up on me. So I call the owner at Rheas 1 who tells me he wont do anything about the problem and F*** me and some more vulgar words. So good! I had a basic burger and fries with a drink. Not much to say except it was very good, and I thought reasonably priced. Everything's totally made to order. Staff was super nice. Not a ton of seating, but when I was there, there weren't many people anyway. They have a lot outside for the strip mall so there's plenty of parking. read more

I love a big fat bleedy burger with minimal accoutrements. I like meat. Why else eat a burger? I like it raw a la tartare as well. However, Rhea's burger is almost nerve wrackingly weird AND delicious. They remind me of how mom would make em with bread and stuff in them to thin them out, but they would still be really kinda small and wussy, but she put that "something" in there that made them taste so dang right. That is what these are like. I have even watched them make them in the near ghosttown of the Rheas near me, but still I can not ascertain what causes my joy in these little meat mysteries. This place is great. First, if you are looking for high class, keep on looking. This is a hole in the wall joint, but they do you right. The staff is super friendly, and seems pretty good at remembering regular's orders. The food was delicious. Just a good ol' diner style flat top burger with fresh toppings and a soft sesame seed bun. The fries, like others have stated, are just frozen krinkle fries, but they cook them just right. The sweet tea is also pretty good. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger on a bun (you can get it on french bread, think BBQ style break slices). The bacon was crispy and yum, burger cooked just right and the toppings were all fresh and crisp. I came here after passing this place hundreds of times and finally gave it a try because of reviews. I would surely say it meets the criteria of a hole in the wall. The environment is slightly dingy and only moderately clean, but most of all, it just feels old and run-down. The only staff member was very friendly and welcoming. He seemed to wear all the hats for this location, but then again, I went at an off hour. I ordered a Jimmy Rhea double which is a cheeseburger on hoagie bread and got fries and a drink. The fries were total crap - just frozen, out-of-bag crinkle fries with no seasoning, but honestly that's okay. I came for the burger. It wasn't half bad. If I had to compare, the flavor was similar to a Five Guys burger. That said, the price was fair (I think I paid $8.80 for burger, fries, and drink), but was it really any better than Five Guys; let alone another burger joint? Not in my estimation. Rhea's is the real deal - the place you go to get a perfectly balanced burger without all of the frills of today's overpriced burger joints. Burger: I ordered the Rhea's Special Cheeseburger, double patty, with bacon with all the fixings. It is served on French bread. Hold the judgement until you try it! The thin patties are perfectly cooked with seared edges but without foregoing juiciness. The veggies are fresh, and the condiments plentiful. Fries and Drink: The fries are crinkle cut, and nicely crunchy. All tables have those old-school squeeze bottle ketchups that dispense fine streams of ketchup to coat the fries, or provide a nice accompaniment to the burger. Also, the drinks are served with ice that has the consistency of shaved ice - it melts in your mouth as your are drinking your soda or tea. Ambiance: This is not a fancy place. You don't need to go here to be seen. You go here for a damn good burger. There's nothing pretty about this place. It reminds me of my days in the Navy eating in the galley on the ship. Nothing is fancy and all the condiments are at the table. You go here to eat and leave! It's not a sit-down, stay awhile kind of spot. The Rhea's Special Cheeseburger is less than $5. This burger place reminds me of my absolute favorite burger place, hamburger hut, which closed suddenly and unexpectedly a couple years ago. I had the special with an extra patty with bacon and it was absolutely delicious!!! It was juicy, the bread was toasted well but not burnt and the bacon just added to the wonderful flavor of the hand-formed patties! Just a warning the burgers are definitely not lean meat so they're a bit greasy but that doesn't bother me since it is a burger with fries. The fries I got were cooked to order, previously frozen fries. They were decent but really went well with the burger. The other thing I love about this place is its very reasoned priced. My burger, which had everything available on it, costed about $8. The regular special burger without the extra patty and bacon costs about $5.50. I will definitely be coming back here, even though I live downtown! It's completely worth the drive! And I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a decently price, delicious meal!! read more

I was feeling like a burger for lunch and I wanted something local, so I headed over to the inconspicuous location at a little strip mall on Alpharetta Highway called Rhea's 2. Upon walking into the small space, it had the feel of a small office converted into a poor-man's diner, which was weird for me because I always considered a diner a poor-man's restaurant, but I digress. I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered the #1, with cheese, bacon and double meat. I figured if I am going to take a break from healthy eating don't just dip a toe in, cannonball my brother, so I did. With some onion rings thrown in for good measure. The presentation of the meal matches the decor, simple, nothing unnecessary and solid. This is the type of no thrills, basic burger give it to me on a paper plate, no we don't have cloth napkins you must be lost type of joint. It hit the spot, it was good and as much of a burger snob that I am, this is a nice change of pace from the gastropub kobe beef infused with leprechaun tears burgers I usually order. To Recap: The Good: Tastes the way a burger should taste, onion rings are fried, so by definition they were tasty. The price can't be beat as well. If you are on a budget and have a good health care plan, I would add it to your rotation. The Bad: It is a true hole in the wall, which comes with the standard pluses & minuses of such a place. Rheas is a good find. I had the Jimmy's special burger and onion rings. The burger was a hand formed patty served on toasted BBQ bread with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and mustard. They cook the patty on a flat top grill, it was very tender and was not greasy. They onion ring were prepared well, they were crispy and had a good flavor. Over all the food was good and prepared well. The restaurant is in an older building, and could use a little brightening up. They had a good health score of 90. Rheas seems to be a favorite of the locals as they were pretty busy the whole time that we were there. Even with them being busy and only 2 people working the service was quick and good. read more

First timer. When I pulled up I thought the place was shut down because the place was closed up compared to the welcoming signs and wide open doors of the pizza place right next door. And before I could walk in, a man walked passed me and said "they have the best burgers in town!!" Anyway, to my surprise, for it's setting it was not steamy and hot inside. You could actually sit in there and manage not to smell like you've been on the grill with your food. I got the Rhea's special with the french bread. I see where they make their money because you NEED to order an extra patty in order to take up the whole sandwich. But I liked the concept of the french bread...crispy, but soft on the inside. I love hole-in the wall anything. I just moved into the neighborhood and saw that they had great reviews so I stopped in. I called my order in advance, it wasn't ready. Apparently the main cook was out so they had a guy wearing no gloves and no apron making the sandwiches. He was making an order (not mine) and he kept wiping his hands on the dirty towel and then touching the food he was making. The only good thing about this place is it's a local spot and the workers positive energy. If you want a simple cheese burger with lettuce and tomatoes, this is your spot. Greasy and unhealthy. Not to mention the fries they gave me, which were fresh bc I watched them, were dry and unsalted. I don't know how you can mess up fresh fries smh. Definitely disappointed.
