First time at the east side location. I'm a fan of the west side location so I was a bit skeptical. First off the room and space were great. Classic bench style seats in the middle and standard chairs and tables surrounding. No armrests on the chairs, something I definitely appreciate it as a big fella. Our waitress Mariam was fantastic. Patient and checked up on us often. I was pretty hungry so I went ahead and ordered a classic spud. The Fourth Spud was great. Served hot and loaded with plenty of brisket. It's definitely a shareable platter for even the heartiest of eaters. I ended up taking half home. I would say the only drawback would be not having enough space for some peach cobbler. We would come here pretty often, especially being closer to this location. Today, they lost a consistent customer. Food took 40 minutes to come out. Wife ordered medium steak which came out well done. When we told the waiter, her steak came out five minutes later. The same one lol. So now the steak is really well done. Don't know how you can use the same steak to go back in time and go back to medium. SMH they were also out of a bunch of random stuff like A1, lemons. We just wanted to leave asap once we told him it was the same steak cooked more. Won't go back again! Mixed reviews here. I went for dinner while Monday Night Football was playing. I sat myself since I was not greeted at the door. The service was phenomenal. The manager even dropped by the table to check on things. I ordered a 3 meat combo plate of brisket, sausage, and ribs. Sausage tasted like Hillshire that you would buy in the grocery store. Brisket was tasty, not moist, but tasty. My least favorite item was the ribs. They were just too touch for my liking. The mac and cheese side selected was too overcooked and mushy. My sister is here visiting from Cali, and wanted to try some of the food in El Paso. I warned her that out here you have to actually search for good food because it is far and in between and unfortunately her very first meal was terrible lol....ok so we heard from a few people that this place would be good which we were excited about because our first attempt at bbq was a BUST (Rudy's ) we got there and were seated within 5 minutes, ok awesome! Our waiter Adrian (I believe) was EXTREMELY nice, he was very knowledgeable of the menu, and what specials/promotions they had going on. My wife was a little overwhelmed at how almost aggressive he was with the promotion as he mentioned "it's rib night" at least 5/6 times in the 3 minutes he spoke to us, I didn't mind too much, I figured his managers probably trained him that way idk ‍ either way it didn't really bother me. While our order was being prepped we got our drinks (waters) pretty quick, after being served the drinks Adrian comes and asks if we're doing ok, and of course it is. As the current customers that are seated behind us gets up to leave our whole bench starts moving lol....their bench and ours seem to be one whole piece so anytime we/they move it causes the other party's bench to move as well. We didn't like that very much especially when another couple came, sat down, realized it moved and the couple switched seats with each other so it moved again and again . Ok now our food has come out and it looks good, but when we eat it we are ALL slapped with disappointment . I ordered a small 2 meat combo chicken/brisket with mac and cheese and beans, my wife got sausage/brisket with beans and mac and cheese, and my sister got chicken/ribs with corn on the cob, and mac. My sister and I felt obligated to get at least 2 orders of the "promotional ribs" so we did. I got the beef rib, and she got the spare/baby back. The entire meal I mean ALL of the meat was extremely dry and very tough to eat. The brisket had way too much pepper as that's all we tasted, the chickens flavor wasn't the worst but it was so dry it literally was inedible. The sausage my wife got actually wasn't that bad, but I don't eat links/sausages like that so ehh....the beef rib hardly had any meat on it. It was just a huge bone with a ton of fat. The spare/baby backs had to be the best flavored meat because they glaze it with a honey sauce so it tasted different from everything we had, but even that was tough as leather smh. The mac and cheese had to be the most bland thing I've ever had. I mean it didn't even taste like they seasoned the water ‍. My sister ate a couple bites and was done with it lol. She LOOKED at the corn and was like "no" they put seasoning salt directly ON the corn as opposed to salting the water, and she just wasn't with it. I took a bite and honestly it just tasted like an over salted super mushy mess. The beans were so bad I had to ask for something else....I ended up getting a loaded baked potato which literally came out within 30-45 seconds. I was like "damn that was fast!" But once I dug my spoon in I knew why. Not only was the potato NOT hot, it didn't even seem cooked all the way! My wife didn't like her beans either but she was just tired at this point and was over complaining and just the whole dinner. Even the water tasted funny . It tasted like faucet water but not even the ice made it taste good, and I love me a good glass of faucet water with a ton of ice lol. Oh I forgot the bbq sauce! It was HORRIBLE! Definitely wasn't bbq sauce lol. It tasted like ketchup and vinegar or something. We were not having it so we didn't even touch it. We packed up our food after taking little bites thinking we could just make our own bbq sauce and it would spruce it up...NOPE! Although our bbq sauce was WAY better, and it did in fact change the flavor of the meat, when we went to heat it up since it was already tough to begin with adding more heat literally killed everything ! It was so dry WE ALL ended up giving our plates to the dogs well not my brisket. I chopped it up and added it to the potato and drenched it in our bbq sauce but everything else went to the dogs. They LOVED all the meat/rib bones they got lol. Needless to say no matter how good the customer service was we will NOT be back! Im very disappointed... I've been to this location before at night and it was pretty busy so I sat at the bar top as usual-service was great. Bartender very fast friendly. It was good inspite of it being busy. Nice right. I just stopped by about 30 min ago for a late lunch .... sat at the bar top..... sat there...... sat there .... ... and sat there..... it wasn't busy at all. The kitchen was jumping the servers were running around. I was the only one at the bar top...... and nothing .... bartender never acknowledged me. To b honest I'm not sure WHO was the bartender. A guy who looked like a manager came from behind the kitchen. Got a server's drink order for wine and still nothing. A couple of servers walked behind the bar and nothing. There was a girl inside the bar at the end counting a drawer and nothing. I saw them try the potatoe soup - dont add pepper......and still NOTHING. I was starting to doubt my own existence. The only reason I know I was there is because the hostess did greet me.... SHE saw me ..... why did no one else ?? Not sure what happened there. I sat there for about 10 mayb 12 min. Looking around watching TV giving someone anyone a chance to acknowledge me. NOTHING So I left. The only reason I gave this experience 2 stars is because the hostess did HER JOB and greeted me acknowledged me and when I left said bye. I'll make sure not to go when it's dead. Lesson learned. Ever since they opened they have not had functioning AC, as a customer it is horribleI can just imagine how bad it is for the employees.
