The best go-to fast-casual Thai place I've found in the area. The restaurant front is small, but the wok is mighty. We ordered the shrimp and chicken in lobster sauce and pad thai. The portions are decently sized for the price, especially the entrees. The pad thai was so tasty especially the fried tofu that it comes with. The noodles are flavorful and have a "wok-flavor." It's a classic pad thai that is done right with red cabbage, bean sprouts and lime on the side. It will probably be my new go-to place for pad thai. The shrimp and chicken was sweet and saucy. It's ground chicken and juicy shrimp in a sweet sauce that you can pour over rice to soak up flavor. It's quite tasty, and I'm eager to try the other entrees. The entrees are slightly larger portions than the noodle dishes because it comes with rice on the side. The food was ready very quickly probably around 15 minutes, and we had no issues with ordering. read more

Delicious food! The shu mai is definitely a standout. Their pad thai was also well seasoned and super tasty. Fair warning: I am accustomed to very, very, very spicy food usually and maybe it was just one of those days in the kitchen but I could not handle the thai spicy and basically had to get rid of all my fried rice. I could tell the flavor was definitely there hiding underneath but it just came out too hot that time so take it under consideration. The restaurant is definitely more of a pick-up/delivery place because there really isn't that good of an ambiance to dine-in. They only have takeout menus that are outdated and don't include all ordering options, so the best place to look at the most up-to-date menu is online, though I had bad signal while there so it was hard for me to look it up online and I had to use my friend's phone to look. There are many food and drink options to choose from--truly a takeout type of place. You order the food at the front and pay ahead of time. I got the crispy curry noodles and horchata thai tea. The food was OK and the portion is generous but I did not quite enjoy the taste all that much and it did not taste that great as leftovers either. The horchata thai tea didn't taste all that special either. The prices are reasonably cheap though so I would consider going back and trying a different dish and drink! read more

My opinion is based on a grubhub delivery order, I've never been to this restaurant in person, so I can't speak for the experience dining in. I ordered a small tomyum soup with shrimp, a crazy noodle and chicken fried noodles. When I got the food, it was so oily that the bag was soaked in it. The tomyum soup was pretty good, a little on the sweet side but I like the balance of sweet and spicy. The shrimp was clearly frozen shrimp, not fresh as I hoped. When I got to the crazy noodle, it was just so oily that I had to put the food on a plate because the plastic container was drenched. The flavor was good, don't get my wrong, however, I'm just not sure it's supposed to be THIS oily. Not sure if it's just the day or what. The good flavor was the only thing keeping it from getting a 1 star. Really had high hopes for this place but very disappointed. read more

Delicious Thai food with every item you'd expect on a Thai menu and then some. I always get pad see ewe and it is a great potion and always HOT (temperature-wise. You can ask for spice and they will definitely add some). I was curious and tried the chive dumplings and wow, those are simple but super yummy! And again, served piping hot. Rice & Noodles: The name is unassuming and the building facade won't stop you in your tracks. However, these are not the reasons I get take-out food. I get take-out because I am craving foods that will make my belly happy. And this place does not disappoint. I live in the neighborhood and have ordered twice since they opened just over a month ago. I had the Panang Curry (tofu), Yellow Curry (beef), Pad Thai (chicken and tofu), Crab Rangoon, and Tom Kar Soup (tofu). Let me break it down for you: the portion sizes are more than decent, the prices are fair, the order is ready to pick up in 15 minutes, the cashier is welcoming, and the food exceeded my expectations. What makes it so good? The food isn't soaked in grease or oversalted/sweet like some places. The veggies in the dishes, despite being coated in flavorful sauce or soup, taste fresh. The tofu in the Pad Thai is especially delcious. Of course, this is not ritzy downtown Thai but for take-out Thai, I am impressed. There are some people who might prefer more Americanized flavors in their Pad-Thai (ketchup? ew... get out of Chicago.) But for those of you who've been to Thailand or appreciate Thai street foods, it's not 100% authentic but it comes pretty close for the little unassuming joint across from a couple Art galleries and a brewpub. I'll start off by saying that the owner who's the young lady that takes the orders is very pleasant. She does not even charge you for broccoli when you ask her too add it to your order. This place is not a penny pinching restaurant. "Oh you want two forks in the bag it's 50cents type of place" The food is delicious. I ordered Thai spicy chicken fried rice. Full of flavor, nice and robust. I also enjoyed a shrimp Thai fried rice , which was flavorful. But I have to say I really liked the pepper sautéed shrimp over a bed of rice. Man was that good. Ordered pad see ew with chicken, baby egg rolls and basil fried rice, I felt that it was all lacking in flavor, almost as if they forgot to season the food. I am a huge fan of Thai food and have dined in many local Thai restaurants around chicago, I definitely feel like this place is cheap in terms of price per dish, you can get a nice meal for $10-$12 and that's a pretty good deal especially during this time, but the favor definitely is lacking for me. My husband and I have tried a few things from here so I'll just review them all. -So far my favorites things on the menu are the crab Rangoon and the chicken Thai fried rice. Great flavors for both! -The chicken pad Thai has a unique taste. It's good but not the best Ive ever had. -My husband also tried the crazy noodles and those were good as well! -I've had the orange chicken entree and I think that's been my least favorite so far. I'd prefer a crunchier sauce for the orange chicken. I also had no idea that the entree comes with a side of white rice and steamed broccoli. They should really include that information on the menu because I ordered way too many sides without realizing it. -Skip the mini egg rolls, they have no flavor or crunch they almost taste like microwave egg rolls. Big fan of Thai food. First time going to Rice and Noodles. Ordered a soup and two noodle dishes for the family. Food was so overly sweet, it was borderline un eatable. Go here if you would like all your dishes to taste like pure sugar - imagine someone accidentally spilled a cup of sugar into every dish and said here you go - that's how everything tastes. My two favorite food categories are noodles and anything over rice, so I was really excited to try Rice & Noodles! We ordered pickup on a Friday evening and our order was ready in record time. My SO had the chicken pad see-ewe which was a little bland but the flavor that was there was good! I had the chicken garlic noodles which were also decent. However, they really made up for it with their crab rangoons! My SO is a rangoon fiend so he always orders them whenever they're on a menu. He gave these the stamp of approval and said they're probably the best he's had in the city! They were really quick, I think in all I waited maybe 35 minutes from placing my order through Yelp and dinner to be in my hand. I got Pad See Ew with chicken and asked for it spicy in the comments. It was spicy - like the perfect amount. I love spicy food but I don't want it to burn my tongue off. This was a really enjoyable amount of heat. My boyfriend ordered the beef Thai fried rice. Honestly, best, fluffiest, freshest fried rice we've ever had. Great flavor, wasn't super greasy, but still gives you that nice, warm, comforting fried rice feeling.
