In the Ranchos today for library story-time with my youngest and Papa was hungry. Tried this spot after reading some Yelp reviews. Reviewers didn't lie, this really is a great spot to eat. Clean interior, fun art on the walls, delicious smells coming out of the kitchen, fast & friendly service. Wanted the pork cutlet lunch, but I didn't take into account extra time to cook pork so I went with spicy chicken teriyaki. Took the man behind the counter's recommendation of bacon fried rice...Delicious!!! Spicy chicken was so tender and delicious with a nice bit of heat. Got a couple of egg rolls too, they also didn't disappoint. Overall great first time experience eating here, food was on point!! Will definitely come back when I have more time and order the pork cutlet. read more

Really good food. I was not sure what to expect, usually small communities with small restaurant tend to slap things together and call it good food. But this a really interesting spot. The owner is Vietnamese so the are a ton of south East Asian foods on the menu. There is spring rolls and Japanese Foods on menu too. The South East Asian adopt lots of food to there menu. So there's a twist fusion going on in this restaurant. I was really happy with it. I prefer this style of cooking over traditional Chinese food. I recommend you try every thing. Spring Rolls go fast. Told me 20 minutes and I have now been waiting here for close to an hour... very disappointing when they lie to your face especially when you have things to do and places to go, which is why I asked how long it would take so I can accommodate . By far the BEST restaurant in Madera. I've been to The Rice Bowl for years and have never had a bad order. The Chow Mein is amazing as well as the bacon fried rice! The owner is friendly, prices are great, place is always clean when I decide to go inside & the takeout wait time is never long when I take my food to go. This restaurant was recommended by my co-worker, who was raving about how good the food. I must say, I have to agree! I got a large order, so I could try different items. I paid about $25 and had enough for food for dinner for two, then leftover lunch for three, with some LEFTOVERS! Big portions and delicious food. Everyone who had some loved it. I got the spicy chicken, teriyaki chicken, Mongolian beef, bacon fried rice, chow mein, eggrolls, potstickers, and the cream cheese rangoons. None of these items disappointed, and the meat was good quality. My personal favorites was the bacon fried rice, cream cheese rangoons, and eggrolls. Will be going back. By far the best Asian food place in the entire Central Valley! I've been going for about three years now! I order their delicious bacon fried rice, pork chow mein, and Boba! They are always friendly and give great customer service when I arrive. When I do take out they always give me an accurate estimate of the time it'll take for my food to be ready, so when I arrive boom! It's there! Got lunch from here. Got an all white meat chicken bowl. The rice was overlooked and too sticky. The chicken was rubbery. The sauce was supposed to be teriyaki but didn't taste like that at all. I would not recommend it. read more
