If you have a good idea of what kind of tire you want (used/new?, brand?...) and you want good, honest service, then this is the place for you. If, however, you need a salesman to tell you what tire to buy - well, you won't find one here. These people will not try to oversell you. ... I was a bit hesitant about putting a cheap no-name tire on my car, but when the mechanic wouldn't give any reasons to spend more on name brand tires I decided I'd never know the difference anyway. ... I was wrong. The no-name tires sucked! The cornering handling was just terrible. Not to worry, because the Rich's Tire really does take customer satisfaction seriously. I did a bit of research at tirerack.com (I should have done that before I went in the first time) and found a tire that I liked with great reviews. Rich's ordered the tire I selected and had it on my car the next day, only charging me the price difference. My car and I love the new tires, and we're happy, satisfied customers. This is place offers very fast service (typically I can get out in 20 minutes or less). They seem knowledgable and very honest (i.e. don't try to sell things you don't need). Had a flat tire so I did a lookup on Google and came across the good Yelp reviews. Gave them a call, was told I could stop by any time and that the price would be between $15 and $25. When I arrived I was quoted $15 (it needed a plug) and was on my way in 10 minutes, what else ? ;-) Unlike some previous reviews they didn't check with the soapy-water test but maybe because it was straightforward enough not to need it (there was a screw in my tire). read more

Very friendly and fast service. I had a screw in the tire, and they guy offered to either plug the leak ($15) or patch from inside the tire ($25). Apparently some leaks you can only patch and can't plug. I was out within 10 minutes. read more

Paid $100 to have tires mounted and balanced. Job was done quickly, but balancing was awuful. Vehicle vibrated the sterting wheel so bad it made my hands sore. Went back the next day to have it re-done and with some attitude, an employee re-balanced the tires. Even worse! I went to an alternate shop and had it doene corectly for $75. They may be able to fix a flat in a pinch, but I would trust them for nothing more! read more

Got four tires all replaced here and it came out to about $400 (this was an average price among the places I called nearby). However, Rich's had the tire in stock, whereas other places had to order them. I got in and out in about 30 minutes (there were no other cars there being serviced). Nice guys. There's a little waiting area outdoors with a TV and lots of chairs. All in all, a nice experience I guess. read more

Excellent service. I went there today for the first time after reading the reviews here, and came home and registered at yelp just so I could give them a good review. My sidewall was bulging, and looked like the tire was about ready to explode, so I took it in at 4:30 on a Saturday. They mounted, balanced, and installed a used tire in about 15 minutes. They had a "hard to find" tire size on hand and came in under the price of other places by $50-70 dollars. I didn't use Yelp when the "inside duel flat tire" nightmare happened, and had to have it towed just to get the spare put on since I had no hydraulic bottle jack! I have driven past Rich's numerous times when heading to the "Best Burrito" in town, but it was word of mouth that had me look them up. Yelp's reviews are what brought me in and the fact that they told me clearly that they had a 20 ton hydraulic bottle jack to use with RV's. I wish I had found them weeks ago! Good service, but they didn't have a replacement lug nut that someone took off my RV a few days ago, so it's off to O'Reilly's Auto Parts! read more

Amazing quick service. Was headed down to Mtn. View from Burlingame and got a flat at 5pm on a Saturday. I was sure I would have to deal with it on Sunday, but Rich's was open and they were able to get me a new tire in about 20 minutes! Got to work.. had a flat, no spare. Called Rich's tire service as its just down the street. Service tech came out, filled the tire and said you have 10 minutes to get to the shop. So I usually don't write reviews but I was just so amazed as to how efficient these guys were. I basically needed 2 new tires. Came in first thing in the morning. They realized they didn't have my tires in stock, they ordered them and by 1:40 they called me and said they had been delivered and that I should drop by again to have them installed. I was in an out within 15 minutes no joke. As a woman, I hate dealing with car stuff but this was so easy and quick that I would highly recommend this place to anyone. This place is THE BOMB. I was so nervous about getting my tires replaced at a place that wasn't my dealership, but it turns out I clearly had nothing to worry about and was in extremely capable hands. I was supposed to get my two front tires changed for my 2008 honda civic hybrid at the dealership this morning. They quoted me about 350$ and told me they wanted to give me an alignment as well. I freaked out because as a broke student, I can't afford to just throw money around like that. After doing some research aka going to yelp, this place came highly recommended. They quoted me 169$ for both tires plus labor. when I showed up, the man (Kevin) told me that they actually didn't have the tires I requested in stock, but they have ones that are slightly more expensive. I was worried but he told me since he quoted me a specific number earlier, that he would keep it at that price. So nice. They were fast, efficient and extremely polite. read more

At the end of last snow season around April, my regular tire installer refused to re-mount my previous used summer tires due to insurance and liability issues. I have an urgent trip to go the next day. Someone recommended Rich's Tire Service. They quote $30 per tire to dismount snow tire, mount and balance my used summer tires. I was happy that someone was able to help. However, after paying the $120 fee. Things quickly went bad. The worker was not careful, he kicked on my spotless painted alloy wheels with the bottom of his sole to loosen up the wheels. He left several dotted scratches with his pry bar tool. Worst of all, the tires were not properly balanced, my car vibrates at any speed above 65 mph. I had to take the car back to my regular mechanics to re-balance. What a waste of time and money. Rich Tire is definitely the most honesty and efficient place to get you new tires. I used to go to Costco to get new tires and got tired of long waiting. After reading the review from Yelper on this store, I decided to try it. It was 8:00am on Saturday morning. Rich got all 4 new tires installed in less than 20 minutes! It's a shame no one's reviewed this place since my last review in 2009. However, I brought my car here after Sears Auto had messed up a lug nut (causing the lug nut to spin in the socket). After a short wait, one of the techs on staff worked on my wheel, explaining to me what most likely happened (Sears Auto probably used the wrong socket initially, crushing the aluminum housing of the lug nut), and offered to straighten out the lug nut's housing. The tech mentioned that I could buy a new lug nut from O'Reiley's for about $2. I asked him how much I should pay for his time, and the tech responded "don't worry about it." Wheel Works (without seeing the problem) estimated that it could take up to 2 hours of work if they had to drill out the lug nut at about $125/hour! I took time to write this review and made sure that it will be helpful to my fellow yelpers with an unbiased point of view. I am traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco, then we got stuck in San Jose because of a screw in my rear right tire. My tire pressure indicator lighted up that's why I knew that I will be flat very soon. I yelped this shop and was impressed with their rating, so I decided to go . But, when I showed to them my situation, almost flat tire (around 80% flat already) they suddenly bumped up their price from $15 to $25 . For me, it's not about the money, but it's about the truthfulness how they do business. By the way, there is a big sign there "flat tire repair $15". I ended up agreeing with their offer though it is a crooked policy to take advantage on my situation. Probably they knew that I am not a local there that's why. I dont know about other yelpers who review five star here, but in my case honesty is the best policy. I will give 1 star for them and another 1 star because their service is fast, but not that good because they did not even check the rest of my tires if the pressure is ok. I had a flat tire in Palo Alto that was so low I couldn't drive on it and the wheel wouldn't come off when I tried to change it. (So much for being resourceful!) I called Rich's Tire Service and within 20 minutes Danilo had arrived. Instead of just putting on the spare, he was able to find two TINY pieces of metal that had caused the leak and patched them on the spot. My wheel was fixed and back on my car in another 20 minutes. On their web site they state that they open at 7 am. The hours posted on the offiice door are the same. At 7:30 am there was no one in the store. Above the store there is a huge sign with two telephone numbers. I decided to call. The 650 did not answer and it did not even have an answering machine. The 408 one (advertised as a cell phone) had a greeting in Spanish only. I left a message asking when the store opens today, on Thursday. Never got a response. Two other customers were stood up as well, when I was there. The site looked filthy. Peeking through the office door, there was unfinished food on the table. Requested a tire rotation and they merely swapped the fronts with the backs. What kind of tire shop doesn't do a proper rotation? That's just lazy work for the guy manning the floor jack. After contemplating a 1.5 hour wait at Wheelworks, I received a hot tip and decided to give Rich a shot. As I lobsidedly bounced in on my spare, he signaled for me to drive up to their garage. I parked and hopped out. he was already trying to open my trunk, as he somehow clairvoyantly sensed the whereabouts of my defunct tire. I opened it for him. He pulled the tire out and started taking it into the garage. Then came the first words spoken this far, "15 dollars". He removed a screw, patched up the hole, dunked it in some water, and replaced my spare on the car, all in the span of 5 minutes, no joke. It took me longer than that just to put the spare back in the secret compartment in the trunk. (Those things never fit somehow.) Then came the second words of the exchange, "15 dollars." I gave him a $20 and told him to keep the change. He was grateful. I asked if this was a permanent fix and if I should test it out by driving around a bit and he looked at me like I was crazy. So I cruised off without another word, rolling along as smoothly as I ever have. read more
