So, I dropped off my car for an oil change at the Kia dealership and decided to eat at Denny's. Seeing Rick's Burgers down the street, I felt nostalgic and decided to eat there. Boy, was that the wrong move on my part! Where do I begin? Well, for starters, the place is run-down. Unless you're into early '70s décor, it's an eyesore, not to mention there's no air conditioning. So, if you dine here, drink plenty of fluids. I ordered the chorizo and egg plate that came with potatoes. If I can describe it in one word: horrible. The chorizo tasted old and chewy, and the potatoes were sliced thin and underwhelming. The only decent item was the beans; they were okay. This is definitely not the Rick's I used to go to back in the day. Don't make the mistake I made and avoid this place at all costs. I felt like I just threw away $16.49.

Ortega Breakfast is potatoes with an awesome salsa and egg with cheese, Chile and I add spinach to it and coffee .

Have been coming to Rick's since highschool always bring so much memories just to ate burger and fries with my coupon after school . Has changed so much through the years misses the Latino vibe there and the Latino music on the weekends. I'm glad food still the same.. Customer Service is awesome I know the girls and cooks for years they're always so nice .

Hard pass on this place folks

Just witnessed a shorter tan woman with dark hair all but chase what would have been a customer out the door by very aggressively calling them a hispanic curse word due to them asking if there was a restroom they could use before they ordered their meal. Us and the only other table sat just looked on in shock. We only came here because the Popping Yolk up the street (a five start spot) was slammed. First time here and urge you not to visit. Zero customer service, and slow, all while completely empty on Sunday brunch rush. The food was simply..... bad! Am by no means a coffee snob, and rarely drink it, but this coffee MUST be the powdered insta coffee because have had better coffee at a low budget hotel. Or anywhere else. Not many breakfast options around downtown Alhambra, but would suggest going, again, anywhere else.

This place is a SCAM they will tow your car even if they are closed down. Food sucks and very rude to customers they think don't have money.

Best breakfast ever! Come here every now and then and each time I leave feeling better. Cindy helped us out today and was the sweetest to us. Really made my friend and I have a good start to our day.

The wait ranges from 1.5-2 hours if you're not there at odd hours (during work hours or weekdays). Food: Matcha crème brûlée soufflé pancake: it was pretty sweet but the authentic matcha flavor came through to help balance it out. The pancake itself was so fluffy! It was pretty good. 4/5 I give it one less point only because I probably would not get it again since it was too sweet for my own liking Fried Geso was just okay. The staff is attentive and the place is cute.

My personal favorite was chai which is from a recipe from a family friend, my friends' favorites were the peach oolong, sencha with Matcha, and their rose black tea. We were able to try as many as we wanted! Service was amazing. Ellie was our host and server and she did such a great job. Truly had a hard time deciding which I liked better and I think it would just come down to what mood I'm in because both were so yummy. The French toast sticks were delicious as well. They were sweet with a nice crisp and came with a side of fruit. I didn't have high expectations for this dish and thought it would just be small pieces of French toast, but they had such a nice crisp to them. All three dishes I would order again. Chai latte was unfortunately watery--would not order again. Service 10/10 Friendly, fast service. It sounds like the staff get a lot of regulars. Service is fast-casual service where you order at the counter, take a number, food is brought to you, and you bus your own table. I got here a little after lunch on a Sunday. I went to the counter and the girl that was helping me said a few things were sold out. Totally understandable since it was past the lunch rush. A few things was an understatement, more like half the menu was sold out. I asked for the Katsu which they had listed as available. I was then told they are out of Katsu sauce. Fine, I'll take the teriyaki beef which was listed as available. I was then told they are out of teriyaki sauce. I then asked if there a was a fried rice dish that I can order. I just got a blank stare. This is not helpful at all. I was pretty annoyed. I ended up ordering the teriyaki beef with no teriyaki sauce and macadamia nut pancakes. I got the food and it was terrible. The macadamia nut pancakes were undercooked so it was doughy. The teriyaki beef had chunks of fat on it. I'm never coming to this place ever again.
