Was here on a Saturday night. My husband and I had burgers, and they were amazing. I had that Cobb burger. It was superb. The drinks were good too and all for a decent price. The atmosphere was fun. This was our third time to Ricky J's. It is pretty typical diner food. They were super friendly and very accomodating to our two small children. They brought extra crackers with my soup knowing the kids would need a little something. We were checked on by a couple of different people throughout the meal. I love the the fries, they are homemade and very yummy. I had loaded mashed potoatoes and enjoyed them. My husband got nachos and felt that they were awesome. Okay, so this isn't the most sophisticated joint in town but if you want a decent burger, good cold drinks and a really good staff...oh and a great Happy Hour selection...Ricky J's is the place...they even serve breakfast! I don't recommend the chicken fried steak but they have nice burgers, great pulled pork and the prime rib is great. They also have calamari strips that can be served with a coconut milk chili sauce that makes me glad I have taste buds. My husband and I come here for the convenience and atmosphere (we're not that sophisticated either) and sometimes a little pool. If you are sitting at work and it's that time of day when you're thinking to yourself, "Dear God I need a drink." (You know...whatever time of day that is for you...) do yourself a favor and try Ricky J's at least once. Did I mention that they have tater-tots? I've been too Ricky's a few times with and without my kids. They always can find something they want to eat on the menu and often will make cherry cokes for my middle daughter with no extra charge. Best things on the menu in my opinion are the buffalo chicken salad, coconut shrimp and just about every burger with fries. Went to a couple of UFC fights here and had a good time and some good food. I would got the Prime Rib and it was really good. No Cover for the fights reasonably priced food and drink. I will be back for the fights and stay after to see who is going to hop on the mic. read more

I don't think I have ever witnessed or been in tramautizing situation like this. So this is how it went down word for word no Exaderation. This was our first time ever we just wanted to have fun but it was a nightmare. We were sitting at a table and saw a pool table open no one was using we payed and as we were racking the balls a guy comes and says this is his pool table ok well we all started arguing we didn't know the rules and than we eventually walked away and from that moment we were being watched by security like we were trouble so we were being judged and it was really just a small argument and security talked to me and asked what happened I told him he said just stay away from the guy or apologize we just stayed away. Here's the nightmare... We were playing beer pong my husband gets cut off and he gets his bracelet cut ok no biggie he didn't say anything just whatever and we continue to play his friend than decides to pee in the corner ok that was wrong I told him not to but he did, than 5 min later a security grabs his arm cuts his bracelet off and tells him about peeing in the corner and his friend than makes a comment and said I'll pee on your face. Yes very wrong at that point the security like any other security should of just exited him out but instead grab him and threw him on the ground hard I try and approach mad and yelling scared but a security stops me by putting his hands around my neck to stop me for what and I slap his hand off and he just does it again slapped his hand off and than as I'm calling the cops I had no idea what was said or anything by my husbands friend I was focusing on my husband and trying to get out of there. Mind you it's a bar people are drunk and say and do things that are dumb well my husband was acting dumb he was mad so I calmed him down grabbed his shirt and mind you still on the phone with the cops so they are hearing everything. As I have a hold on my husband and entering inside to go to the car my husband said some words and again words are words and if the security were experienced with how to handle that they should ignore it well not the case.. Out of nowhere a security tackles my husband on the ground but mind you they didn't care or stop to see that I'm holding him trying to get him out so I'm knocked on the ground glasses fly off yelling for them to get off there were at least 4 men surrounding him one has his foot smashed on my husbands side of his face and their saying you grab his hand and well just carry him out for what he didn't bother noone he was mad at how they treated his friend like any friend would do he didn't put his hands on Noone so this was so wrong in so many ways. I finally got them to listen to get off and let me get him out like we were trying to in the first place. So were out and my husband than had 2 seizures in the parking lot we than were told by the cops who mind you searched our car because security yelled check he might have a gun because of how he was acting because he was fixing his belt and mind you security was acting as if they had guns, but they lied and got away with this.well we had no gun and they did nothing their story was so wrong and cops did nothing this was a violent bar for no reason words don't mean anything especially when u have had drinks and they should know how to deal with that in a Perfessional matter but no. So has we are leaving we find his friend who was attacked at the daycare next to the bar and we than left and the night was bad still as we were going on our way to take his friend to the hospital my husband had another seizure and I had to pull over call 911 at the hospital he had another 2 and a bad concussion he was finally released today. This is what the world is coming to like violence 2 innocent people one of those my husband and traumatizing right in the middle watching it was very sickening. Watch what you say you won't want to be attacked. I hope you all can sleep at night for what you did. This was very very wrong and this bar needs to be punished when we did nothing to deserve this. I've been looking for a good place for breakfast. This place did the trick! I ordered the county fried steak and eggs. It's one of those breakfasts that when it's good it is really good. This is the best hang out in town. Every night of the week has something different to offer from poker to karaoke. There menu is large and has many options. The staff is friendly and nice. Went there on a Saturday late morning for breakfast . Walked in sat right down ,no wait time and for me that is almost always a bad sign,but in this case not so bad .The seating is mostly booth style with some tables . There is a full bar separate from the eating portion of the restaurant . The table tops have some weird coating on them and feel sticky kinda dirty feeling kinda gross . The server was prompt . Ordered one taco salad and a cheese omelet , Food was delivered ,the dishes looked good and tasted good . The decor is car based kinda understated not sure if they are finished on that . My first time at Ricky J's was this spring, I walked in not even knowing if they would accomidate a take out order...which they did. :) I ordered philly sandwiches and a buffalo chicken salad. YUM. Very friendly welcoming atmosphere, good food. I even went back about a month later and still good food, consistant friendly service. The server was very personable and laid back, good customer service and willing to accomidate her guests to ensure a pleasant experience. I also work in Puyallup and have heard only positive feedback about the food and also the service. The owner is very customer service oriented on a professional level, and her actions are consistent in her personal life as well. To me this shows integrity and I can wholeheartedly recommend Ricky J's. I've heard the breakfast is extremely good too! read more

Well this is my first time using yelp and I got the idea from the owner of this establishment. First I'll say all staff here are cool and great at there job. However the owner isn't. I won a prize of a pull tab game a neon seahawks light. However it didn't work I was told I would have to wait till next week when the pull tab company came in to solve it. OK reasonable Monday comes and am told they should have it Tuesday. Tuesday comes and was told the company forgot it and I should get it Wednesday however they could reimbursed me some money I put in the game however I said no because I put a lot in the game $125 and I doubt they would refund that so I said I'll wait . I told the owner I'll wait so I can just get my $40 prize however I also said it would be nice if they could give a gift certificate for food or something and was told no. Being told no was OK but not good business . However the owner told me she couldn't because someone else posted on yelp or something and she's a single mom and couldn't afford to. Sorry but I was a single father for years I don't think playing I'm a single mom is a good response for a business owner getting out of making a customer happy for having to wait to get what they won it's a pity card no respectful woman or business woman should ever use even if it is true. A local favorite for me. I'm here at least weekly for the restaurant. Though I've only had breakfast or lunch and a couple appetizers. It's always been very good. The Ultimate Dip is tasty. It's marked as a favorite on the menu. and it's one of mine. All of the sandwiches I've had have been good to great. The burgers are good. They use sausage in them. That is why some say it tastes like meatloaf, and such. And, the pizza is better than most pizzas I've had from places that are not specifically pizza. And, better than some pizza chains. Mostly typical breakfast food with a few, delicious unique dishes. Portions are good. Bacon and eggs, for instance, comes with three eggs. Country fried steak is done right, and for an extra $2 you can almost double the size of it. People seem to really like their eggs bene. I have never had a problem with the food. But, I've seen them be absolutely accommodating if there was any issue, with others. I go for the bar occasionally. They have great service, most of the time. If they get a little swamped, they make up for it with their good attitude. The bartender's are good at what they do. They have the typical activities: pool, darts, karaoke, pull tabs, and an outdoor area, with a couple horse shoe courts. They have family trivia Thursday evenings, too. They usually have family something during the week. Used to be bingo. The staff really brings it together. Everyone there is so accommodating and seem genuinely happy to be there. They are quick to smile and make you feel welcome. The only things I could say are "negatives" are not really that bad. The dart boards are in the restaurant area. And, as the evening goes on it can get pretty loud. But, the kids can play, too. They have karaoke in the restaurant area, and usually loud music of any genre in the bar. With no door or barrier from one to the other, it can be pretty chaotic on the ears. When you are near the through way.. And, the horse shoes need to be more accessable. Seems like there's always a temporary awning, or something in the way this year. Go on in, and don't be afraid to strike up a conversation. We ordered their food to go. It was cold and disgusting. The food lacked flavor, it looked poorly assembled and was forgettable. It would maybe help them to not have so many different things to cook. I don't know what place those other reviewers went to, but I love this place. I have only been to the lounge, not the restaurant, but the service there is just fine. The drinks are tasty and reasonably priced, and the food is outstanding. I like to go somewhere on Sundays to watch the Seahawks games, and this has become my place of choice. It may well be the best kept secret in Puyallup. Come for the food, you won't be sorry. read more

Went to try this place for the 1st time, entered to the lounge area,not busy at all sat for 15 minutes no one came to our table, got no water no menu and absolutely no service at all! I did see about 3 waitresses at a table next to us taking their food to other patrons we were NEVER acknowledged so we left and took our business elsewhere. Our service was friendly and fast however the food was overcooked and we were unable to finish our meal.

We ordered the Philly and the Club, the food was amazing. I kid you not you have to try food here as I guarantee you will not walk away disappointed!!!! Fries were home made and full of flavor. However I caught my self swiping a few Onion Rings off the wife's plate. If I had to pick, Fries are awesome but the Onion rings are better! It took us about 15 min to get our food and the waitress was a sweetheart. Family owned and employees seem to care as were check on multiple times by multiple servers. The restaurant also offers a nice bar with two pool tables and a jukebox. After 9pm the Restaurant side goes karaoke after and by 10pm both sides were packed. Pricing was about average. There's no shortage of meat on the sandwiches and when they say loaded in cheese they mean it! The philly was full of flavor, the beef n blue looked amazing, it lacked a tad in flavor but dipped in Au jus was good. The ultimate dip had good flavor and lots of meat....tons of melty cheese!! Went to have dinner & watch the Husky game. While eating, a guy walked around & handed out tickets saying there would be a drawing during half time & after the game with prizes. Half time came & went with no drawing. The game ended with no drawing. We asked the waitress what was going on & she said they already did the ticket drawing & there were winners. TOTAL LIE! We were there the entire game & there was never an announcement reading off ticket numbers. The ticket drawing is nothing but a ploy to keep you there. I actually wrote a review on Ricky J's a good year or more ago and I am happy to say that my experience the last 3 times has been completely different. The fries are no longer soggy but fantastic; they are almost as good as my alltime favorite beer battered fries at The Rock. The karaoke sound system actually works; there isn't a whole lot of annoying feedback w/ squeeling and I could hear the singers well. They have trivia night on Wednesdays and it's actually really fun and laid back. I continue to get this really cute waiter guy and he is on the ball, friendly and quick w/ my drink refills. I plan on making this one of my new hang-outs. read more

My friends and I decided to give Ricky J's a try. We seated ourselves and had to wait 20 to 30 minutes for our waitress. We had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for our drinks to come. The food came soon after our drinks and was OK but not great. It's over-priced to say the least. The waitress was not on the ball, we had to wait after each drink for her to come take our order. We finally skipped her and went directly to the bartender to get our own drinks. Everything about my experience there left a bad taste in my mouth, we will not be returning. read more
