I stopped in for breakfast Saturday. Three strikes and you're out! 1. The sign at the entrance advised me to wait to be seated. After 5 minutes a server told me to just find a place. Easy to do because your place was nearly empty, but frustrating. 2. 10 minutes after seating myself an unmasked server (aren't they currently mandatory indoors?) came by and asked what I'd like to drink, I asked for water to start and a menu. 3. 10 minutes later no water or menu. I am basing the 4 stars off of the bar food and Mary and Jake. Great bartender/ servers. We tend to come in on Sunday's for breakfast. They have excellent breakfast options and it tastes great! I love eggs Benedict and they have a couple versions, but you can add anything. Spinach dip and the sandwiches are really good also. They have pizza and salad options. Pull tabs are always fun and Mary puts the game on where you want it. Half of the bar is a restaurant so if you want to bring kids you can. The evening crowds can get sketchy which is usually why we don't visit at that time. There are some interesting women with their Vape units and goth style who tend to get rowdier than most. Personally Vape's should still be used outdoors but that's because I don't feel like breathing in your flavored nasty exhales. A far better bar in the day hours. read more

I don't think I've ever given a one star review. But, I'm definitely thinking about it. Poor service, poor food and a poorly decorated interior. Lots of room in the parking lot though. So, if they ever decide they want to be the beloved neighborhood pub their location could surely support, the possibilities are endless. We ordered a double decker with fries, the ultimate dip with tater tots, and nachos. Before tipping the total came to about $41. We really wanted to like it. We have had the breakfast in the past and it was pretty good but all and all wouldn't recommend it as a viable dinner option. The burger patties were pretty tough and dry (maybe seasoned too early?) but had ok flavor. The condiments and buns were ok, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to save the sandwiches. The tater tots were pretty dark and had tasted like the fryers were past due for an oil change. The fries were cold and stale, but tasted better than the tots. Seasoning on both were fine. The chips in the nachos were very stale and overall the nachos looked like what you could expect from a school cafeteria and not at a restaurant for $12. Also literally no one was masked. Not the wait staff, not the people up and walking to the restroom, no one. I know at this point the CDC guideline says fully vaccinated people don't have to wear a mask inside some establishments but since Yelp says Ricky J's is masking, I thought it was worth mentioning. read more

For a bar, their menu is pretty big. It actually looked like a few things I would have loved to try. They had several hamburgers, sand whites, salads and entree choices. I don't think you could go wrong here if you need somewhere quick for lunch. Seating is more like a bar with some booths but it's differently like a dive bar. Horrid. Cigarette steam filled in the lounge - and I mean a LOT of tobacco - I live with a smoker - that's bad enough when you have lupus - but I tried to go to the bar to order a coke and was almost knocked over for the headache that slammed me to the ceiling. I tried to stick it out - I thought maybe - but no, I couldn't even get the attention of the bartender who was really going through that cash register screen like a strange person who didn't know the screen at all. Then the security guy that is oggling her and I am not sure what else he was doing but there were several of us at the bar and not one was asked if they needed anything in the 3-4 minutes I could stand to be there. Send the smokers OUTSIDE and comply with the LAW. This is not the only business that has forgotten there are others besides smokers and some who are chronically ill who can't even enter a building with that much blatant contamination. *ADDENDUM* The man was sitting across from me smoking from a VAPE TOBACCO PEN!!! I am not an idiot and I AM HIGHLY ALLERGIC to tobacco! There was more than one person using a smoking pen at the bar - at LEAST two people were sitting there STEAMING THEIR TOBACCO AND AEROSOL-IZING IT TO EVERYONE ELSE. Vape PENS are meant for HEALTHY substances NOT for TOBACCO TO MAKE SURE ALL ARE CONTAMINATED BY THEM. You could have said anything EXCEPT that I was MISTAKEN - that is the mark of an OWNER who is NEVER THERE and who NEVER KNOWS what his "employees" are allowing to happen. YOUR BARTENDER SMOKES - so how in the WORLD are they supposed to be able to TELL if someone is using a tobacco vape pen?????? Not only did you basically call me a liar, you also ignored the fact that your bartender is ignoring customers while your security does the same. This bar has serious issues - not the least of which an owner deeply in denial - I can read the reviews... -THIS was my THIRD time there and I felt like a stranger and not wanted each and every time - ignored, ignored and abused by tobacco users who can't follow the law and an owner who just keeps making excuse after lame excuse. I have ate here a few times because it's close to home. It's spotty service at best. I've been served burnt food on multiple occasions, with explanations that acknowledged that they knowingly served burnt food. This last visit was the worst yet, and absolutely the reason we will never return. We came for breakfast, right off the bat we both were served food that was incorrect. They replaced mine but just looked at my boyfriend like they didn't know what he expected them to do. They gave us some oddly disarrayed potatoes. They gave us A-1 that they had dumped water into, over cooked steak, disgusting bland separated hollandaise sauce. After this horrible two hour event I eventually had to chase down the waitress to pay our bill. That took another 15 minutes. Then the waitress came back to ask how we wanted the bill to be rung up. Omg, this was a painful experience. We will not be back, not ever and I suggest unless you are just going for drinks, skip this place unless you are craving frustration and crappy food. read more

Standard Diner fare Went there early in the afternoon. Service was a little slow, they only had one person working the entire area. It took us about 15-20 minutes to get our food, did not think our orders were complicated. 2 burgers/sandwiches with fries and onion rings. My fries were kind of soggy, so they were not that good. I had the big block burger, and it was pretty good The decor was nascar, this place seems to be the spot for Nascar it looks like. Also the Lounge has 2 pool tables. All in All it was a 'decent' experience. Service was long and the fries were soggy, but the burger was somewhat tasty. I might go there again in the future if I am in the area. read more

Decided to stop in after work for a first visit. I heard stories and others opinions but figured I'd try it for myself. I came at 1130 pm. Appearantly after 9pm you can only order deep fry. I was a little disappointed I couldn't try the nachos. I ordered a pitcher of Blue Moon and it was nice and cold, and an order of motzerella sticks. The motzerella sticks were good. It is a loud place. Karaoke on one side of the building and loud music on the other. Keep in mind this is a Wednesday, the people here seem and I would guess are regulars. Not very busy, I thought it would be a lot bigger in here based on the outside but it's really not. It's not small but just not what I was expecting a weird layout/arrangement. The staff seem very nice and friendly. Based on what I heard from others I guess I kinda expected what I experienced. Looking at their website I expected something a whole lot better. Maybe I will have to cone back during the day to see? Part of me wants to say 2 stars but I cant. I'd say it's more 2.5 and that's only because based on the website I expected more. It wasn't a bad experience however listing to two different songs at the same time really messed with my A.D.D. First time for my wife and I after we read about this place on Yelp. The best nachos I've had in a long time. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and it was too much to eat but very very good! Atmosphere was fine, it is a lounge after all. We will be back and we will tell our friends of our new find. The check was very low because it was happy hour! Food and two beers came to $23. They did me WONDERFUL!! I came in at 10:18pm just to get a French Dip sandwich with tater tots (TO GO), and yes, they still were serving food after 10:00pm. They had the sandwich & tots ready to go within minutes. I got home & the food was still hot & steamy & delicious. They were cheaper than the "other" place that doesn't serve restaurant food after 10:00pm, and the staff was very attentive & helpful the minute I walked in the door & up to the bar. And they were way busier than the 'other' bar that ignored me for 10 minutes. My money spends the same in either place, so this is the place where I will spend my money from now on. read more

I've been here several times with friends. It's close to their house and their favorite place to go so we typically end up here. Eh. I guess I just don't see the appeal. It's fine. Food is fine, karaoke can be entertaining, they have UFC nights if you're into that. There are some characters who frequent this bar, so the people watching can be fun. Overall though, nothing has really jumped out and made me say, "Oh! Let's go to Ricky J's!" More of a, "Oh, we're going to Ricky J's? Sure, I guess I'll come." This was my second time coming to Ricky's ! First off the night bartender seems liked she had an attitude when I didn't know what I wanted to drink..I was asking for a recommendation she looked at me as I was stupid and an inconvenience and i still tipped her... the morning bartender was awesome ! She was closing out and was super friendly and wish she would have been the bartender .. my friends and I sat down ..why did our shots seem more full from when the waitress brought our drinks out than when the bartender gave it to us ..like it was a big difference wish I would have taken pics ..our waitress was amazing!! She was a blonde I forgot to ask for her name though I wish I did!! I got there around 6 if that helps narrow down the cock tail servers ...She brought out our food which was amazing she was nice and attentive ! I had a burger and my friends had wings which were delicious and the club sandwich didn't look bad! There's a big back Padio where you can play connect for with friends and just sit outside the bar .. the vibes are ok .. i spent about $80 I got food 4 -5shots and a cocktail ...would go again read more

Taco Tuesday is a joke (dry meat with soggy tortillas and no toppings) and to top it off, I'm pretty sure they serve house alcohol and charge you for top shelf bc their Jameson tasted like house whiskey. They also informed me that it's because the person who started was a regular at this bar. So the lesson of this story is if a regular wants to be disrespectful towards you expect that you will be kicked out even if you did not say anything until provoked. Save yourself the headache. I used to enjoy going to Ricky J's until today. Patricia (the waitress) you have forever destroyed any future endeavors I would seemingly have to walk in the doors of this establishment. I was the black guy in the white cowboy hat that you automatically assumed I was not going to pay you for services rendered. Oh yes I asked the white couple that was seated near us if you asked for their credit card as soon as they ordered. You already know their answer was "NO"... he actually came out to my vehicle to ensure everything was okay after I hurriedly drank my girlfriends beer as well as mine just to get our of your presence. If I ever walk back into Ricky J's and you walk to my table I will for sure ask for another server. I explained to him what took place. He shook my hand and stated..."I don't have a problem with you Bro" imagine if you had the same awareness of compassion as half the folks you waited on; your job may just be a bit easier.
