Really disappointed. I love Rico's but the one right off north Tryon really upset me tonight. One girl working. Super rude and only filled my bowl up half way. Yummy! I stopped by the truck, it was kind of hard to find since I expected it to be on the other side of the parking lot from what the map said. Service was quick since there was only one person in front of me but the Acai part of the bowl was not as expected. It was like it had been frozen and defrosted a couple times. It wasn't a smooth blend- that's at least how I know it. They filled the bowl up and I took it to go for around the corner to eat in the park but once I lifted he lid most of it fell out, maybe they need to use bigger bowls for the small portions. Terrible customer service. No "welcome, how are you today," just a nod to complete our order. Waited for over five minutes before the window was lifted for orders to be taken. Each order was yelled out to the waiting crowd and the door slammed. The lady in front of us received hers and it didn't have the kiwi on it. She was told they were "out." However as I stood waiting for mine, I noticed containers full of kiwi, I was told, "I don't have time to cut it?" Wait..aren't you a fruit truck? I said it would have been nice to be informed. I USED to loove Ricos! I work uptown so our ENTIRE office would order when we wanted a lighter lunch. They used to fill up your bowl to the top with the right amount of fruit, açai, and granola. Before, I did not mind paying for overpriced fruit because it was delicious and filling. Now, they give you a half empty bowl for an average of $13. This was my first time going to Rico's and I was so excited! I love this concept but I was so disappointed and grossed out watching them make my bowl. I watched the pre packaged acai go into a dirty blender from a previous order which is absolutely repulsive. I received my bowl and noticed there was frozen chunks of acai not even blended!!! Frustrated with the online ordering process and clueless employee (not all of them just the one) I ordered a small Brazil bowl with added almond butter and Strawberries thru the mobile app. Was told my order would be ready in 20 mins at 9:08. Due to a hang up I didn't arrive at the truck until 9:21. When I asked for my order, both by name and what I ordered, I was told that it wasn't ready yet by a very confused employee who didn't seem to know what in the world was going on. (Make sure to get the classic Acai) Lose a star because: about 90% of the time they are "out" of a certain fruit which is so annoying, especially when that is all you serve. I have had one bad experience in which I ordered a large rainbow bowl to go and when I got home it did not have peanut butter and coconut flakes as I paid for. They was very disappointing. I emailed Rico's to express my concern, but I never got a reply. Although I love this place, I would like to see more consistency.
