Steak burrito was tough like rubber. Chicken quesadillas were completely bland. Chicken tacos bland. Ordered a large cheese dip and didn't get it. Rice was bland. Just threw 60 bucks worth of food in the trash can. read more

I eat here almost every Monday cause of the 1$ taco the food is delicious and it comes out super quick you would think it's fast food the quality is great the restaurant itself is great they could use some music maybe but that's my only con I would highly recommend read more

Do you know why your food can taste the same from one ethnic restaurant to the next? Because it is the same. To me, it seems like they all get the same ingredients from the same distributor, using the same old recipes. Then there is Rico's. Rico's, located past Brandermill, west on Hull Street, is not the same old thing. I have had several meals (take out) from Rico's and invite all Mexican food lover to try their unique taste of fresh produce, and wonderfully spiced chicken and beef. No matter what meat you choose in your burrito, there will be no disappointment. The sauces on either are what I have always expected but until Rico's, never received. I give four out of five stars because I have not eaten in the restaurant. read more

Terrible quality food. If you have eating good Mexican food in your life before don't even try this place it will disappoint you BIG TIME. The salsa tastes like it is Pace or Old El Paso from the martin's next door! My plate was so plain that even at home I wouldn't offer that to my family! Good food and service, not to mention a great value. Rico's is like a typical mexican restaurant here in RIC, with a few exceptions. In the area there are probably about 5 mexican places within 2 square miles, and I think we've tried them all. Rico's is by far the best value with the best service. One of the best mexican places in Midlothian. This boasts one of my favorite dishes (shrimp skewers), made with just the right amount of seasoning. It was not a typical dish for a mexican eatery but by far one of the best I have had. I always love the food and the serivce is always top notch. And, if you are looking for a great place for drinks, the bartenders are sure to please. Great for families as well. They have patio seating which is perfect on those great weather days. tonight was the second time I've eaten at rico's. i wasn't displeased or impressed the first time but wasn't planning on going back since i like some of the other tex mex places on hull street a lot more. but, some friends kept raving about how rico's is so great, so i decided to give them another shot. unfortunately, i had the same experience that i had on my first trip. the salsa tasted exactly the same as it does at every other tex mex place. the enchiladas were decent enough to eat but nothing special. the beans were above average for around here but the spanish rice was below average. it wasn't cooked properly and had a lot of hard pieces of rice throughout. it didn't seem to have any flavor to it at all. i've had better rice from a microwavable frozen dinner, actually. the place was packed and i'm always happy when a local place is doing well, but i probably won't order from them again. the staff was nice and there wasn't anything terribly wrong with my meal (besides the rice) but i just don't see what all the fuss is about. to each his own, i suppose. read more

I was very disappointed in Rico's food and service. The fajitas were basically all onions there was maybe a few little pieces of chicken. We ordered extra tortillas and did not get them yet we're still charged for them. (I never asked for them again because I really did not want to eat an onion tortilla.) When I told the cashier we never received the tortillas she had an attitude and refunded us the $.99 but, not the tax that was paid. She slung the refund money at us and was quite rude. The food was poor, service poor and the cashier was terrible. I didn't even say anything else about it because the whole experience was bad and I just wanted to leave. Don't waste your time here. This is our favorite local Mexican restaurant in Midlothian. I have been visiting Rico's through two pregnancies and as a result have eaten almost everything on the menu! Very family friendly; we usually sit on the patio with our toddler and baby and the staff is very accommodating. The food is always fresh and, in my opinion, much higher quality than the other local Mexican places. Rico's has many unique specialty dishes - I LOVE the shrimp diablos (camerones de ablos) it is extremely spicy and hurts in a good way (order with corn tortillas). Both cerviche dishes are also delicious and a great value. My husband likes the chicken mole, beef burrito and skewer shrimp senito. We actually went to Mexico for a week this year and while we were there I told my husband I missed the spicy shrimp diablos from Rico's. You really can't go wrong with Rico's! read more

I'm not sure why we haven't reviewed this place yet. We come here all the time. Great value for your dollar here, and the service is great. They'll make you stuff that's not even on the menu if you ask for it. (we asked for shrimp nachos, and they were Awesome) If you like good food for a good price and good service, you'll probably like rico's. I was going to do 4 stars, cuz ... honestly it's nothing out of this world, but We always leave happy, so why be stingy? :) read more

My family and i have been coming to Ricos for $1.00 Taco Monday's which is a fabulous idea. Recently (7/3/18) We had a large group come in, 13 person party. Initially a group came in to get our tables held and seated, after getting there and getting tables a booth for our kids the manager "OVERRODE THE REQUEST FOR A BOOTH AND COULDN'T ALLOW US TO HAVE THE TABLE". After then getting there and sitting our friends sat for 20-25 mins without any service my family sat for additional 10 mins and NO SERVICE. I am sorry but that is completely unprofessional that we did not have a waiter/ress come to serve our table. It seemed very clear that because of these actions the team there as well as the manager did not care to have our business let alone try to remedy the situation. As of this moment, my chances of going back are SLIM TO NONE now....Rico's Staff you have truly dropped the ball on this and it is a complete shock. read more

Standard Tex-mex. The service was great and the restaurant is clean and well lit. I ordered the fajita salad and aside from it being served in a tortilla bowl, it was basically a skillet of fajitas with a sprinkle of lettuce on top. It was tasty but not what I expected. read more

Decent food for an unbeatable price. Having lived in Texas, I can honestly say not the best Mexican ever, but being in Virginia it is definitely the best around and super cheap....Large portions, fresh veggies and definitely freshly prepared. Wonderful meal; smiling friendly service and dinner for two totaling $22! Amazing! I ordered the shrimp on skewers (can't remember the Mexican name) but it was delicious as was the chicken dish my husband ordered. I typically do not like Mexican restaurants, because they almost all tend to be the same. Unfortunately, I cannot say that this restaurant stands out in its uniqueness versus other Mexican restaurants. That being said, their food is actually pretty good. Its representative of real Mexican food, and the staff works well in getting the food out to you quickly. The thing I love most about this place, are the specials for Monday. $1 tacos, and $2 beers. You could feed 2 people for 6 bucks, and be fully satisfied. If you are in the mood for Mexican, you can't really lose anything by going to this restaurant. read more
