This bar restaurant is located inside the Hilton hotel near the airport in Phoenix. I was staying at a nearby property and I asked my nephew his wife and child to meet me there. I called from the parking lot to ask how crowded they were and found out that they had a lot of seating available. The manager whose name I forgot actually greeted me when I walked in and I asked if they had a high chair for child and he said yes. He very kindly got tables ready for us and when my family arrived we were comfortably seated in an area away from other guests which was very thoughtful. Our server was amazing. I forgot her name too. She was very accommodating and just super sweet. Their menu is not large but it suited our needs. My nephew got a burger that he thought was scrumptious, his lady ordered the tacos, and thought they were delish. I got the Arizona salad which was very filling. We were able to sit and visit together without being rushed. Overall, I would definitely go back. Probably the nastiest meal I've had in my life. I genuinely didn't want to complain, or cause an issue so I dealt with it which I regret. The fries extremely hard, don't ask for crispy! I know another person who went - said their fries were cold so they got another order and all they did was refry those fries lol. The service was cool, the server was nice! The vibes were chill, not much going on in the hotel at the time. Spent the night recently at the Hilton Phoenix Airport while in town visiting with a potential new client and as it was the 1st of several days that I would be away I was not looking to venture out so I took a chance and grabbed a bar top seat at the in-house restaurant and was pleasantly surprised! I was immediately greeted by Ashley's warm and welcoming smile. She was quick to bring me cold glass of water along with menus, pointing out the happy hour specials while offering up some recommendations. The restaurant filled up very soon thereafter at which time Ashley revealed her extraordinary talent! She remained engaged, friendly and super attentive, her service was on point. I ordered the black bean hummus with veggies as an appetizer which was light, tasty and very refreshing. For my main course, I went with the sirloin steak which was accompanied by mashed potatoes with gravy, roasted carrots and asparagus. The steak was well seasoned and the temperature (med/rare) was perfect. The accompanying sides were also deliciousand of great quality! I washed it all down with a well made Old Fashioned which was the icing on the cake. Overall, it was a great experience and I do plan to revisit on my next trip to Phoenix read more

The service was fantastic and a special shout out to Pat, our bar tender as he outstanding service is what a frequent traveler like me looks for especially when it's 110 degrees outside in lovely Phoenix . Let's talk food! I ordered a corn beef Ruben and much to my surprise, It was very very good. The serving was enormous as you can see from the picture and it had all the great elements of a good Ruben, the dressing was tasty. The marbled Ryebread was a perfect match, and the corned beef was not dry and was very juicy - Yummy. Let's face it, the Phoenix Airport Hilton has a captive audience when it comes to food if you do not have a car. I had already turned in my rental, so really did not have a choice where to eat. Everyone working here is super nice! That's why Rimrock gets a 2nd star. The food here is abysmal. I took the chance and ordered the street tacos. Hey, I am in Arizona and street tacos are local fare, right? Nope. The street tacos had mushy watery chicken. I think it was from a can. Or they boiled tiny pieces? There was white meat and dark meat. They had a side dish of corn poured right out of the can without draining it. The bottom of the dish was filled with water and the corn was only mildly warm. I picked at two of them. Together with an ice tea cost was $22. Less than an hour later, I was having an msg reaction. I would not eat here again if I stay at the Hilton in the future. read more

We were staying across the street so we decided that we would give the place a try despite reading some of the bad reviews. We're ordered the chips and salsa with guacamole and we are glad we did. The salsa was sort of a hybrid of commercial grade with some added roasted tomatoes so it was above average. The guacamole was very good and tasted freshly made with large chunks of avocados. The portions were large too. We skipped a main voice and went straight for dessert. It was a brownies with ice cream and chocolate drizzle. Very good. I've eaten at this restaurant before. But my second time was a decidedly different experience from the standpoint of our server. When I tried to order an "Arnold Palmer" (lemonade and ice tea combo), the waiter said they didn't have that. I explained to him it was just lemonade and ice tea, he looked confused. We asked him to go to the bar to ask and he seemed reluctant to do that. Finally I gave up on the drink and just settled for an ice tea. Next I tried to order steaks and asked for it to be done medium rare. He proceeded to tell us that we couldn't order it any other way than how they normally prepare it......the night before!!!! Now I really got upset because I've never been to a place where they prepare (cook!???) the steaks the night before. Obviously this couldn't be true so we asked ... no we insisted... that he bring another waiter over. Finally the other waiter comes over (quite the jokester too, saying you can get it rare if you want to), he now takes our order and we get the steaks (done medium rare). Pretty darn good hotel restaurant/bar. Football games on the TVs, strong drinks, and friendly service. We got our drinks in a reasonable time and our waitress returned often to check on us. Did I mention the drinks were great? The "free" appetizer we chose with our upgrade coupon from the hotel was the Chipotle Honey Wings...I love spicy and these were spicy. Too hot for my wife, hotter than a typical honey chipotle. I finished them all lol. Then came out our "10 inch" pizza, this thing was HUGE. The crust was good and the toppings (cheese, ham, pineapple) were fresh and plentiful. We had to take some pizza in a to go box. Prices decent, nice drink specials, and above par hotel food. Be very careful here. This place asked for a credit card since we were also drinking with our meal. The bartender gave my credit card to another customer but fortunately they were able to get it back. Unfortunately they did not cancel the other transaction so when I checked my balance I had two different charges. I called them and asked to get it corrected they did not return my call. I challenged the charge with my bank and they provided to the back my signature which came from the correct charge not the erroneous charge so my bank says its a viable charge. I called rimrock and the accounting department said they could find my charge the correct one but could not find the erroneous charge. Be very very careful in this place read more

OK I couldn't make up my mind when I saw the menu. I had a hard time narrowing what I wanted down from 4 items to 1. I ultimately ended up with the club sandwich and it was hearty and pretty tasty. What I was really excited about was the tater tots. They give you a butt ton of them and they are perfectly cooked. Best tater tots. In fact the tater tots were the driving force of picking the club for the meal. So glad I made the right choice. Zack gave good service and my glass of Rose' rounded out the meal. Really nice. Then I got a beer flight. The Arizona beer is pretty darn good! To eat we had steak tacos. For being so late this was really good. The meat was so tender and tasty. I agree with everyone that yelp needs to implement some half stars because this place isn't quite a 3 star, much more a 2.5. Portions are pretty good sized and the food is decent. It tastes like every other american food restaurant you could go too and they dont put a special spin on anything. I loved our waitress and our bartender and they were super friendly and made us feel welcome, I just wasn't happy about spending $12 for some fish and chips that was a mediocre meal. For being in a hotel its a good deal, and is definitely not something I'd tell anyone to avoid when they come in late from a flight or a long day at the office, I'm just saying get out into Phoenix and try some of the local favorites if you can. Terrible experience, which is sad as the front desk recommended this to me several times! It was seat yourself, so I sat down and waited 20 minutes for someone to come over. About 5 minutes in the busboy came over and gave me a menu and water and told me someone would be right over. 5 minutes later he walks by and asks if anyone has been over- I told him no, so he went to the waitress and flagged her down. 10 minutes later she comes over to ask what I wanted. I ordered- she comes back 6ish minutes later and asked what I ordered again. Mind you- when I walked in and sat down maybe only 1/4 of the tables were full and the bar was pretty empty. The entire time I was made to feel like an inconvenience and afterthought. Someone else brought my food (waited another 5 minutes for silverware). She didn't come back until it was time to bring my my check. I'd rank it one star, but the food I had was pretty good! All I can say about Rimrock Bar & Grille is that they make one hell of a great burger. We had just landed in Phoenix and we're staying at the Hilton Phoenix Airport location and we were so hungry because we skipped on eating Airline Food. The only problem was that it was right before midnight when we checked in and the only dining option in the hotel was this place called Rimrock Bar & Grille which had a pretty good looking menu which consists of typical bar food. It was ten minutes till midnight and as me and my wife walked in, I saw that look of terror on their faces as they were about to close up. I know the feeling of someone walking in right before closing to grab a bite to eat, but I was desperate so i had to have the courage to ask if they were still serving food and the bartender Lori was more than happy to honor our request which made me a very happy and hungry customer. I was really craving for a Burger and what caught my eye was the Jett Lagged Burger$14.50 which was made with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, and an Over Easy Egg. Being from Hawaii anything with an Over Easy on it is golden for me. As for this Burger, let's just say I have eaten Burgers all over the world, and this Burger has to be one of the Best Burgers I have ever eaten. What makes a great burger to me is the bun, and at Rimrock, the bun looked something like a Brioche Bun which perfectly sopped up all the juices from the Beef Patty and Over Easy Egg. The Burger was cooked to perfection and was amazing from the first bite to the last. If I ever stayed at the Phoenix Airport Hilton again, this would be the first thing I would order without a doubt. I also ordered the Buffalo Chipotle Wings which was good but a little too spicy for my taste. We also had the Strawberry Quinoa Salad which my wife said was a great tasting salad but a little too healthy for me. Also, I had a Draught Beer which was perfect with my Burger but j forgot the name of it. Time was limited and it made sense to grab lunch at the Hilton where several of the parties were staying. I played it safe with a chicken quesadilla. It was better than average for about 10 bucks. This is a typical hotel bar. I wouldn't really call it a restaurant because it doesn't have any traditional restaurant tables to sit at. They only have small circular tables that you will find at a bar. The food menu consists of typical American food of burgers and anything deep fried. Want burritos and tacos, they have those too. The food here is a mediocre 2.5 stars at best. A lot of it was fried and while they do have a few salads and few special daily entrees the food was still sad overall. I had the Caesar Chicken wrap one night with underdone fries...it was OK. I also had the Chicken Primavera pasta which was actually tasty but needed way way more fresh veggies to make it somewhat healthy...they really skimped on the fresh ingredients here. Other than that the chicken strips, onion rings, fish filet and the like were all super fried. The chicken or veggie quesadilla were also OK but I'd just hop a cab anywhere for something a little fresher. The beer lines seemed stale here so I'd order the bottles or stick to cocktails which were made well. That aside the staff was all friendly and on top of things. read more
