After reading the reviews about this place, I decided to give it a try. I recently relocated to the area from southern Connecticut and have been searching for that New Haven style pizza here. After I placed the order, the pizza arrived about an hour, which I thought to be longer than the average. Since the place has "Italian" in the name, I wasn't expecting a Greek (Thick crust, cut into squares) style pizza when I opened the box; the pizza was also extremely greasy, so much so that it soaked through the cardboard plate below it and through the box. I have not given up on the rest of the menu and will go back but I have to say the pizza was awful. The toppings were OK, the sauce was strange and the crust was tasteless and as tough as cardboard. I guess the biggest disappointment is that they are NOT Italian as advertised, its Greek! Great Greek pizza, owner and staff were really friendly. Old style booths, been there for 35 years so doing something right! Lot of take out and delivery. We had a large pizza with sausage and mushroom. Was very good and will go back. Saw them making the dough fresh by hand for the pizza. Thinnish crust which I like and cheese was baked to golden. I've been going to Rinaldi's for years. The meatball grinder is my FAVORITE of all time. Honestly, have not tried many other menu items because I can't "not have the meatball grinder". Love the family atmosphere, love the family even more. I've known Tony for about 40 years, before Rinaldi's. He's a special person. We share many stories and memories. There are many regulars. It shows the loyalty and love for the food. You are treated like a regular the first time you enter the door. It took well over an hour to get our food. When our food finally arrived it was cold. French fries were cold and almost had a freezer burn/stale taste to them. Al pollo pizza was cold and somewhat soggy. This is the second time we have experienced this, will not order from here again. read more

I gave this place a try after reading the reviews. Crust was ok, pizza was soggy and they don't know how to cook a margarita pizza. I'd been living out west for a few months and had been having trouble finding some good Italian food. When I was on vacation back to Connecticut I had to stop in to Rinaldis for a beer and one of the best grinders I've ever had. Genoa salami / capicola with crushed red pepper, bacon, and a few other things along with some oil and vinegar in the oven. Needless to say... The next time I'm in CT I'll be stopping by for another ( or more ). Steak and cheese on garlic bread is also absolutely fantastic. Ordered pizza and wings and didn't like the crust. It tasted like a Pillsbury type or frozen dough. The hot wings were soggy and rubbery. The celery sticks were dirty and had rotten spots. I haven't been to Rinaldi's in quite some time, but I will say this, they do have some of the best marinara sauce in the business. Much of my family is Italian, including Italians living between here and Italy, and they all agree. Even if Rinaldi's wasn't great, their sauce would more than make up for it. read more

Restaurant was very dirty. The waitress brought the wrong style pizza. My sandwich had a wooden stick mixed in with the meat. When I explained the problems, the owner created a scene and basically told us to leave. He gave a sarcastic apology when I tried to pay and told me to keep my money. I upset that yelp doesn't allow me to click negative stars...after that horrible chicken marsala i tried from Rinaldis i feel like they owe me three stars. I had to immediately go outside and throw it out in the dumpster because i was afraid my dog would get into the trash and kill himself. Order at your own risk.First and foremost they are not Italian but Greek. I tried them twice and wasn't particularly impressed but more dissatisfied given the price. For a Pizza Shop close to Springfield (Land of pizza shops) its not worth going out of your way for let alone if you live in the neighborhood. The pizza itself is mediocre at best. Pros include thin and crunchy with some give. Toppings cooked well done on top. (Good if you in the mood for that type of thing-well done cheese) etc. Cons are not a lot of flavor in the sauce and the same goes for the dough which was very flavorless, it could use some salt/butter/ even a tiny sugar would go a long way. Also in general the pizza seemed dry. For 20$ it could have been better. Greek Salad didn't taste too fresh and not a lot of ingredients for a 9$ salad which was labeled small. Large grinder was 16 inch eggplant Parm which felt hefty but overly greasy for over 10$ just the sandwich. Order of buffalo wings which come with 8, celery and blue cheese. I also asked for them hot. They were dry, under seasoned, and had almost no buffalo sauce on them for 8$( dollar a wing should at least be decently prepared) and there was a teaspoon of blue cheese in the container it was laughable. I stopped here out of convenience off 91 on the way home. Don't get me wrong I love Greek food/Greek style pizza but this place misses the mark. It's close to Longmeadow so look up Grapevine pizza which is much better Greek style pizza. I won't be back. read more

I am so upset with Rinaldis pizza.. My family orders from them at least once a week.... Today we had to place an order 3 hours in advance due to their order amount. When I called I ordered TWO party sized pizzas due to the amount of guests we are having... When they arrived at 7PM the delivery driver only gave us two large pizzas. When we informed him that it wasn't what we ordered he told us that they don't make party sized pizzas. Well, I of course called back due to the large party I was having needing two party sized and when I placed the order I can assure you I said two party sized pizzas. The manager got on the phone and apologized up and down and assured me two pizzas would be there in 20 minutes. ( clearly they do party sized or chose to tonight )Well, 10 minutes later another woman from the place called me to tell me I will have to pay the difference because I said two large pizzas. In no way would I order two larges because of the amount of guest.. It was New Year's Eve. I spent 10 minutes calmly telling two different people I would appreciate an accommodation due to the fact I can not feed all my guest appropriately. I finally received an agreement from the manager to give me a small and a large for free. Originally wanting me to pay 60 dollars for 4 large pizzas. I already paid $49 for the first two and they wanted an additional $40 for the two because THEY didn't write down what I said correctly. Two being cheese and the other two meat. One of my guest posted on the forum about his disappointment in them and their argument saying the food was good but the service was poor. He did this because we are ordering from them once a week... It was immediately deleted incase it affected our make up pizzas. Well it did. The manager called back and told us to eff off for the post and hung up on us. After waiting 25 minutes for the make up pizzas to feed the rest of our guest they told us the pizzas weren't coming. We called back several times and every time they hung up on us. I am extremely disappointed. In no way did we yell at them, be rude or disrespectful them. We simply wanted something to make up for the mistake the clerk had made... To call us back to tell us to eff off is extremely unprofessional. I know it's a busy night but that is NO way to conduct yourself as a business owner. After years of my family ordering from there NEVER again will we be giving them our business. We are now terrified they will charge our debit card more. This is no way to feel as a customer. A simple apology and a make up would of been fit. Not have to fight for accommodation, get it, then be told to F*}^{* off because he didn't like a review that wasn't good.
