We had the Halibut, the Montauk Roll and the Rigatoni Al la Vodka. The Coconut Martini was a great choice for a cocktail. The service and staff were excellent. Our server Victoria was top notch. Mother's Day brunch, as advertised $49 per adult and $25 per child. We have a party of six, four adults and two children. We all have coffee and my wife gets a couple mimosas. When I get my bill, my total with taxes fees, and 20% gratuity is $458. As a service member and first responder, I am deeply disturbed by this enormous bill, $208 in gratuity fees and taxes. Went to a pharmaceutical program there tonight. There were 6 of us in the program but did not see anyone else in the entire restaurant. Started off with the Cesar salad . The lettuce was slightly wilted, not crisp as you would expect and the dressing tasted off . Next came the vegetable risotto for the main course which was the possibility the worst dish that I have ever had. Basically a bowl of foul tasting rice with a trace of vegetables. Who ever devised this pitiful dish should be banned from working in a restaurant for life. The dessert was apple crumb cake. The only thing edible here was the ice cream. I do feel lucky that I did not develop any GI distress after getting home. I do not know how they are staying in business since there was no one else there. First we showed up for a 7:30 reservation and weren't seated till 8:10 then it took an hour and a half to get a drink This place was completely under staffed. Management didn't care. The waiters and waitresses were extremely nice and helpful but because management had the place understaffed they were all running around like chickens without a head. It took almost 2 hours to take our dinner reservations. Luckily the appetizers came out in that first hour. While all this is going on one of the managers/owner was having an argument with a waitress that it became a screaming match. He then fired her in a restaurant that was already understaffed. My family went out for an early dinner on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was not crowded. We had reservations. The service was underwhelming and impacted our overall experience. Appetizers were ordered, including the lobster bisque. No soup spoons were brought to the table. When we asked for soup, spoons, we were given teaspoons. Rather than wait, we used the spoons that were dropped off. No salt and pepper on the table... then another delay in getting salt and pepper at the table. Dinner was served, including prime rib with no steak knives. We ordered dessert and when that was delivered, there were no spoons for the ice cream or fork for the pie. Do you see where I'm going here? In general, it was not a great kickoff to our Christmas Eve celebration. The prices and the service did not align. Approximately 19 of my friends gathered at Ristegios Restaurant. The band, Soul Jam Review, entertained us with classic soul music from the 70s and 80s. Their performance was so engaging that the crowd remained on the dance floor, dancing until the very end of the night. The food was acceptable, and the drinks were satisfactory. I would only consider going back if a good band is performing. Ristegios isn't a place I would recommend for someone looking to dine on a typical evening. We have lived 5mins from here for almost 5 years and this is first time eating here and will be our last. Problem after problem here....the main issue here is bugs in the drinks! My husband had a margarita and after drinking half of it noticed a bug in it. After speaking with the manager/owner, he himself went to get a new margarita. After drinking a few sips he noticed ANOTHER bug in his drink! The very one the owner brought to him. He took a photo. When confronted the owner said it was the first drink. No...it was the second drink with a bug! Not to mention, the servers were inexperienced and twice spilled our food onto the table as they were serving it. My own dinner was spilled all over the table when it was being served. They had to remake my dinner and I waited for it while rest of the table ate. The service was super slow and inexperienced. It was a bunch of kids mostly who didn't seem to know what they were doing. God knows what else is lurking in the kitchen if there were 2 drinks with bugs in them. My date made reservations for Valentine's Day. 6:15 so we wouldn't have to wait. Well, the place was mostly empty but we were asked to wait at the bar for 10-15 minutes. You don't make reservations for this. The staff was mostly clueless and pretty confused. So many staff came to our table but it was nobody's job to refill a water glass. Other tables food was brought to us and someone asked who ordered the chicken francaise when we both did. Lol. The food was very underwhelming. $75pp price fixe. My burrata appetizer was served atop a hard underripe tomato. My dates baked clams looked super wet and soggy. My chicken francaise was basically tasteless (the linguine was cooked perfectly al dente). My date tried to cover his in salt. The place never came close to capacity but they kept up their "wait at the bar" tactic to get patrons to pay a bar tab as well. Shame on you Ristegio's, even making a young couple with a toddler and infant wait at the bar. At one point there were so many people waiting for their table that the bar was overfilled while dining tables sat empty. A live band was warming up and sending screeching noises through the restaurant as the overhead music was already too loud. My date and I abandoned the idea of conversation. At a certain point he just wanted to leave. The desert was described as chocolate lava cake but was doused in raspberry sauce. I'm allergic to raspberries. Nothing on the menu mentioned raspberry so this was disappointing. My dates cheesecake was served on a very warm plate. Very odd. This place should just be a bar since that's where they want to herd people and they have no business making or serving food. Needless to say, I'll never go back. read more

It was a buffet, the chicken franchise was very tough, pasta was tasteless and not hot enough, the beef was inedible it was so tough to cut and impossible to chew. I went just before things got bad enough to close indoor dining. The place seemed really busy. They made use of their outdoor space, for dining, of course and they had live music to boot. Indoors, I wish they would've used all of the space available to them to separate diners from each other. They put all the diners in one section of the restaurant and left the rest empty. That seemed a little illogical to me. Distance everyone as far as possible. That might actually make things quieter (not that I had any issue with ambient noise). The food was great and [Instagram] picturesque. I recall having the fish and it was pretty solid. The menu itself is pretty wide-ranging and included sushi rolls. So don't be confused by the name it's not just Italian or American foods. This place probably a restaurant that you'd have to visit multiple times to get a true gauge of the strengths of its menu. The place has the right architecture, beautiful clean decor, plenty of space etc. but the way it's used could use some adjusting. Ugh. Thanks Tim and James for trying your best. I went at 12:45pm, didn't expect a party there and loud music that encompassed curse words. Food had no flavor. My sprite was seltzer water and Tim did come by to ask how everything was. Which I didn't have words but I told him about the sprite. Which he quickly changed. I went to this place for dinner and called for reservations - at 5:00 they had a 7:45 pm When I arrived there were many empty tables both in the bar area and dinner area. I was given the worst table right where the staff kept walking past us and it was chilly. I asked for another table and she said they were all reserved. At the end of my dinner many tables were still empty. They do not value me as a customer. This happened the previous time but I guess things do not change there. The food came out cold and the other meal was over cooked. That is why I won't go there again. I should have gone to Locale in Patchogue where the food is hot and they seat you nicely. The other reviews had me question taking my boyfriend here for his birthday. The restaurant had a very nice ambiance. The hostess sat us by the fire place which was nice and felt warm. We had Catherine as our server and she was very nice. She forgot about a soda we ordered but otherwise she was pretty attentive. I had the jumbo gulf shrimp which was absolutely delicious. The crab meat stuffing tasted very good with the lemony sauce they have on top of it and the shrimps were cooked well. The garlic mash and spinach went well with the shellfish and complimented each bite. My boyfriend got the sirloin which he thought was well cooked. He thought the roasted potatoes could have more seasoning and asked for extra steak sauce. I had his asparagus which was well cooked and not tough. I would pass on the chicken parm. The cutlet could have been crispier and a bit bigger. We always like to order french fries from steak houses and I enjoyed these very much. They were crisp and flakey on the outside while still fluffy on the inside. I like when fries have a little bit of flakiness on the outside because i think it makes them taste better. Lunch with girlfriends. Service and food great but extremely pricey. Check prices on the menu prior to ordering and check your bill. Also, when you pay by credit card, you are handed a POS to pay with and the available tip options start at 20%. Of course, you can enter your preferred amount without selecting any of the options but with the waiter standing over you with the POS gadget handed to you to sign, you don't want to be seen reducing the tip amount. As you can see from my previous review, Ristegio's was one of our favorite restaurants back in 2017. Since then, they have gone down hill, but not enough to justify updating my review. That was until New Year's Eve. What a nightmare. For starters, I wanted to stay home, have some people at the house, and leave it at that. We figured you can't go wrong with Ristegio's, the ~$70 early seating was reasonable, so why not? We had four in our group and we invited another group of five. One would assume that the reason for the limited menu would be to offset the number of guests and that things should move somewhat quickly. Not the case. It took 45-minutes to even get a drink on the table, which were completely watered down, another 90-minutes before the appetizers were brought out, and another 90-minutes between dinner, and dessert. For appetizers, I had the Roasted Mushroom Arancini, which were basically rice balls, which were awful. About eight of them in a little basket, which must have been sitting around for hours. They broke as soon as you handled them, were completely tasteless, they must have forgotten the mushrooms, so they basically serviced a plain rice ball. For my entree, I went with the Seafood Cioppino, which I was afraid to eat. One of my scallops were uncooked and I simply didn't trust anything else after that, especially with seafood. Others in our party had the Surf and Turf and each and every one of them complained about the lobster as well as the filet mignon. The chefs that night definitely did not understand doneness of meat. To top it all off, they completely did a bait-n-switch on the dessert menu. Per the picture attached, taken directly from their Facebook page, they had a New York Cheesecake, and a Chocolate Cake. Guess what that turned into? The most disgusting Pumpkin Cheesecake and some type of Pecan something-or-other, which wasn't even edible. There was no cake to it, it was ALL pecans. My wife was lucky enough to order that. My Pumpkin Cheesecake was warm, which was gross. Surprisingly, most of the food that should have been hot, came out cool, and the dessert that should have been cold, came out warm. To add insult-to-injury, nothing was included, not even soda. Listen, I'm far from cheap, a ~$300.00 dinner bill doesn't bother me at all so long as the food justifies it, but this wasn't even close. They put week-old bread on the table, you had to beg them for butter, really, just terrible. There is no doubt Ristegio's lost a ton of loyal customers that night, plus potential new business. As we were leaving, there was a couple that refused to pay the bill, and they left. I believe one of the owners went outside to actually fight with them. We have a video on one of our phones, which I'll post elsewhere, as I can't post it on Yelp. Really though, I know skipping out on the bill isn't right, but you can't blame them. That's how bad things were. Oddly enough, we went there for Mother's Day in 2019, and while it was buffet style, it was just as bad as New Year's Eve. Seeing as they are usually on top of their game, we figured it was a bad day for them, given the circumstances, which is why we assumed New Year's Eve couldn't be that bad. I think the recent reviews of Ristegio's from the last year or more speak for themselves. It's clear they are going downhill and if they keep this up, I highly doubt they will be around long. One thing that really stinks, the group we invited, we told them how great it was, and all they ended up with was a ~$600 bill, which should have been a fifth of that. Good luck Ristegio's, hopefully 2020 is a better year for your business, and you get back to the way things were a few years ago, because your restaurant was AMAZING back then. read more

We had my sons Bar Mitzvah celebration an Ristegios this past Saturday Night. The party was in the private room in the back and everything was great. I first met with George who went over the menu and party packages and he was extremely helpful from the 1st meeting until the end of the party. The food was great, especially the Chile salmon and sliced steak and no one could stop talking about how the chicken tenders were the nest they ever had. Sure, the food was OK, but we will NEVER be back and we would encourage others to choose other options. We would have easily doubled our bill had someone actually cared to come back to check on us and find out if we wanted anything else. Informationally, when we closed-out, the POS pad did not match the printed receipt. I would give 2 stars if I didn't feel so cheated. Above average prices for well below average food. The server was polite and way over her head. They were totally under staffed and the customers paid the price. All four of our entrees had issues. Two halibut dinners were cold and were not well prepared. Possibly not even halibut, not sure. The steak entree came way over cooked and was returned and the scallop plate was blah. Then they packed the place to overcrowding with a big dance band that needed a venue twice the size. This was for Thanksgiving Dinner. The evening started poorly when the greeter was too absorbed in his phone to greet us until prompted. Things did not improve when we learned that only a buffet was on offer. I had been expecting a choice based on their website having no mention of buffet only. Then the price. At $58 per person I would expect a pretty decent selection and mouth watering tastes. It was ok at best. (the ham was delicious, I'll give them that). The turkey though, was very dry, to the point where I just left it. The rest of the food was pretty decent. It was only as we were leaving that we noticed that there was a entire second table set up with breads, salad's and soups set up nowhere near our part of the restaurant and no one (i.e. our wait staff) thought to point it out to us). Dessert, consisted of a plate of cookies. While tasty, obviously no effort had been made. Finally, a 20% tip was automatically added (for a table of 3). That's not how that works, thanksgiving or not. In conclusion, we're not going back and don't recommend it at all. read more

I was skeptical of this experience after looking at other reviews. However I was so impressed when I walked in the door. This restaurant is FANCY! The beamed ceiling and chandeliers, the dark, romantic atmosphere and the classy bar were the first things to greet me. My husband and I were seated immediately (we had a reservation) although the place was pretty quiet at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Our server Dillon was great, very attentive but not intrusive. We both got cocktails and appetizers which were excellent, particularly the apple arugula salad. For entrees we had the short ribs (amazing) and veal chop (husband devoured it!). We took dessert home and it too was yummy. Overall, it was very expensive but worth the occasional splurge given the quality of the food and the ambiance of the restaurant. read more

This was our first time here. Atmosphere is pleasant. The table is visited by Bryan the manager and a very personal person who makes you feel welcome and like family. Victoria our waitress was friendly and greeted us with a warm smile recommended the food on menu.
