Service was great and it's a charming/cozy vibe inside, but was very unhappy with both our meals. Lackluster in flavor and the ravioli sauce was almost grainy? The drinks were nice, but I don't think I would ever return or recommend anyone dine in.

    Fettuccine All' Adriatica

My family and I went here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Fettuccine All' Adriatica and it was delicious. My husband ordered the ravioli and my children order the pepperoni pizza. We all enjoyed our meal a lot. The staff was friendly and kind and the place for lunch was pretty welcoming for a large family like ours with lots of little kids :).

Great food with nice outdoor seating that's pet friendly. The food here is good and is on par with other Italian restaurants that I've eaten so far. The Frutti de Mare al Pomodoro is made well. The shell fish was not rubbery (rubbery if it's overcooked) and the sauce definitely has flavor and can be paired well with the bread that is served. The olive oil that is paired with the bread is very tasty and has a garlic spice kick to it. The calamari is okay but they served it in such a big plate and the portions was small so it looks like you're not getting what you paid for. The service was great. Fast service and the food came out fast. We dined on a late afternoon on a Saturday and the outside dining had a nice elegant decor. Yes it's on a pricey side but I feel as though this is the type of price you'll expect if you dine in other restaurants in the Mountain View with a downtown feel to it. Great place for a casual or fancy date night.

What a great place to have a nice lunch during the week! The Italian decor is beautiful. Service is great. The chicken picatta was so lemony and delicious. They also have lunch specials that come with an app and dessert. Highly recommend!

So expensive for what??: Food was fine but not at those prices. It feels like a formal place too, ambience wise, but the food did not match the vibes. The butternut squash ravioli was pretty disappointing and came with like 5 raviolis. So sad! I left still hungry. Fried calamari was decent. Bruschetta was mediocre, I could've made it myself. Go somewhere else on Castro, so many other places you could eat there!

Don Giovanni on Castro Avenue is an absolute gem in Mountain View! I've eaten at so many Italian restaurants, and this one is by far the best I've ever been to. The food quality is out of this world, the service is incredible, and the atmosphere is just perfect. If you're looking for authentic Italian food with a great vibe for a date night or a family dinner, this is definitely the place. We actually just stumbled upon Don Giovanni while looking for a place to eat on Castro. The manager was standing at the door, and as a customer walked out, he said, "This is the best Italian food I've ever had!" We weren't sure if we had enough time to eat, but the manager was so incredibly nice, and with his charming Italian accent, he just invited us right in and told us to grab a table. What a welcome! The menu has such a wonderful selection of authentic Italian dishes. Our waiter was a fantastic guy, so courteous and super attentive. We started with a fresh salad and some warm bread, which came with this amazing authentic olive oil, garlic, and pesto dip. For our main courses, we ordered the fettuccine, the fettuccine with prawns, and the penne pasta with Italian sausage and bell peppers in a red sauce. Let me tell you, this was the best quality Italian food I've ever been served in a restaurant. The pastas tasted so fresh. The fettuccine sauces were genuinely creamy and seasoned just perfectly, clearly made with real ingredients. The prawns were generous and super fresh. And that penne pasta with the Italian sausage and bell peppers? It had such a delicious, fresh tomato flavor! I honestly can't explain how fresh and how much care went into making these perfect plates of food. The restaurant's atmosphere is just wonderful. It has this charming, old-world feel that's really comfortable and pleasant. Everything was spotless, the tables, the silverware. And the service? It was truly the best we've ever received, with so much attention to detail. The manager himself was a wonderful guy; he made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our meal and was great to chat with. Overall, this place gets 10 out of 5 stars from me! This is some of the best Italian food I've enjoyed in a very long time. This is hands down the best Italian food in the Bay Area. We are absolutely coming back here again!

I came here for a holiday dinner this past Th night with seven other people. It was party of 8. We had reservations at 6:15pm and we were seated right away. I ordered Frutti di Mare al Pomodoro as my entree and tiramisu for dinner. Both were delicious. I can't wait to come back to try other dishes. All my friends enjoyed their dishes too.

    $35.00 "pre-fix" dinner specials

I have been coming here since I moved to the Bay Area in Jan 2000. I used to live just around the corner and was here at least twice a week. The food and service is phenomenal! This is a wonderful place for a date night or if you have a business dinner where you need to impress. (They also have private space for parties or meetings). My long time favorite is the linguine pesto (Their pesto cream sauce is the best I've ever had!) but my new addiction is the Caesar salad with grilled salmon. I also love their pizza! You honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu! They just started a new "pre-fix" menu. It's only $35 and includes your choice of several salads or soup, a large variety of main courses (including salmon, short ribs, lamb shank, pork chop or various pastas AND your choice of a dessert. The owner told me he is going to keep the special going through the end of the year. The owner, John Akkaya, is a gem. He knows all his regulars by name and has a huge following. He's so welcoming and cares about the community. Every year for Thanksgiving he puts on a huge free Thanksgiving dinner for anyone who shows up. Every year he feeds hundreds of people. What ever you do, DON'T skip the bread and dipping sauce!! I have many times come by and grabbed a soup container full if I'm having guests over. Everyone loves their dipping sauce!

We stopped by for lunch on Tuesday. Our server's service was outstanding. The items he recommended turned out to be absolutely delicious. I don't know how it happens, but I've been looking for a good Italian restaurant that serves great pasta for a while now--most places end up being disappointing, or maybe I've just been unlucky. Even when I pay $40-50 or more for a plate of pasta, I often leave unsatisfied. But the pink sauce meatball capellini I had today was exceptional! The only thing I would change is the meatball portion -- it would have been perfect with 3 instead of 2. Other than that, I truly enjoyed everything. What impressed us the most was the service -- fast, efficient, and top notch. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

I came here many many years ago. I was hoping they still had their chicken fiorentina, I believe that's what it was called back then, but they no longer had it on the menu this last Sunday. I was not disappointed at all. I had the lasagna, and it was absolutely delicious. The bread that they bring to the table was great with the vinegar and the oil. My husband really enjoyed his chicken Marsala. He's said the mushroom were delicious. The calamari was so crispy and I love that it came out piping hot. Service was great! Definitely will be back. I made last minute reservations online, super easy!

First time here that we recall. We sat outside and had their $19.95 lunch special, which includes soup or salad, main course, and a small dessert. There were two of us and we had the minestrone soup and pumpkin soup, squid ink pasta with salmon and chicken Marsala, and two chocolate mousses. The food and service were very good! Served nice and hot and the portions sizes were very appropriate for lunch. Nice fresh bread basket with an olive/olive oil dip. Nice and peaceful outside, great food, friendly service. We enjoyed it and will come back again!

The food exceeded our expectations! The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The service was attentive, and the vibrant, colorful atmosphere made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

At this Il Fornaio location, Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00-6:00 p.m., with Mondays offering Happy Hour pricing all day long. The bar and lounge area features three seating options: cozy sofa-lounge seating, a long communal table, and individual seats at the bar, complete with two TVs mounted overhead. We arrived with just 30 minutes left to enjoy it. The Happy Hour menu includes Italian and domestic beers ($7), Italian and local wines ($8), nine different cocktails ($9), plus a selection of antipasti and pizzas for snacking. One thing I appreciated was that the drinks were served in full-sized glassware; nothing scaled down just because it was Happy Hour. I ordered the Tiki Taormina, made with Don Q Piña rum, peach purée, pineapple, lime, and mint. It was absolutely delicious. My husband chose the Margarita Italiano, featuring Herradura Silver Tequila, Lucano Limoncello, Cointreau, mango purée, lime, and a salted rim. Naturally, I had to conduct my obligatory taste test; his was quite good as well. For food, we started with the Polpettine ($13): three flavorful beef meatballs in tomato sauce, topped with creamy stracciatella cheese (the soft center of burrata). Served alongside were three slices of crostone, or toasted rustic bread, perfect for soaking up the sauce. We also shared the Pizza Fradiavola ($14), topped with mozzarella, Italian sausage, tomato sauce, mushrooms, bell peppers, red onions, and spicy peperoncino. It was tasty, nicely topped, and ideal for sharing. Service was good with at least two bartenders working throughout our visit. Between the quality drinks, satisfying bites, and good service, this spot has earned a place on our growing list of favorite Happy Hour discoveries.

However, after the incident, observation and order of food I received on 6/13/26, I cannot support this location. As mentioned we always had a pleasant experience at this location, with great service and great food. But this day the entire staff was off, and it was mainly due to the negative, micromanaging and rude manager/owner Partika. From the moment I walked in the establishment the vibe seemed completely off than what I was use to from past visits. It was scorching hot inside and the employees looked miserable. I quickly figured out why, as I placed my order with the gentleman upfront who was doing a great job, and here comes Partika hovering over him and reaching over him re-asking my order, although the employee had already entered it in and was simply trying to ask if I wanted to add anything else. Once done and paid, she then moves to the back counter and begins to holler over to the employees in the back about hurrying up with tickets, although they weren't very busy. I stood to the side as I had ordered a slice to grab now for my child, and then a full pizza and wings to go. Upon waiting, Partika approaches and tells me to sit down. I looked at her and told her it was not her discretion and I would await the slice to come right out as I already discussed with the employee. Once I obtain the slice i exit and wait in my vehicle in front of establishment. Out comes Partika harassing two men who had just finished up their pizza when I originally walked in and were still sitting at one of the table now having a refreshment from the adjoining establishment. She told them they could not sit at the tables they were reserved for her customers, and they told her they had just ate there and she begin to argue that now they had to move . Be advised there were many tables outside that any guest could choose from and her establishment was far from busy. Once my order was ready, I went back inside , and again she was arguing with another customer who stated the pizza she attempted to hand her was not hers if she could double check. Her rude comment was yes this is yours and the customer explained no her receipt clearly showed this was not her order. The gentleman apologized for the entire ordeal I had experienced and seen and gave me my order , in which I asked who she was and her name for reference. She then bolted towards me asking what the problem in which I told her the issue is she is very rude to very customer I had seen her interact with in the last 20 minutes. Fast forward to arriving home to now enjoy pizza and wings with my family. Open the box and the cheese is stuck to the top bc they failed to properly package it to avoid this mishap. Furthermore several of the winds were undercooked which could have created severe illness. I blame her presence, bad attitude and rushing her staff for these issues. I love the Tony Gemignani pizza brand but this Slice House in Mountain View has a terrible manager/ owner Partika who needs better customer service skills as well as management skills. I much rather have spent $100 with an establishment who had good customer interaction and treated their staff with respect.

Came out kind of cold to be honest, but I still liked my pasta. Our server was super friendly, just clearly had too many tables because it was just super slow. Nice sized patio that is definitely larger than the indoor seating options. I would go back to give it another try but I definitely favor other locations better.

The focaccia bread and dipping sauce was very good to start. We also ordered the bruschetta trio. I hadn't read the menu clearly and they were large pieces of one with arugula, cherry tomatoes and an eggplant and onion bruschetta. I think if the bread was toasted better it would've been tastier. It is a bit difficult to eat as it is packed and wished the tomatoes were chopped up. I ordered the Carbonara Calabrese and never had carbonara with artichokes. It is a smaller portion for an Italian restaurant and unfortunately it was just okay. I really needed the crushed red pepper for more flavor. The guanciale had a bit too much fat for my liking. My friend had the gnocchi pomodoro and we thought the gnocchi was overcooked as it was quite mushy. Unfortunately I was disappointed as I had high hopes for this restaurant but have had much better.

Gross. The calzone was stuffed with what I could prosciutto and ham, not anything I would call "spicy salami." Train wreck. Won't do this again.

I am always on the lookout for an excellent pizza spot, and Terún definitely hit the mark!…read more I ordered the Calabria Margarita and San Daniele pizza. I love a good spicy marg (and I also love Calabrian chili oil) but should warn that this one is *actually* spicy! This wasn't quite the spicy marg that I was going for. However, the pizza was delicious! The crust was so soft and fluffy, and despite eating a majority of the pizza, it didn't sit heavy. I loved the prosciutto, mushroom and truffle oil combination. My boyfriend also loved his pizza and the crust, but I would add that this isn't the meat lovers pizza spot (obviously the menu is Italian but I think we were still surprised there wasn't at least one option or additional toppings). The service was great and the restaurant was clean, bright and lively on a Saturday night!

The weather was good, so we sat in the back patio and it was so nice. I ordered the Dungeness crab fettuccine and it was really well made, but a little too salty for me (although I'm very sensitive to salt so it's probably not too salty for the average diner). My husband ordered the short ribs. He enjoyed his dish but wished there were some vegetables in it. My favorite part was the complimentary bread. So warm and delicious. We came for my husband's birthday, so they actually prepared a small piece of chocolate mousse cake with candle for him after our meal, which was a nice surprise! It was very good--not too sweet. Service was also excellent. Gratuity is already included into your bill, and they're kind enough to remind you of it when giving you the check.

Ordered salmon on the side which was cooked and salted well. *Fettuccini Carbonara(9/10)- Served with pancetta, English green peas, and mushrooms in a white cream sauce. Pasta was fresh with perfect amount of sauce ratio. A lot great of texture and the meat added some saltiness to the dish. It does have too much mushroom for my preference *Sausage & Honey Flatbread(8.7/10)- Tomato sauce, homemade Italian sausage, serrano peppers, mascarpone. *Fortaleza Repo Winter Blend Margarita (8.8/10)- drink was delicious. Tequila was definitely spot on and is high quality. However it's mostly ice and definitely not worth $55 Ambience: restaurant is very elegant and clean. A bar on the back. Great for special occasions. Offers both indoor and outdoor options. Service: Great service. Servers were attentive, gives recommendations, and communicates with you at a personal level. Price: Expensive. Be aware that there's a 20% gratuity already Parking: plenty of parking in the front
