I had the chili rellanos which were 2 good sized poblano peppers stuffed with a great cheese mixture, breaded and fried. They were tasty and really good. We were joined by a friend who had the happy hour beef tacos ... also really good. They had a wide nicely curated selection of tequilas, mezcals, sotols, etc. Molly, an off-duty employee, gave me a quick education on 'washed' tequilas, etc. Molly knows her stuff + Am B was very attentive. Closed soon for a month but plans are to reopen for summer and beyond. We loved the experience!!! As an addendum, they specifically told me how to reheat my Rellano later! One thing we really appreciated was how cool he was about the menu. My son wanted to order off the kids menu and Trevor had no issue with it at all. The food also came out really fast and everything we got was solid. Trevor kept checking in at the perfect times and made sure our waters stayed full without being annoying about it. He also talked with us about skiing and the conditions around Breckenridge, which was cool because we had just been out on the mountain. It felt like talking to someone who actually enjoys the town and the people coming through. The best part was honestly after we left. We accidentally forgot something at the table and didn't realize until we were already outside. When we came back, Trevor was literally waiting with it ready to give it back to us. He made sure our experience felt personal and unhurried. He checked in on us consistently throughout the meal -- never intrusive, always attentive -- and it was clear that he truly cared about the quality of what was coming out of the kitchen and how it was presented to us. We fell in love with their original location years ago. Their beer is fantastic. The service and atmosphere, though, is what keeps us coming back. The Broken Compass team works at both locations. Claire was our favorite team member but everyone on the team does a great job at inviting you to feel welcome. They're amazing. My favorite beer is their coconut porter. It has a hint of fresh coconut and is a lighter side of porter, not too syrupy. It's well balanced and might I dare say--it's perfect. That said, I haven't had a beer here that I didn't like. They have a great layout at the original location, though you wouldn't think it being in a commercial warehouse. There's a big garage door that opens in the back to outdoor seating. There's this amazing mural in the back of the building. The crowd there all seem to know each other which I am amazed at each time we visit. It's a more local vibe at the original location than the more touristy accessible location on Main Street. The original location has a super cozy vibe, lots of board games (or bring your own).
