    Margaritas on HAPPY HOUR special
    Scott B.

Hey, Yelp community!! Are you hankering for a taco or margarita? If so, then check out this no nonsense taco joint in Hells Kitchen. They have what you are looking for--yummy, simple Mexican food and tasty drinks. They even have a great happy hour where the price is right on tasty snacks and yummy margaritas. Things to try include the nachos and all of the flavors of tacos. And, if you're a beef eater, please check out the short rib taco. It's spectacular. You also can't go wrong with any of the margaritas. They are made with fresh lime (never a mix), and they are strong! Although 'ritas has plenty of seating in the dining area, I like to sit at the bar when I go there. The bartenders are nice and fun and help make the overall experience even more enjoyable!

Once again bestie and I snagged some Broadway tickets (Back to the Future). It has become a tradition that we grab some grub from a spot "new to us" prior to the show. So as per usual we parked and walked in the direction of the theatre. We stumbled upon 'ritas simply because the skull mural outside caught bestie's eye. As we entered we notice the February HH specials and that sealed the deal. The atmosphere is intimate yet comfortable as far as seating with all high-tops. Daniel fretted us and directed us to a table. We knew we were going for the HH margs and tacos and some guac, just for a balanced meal. Lol. I went with fish tacos and pineapple-ginger margarita. The pineapple-ginger was refreshing with a little hint of spice from the ginger. Tacos were ok but the guacamole, by far stole the show. We decided that guac alone may force us to re-write the tradition of show night and run back to 'ritas for a repeat. Just a note: The margaritas are $2 add'l for flavors.

'Ritas is the latest addition to the Mexican restaurant scene in Hell's Kitchen. It's interesting to see how much the neighborhood has changed over the years - what used to be known as 'Little Bangkok' is now dominated by Mexican eateries. We enjoy dropping by Ritas for a refreshing frozen margarita or two and some salsa mesa as a pre-dinner treat. The place is always buzzing with activity whenever we visit, and it's not hard to see why. With reasonable prices and excellent customer service, it's no wonder that Ritas has become a favorite among locals.

This is a great little Mexican spot in Hell's Kitchen. We came around 4:30pm and were the only people there for a little while (they do not have happy hour deals, apparently). The menu is very limited but there are still options for a variety of tastes. I was surprised how easy it was to find some dairy-free options as well. Our serve was Justin and he was excellent. The food came out quickly, albeit not very hot. There is a bathroom but it did not have paper towels or a hand dryer which was odd. The prices are on the higher side. The chips and guac ($12) was a very good side portion and the chips were extremely salty which went great with the creamy guacamole. However it was $12 for two small chicken tacos. The Frosé margarita ($15) was great and really refreshing on a hot day. It's fruity and has aperol in it.

The beau and I stopped on a whim looking for a good happy hour. When we arrived, the place was quiet, but it quickly filled up with local patrons. The margaritas were pretty good and it was the first time I've seen them on tap anywhere. We had multiple rounds of tacos since they were 2/$5. We tried the shrimp, the fish, and the sloppy Joses (comes with hard shells). They were small, about 2 biters, and tasty. I especially enjoyed the hard taco shell for a change. We had a fun time but with the amount of Mexican places in Hells Kitchen, this one doesn't stand out for any particular reason.

Highly recommend for really good margaritas and tacos. The margaritas were not really sweet which was nice and there are plenty of flavors to choose from. The tacos were great as well. They have an option to get 3 tacos and you can pick and choose which 3 you want from the menu. Reasonable prices as well and quick service!

Came here during the Halloween parade they were packed outside but had some seats inside, inside was beautiful and huge. The Staff was so nice and friendly and everyone was dressed up. We took a picture with the waitress who was just the sweetest lady ever. The food was also very tasty and fairly priced for the proportions. We split tacos and Chicken Quesadilla. We had a few drinks and decided to finish the night at the bar having shots.

Window seating great for people watching only to match their tasty Margarita's. Went for drinks after the theatre and Lincoln, the bartender was very friendly. It was a great way to top off a special night. Would definitely recommend this neighborhood restaurant and look forward to returning.

Before heading to see a Broadway show, my girlfriend and I stopped here for some food. We were in the mood for some Mexican food, and this place looked great. Plus it was only a few blocks away from where we needed to be. We arrived at a good time, as we were able to get seated right away. Although this place had a good drink menu selection, we decided not to try any drinks. Just soda and water. We did order the steak nachos and chicken quesadilla, and split both. The food was awesome. The steak nachos were loaded with steak pieces and many toppings. The chicken quesadilla was very good too. They used good shredded chicken inside the quesadilla and it worked well. Overall, this was the perfect place to stop for quick Mexican food. Service was excellent too. We enjoyed our experience here.

Came to 'Ritas Cinco De Mayo weekend prior to their opening and was very happy with the experience! My husband and I live in Hell's Kitchen and stopped by Ritas to ring in the holiday weekend. The service was excellent and the drinks were exceptional! We both had the frozen margarita and shared the Guacamole and chips - the guacamole is great! Please keep the guac recipe just as it is! The menu was limited due to the fact that the restaurant has not officially opened yet, but I am definitely excited to come back and try additional menu items. Definitely glad we stopped by and I look forward to coming back after the May 14 to try more items. Welcome to the neighborhood Ritas and keep up the great work:)

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

Also got guacamole and chips as a side - which was on the smaller side given the price. All in all it's a good lunch option in the city!

I had this place bookmarked for a while. Finally came for my birthday dinner. It was a rainy…read moreevening and I was hoping there'd be umbrella sleeves offered. I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
