This Rite Aid is horrible. The Pharmacist never answers the phone for questions. It is dangerous when you need advice on a prescription and can't reach them no matter how long you try. The one that they closed on 17th Street was much better. read more

I've been going to this Rite Aid pharmacy for the past 3+ years. Dr. Pouya has built an impressive team that has consistently delivered some of the best customer service I've ever seen. They are all very organized and efficient while being extremely friendly. This is not your typical pharmacy where you need to wait an excessive amount of time but instead they overdeliver on getting you your medication, shots, etc. as fast as possible. I don't ever plan on changing pharmacies unless I move cities. read more

This pharmacy is Insane! The level of incompetence and unaccountability is staggering and dangerous. I've had issues here for years but this last situation completely blew my mind I had to switch to cvs. I dropped off my prescription for four medications and was told it will be ready in 20 minutes. I waited and got the txt saying that my prescription was ready, I walked up and saw there was now a line and decided to just come back the next day. When I came back the next day they had NO RECORD of the prescription I had dropped off the day before, the girl I was dealing with wasn't there. I stood there forever while the manager guy looked the whole time questioning that I ever dropped anything off..he kept saying "we don't loose things here" I showed him the txt I got saying something was ready for me and he gave me a z pack stating that it wasn't part of the prescription I had dropped off the day before but rather an old prescription from over a month ago lol and he showed me A copy of said old prescription. Now I know that THAT old prescription had already been filled cus I took that z pack for my throats Infection. BUT HE WOULDNT BELIEVE ME. It felt like crazy town. Then he told me he'd call my dr and get a new copy of this supposed prescription that he didn't loose! I called the following day he said he couldn't reach my dr and insisted again that they didn't loose my prescription, I asked if he had talked to the woman who took it from me he said no..lol so How the hell does he know?! 5 seconds later I called my dr no problem getting him on the phone so I know that incompetent pharmacist was just lying, and had my dr resend the prescription to a new pharmacy and yes a zpack was a part of that 4 part prescription. It suddenly dawned on me that I could LOOK at the z pack the moron pharmacist gave me to see the ORIGINAL Date of prescription, low and behold it was 3 days ago and not 5 weeks ago like he claimed, I had the smoking gun! They had NO RECORD of my prescription from 3 days ago, filled it partially for some reason, and had NO IDEA that they had done so and repeatedly claimed that they do not loose prescriptions ever hahahah. Complete and total lunacy. Wildly incompetent, watch out they WILL MESS UP YOUR MEDs. That male pharmacist who presides over all those female employees should be fired. read more

This RiteAid has everything. For some reason they have a lot of GNC products. I came here solely for their ice cream and a bag of Lays barbecue chips. They had a promotion where if you buy two big bags, you would pay $3.00 for both (with card). You can't go wrong with RiteAid ice cream. I've been eating RiteAid ice cream since I was a little girl. The scoops are enormous. I remember when the prices used to be $1.25 for a single scoop. Now the price is $1.75 for a scoop. That's still fine with me. Try the mint chocolate chip. read more

I arrived to the store 5 mins before closing and a young lady who work tells me that the store was closed. I told it her it's not even 11 oclock and she says its 5 mins till and refuse to open it . I ran to the store because I needed heart burn medication and some ice cream to help me from being in pain the whole night. This very generous one star is for the Pharmacy only. This has got to be the absolute worst pharmacy in the country, and I wish I could say I was exaggerating. Every single time I've had to use them has been an absolute nightmare. IF they answer the phone they will likely put you on hold without so much as saying "hello, please hold", you're just on hold all of a sudden. I just called multiple times and finally got someone.. he put me on hold, then he picked up again as if I was a new caller and when I told him I was still waiting he put me on hold again. Finally a woman picks up only to tell me that they don't have any prescriptions for me!!!! I told her to check again and then she tells me they are out of my medication and to call back in the morning. I have been dealing with this back and forth with them for about a month!!!!!!! If my doctor didn't send my prescription electronically I would have 100% gone elsewhere. To say that this pharmacy staff is very rude and unprofessional is a vast understatement. read more

Would give a 0 if I could. I never had an issue filling prescriptions at vons outside of the occasional backorder, which was always communicated and the prescription was always filled without any extra effort from me once the meds were stocked. Since transferring my meds here, I haven't had success picking up a single thing and the lines are outrageously long. In addition to long lines in store, every time I call I am put on hold for 15+ minutes and the pharmacist I speak to is incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I told him he was rude, he told me he was a pharmacy doctor, not a restaurant and "I should be so lucky he's taking time out of his day to explain things to me". To be clear, he didn't explain anything to me. He just talked down to me, talked over me, and continued to harp on a single, specific medication that has been backordered when I had questions on a total of 5 prescriptions. To add to the confusion, the other rite aid in Venice on Lincoln which is closer to me (despite being much kinder and more helpful on the phone) isn't able to see ANYTHING in the system despite this man claiming there is a central database and they should be able to see it all. All in all this entire experience has been a nightmare and I cannot stand this pharmacy or the male pharmacist. After I get this months medications (which I have been struggling to pick up and off of for 6+ weeks), I will be transferring to a Ralph's. Customer service and helpfulness is important regardless of what industry you work in. Good riddance. read more

Just went to get my Covid shot. I had a 10:15 Appt. I arrived at 10:10 only to see a line of at least 10 people waiting. I tried to ask the pharmacist where I go for my shot Appt. He rudely told me to get in line with everyone else that was waiting for their Appt. and that it would be an hour wait, at least. What's the point of an appointment? I've always disliked this pharmacy and the pharmacist and it was unfortunately reconfirmed again today. My mistake trying to get my shot here. read more

Waited awhile then I said "anyone here" as I walked towards a room in front of the counter that was completely open. The pharmacist yelled at me "anyone with a common sense would know not to come into the room." Startled, I corrected him that I did not enter the room but was at the door. When I asked for his name, he covered his name tag and said it's on the door of the building. Then I asked other employees at the pharmacy for his name, he intimidated his coworkers and demanded that I leave immediately or he would call security and Santa Monica Police. This is my go to pharmacy and convenience store - I rarely go anywhere else for my pharmacy, toiletry, or late night snacking needs. This rite aid by far has the most personable staff of any other convenience store I've been to. Every time I walk into the door the cashier greets me with a warm "hello, I hope you're having a great day!" The most special thing about this rite aid is their pharmacy staff. My pharmacist Pouya is so friendly and takes care of me like he REALLY cares for me as another human, not just a customer. After my first two visits, he started to recognize me and every time I walk through the front door, he always greets me with a warm welcome. He's super attentive and goes out of his way to help me, not to mention he knows anything and everything about medicine. Just yesterday during Thanksgiving, I arrived at the pharmacy 5 min before closing and he stayed after closing to fill my prescriptions because I was suffering from a bad case of strep throat. I spent my entire wait in line listening to the pharmacist being incredibly rude to someone on the phone. Then it was my turn to be treated badly by said pharmacist. I completely understand it is a trying time in the world for everyone, but if you are client facing and have just gotten off the phone with a possibly difficult customer- you have to be able to put that aside to deal pleasantly (at least, neutrally) with the next customer. I was in the pharmacy on Monday and was told the medication I was looking for would be back in stock on Wednesday. After enquiring I was snapped at. The entire staff behind that counter seem to have taken on his negative attitude and energy. I have skimmed the reviews and it seems like this pharmacist has many poor reviews about his manner. This pharmacy is the WORST. I find the pharmacy manager (Pouya) to be incredibly rude and incompetent (the others are no better). Pouya will question you like you're a criminal if you try to get your medication filled on time. The manager has zero professional judgment​​ and appears to only be interested in asserting his purported "power". The manager speaks very loudly (shouts over the windows often) and very rudely on private matters​ and tries to embarrass​ and borderline harass you, the customer (!), for reasons that are beyond me. I will never go to this Rite Aid again, and I encourage others to think twice. This pharmacy is a joke. read more

No organization, wrong meds ordered or ordered when not requested, ridiculous wait times, zero customer service, pharmacy staff hates being there and you can tell. Approach it as a comedy and get one of the seats they have there. This pharmacy is the best you'll find anywhere in LA. The pharmacists, Pouya Fakheri and Lisa are expert. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. They greet their customers by name and are extremely helpfulat explaining new medicines. I get all of my vaccines here. As I am not a big fan of needles or injections, I am extremely grateful for the care Pouya takes administering the vaccines. The shots are painless--Pouya is a master! This Rite-Aid is like other Rite-Aids except for the Pharmacy. It's the best in town. Couldn't recommend it more. read more

In the nearly 36 years I have been living here in Santa Monica I have used both the CVS on SM blvd which is good and this Rite Aid on 14th & Wilshire which is very good. The one thing that stands out at this Rite Aid is the very professional manager Robert who has been the store manager for decades. I have noticed him over the years being a non stop organized hard worker who is very well mannered, extremely courteous and polite to all customers, calm, focused, and it is very clear that he takes pride in doing an excellent job which he does. I am a retired school teacher, and I would make a point of doing a character/ethics/civics lesson with the students explaining to them the dignity of hard work and how important it is to an educated society. I have written maybe a handful, about a half dozen yelp reviews since I got my first laptop twenty years ago, so my taking the time to write this review of this very good Rite Aid with it's excellent manager is very telling. So, I'd been living in Santa Monica for about 2 years and it has been, no doubt, the most beautiful place I've ever lived. I hope to come back someday, but med school calls and I don't really want to do that down here in SoCal. Two things though that put a black mark on my 2 years in Santa Monica are the Rite Aid and Vons on Wilshire & 14th. Both places have a real loitering problem. Just yesterday, I got cat-called for having "nice boobs" by a homeless man as I tried to go get allergy medicine. I was wearing a bulky sweater and my nose was bright red, as I was pretty sick and it was all icky out. I was so disgusted, I walked right back out and to my car. I am one of those girls who just can't stand those kinds of comments. They embarrass me and make me want to KICK YOUR ASS. The Vons, similarly, ALWAYS has someone asking for money out front. You can't avoid it. Now, I'm a pretty generous person. But I really don't like to be panhandled when I'm at these two stores 3-4 times a week. And the stores do nothing about it. Both stores are equally dirty and have rude and/or uninterested staff. With the noted exception of the one girl staffer at Starbucks in the Vons, who is always so cheerful and sweet to me on my 7:30 am coffee runs. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I had to weigh in on these two. If you can shop anywhere else, I suggest you do just that. read more
