I had a really disappointing experience here and unfortunately will not be returning. I ordered through the drive-thru and the experience started off rough. It took quite a while for someone to even acknowledge me at the speaker before taking my order. After that, the wait for the food was longer than expected, and when I finally received my order, part of it was missing. The food itself was honestly one of the worst Mexican meals I've had. Everything was extremely greasy and the flavor was very lackluster. After eating part of it, I started feeling pretty sick and couldn't finish the meal. I ended up throwing the rest away. Between the slow service, the missing item, and the quality of the food, the whole experience was very disappointing. I would not go back and unfortunately can't recommend this location. read more

What can I say when I used to live in California in Sacramento on the Auburn boulevard in 1967 a white American decided to make tacos and his tacos they used parmesan cheese on the shelf they actually are the best Mexican style food I've ever had in my entire life I was sad when I moved to Texas and they didn't have one but I would move back to Reno and sure enough they have two or three locations nobody makes tacos burritos or any of the other food that these people it is so amazingly good you'll never taste better Mexican food it's simple and The taste is like no other Mexican food it's like they're the Rolls-Royce and Taco Bell is the Hyundai sonata if you catch my draft if you love tacos burritos and taco salads and such this is the place to go I was so excited when we moved to Reno and they had them they've been around again like I said since 1967 in Sacramento some white boy they were called American tacos ;-) I strongly recommend going for me it's a fix I got to have it I don't need it all the time but when I'm chosen for it I definitely go there I won't eat any other fast food anywhere when it comes to Mexican food it's all crap this is real stuff and if you can't eat it at all even the tacos you take out the lettuce sticking in a toaster oven for a couple minutes and it tastes like it was fresh read more

Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I found a huge piece of hair in my food at Jimboy's Tacos, and when I reached out to the company, no solution or apology was offered. Not even the decency of a response. This isn't just a bad experience--it's a health code violation. Hair in food is not only revolting, it shows a complete lack of cleanliness and quality control in the kitchen. What's worse is the zero accountability from corporate or local management. If this is how they handle serious complaints, I can't imagine what else is being overlooked. I say in the drive thru for about 30 minutes and ordered 7 ground beef tacos. I asked the girl for 3 green sauces and extra taco sauce. She handed me my food. I said you got my sauce in there and she said I sure did. I get home. We were told that this was a must-try if we were visiting Reno. We were greeted by a friendly girl. Told her it was our first time here and asked what her favorite to eat here. She said the honey chicken was her go-to. We ordered the taco six-pack, two honey chicken tacos, two burger tacos, and a carnitas taco. We were the only one in the restaurant but there were a lot of pick-up orders. Our number was called pretty fast. We also were given mild, medium, and hot sauces. Let me say, it did not disappoint! They are known to be greasy but good! The honey chicken had a nice crunch and a touch of sweetness. It had lettuce, cilantro, onions, diced tomatoes, salsa, and a dusting of parmesan powder. I mixed the medium and hot sauce and put some on the honey chicken taco! It was delicious! The carnitas taco was delicious as well. It had good taste and the lime with the sauces took it to another level. The burger tacos tasted like a burger without all the carbs! It was messy and greasy but oooohhh it was delicious! I've been here more than once for just fries well before closing (20-30 mins) and they already threw them all out for the night. Why throw out fries before closing if you can make another sale? The fries here are amazing, which is why I go here for just fries sometimes. I went here 30 minutes before closing and the employee said they're closed, but it said "drive thru open" and it wasn't closing time yet. I wasn't ordering a 5 course meal, just wanted some fries. It's 2024, not sure why they're closing early and missing out on sales. 1. Closing early but leaving the neon "drive thru open" sign on. This will attract drivers to stop for food, but waste their time. 2. Throw away fries and not make any fries for a customer ready to pay for fries. Allowing this is going to hurt your business because 1. Customers are sad they can't get fries. 2. You're missing out on sales. This location loves to close early. Don't make plans right after work, assume closing will take some time after the restaurant is officially closed. Closing the kitchen early for a fast food spot is a bad idea. It's supposed to be "fast food", but I got no food and lost some valuable time. Alternatively, change your hours to close earlier if people are going to randomly close early. It was a waste of time for me to try and purchase fries and leave with nothing. They were not closed according to Google hours and the sign in the front. If someone comes through the drive thru 30 minutes before closing for fries, they should be able to offer this to customers. I've gotten food here and it is pretty good (burritos/ fries). read more

Newer location. Was very clean in the dining room, however it was empty. Was promptly greeted when I walked in, as soon as I was ready the cashier took my order. The food came out very quickly, and tasted like just as expected. Their tacos are known for being greasy and coated in parmesan cheese. If you don't like a good greasy taco this place is not for you. I ordered 2 tacos and a side of the queso fries. The tacos were great the queso fries were potato wedges and a flavorless cheese sauce dip. I'll be back for the tacos, but not the queso. I have given this place three tries. All three have been absolutely terrible. Chicken taquitos have been burnt to a crisp to the point where they have opened and the chicken is gone in part of each one. This was in all three visits. The oil is very old and makes everything taste terrible. The fish taco had no lemon, lots of red cabbage and a burnt tasting fish fill fillet. We wanted to get something quick and stopped here about 4:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. We took a few moments to peruse the menu board which is was mounted on the wall and too small to easily read. We made our selections and placed our order at the counter. The employee who took our order seemed frustrated and not interested in being friendly. We had a seat and waited for our name to be called. I took a quick look at the salsa bar and it was a joke. It was dirty and most of the sauces were close to being out and the verde sauce which is what I would have chose was completely gone. There were only two other tables with customers in the place but in the entire time we were there no one wiped off dirty tables or refilled any of the salsas. Our name was called and we picked up our order. My wife ordered two tacos and I ordered a ground beef and cheese burrito. As we began eating we both commented on the large amount of grease on the wrappers and as we ate them unfortunately there was more grease. We both commented that the flavor wasn't very good and it was hard to enjoy. We both opted to not finish our meals. Not impressed at all - we will not be back. Yuck!! I honestly have waited over a year to post because, I keep bringing my business here so, I shouldn't complain, but tonight was the worst. Ordered at the drive thru with our normal order. I asked for them to "add carne asada" to my chicken avocado salad *silence* she then spoke up "we don't do that, it is a chicken avocado salad" instead of arguing my normal order I said it's ok just forget it. I get to the window and it is 4 minutes before anyone even comes to the window. She then takes my card and is gone for 2 minutes. She comes back to say "wait, you had two kids meals right?" I agreed and she gives me card back and leaves for 4 more minutes. I watch cars stack up behind me and people wait inside at the counter getting no service. She comes back and give the the food through the window and rushes away not to be seen. I get home which is a 5 minute drive to find salads made with shredded chicken that has pooled a ton of liquid that the salad is just sitting in. There was also no dressing (my bad for not checking the bag.) I open my sons bag and they gave him a quesadilla with the cheese not even melted. Management needs to get in here and train. Horrible experience. Made a simple order, 3 of the same thing. Order was repeated to me at the window, I paid and got my order. After looking at my order I realized that the tacos where incorrect. I went in and asked for them to correct the issue, they wanted to see my bag. I went back and got my bag, and my receipt. Upon looking at my receipt, I realize not only did I get the wrong food, I was also charged for the wrong meals. The women in the front basically accused me of having an order that I didn't have, and wouldn't give me what I was owed, even though I had handed her back the tacos they made incorrectly. So not only was I over charged for my meal, I didn't even receive what I ordered, nor what I was charged for. I paid $40 for 3 bean burritos and a side of beans and rice. I was very upset, but as the women was pregnant, I decided to leave. Will be calling corporate. This is their newest location. It's by far much nicer than their original location off Virginia or the one off Wells. My dining experience was much different than the previous reviews. Matter of fact, it was the complete opposite. Perhaps, the previous negative reviews were growing pains of a new location. This location was easy to find off the main road and has ample parking. Inside the restaurant was very clean, and complete with a salsa bar with many different options. I just tried the verde salsa, which was amazing! The staff was very friendly and service was pretty quick. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for our order. The shredded beef tacos are my favorite and a must try for everyone! Food is always done right! However, you shouldn't go on your lunch hour or when you're short of time. The wait is ALWAYS long.

First, I've been a fan of Jimboy's for years and years, so this was a massive disappointment. I ordered food to hold me over while my husband was in the hospital for surgery. I placed the order online, got the confirmation, and sent my husband to pick it up, (before he left for the hospital.) He gets all the way there, and they don't have the order. He gets all the way back home, and now they have the order, so he goes all the way back, and they want to give him the food that's been sitting there 1 1/2 hours! I don't think so! He asks them to make it again, has a little tiff with the manager or whoever, and supposedly they make it again, so he sits there and waits, yet again. (oh, the line behind him was SO happy). Did they apologize? No. Pissed me off big time. Oh, and they got the order wrong to top it off, didn't get the burritos and their fillings right, but that's just icing on the cake. So, we get the order home. We eat, after he come home, (couple of days), and we both get sick. Was it the Jimboy's food? Can't really say for sure, but I certainly have my suspicions. Did they really remake it when they said they did? He says yes, it was hot. I have my suspicions. Will I go to Jimboy's again? No. Will I order online? No. Do I hold a grudge? Yes. Now I just don't trust that location, and since it's the one closest to our house (relatively), there's no Jimboy's in our future. Do they care? No. Do we? I have eaten Jimboy's tacos all my life. I have never been more disappointed than I have been since I went to the Lemmon Valley location. I tried going back several times thinking maybe it was just a bad day. The wait time for food is consistently and extremely long. The employees are extremely young and appeared to think that they're playing a game. My order is rarely correct which takes more of my time to get it corrected. My theory is this Jimboy's restaurant it's just a investment for the owner and he really doesn't care how it's ran. I suggest going to the taco truck in the same parking lot because they probably have better food and better service. I will never go back to this Jimboy's tacos again. Let me start by saying that only over the past year have I discovered Jimboy's and I've been to all the other ones in Reno, but this was my first time here at this location and my first time having a problem. I was working an evening shift and had tacos on my mind. C'mon, who doesn't?! I knew I could order my food at this Jimboy's online and it would be ready when I got off work. The point is that it would be ready and I'd swing by and pick it up cause I'd be quite hungry late in the evening. Well... that didn't happen! I got there and went inside so I could check it out, it's very clean inside, and I went to get my food. Guess what? No food! They didn't even know about my order! I had ordered it about an hour and half previously and had set the time for when I'd be there. So the lady at the counter went in the back and then there was some yelling and when she came out she said they'd make it for me! But that totally defeats the purpose of ordering it online and having it ready when you get off work right? The people in the back really didn't seem to care and nobody apologized or anything. Anyway, I ordered a killer salad, some chips and guac, and extra fresh tortillas. I ran out the door with my food cause I was so damn hungry after waiting the extra 15 minutes and I didn't bother to check it. F***!!! When I got home to eat my food... No guac for my chips! The tortillas were not warm in the least! No plastic utensils for my salad! And only 1 teeny tiny thing for dressing for my salad, and I'm talking it was small, definitely not enough dressing! And then... the worst part... the chips were stale!!! I'm talking hard as a rock stale! Holy cow! I ate like 3 or 4 and then I was just done! They must've given me the bottom of the barrel! Honestly, I kind of feel that was done intentionally. This place isn't that brand new anymore, but it seems like they still have lots of kinks to work out.
