I was pleasantly surprised. When I discovered that a restaurant was making my favorite childhood memory, Ma Glockner's chicken and cinnamon rolls. It was exactly the same maybe even better. Terrible service. They always seem understaffed here even though it is consistently busy. Called ahead to make a reservation and ended up having to leave a message because no one picked up. Of course when we got there an hour later, the staff claimed theyd been picking up the phone all night and didn't get my message about a reservation (maybe try listening to your messages?) When we arrived, we were told that it was an hour wait, even though there was an abundance of open tables, not to mention our group as well as one other couple was blatantly ignored by the bar staff when trying to ask if we could sit on the city side bar area. Reservations for 10 at 4:00, on Mothers' Day, seated at 4:15, ordered drinks, apps and dinner around 4:33. 5:05 the waitress tells us that there is no more shrimp scampi....ok I guess 5:30 (still no main meals served) the waitress comes back to tell us there is no more lobster, but the manager is coming out. This lady, whom I have been told is the owner's wife, had the NASTIEST attitude toward us, her paying customers. From jump she barely apologized, completely blew off the severity of the situation, asked two of my family members to pick something else off the already limited menu. I went to speak with her privately and expresss, quite calmly I may add considering I was PISSED and hungry, that the situation is unacceptable and she doesn't seem to care. She proceeds to say to me "you're appetizers were put in at 4:33, it's here in black and white." No what's black and white is that we sat at 4:15 and it's after 5:30 and not only does the table not have food you are attempting to put in two brand new orders while several tables have come and gone. She says "what do you want me to do, I'm not in the kitchen." IT IS YOUR RESTAURANT. You should be in the kitchen, at the bar, in the restroom. Guaranteed if this had happened to her she'd be belligerent. I tried to speak with her calmly as SHE raised her voice and caused a scene. We offered to pay for the 3 appetizers we did receive before leaving. The manager rudely stormed off saying "you don't have to pay for anything." What a way to run a restaurant. She and the owner should be ashamed. This was not a regular Friday night, It's Mothers' Day, and if you don't have enough food to supply your very limited menu, say that immediately. Worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a long time, open seats with no one waiting at 6:30 pm, waited 45 minutes with no one occupying the seats, had a couple over priced drinks, then told no more cold corona light, ordered a Miller lite, came warm and was told there was no cold light beer. Asked twice to change the TV station that no one was watching which didn't happen, asked about our seat and was told all the empty seats were for reservations that hadn't showed up. Asked to see a manager, he was in the kitchen, asked to see him anyway and he came out and tried, not hard to figure it out and wanted to know if we still wanted to eat there. Said thanks but no thanks. Let him know we were there a few times before and it was great but this was the worst experience I've had in a long time. Place has gone downhill. read more

Went during the week for a late lunch and had great service. Had their fried bay scallops and my girlfriend ordered their country style chicken. Both tasted great and were very generous potions. The beer selection is amazing. They were out of 2 beers at the time but the 20 others made up for it. They also do flights (or "paddles") for a decent price. I Went to River Falls with friends . while waiting for our table we sat at the bar for drinks and apps. the atmosphere was beautiful. everything else was lacking. i never write reviews but this was really to much . it was a friday night but not busy at all( should have been a clue) Bartenders 3 for only about 8- 10 people . ignored patrons asked for a drink but had to keep reminding we ordered apps, Mucles were cold no taste buffalo chicken was rubbery and cold sat under lights too long. friend got the app platter all unedible. I emailed resteraunt private but no reply they didnt care i guess. anyway we never stayed for dinner. I will never go back. read more

I've only been a few times to eat, service was ok, not overly impressed with the food. One warning: The bar side rounds UP to the nearest quarter. Even when you can see the screen with your total, and call them out on it, they still round up. Otherwise, the bands they've booked a couple times I went went were pretty decent. read more

The all you can eat shrimp is amazing! They have so many dishes to choose from! Yummy creamy pastas to pesto glazed shrimp. The only thing is alot of there all you can eat shrimp dishes come with huge portions of pasta. So what I do is I only get the shrimp without all the sides still comes in many different ways. When our group (Dance Competition) usually hit a town one of my first looks is securing food for the staff which also includes dinners. Sometimes it is necessary to find a franchise food establishment such s Fridays. We were so glad we located your restaurant for our dinners. We loved it so much we returned several times. We were in Woonsocket May 29-31 and again June 5-7. On our first visit I think Big Jim was our waiter, he was great we talked about his experience with 5 pound hamburger and I shared my 96 ounce steak in Texas. He was very attentive and fun to have as our waiter. He even brought you to our table to discuss my task in Texas. Everything was just wonderful. The following night we returned and were a little disappointed as the restaurant feature 28 ounce prime rib was not available in the cut we all wanted. We had to change the order and it was a little late coming, that happens. We work late at our shows and many places we eat are out of foods we select off the menu late night. I spoke with you about this and you offered so much in return, not so common in places in New York. The following weekend we were back in Woonsocket for another show. I arranged with you to call when our staff would be coming. A delay caused some staff to be late so part of us came to dinner on Friday. You were concerned that I didn't call first to ensure select meals would be available. I said we'll be back tomorrow too. The following evening we returned and our service, food and atmosphere was just great we all raved about it and still do. We return next year in May and can't wait to return and enjoy the whole experience. Anyone near the Woonsocket Rhode Island area should make it a point to have dinner at River Falls Restaurant. I like how they made an old mill nice again. Been here many times to sit at the bar with my wife and had an okay meal,never great! However walked in for an early Saturday family dinner and saw smirks on the host faces when they said it was an hour wait. They were all too happy to tell us it was a long wait however there was no one else waiting. I went here once for drinks back a few years ago and it was fun and clean. I recently went on fb to look into making reservations but discovered the manager/owner or whoever he was speaking at an awful tone to a patron who had a negative experience and decided to post it. I was turned off to going there just off of thag. Social media is an outlet for thos and it should not have been handled in that way. We specifically went to this restaurant on a Sunday, because they claim to have the recipes from the old Ma Glockner's restaurant in Bellingham, MA. My family had gone to Ma Glockner's once a year for their berched chicken dinner, which came with salad, cinnamon rolls, cranberry sauce, and french fries. They also had had an all-you-can-eat chicken dinner with chicken, rolls, cranberry sauce, shells, french fries, and salad. All but one of us had the Ma Glockner's chicken. We did NOT get Ma Glockner's chicken!! We simply got roasted chicken, which we assumed was the chicken for the all-you-can-eat dinner. The chicken itself was tasty, BUT we had specifically come for the berched chicken. There was nothing special about the roasted chicken. We could have had the same meal at another restaurant with a much shorter travel time. For shame!!! If they could not make the berched chicken for some reason, they should have told us upfront! Additionally, we were seated near the back where they apparently have a table or a large party. This is an open floor plan, and there was no sound buffers. There was a very noisy party while we were there. The staff had to have known how loud they were, because they were serving people in the same area. It would have been nice had they had the wherewithall to have asked them to lower their obnoxious voices to a more reasonable level. The food that we had was not bad. The cinnamon rolls were totally uninspired and certainly not like the ones at Ma Glockners. They don't claim that they are. Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in the can are far tastier. The parking area here is a joke. There are very few spaces. Most people have to park across the street, which is a double lane highway. The crosswalk buttons do not work. People drive far too fast for a congested area. read more

This restaurant is a gem in the rough that I happy to find in Woonsocket. I liked the food and the drinks here. Everything I have ordered along with the orders of the people with me was good with great flavor and healthy portions. The prices were reasonable and I was satisfied with each of both times I went here. I really like the feeling I got with this fun and friendly restaurant. You don't have to worry about having a really good time here. It's a very relaxing atmosphere here no matter what time you arrive. The place is large enough where you are not on top of each other but not too big where you feel like you're in a gym! It's ok to laugh while having a good time here. It's been my pleasure to take my friends from out of state here. I recommend everyone try this quality place. I have two issues with River Falls: the management/host and the food. I'll begin with the food. For northern Rhode Island dining, the prices are high for the quality of food. I would recommend venturing a few miles into Massachusetts or to downtown Providence for better food with the same prices. The steaks were nothing special (I make a better filet mignon on my own grill). The crab cake had a decent mix of filler and crab. The baked scrod was slightly overcooked. The prime rib had a nice flavor although it was accompanied by a dipping sauce that resembled sour cream. I would have given River Falls 3 stars based on food alone. But I didn't get take out, so the rest of this review is about the management and hosts at River Falls. When I arrived at 5:30pm on a Saturday night, I was told that there was a 30-45 minute wait. I would have gone to City Side (the pub area of the complex) if I wasn't with my family who were looking for a nice meal. As we waited 30 minutes, I noticed people with reservations would just walk up to the host stand and be seated before us. After 45 minutes of waiting, I asked the host how much longer and was told there were 2 groups in front of me. More people with reservations came in and were seated. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, I was told that we were next on the list. After 1 hour and 40 minutes, I almost went crazy. Obviously, I understand that reservations should be seated before walk-ins--but at what point do the walk-ins have a shot at sitting down? The host would have been better off to have informed my party that the restaurant was booked solid with reservations for the night. The manager finally came to the host stand to find my group a table--but that was it, no sorry, no let me comp you a drink--nothing. So my advice--make a reservation, don't have high expectations, and if you walk in and there is a line--walk outside and call the host for a reservation--you will get seated faster. read more

Recently went with three friends on a Saturday night, and we were seated around 8pm. Service was terrible-our waitress ran down the list of side dishes, and when I ordered the parmesan mashed potatoes, she said "We're out of those, that's why I didn't mention them". It was on the menu, that's what I was going by. Our salads took awhile and when they did come, our food showed up two minutes later! My prime rib came out cold, so when we finally flagged down the waitress, my friends were halfway done with their meals. The reheated prime-rib arrived on the same dirty plate they had taken away, and I shiver to think how many people put their fingers on it to make sure I wasn't lying. No apology for the inconvenience, either. The other meals were bland (seafood dishes) or else over-cooked (steak tips) and the side dishes of vegetables were shriveled up peas that would have gone into the trash anywhere else. If you're looking for a great meal, don't go to River Falls in Woonsocket! Clever use of space and location just cannot make up for bad food. read more

My brother and me went tonight for the prime rib and we had both had ordered it to be med-rare. The server didn't tell us that they didn't have med-rare as we ordered it ,as he should've. This would've gave us the opportunity to to choose something else if we wanted. He only told us when we were served our cold and well done prime rib. Also, my potatoes and green beans were only lukewarm, at best.I complained to the manager and she did asked if I wanted anything else from the menu, and I told her I would just like to have some hot potatoes and that the green beans were undercooked, so I didn't want to replace them. I did her a favor by not ordering another meal. One would think she would've gave us a percentage off our meals, but she didn't. Also our stuffed mushrooms were under cooked. The server was also very unattentive and this reflected in the tip I left him. We definitely won't be back. read more

My mother 83 years old sister and I went to River Falls. I had a 25.00 gift card that I had won with their winter wonderland envelope the previous week. When you order we had another envelope the waitress opens when you order. We had won a free appetizer. So of course we ordered our free appetizer and meals. Time to pay we gave the waitress the 25.00 gift card and she said you can not use the free appetizer and the gift card. We asked to speak to the manager Dave Gouin and he was in the kitchen and would not come speak to us. My mom paid the bill then the hostess chased us to the parking lot stating we owe $20.00. The bill was $55.00 originally. The hostess gave me another bill for $66.00 in the parking lot. My sister and I went back inside the restaurant had a few words asked to speak to the manager for the 4th time finally Dave Gouin the manager appeared. Dave said he was calling the police we said please call. He called the police and stated you are not welcome in this establishment. He said I am not worried about the $ I want them out of here. Three police cruisers showed up I paid what I was told I owed. The winter wonderland envelopes they give is a joke. It is very disappointing when you would like to speak to a manager and he will not confront the customer when we asked several times. Needless to say I will not be going there ever again. I told the manager did you hear about social media his response is I don't care about social media. Sad part is my mom & sister go there every Friday. We are banned from the establishment. After what happened they do not want to ever go eat there again. When we asked the hostess inside about the bill she said I dont know. The assistant manager didnt know. I've tried to be patient with the uneven service here. Today we tried to go for lunch and were told there would be a 20 minute wait. As those with reservations flocked in and flew past us we noticed that those even without reservations were able to get a table. I politely asked the hostess and she curtly responded "they are cleaning up your table now". Another 7 minutes pass with nothing. Finally they come to take us to our table and it is a table that I had watched for the ENTIRE duration. Why, because it was empty. So for over 20 minutes we waited for an empty table to "be cleaned". When I confronted the host about my observations she said that it is their policy to provide attention to those with a reservation. That doesn't make any sense? So we have to wait in a holding pattern until every reservation comes through the door? It was just over the top unprofessional so we decided to walk across the street and dine with a competitor. It was fantastic, with FRIENDLY service. I see from the other posts that this is one of the lowest reviewed restaurants in the City. Now I know why. It is too bad since the atmosphere is fantastic. read more

We go here a lot because we live close by. The service is terrible!!!! The waitresses are horrible, and you hope each time you go you get the one good one there! The food if the kitchen gets it correct can be good. I never do the nights where they have the all you can eat stuff, it is just not my thing. I've just never had a meal there that I can say was wonderful. There is usually a wait, especially now that they have outdoor seating. The kitchen has never cooked our burger correct, my steak tips, or anything but the fried fish. This place is overrated and overpriced (especially drinks and never any draft beer specials like other places that have 1.99 draft specials every day of the week like Roast House) note...the drink glasses have a marked line where the booze stops. Now fill the glass with ice first (which they do), and that line is cut in half again. You pay $8.00 for a drink with about an eyedropper of booze in it. Only the 2nd visit for us; we stumbled upon River Falls, thanks to Yelp on Bubba Gump Shrimp night. I had coconut shrimp, vegetable risotto and fresh green beans; husband had Thai salmon, all very tasty, and well prepared. Excellent service, well made drinks, warm bread with seasoned oil and butter. Tried again on a busy Saturday night for my son's birthday, reservations honored right on time, once again great service by a waiter with mucho experience, a well oiled machine. Both times, we were visited by the manager to make sure all was AOK. There was a whole page of comfort food on that cold night, and the meatloaf dinner was pronounced "solid" by the birthday boy who's a bit more the haute cuisine type. I had prime rib, cooked perfectly, and that vegetable risotto again, I love that stuff. We've been looking for a place to have dinner before the shows at Chan's, and 1/4 mile away, this place is perfect, and the prices are more than reasonable. How can you not like a restaurant with a whole page of calamari on the menu? We had that too. read more

We went here last night. Brought our children from Boston here for a birthday meal. Was totally embarrassed and never will return again!! They brought our appetizer at the same time as our salad. What kind of service is this? Then waitress brought the oil for bread and said they were baking more fresh bread but it was after we got our main meal that we got bread and at that had to ask for it. It was not even busy inside restaurant!! They were probably trying to focus on the patrons by the water and didn't care about inside patrons. When we got the prime rib they didn't even ask who got the medium or the well done one. They just placed it there. The only food that had delicious taste was the risotto and the ribs. My recommendation for River Falls....( Don't go ) unless you like food that is cooked to get out of the kitchen fast and with no care to the customers taste. We were their as a birthday party group and the management was very rude to the guest and to the host of the party. We will never go back....And sure the 25 other people in the party will not be recomending this place to there family and friends. i ate out at river falls in woonsocket today, july 8, 2020 with my boyfriend. we made a reservation for 8pm, arrived and were quickly seated outside by a very nice young lady. we then sat at our table until 8:34 without being greeted. we were only greeted because another server (a tnice young man with a nice faded hairstyle working outdoors as well) noticed we had been sitting for a long time and apologized and went to find our server. our server (the receipts says "waiter 30 becca" but she never even told us her name) finally arrived and didn't even apologize for being so slow. instead she tossed the silverware onto the table and stated "so no-one came. are you ready to order your drinks and food?". we then ordered our waters, appetizers, and meals. i ordered the american burger. the food came out pretty quickly, but when it came out i noticed a spot of mold on the top of the bun. when the server finally came back around 5 minutes later, she looked and took it back to the kitchen and said she would fix it. i cant be positive, but i believe that all they did was take the top bun off and put a new one on and gave me the same bottom bun. i gave them the benefit of the doubt and took a bite of the burger and the bread was tough and my burger was charred, crunchy, and cold. the burger i requested to be cooked medium well was tough to bite into. our server never refilled our water and only came back once after the burger was dropped off then rushed over with the check. she came back 2 minutes later to pick up the check and bring it back as if she simply wanted payment even though the nights experience was awful. i took a picture of the receipt if there is a way you would like it sent. this was a horrible waste of money and i will never recommend a place like this to anyone. ive heard so many great things about river falls, but this did not live up to the hype at all. we had visited around a week ago and our server and food was amazing as people say, but if a restaurant cant have steady service and quality i cant waste my time and money for the mcdonalds quality food that i paid far too kuch for. i wasn't even offered any sort of discount for my crunchy, moldy, tough, charred burger and a manager never came out to check on us or apologize. we couldn't even ask for a manager because our server rarely came. i have previous restaurant job experience and would have never been allowed to treat guests this poorly which is why im infuriated by this experience and hope i can get some sort of acknowledgement or compensation for this horrible experience and that the employees get spoken to about service. thank you read more

The atmosphere is great. Wood, warm lighting and nice comfy chairs. The food was good, not exceptional, but good. The service was horrible. There were three of us. It took 10 minutes for a third menu to reach the table. Bottled beer was warm. Salad then dinner was served in a reasonable period of time. Potato and vegetable were excellent. It took forever to come back to the table to clear and then only have the table was cleared. Only one person was asked if they wanted coffee or dessert then the server left. It's took forever for the check to be delivered and it was wrong. There were two extra drinks on the bill. I'm a 20 to 25% tipper 99% of the time but I just couldn't do it. She got 16%. The hard part - the server was lovely just no sense of urgency. read more
