After looking at hotels.com I found this cute little Hotel and decided it was the perfect location for our first trip to grants pass. It was in close proximity to dining and parks around the area. Every room is on the river and it was really nice to look at. The included breakfast was fine, nothing too great but it did the job. They sell beer and wine in the lobby and the prices seemed decent although I didn't purchase any. The few people I encountered in the lobby were very friendly. The room was great, comfortable beds and pillows. I believe it is also a dog friendly location so we will definitely bring our dog next time! The best tip I can give for you to enjoy a stay here is to only book a room on the top (third) floor. We had a second floor room for several days. The hotel is nice and clean although a bit worn around the edges. The view is amazing, located right on the banks of the river. It's a short walk to the downtown historic district as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they have a great continental breakfast with homemade waffles, fruit, eggs, oatmeal, bagels, etc. Housekeeping does a great job. It could take a step up by offering simple touches like complimentary bottled water or towels that aren't like the ones you had in junior high gym class. But the main problem is that the floors are creaky and not soundproofed so anyone walking in the room above you sounds like Sasquatch on the rampage. Not fun to be awakened at 5am by someone pacing the floor above you for the next two hours. Or having a group of drunken bikers partying above you when you are trying to sleep. To their credit, the staff moved us to a different room with no fuss. But getting out of bed, getting dressed and packing up to move should not be something I have to deal with as a guest. All that said, it's still one of the best hotel options in Grants Pass. Just book the top floor! read more

The rooms are standard nice rooms. Everything was clean and cared for. The chrome in the bathrooms glistened But, the big things here are the view and the people Every room has a view of the river. Since I need ADA compliant rooms, I was on the first floor I could heAr the ducks quacking and splashing from the balcony And the people are phenomenal! When you can tell someone is smiling while they're wearing a mask for Covid, they are REALLY happy to help. I was asked at least three times if I needed help with my luggage The breakfast has been done as tray service you take back to your room. Every room has a balcony/patio and a view of Rogue River which is so peaceful. The rooms are a bit older, but overall well kept. Staff are incredibly friendly. Stayed for a night in August during COVID-19 and the rooms and property seemed clean and well maintained. Every time we left our room we ran into someone cleaning. This place is amazing! We were looking for a stopping point halfway on our way to WA and decided on Grants Pass. I loved that every room had a balcony. The rooms look exactly like what is shown on the website. Very clean and modern! The staff is amazing! So nice and very accommodating. The beds are good size and comfy and cozy! I was accompanying a friend to Grants Pass on this trip and shed stayed here before. It was quite nice. The rooms are well appointed and maintained. AWESOME views of the river! We availed ourselves of the breakfast and is was well stocked and the food was nice for breakfast fair. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We appreciated that there were many options for food and shopping within walking distance, and most everything else was a 5-10 minute drive away. We did have one odd situation where we found someone had smoked a cigarette on our balcony over night one evening -- we don't smoke and there was a pile of ashes with a cigarette laying there. We reported this a few times and staff didn't seem to take note. We're not sure we'd stay on ground floor next time. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE FOR YOUR SAFETY!!! I am not even giving it one star but have to mark something to post. We have a voucher from FEMA. This place is atrocious. Any good reviews are likely from personal employees. First it is so gross and dirty. We literally scrubbed it clean as best we could. Not sure what the filmy substance is on the carpet but it is disgusting. We rented a steam cleaner and by the 4th time running through we gave up. The water was still dirty. A man standing outside waving a gun in another persons face screaming. It looks like a crack motel. Myself and three others reported it to the police. My son went into the office to tell them a man was outside waving a gun around and they needed to call the cops. I decided to check out the next day. Upon doing so we were notified we were being put out anyways. Did not matter as we were checking out. However, the other two rooms that also complained about the situation were also asked to leave as we had an issue having "cops" at their location. It is filthy, inside and out. Obviously, they allow anyone to stay. Having fema after hurricanes we have been limited. Now that the weather is somewhat cooler we would rather be in tents on our property than this motel. read more

There's an amazing park just a simple walk across the bridge and to the left. The staff there is absolutely friendly and caring about their guest. Continental breakfast is fantastic too! Gross. Lady at the front desk was not wearing a mask and had to be asked to put one on. She then proceeded to say she legally wasn't required to due to her "condition", but said she would for me. No breathing problems.. i have asthma and was double masked. She then put on the most ineffective looking mask i have seen anyone wear. Had it not been for having made an unrefundable booking we would have gone elsewhere. I just hope we don't get sick from staying here. This Hotel bent over backwards for us.... we were coming every two weeks to Oregon for my dads chemo. They are always So nice and inviting . Cool meal kits you can order the night before ( for your breakfast ) They are pet friendly and this is a great hotel on the river for your pets ! I would stay again and again. This was a very nice place to stay on our Oregon road trip. Our room had a great view of the river, with many wild birds and a young buck sleeping on the riverbank, seemingly oblivious to the humans nearby. This was a great stay, a little spendy - only because there's a $28 charge for the dog - but it came with a high value dog goodie bag - and I know that not all dogs are well-mannered guests. The last minute reservation (with a real human being at the desk) and the check in (same human: thanks, Shy) The room was comfy and had everything I'd want - mini-fridge, full size iron & ironing board (thank you). Bed was comfortable and the room had tons of space. There was a full, hot breakfast which we didn't have time to partake in but it looked good. Spent two nights here on a road trip through Oregon. As the first official city in Oregon that I've visited, the Riverside Inn by the Rogue River in Grants Pass was a great place to stay. Having the sound of the river at night is a beautiful white noise, and the location is close to some great parks and restaurants. Free breakfast is always a good thing, and the offerings were satisfying. Will definitely be returning sometime in future travels. PS The kitty in the lobby is super friendly. read more

We stayed 4 nights on our recent trip to Grants Pass, and this hotel was just fine! The room is spacious, we were on the 2nd floor and had a perfect view of the Rogue River and the little bridge too. Everything looked decently clean, little fridge included but no microwave. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows, which is important. The balcony was nice to sit out on and enjoy the view (even though for us it was pretty cold to sit out there in April as it rained all week long, but we still managed to sit out there one sunny afternoon). The breakfast was plentiful, there were bagels, other breads and pastries, yogurt, fruit (apples, oranges and bananas) cold and hot cereal, coffee, juices, milk. The hot part of the breakfast was make your own waffles and either bacon or sausage (depending on the day) and biscuits and gravy as well as scrambled eggs (although this did not taste like real eggs, maybe it was some kind of powdered eggs or maybe egg-beaters?) I would have preferred real hard boiled eggs as an option. They also have popcorn in the evenings, which was okay. Overall this was a good place to stay, very very close to everything downtown. I found this place on Trivago and it looked decent so made reservations. First impression was the age of the building. Looks like it could use a little sprucing up but it's not bad and not neglected by any means, just a little dated. The room was nice but again, a little dated. It was very clean but had that subtle aroma of an old building. The TV was in a wood cabinet like the old tube TVs used to be and the cabinet was old. Bathroom had new flooring and looked nice. Great view of the river behind and again, very clean. Complimentary breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs and sausage, waffles, fruit, etc. A little far off the freeway for travelers but getting there takes you through historic downtown which is actually nice. Dearest Riverside Inn, You'll forever hold a special place in my heart. Now, if only I could copy and paste a version of you in other small towns like Grant's Pass all around America. Why the love? Well, not to put a number on the affection I feel for you but.... you're cheap...like $67 including tax cheap. But your not cheap in an eww I want to sleep on top of the comforter kind of way. You make $67 feel like $130 with your riverfront view porches, clean and spacious rooms, complimentary popcorn in the lobby, friendly staff, proximity to downtown (walkable) and complimentary breakfast complete with hard boiled eggs and a waffle making station. The tacky Oregon nature scenes in the breakfast area known as the Eagle's Nest don't hurt either. Reader, take my word for it as I did the reviews before me and book your stay with Riverside Inn when passing through Grant's Pass. One more note on the porch, the room was on the stuffy side which gave us an excuse to leave the porch door cracked through the night (did somebody say bonus trickling water sounds to sooth you to sleep? Update: I have stayed here multiple times since my initial review but I now have a dog in tow and finally booked one of their pet friendly rooms. Not only was the lack of carpet a welcome change that added to the cleanliness of the room, but the front desk gave me a goodie bag for my dog. It contained some poop bags, a collapsible travel water bowl, an extra sheet for my dog to lay on, and some treats. It was an excellent extra touch to make sure my dog was comfortable and happy there. read more

If you are going to be in the Grants Pass area and need a place to stay - this is a nice option. Every room has a river view - some a bit closer to the road so louder. The rooms are clean, despite older carpets. I did not feel grossed out to walk barefoot. The showers are good. Beds are not uncomfortable and you get plenty of pillow options. Flat screen TVs with HBO. There was a fridge, no microwave. When I went to the front desk to ask if there was one I could use - they brought me one to my room in two shakes. Great customer service. The breakfast has more options than your usual offerings. I would recommend a stroll to Dutch Bros for coffee though. read more

This hotel is one of the most pleasant surprises of this vacay. I was a little worried abt staying at a 2 star hotel as I'm kind of a hotel snob. Grants pass Oregon didn't have alot of choices and we ended up here. We've recvd nothing but 5 star surprises. Check in was friendly, informative and easy. The room was clean, well stocked with a beautiful view of the rogue river. The balcony is perfect for just sitting and watching the river roll by. They always had great fresh coffee.. all day long. The complimentary breakfast that runs until 10am had hot food ( eggs bacon etc) rather the customary bagels and muffins. The staff just might be some of the friendliest I've encountered and I've done extensive traveling. The front desk, the maid service and buffet servers . If you're looking for that gem this is the place. I wish there was a microwave in the room but that's a minor inconvenience compared to all the great things. read more

Dog-friendly lodgings that are amazing are few and far between, in our price range, and many are just on this side of "uh-oh!" so we had our fingers crossed when we drove into Grants Pass for our overnight stay. HOLY DOG BISCUIT, WHAT A TREAT!! The room was wonderful - vinyl/hardwoody floor (super clean), spacious main room/bathroom, King size bed, every amenity you would want, (did I mention super clean?) - but the star of the show was the riverside balcony - all rooms look out over the river! WHAT IS THIS WITCHERY?! And about the human element...the guys on the evening shift at the front desk? Jim and Chasen ("not Jason") are simply the best humans we've met in awhile! Welcoming, fun, personable, liked our big Golden Ret. a lot. LOVE THEM! AND there is a beautiful SECRET walking path to Riverside Park that is located just across the bridge and an easy walk to a good dog-friendly Mexican restaurant on the other side of the park. I had an excellent stay at the Riverside Inn....the young lady at the front desk even recommended a beautiful place to take a walk along the river. Rumor has it, this is the nicest hotel in town. It has a view of the river and a breakfast microwaved by the staff and dumped into buffet trays. It's a small bump up from Motel 6 but a far cry from Hampton Inn. The walls are so thin and the beds so squeaky after 3 days we know our upstairs neighbor isn't increasing his stamina. Thank goodness the squeak is for under 5 minutes. There is a nice mini fridge but no microwave so no dinner in room. The view of the river comes with geese that make noise until 4 am. Not sure what I think of popcorn in lobby until 9:30. New job put Alley pup up at this hotel. Their service animal policy is a bit excessive. At no time can the pup ever be left in the room. Now she doesn't go to work with me so she had to go to DAY CARE!! If the hotel takes a deposit and holds my credit card for damages I think their policy is a bit uptight since I am here for work. Now I have to rush Alley to doggy day care, which she dislikes because she doesn't play with other dogs, and I have an additional cost for mandatory work trainings. So if you enjoy listening to your neighbors, pup day care or leaving your dog in the car, squeaking beds, cold meals, microwaved continental breakfast, or squawking geese this IS the hotel for you. If you need day care Canine club is very helpful with service animals. read more

It is so beautiful and relaxing sitting on the balcony watching the flow of the river and listening to nature. The bed was very comfy and service was fantastic. Very attentive to the guests. Beautiful place! So impressed when we drove in to see the beautiful grounds. The staff is wonderful... friendly and helpful, and that includes the kitchen staff and housekeeping, as well as the reception desk. The room was simple and rustic, with a pretty rock fireplace, that I insisted I was going to use even though it was 93 degrees outside when we drove in!! By our second night it had cooled considerably, so I could enjoy it. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the balcony watching the river with all the geese and ducks. We made an unplanned stop in Grant's Pass for the night en route back from California to our home in SW Washington. This place was LOVELY. Every person we encountered from the housekeepers to the front desk, the staff all welcomed us and were eager to offer suggestions or point out ammenities. We have been on this roadtrip for 8 nights, have stayed at as many hotels (and walked away from 2 others due to bad rooms or conditions) and this was by far the nicest and cleanest, and had the best breakfast. If you are debating on staying here, stop debating and book the room. The balcony with the Rogue River below was lovely and the perfect way for us to end our trip. read more

I'm a very seasoned worldwide traveler and have a disdain for hotels in general. Wasn't expecting much for this one since it was a last minute stopover choice. Wow. Wish we were staying longer. Room is very spacious, well appointed, clean and the ones on the river, like the one we had, have great balconies where you can sit and watch the river flow by, with the occasional jet boats and inner tubers.
