Salesman was Samuel White Purchased a 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L on 11/23/19 Picked up on 11/25/19 This company sold me a LEMON. Within having it the first couple of weeks, I had to pay over $1000 in auto parts and labor to have the brakes and front end fixed. Brakes, rotors, lower control arms, etc. The mechanic said it would have been dangerous to drive. The salesman told me that they would have the brakes checked and fixed. I left the van there for two days believing it was being repaired. They did nothing. He told me HE "drove it around to stomp on the brakes really hard and HE found nothing wrong. All was good." Now there is a pre existing oil leak that needs to be fixed. The gaskets have to be replaced. The salesman lied to me with a smile on his face. He also tried to give me a price that was higher than advertised. If I had not had the screen shot of the internet price he would have tried to cheat me $1500. Neither the management nor the salesman responded to my numerous emails. I will never have anything else to do with any Rivertown nor will any of my family or friends. My story of warning will be told to anyone and everyone that I come into contact with. They knew the van was going to be used to transport disabled children. Shame on the salesman, management and the company for it's dishonest dealings. Update 01/14/20 The "new tires" he said were on the van need to be replaced. The salesman apparently knew which tire to show when he said "and look, it has new tires" and kept going with the conversation, which distracted me to keep me from noticing the dry rot on them. I'm also having to have the gaskets repaired to stop the oil leak. There isn't a definite price on that yet. My mechanic said that, in his opinion, the company sold me this van knowing that it was a lemon and that is why they lowered the price. I'm on disability (fixed income) and have put myself in debt to fix it. 12/09/2019 $832.16 Parts and $300 Labor to fix brakes and front end. 01/12/2020 $151.19 An old battery replaced. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE HERE!!!! Me and my husband bought a truck back in April from Rivertown Ford. We were super stoked when we bought the truck. We were told the truck passed all Ford inspections and had a clean carfax report and we were shown that. We shared our Sparq picture to win a free car payment (which benefits their business). Shortly 2 weeks later we started having issues. The truck was making a grinding noise and sometimes would make it in park. We had friends listen and they could easily hear the sound. We took the truck in because at this point it was still under factory warranty. To this date, we took the truck in FIVE times.. they have record of 2 because that's the only time they actually worked on it. The other three they couldn't "identify the problem." Also, when we made the first appointment on a Wednesday. We called to check on it and went by the shop and they hadn't even STARTED to work on the truck. IN FACT, the truck wasn't worked on until MONDAY. My husband is in the military. He can't just call out of work when you keep his truck for longer than you need to. What even makes it worse is half the time they couldn't even diagnose the problem so it sat sitting there at the dealership. When you make an APPOINTMENT, you stick to your appointment. We TRIED to get into another truck and trade in the truck for a different one. We went over some numbers and tried to get a truck VERY similar to ours...only to find out that we would be upside down $8,000!!! So, our payments would be higher of course. Not only that but to "lower" our payments they asked if we had cash to put down. Are you KIDDING me? We just bought a truck in April and you want us to pay MORE money for the SAME truck? So after they told us they couldn't figure out the noise and they didn't know what to do. We called another Ford dealership near us (30 mins away) who actually brought a FORD engineer in and also replaced the turbos in the engine. They are still trying to diagnose the problem. They put my husband in a rental (RIVERTOWN did NOT). That's not the point of this complaint though. My husband called today to talk to the General Manager Lloyd. My husband was super friendly and asked what else could be done at this point. The GM spoke to him sarcastically and argumentatively giving him no solutions because my husband had "run ins" with his people. He said "the time to make deals was when you were bringing your truck here and not another dealership for service." So basically, the GM's feelings were hurt because we went to a different service department (as instructed by FORD corporate) enough where he didn't even want to speak to my husband again. read more

My rig just completed a stint as long-term guest of the Rivertown Ford service department. I am pleased with the work, and learned a lot over the weeks. My vehicle had suffered drive train failure, which destroyed the differential, transmission, and associated parts. As one item would be repaired, the next problem would be revealed. Several times, then, I witnessed the cycle of diagnosis, ordering and waiting for parts, and coordinating availability of the tech specialist and an appropriate lift, and getting back to work on the vehicle. I was impressed with the logistics necessary to keep multiple vehicles under repair, in such a large operation. I stopped in every few days, to check progress and ask questions. I dealt with most of the service advisers, and found them all to be helpful. I noted how quickly they got up to speed on my case, through review of notes on the computer system. I was sometimes surprised at how well the service advisers understood the mechanical issues. My tougher questions were relayed to the mechanics, who were very nice about helping me understand what had gone wrong with my vehicle. With their guidance, examining the failed parts really told a story. I found that the large operation allowed certain flexibility in keeping the work site (my vehicle, on the lift, in pieces) preserved while waiting for parts. At one point, my vehicle took up space on a lift for an entire week, waiting. Smaller shops would have a hard time tying up a lift like that. There would be great temptation to try to patch the vehicle into rolling form, gather the parts, and push it out the door to make way for another vehicle -- a recipe for trouble. I was relieved when this did not happen! The service manager is a good guy to work with. He keeps the entire operation well staffed and running smoothly. He and I met several times for planning and trouble-shooting. He was very professional, always determined to get things done fairly and properly. I'm a guy who can't bear to let another human being even change the oil in my precious. To have a job like this done, and to feel good about it, is a large leap. Thanks, Rivertown Ford! read more

I'm not a complainer but the service department has been a nightmare. I went in 3 weeks ago with my 2011 Ford F-150 acting up. I felt very strongly that it needed a battery. After taking my truck and looking it over I was told I needed a valve and was charged $186.00 for it. I paid thinking they must know what they are talking about since it is the dealership. The next morning my truck was doing the same thing. I called them and was only able to get it back a few days later. Again I told them I thought it was the battery. I took it to them and was then told they did an update. I picked up the truck and noticed that the phone wouldn't charge when the truck is off. Later that evening I drive home and my dim lights turned off on automatic. I went back to the dealership the next day (which was a Tuesday) and again stressed my belief that it was the battery. You would think at this point they would just try a new battery to appease me. Instead I heard nothing until Thursday after calling and calling them. I was finally told that they couldn't do anything and couldn't get it to act up. I asked about the lights and was told they worked now. I picked up the truck this morning and guess what...neither the lights work on automatic nor the charger with the truck turned off. I did however receive a call from the head of the service dept who asked me to bring it on Tuesday and they'd make it right. At this point I'm not going to hold my breath but will take it since I'm out $186 and my truck still isn't fixed. I will never go back once this whole thing is over. read more

took my mustang in for a head gasket replacement. immediately the service team took care of everything including warranty, no questions asked. The service manager Jorge treated this as if it was his own car. from the day I took it in to the day I got my car back he worked very hard to get warranty to cover everything needed. His persistence and frequent phone call updates were beyond any customer service ive known. Even after my head gasket was approved, the technicIan/ technicians dug deeper and found a crack in my cylinder head. Their thorough inspection was extraordinary and definitely saved me another possible trip back to the service bay. I also would like to applaud the timeliness of the repairs. for very labor intensive repairs and negotiating with warranty, all of it took a little over a month. Over all a great experience and the sense of urgency and ownership to my vehicle was unmatched. My car runs better than I've known it to run. And I have peace of mind knowing that everything from headlight to tail pipe was inspected. I highly recommend taking your vehicle here for ANY issues. The professionalism and hospitality as well as attention to detail is beyond that of any mechanic shop. read more

December 1, 2014 I'm visiting Columbus for our grandson's graduation at Fort Benning and Sunday afternoon (11/30), our check engine light appeared. EEEKKKK!!! I called our hometown dealership this morning (Monday) and asked if diagnosis could wait until I returned home, but was advised to check it out immediately. I was VERY leery of using Rivertown Ford after reading some of the low service reviews, but it was my only close alternative, so I gritted my teeth and called for an appointment. (I did use the "off-site" scheduling service. What a professional, excellent, overall experience. I was seen on time, a diagnostic was done and thoroughly explained, work preformed - and I was out of there in 2 hours. They had a perfect opportunity to fleece me, as I am an auto-ignorant female, traveling solo - But they didn't. David, Bass, the Service Advisor, was a delight! I relayed my anticipation for making an appointment with them as I was checking out and they confirmed prior issues and said they're working really hard to correct ALL problems. Not real pleased with the service department. First experience I am letting slide due to poor/lack of communication on both parts. Just so other folks know: when you schedule service for your vehicle, that appointment is your check in time with the advisor and not for the actual service. My second service was for a recall and the parts had been ordered at them time of the first service. I am not going into the full detail of my day but what was suppose to be a 2 hour or little more service took 5 hours and they knew I was waiting. The waiting was not the only issue. Once I got my car and inspected the repairs I found smudges all over the window and door and 2 scratches in the paint and scuff on the door panel. Assistant service manager said they would take care of it. I don't know how they plan to handle the repairs and if I will have to camp out at the dealership. I have emailed the details to the GM of the dealership and as of yet I have received no response. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about the service and staff at Rivertown Ford. I brought my car in for a full service as I had traveled from California, and wanted it serviced before my return trip. The service technician that wrote up the service order, Prenttiss Griffith, was precise when writing up my service requests, asking pertinent questions and making sure he covered everything I requested. While waiting Prenttiss made sure I was comfortable, showing my friend and I to the waiting area, offering coffee and keeping me informed of the progress. The car was finished in a short period of time thus I did not have to leave the car and return later, saving transportation problems. The other folks at the dealership were all friendly and concerned we were comfortable while we waited. I highly recommend Rivertown Ford; ask for Prenttiss....he's great! read more

I have the most awesome experience with River-town Ford. I purchased a 2014 Kia Sorento and did not know if I was going to get it. After going to several dealerships since last October. Who would have thought I would drive two hours from my home to get this beautiful car. The sales lady Ms Vonda Boden has the most beautiful personality and provides the best customer service you will ever experience. No to say the least everyone at the dealership was very pleasant. From the time I stepped out of my car until the time I left. I had my eight year old granddaughter with me and they helped me with her as completed my paperwork. I am completely satisfied with the service department and the repairs that were done on my vehicle. My Service Advisor was Desirae Mathias, and she was awesome. She kept me informed and updated as to the status of my vehicle. I never had to call about my vehicle because she was so thorough and dedicated to ensuring I was taken care of. I feel like I was treated as if I was her only customer. The repairs were done faster than anticipated, and were done correctly. I would have no problem taking my vehicle there again. No one likes to have their vehicle in the repair shop, but when you get treated as good and professionally as I was, it makes an unpleasant circumstance bearable. I had a great experience at Rivertown Ford. I wanted to look into a new economic vehicle that was sporty. I was interested in the 2015 mustang ecoboost premium that was on their lot. I test drove it and the way our salesman told me to get it to its speed on the highway, it had great horsepower for a 4 cylinder. I got there and did a trade in and it all worked out after trying to get it through my lien holder to finance it to where I can afford the mustang through rivertown ford. The staff works well with making sure I'm happy and coming off their lot with the vehicle of my dreams. I took my wife's explorer in for a routine oil service. What I got was far from routine! The new service department is awesome. The automatic doors opened and I was greeted promptly by Charles, a service advisor. He made sure all the paperwork was in order and all the fluids got filled even rotated the tires. What a difference the new store makes. The waiting room has two separate areas each with a TV and the wifi worked great. I was in and out within 45 minutes and everything there is brand new.
