Never subject yourself to Rivertown Ford's mechanic shop. With an appointment it is usually 2 hours for an oil change. I have had recall work completed on my SUV. I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up 8 hours later after being told it was complete. The plastic engine shield fell down on the way home due to not being put back on properly. I took it back to be fixed the following Monday. A few days later I had to call back asking about the gas smell and if they didn't tighten something correctly. I then had to take the car back in and after standing at the counter for 30 minutes, they told me they never completed the recall work. I then had to make another appointment and I had to wait 6 hours in their trailer while they completed the work. The latest work on our truck was to flush out the radiator in our truck. After it cooled down, we checked the fluids and none could be seen. So, back to Rivertown Fraud for them to fix the issues they create. Rivertown Fraud is the worst service dealership we have ever had to deal with and I feel lucky to never have to deal with them again. If you have 2 hours to wait on an oil change that should take 20 minutes, this is the place for you. Anything beyond an oil change will more than likely cause you to have to go back and have it fixed again. They will feed you a bunch of excuses, but in reality, auto mechanics just isn't their forte. read more

I dropped of my SUV to have the sunroof looked at and to have the windshield wiper delay switch replaced. Since we had to wait for the part to come in, I picked up my car and told them I would drop it back off when the part came in. They pulled my car out and when I got in my vehicle everything was reset as if my battery had died. I didn't think anything of it. On my way home I stopped by the store to pick up a few things. When I got back to my car, it wouldn't start...my battery was completely dead! The battery was only 3 months old and it was excellent when I dropped it off to them! Now I have to buy a new battery and hope that is the only issue! I will never bring my vehicle to them again!!!!! My son purchased a vehicle from Rivertown Ford. He was pleased with everything at the beginning. Unfortunately life happens and he lost his job. So he sold the vehicle to keep it from going back to the finance bank. He tried for weeks to get someone at Rivertown Ford to talk to about cancelling the Vehicle Warranty he purchased through them with no luck only answering machines with no return call. After about 3 weeks I did speak with Danny Arecibian who then told us the BEST way to handle the cancellation to keep the bank from getting the funds and having to wait on them to send it to him. Once we got all the information for Mr. Arecibian we emailed it to him. A week later we contact him again because we have not heard back from him or received the refund from the dealership. He then tells us that the process could take 4 to 6 weeks!!! Wow it has been 6 weeks since we first spoke to him about the cancellation and not once did he say the process would take up to 6 weeks. The financing bank would have been much quicker in my opinion if Mr. Arecibian had just gone ahead and cancelled the warranty when we spoke the first time on May 16, 2018. I don't even know where to start. I was having some issues with my car 2 months ago. After keeping my car for a week no one looked at it, told me they'll look at it on Monday. Monday comes no looks at it and now they say they waiting for the insurance company to take a look at my car to make sure it is the engine and transmission. We had to call them most of the time to check on my car. They confirms its the transmission and engine, but they want to fix the transmission, give me my car back and if I have trouble with the engine they wanted me to bring it back. I told them no fix both of the issues because if I had to bring my car back for the engine I would have to pay another $200. They agreed, I finally got a call 2 weeks later saying my car would be ready the coming up Thursday. I get a call on Thursday saying my car will not be ready because they didn't fixed the engine and have to get the insurance company back out there to look at it again. I had to wait a week for the part to come in and another week for them to fix it. They kept my car for 1 month and about 2 weeks. It was very frustrating. I was happy to get it back, BUT now there is a knocking noise when I'm driving. I took it back today and was told it will get looked at today, but I couldn't wait in the waiting room because it was too crowd and the only way I can get it looked is if I dropped it off. 5 hours past by so I called them since they are closing in the next hour, come to find out they haven't even looked at my car at ALL. I was then told someone will call today, I clearly asked was this going to take long and would I get my car back today before I made the appointment and even left my car with them. I was told "It should take about 2-4 hours". So long story short no one never called me back today. No one looked at my car today. If that was the case I could have just brought my car back home. I am very disappointed with this company. I am looking into trading my car in and going to a different dealership because I cannot take this. I dread going to this dealership, the wait is awful. No one greets you or acknowledge you until about 10 minutes later. I'm overall sick of dealing with the company, but they have no problem charging me for every little thing. read more

We took our Ford Explorer to Rivertown Ford to have the locks repaired. It sat on their lot for a month. The only communication regarding this was with the regional office. The local service department would not even return phone calls. They said the part needed was on backorder and we would be notified when the part became available. We picked the car up yesterday and the part is available through many other Ford dealerships at a much cheaper price. The service department is a rip-off. I would suggest you stay away from the service department at Rivertown Ford. read more

I have never had a good service experience at this dealership. They can be just awful sometimes. Once I special ordered wiper blades, because I could not find them in the aftermarket. They told me they would call me when they arrived. They never called, and when I checked back they told me they just got a shipment but sold them all out. They once did an oil change and a patented "14-point inspection". The next day I took a long trip and my battery failed completely leaving me stranded. The 14-point inspection was supposed to include a batter stress test. I then realized that my brake fluid was low, and my tires were inflated to 40 pounds cold (instead of the 30 specs). My AC went out and I brought it in there. The advisor promised it would be ready that afternoon but would not return our calls. I decided to just pick it up. When we arrived the advisor told us the motor was all taken apart and we couldn't have it. The mechanic who was working on it happened to come up front and I asked him what he was doing to my car. He said he didn't get around to looking at it yet. You see where I am going. Presidents award my ass. Stay away from this place. read more

We just moved to Georgia and needed to buy two vehicles, a pickup and an suv. After looking for days, I finally found a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 with the great eco-diesel engine, for what seemed to be a decent price. I went online and scheduled a test drive the following morning at 10:30. It is a two-hour drive each way, so I wanted to make the deal before I went to make sure I could leave with the truck. I had the $5000 cash down payment in hand, and my bank had pre-approved funds for $20,000 more. We were ready to go, we just needed to agree upon the price, and we were willing to accept their advertised price, so no haggling was necessary. NO ONE RETURNED MY CALLS. I called three separate times telling them exactly what I needed to do. "Oh, the sales manager will get right back to you', right--- two days later I get an email telling me to call them to set up the test drive. Really? The best car dealership I have ever been too. I have bought cars at other dealers but have never met one that would take a negative hit on a buy off or trade in to help out a family. They love the military and will bend over backwards to get them the best deal possible. Our buy off a trade in turned out to be 1000 dollars short due to miscommunication, and the GM took it on the chin to keep me and my family from having to pay any more into the deal. Worst experience I've ever had. I had to have a safety recall performed on my car for the door latches. Something about a potential for the door to become detached during operation. So when I got the car back, the power locks didn't work, and the passenger door handle wasn't even connected to opening mechanism. Additionally, the key housing for the driver door was protruding about an inch. So, I came back in, on my day off, to get the stuff that wasn't previously broken, fixed. Well, they had to replace the key trim, which they had to order. So I came back in on another Saturday to pick up the piece, which I was informed, after I arrived, that part needed to be painted and the paint shop was closed. On my fourth weekend trip to the dealership, they took twenty minutes to even ask me why I was standing in the service department. Finally, my car is back to original condition, two weeks later, and four trips into the process. read more

Do NOT take your car to Rivertown Ford. The manager and staff do NOT care about your vehicle. That is why they make it to where you can NOT see if what you brought your vehicle in for was done or not. That is exactly what happened in my situation. I took my car in for multi-purpose service - oil change, rotate tires, top off washer fluid, etc. On the next 5000 mile oil change, I noticed my rims on my brand new car were damaged, the wiper fluid was NOT topped off and no telling what else they didn't do. Probably didn't change my oil. I called and told the sale representative (Kenneth) and he assured me he would take care of it. That of course changed because Kenneth is black and the manage is white. Was my rim taken care of, NO. That manager gave excuses, oh his wife has run over a curve, it's been a year since my last service and no telling what could have happen. Mind you I know my car and they, Rivertown Ford are the only ones who did anything to my car. The damage occurred when they rotated my tires when balancing them on that machine. Terrible Service dept. They give appointments that don't really mean anything. First time I brought my vehicle in for a odd noise coming from the engine it took them 3 days to tell me "they couldn't hear the noise and can't find anything wrong". So the noise continued so a couple weeks later I made an appointment and brought it to them and kept it for several more days for "there's nothing wrong". So when I went to pick it up I asked to speak with the mechanic. The mechanic came out and said oh yea I hear that noise but it's "normal". So I told him to pull a brand new truck over and let me hear it coming from it. The mechanic said " well some trucks make that noise and some of them don't". So I told him then it's not normal, so he said he would have the service dept order the part and they would replace it. So a week or so of not hearing anything from ford I call them and set an appointment up to have this part replaced. So dropped my truck off for a day and I get call that says there's nothing wrong with your truck we can't find the noise. I guess they had already forgotten everything about my problem. Poor service all around. Not sure if they have mechanics or if they just hook vehicles up to computers and if it gives the all good it's good for them. AND Don't bother calling or leaving a message with your service rep, because they will not call back. Not sure if they check there voice mail. And I don't even think the main service dept number is at rivertown location. read more

Run far away from this magical place. Here's why: Wow, so many issues here. Tried to do business with them online. The first warning sign was the $298 tire/wheel security fee on the invoice. I asked them to explain it and received a new invoice. No tire/wheel security fee. Google that term and see what it means. Also asked them to explain the $149 electronic filing fee in addition to the $599 doc fee. I understand the doc fee, in fact the GA average is around $540 according to the article I read, but a $150 electronic filing fee? I don't know. Maybe a sales representative can explain this to me a little better. I know when I asked for an explanation in email correspondence I didn't receive one. Anyway, after Googling what this was I saw it's generally free to $25 to file one. Maybe they use a different computer system than the rest of the world or file it by typing on an electronic typewriter. That would explain it--the cost of labor. Maybe they charge per word. But like I said I don't know and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Then there are the incentives. A thousand dollars on top of the trade-in, a $750 college grad incentive. Somehow these incentives never added up. In fact, after doing the math on the invoice several times, I get really sick to my stomach. But let's not get into this part. Let's move on to the APR. Anyway, after going back and forth a bit I asked for the APR. Simple enough, right? This was early in the morning after filing the necessary credit check info. Tick tock, tick tock. The waiting game. Received a text that the APR was ready late that afternoon, just in time for the banks to close, I just needed to talk on the phone to them in order to get that APR. I asked them to email it to me because I was in a meeting and couldn't speak on the phone. No email. No text. Nothing. Sent them a text that evening to forget about it. They couldn't give me the APR like I had asked for in a reasonable amount of time. I'd also added the invoice up several times and saw the glaring issue with the incentive cuts. I couldn't help but to think there was some laughter at my gullibility, but maybe not. I'm rambling...let me get back to the APR. Got plenty of phone calls and explanations about how busy of a day it was, even though I received the text they had the APR ready by 4:30 pm and still waited around before releasing it to me after I asked them to send it by email. In fact didn't get the numbers until two hours after I texted forget about it to them. I politely declined those numbers I waited so patiently for. You should see the numbers and alternatives. It wasn't too hard to decline. A full day of waiting (ten hours) for I don't know, a ten minute phone call to a bank or two? But it was a busy day, I'm sure it was. Anyway, long story short, I'd maybe look at other ford dealerships if you have to have a ford. But then again maybe my experience was out of the ordinary. This could be a fantastic place. Don't let my experience ruin your chance at having a fantastic car buying experience. But make sure to look really closely at the numbers and question anything that looks a little odd. Also check with a credit union and a bank and see what APRs they offer before going into the dealership. Let the finance guy know that you have alternatives and don't really care to play any games. I'm not saying they'll try to eat you for breakfast, but it's always good to be prepared. Especially in a magical place like this dealership. Oh, and don't forget, once they offer you the first APR, leave the dealership. Let them know they can call you if they really want to sell you the car. Go to another dealership that has the same car and explain the situation like I did. See what APR they may offer. Remember, these cars are like cans of Coke. If one vending machine is broken, crooked, charges too much, whatever, go to the next vending machine. read more

So I was in this dealership 2 weeks ago and got my vehicle diagnosed with leaking exhaust manifold and replacement of Catalytic Converter. When I learned that this was the reason why my vehicle is making a motorcylce sound when accelerating, I did my research and found out that emission issues is under dealership warranty. I can't remember the name of the person I spoke to about the warranty, but He kept telling me that my vehicle's warranty is already expired (in which I am fully aware of). I tried to explain that according to Ford Warranty guide, emissions issues is under their warranty for 8years or 80k miles whichever comes first provided that the GVWR is under 8,500lbs. I checked my vehicle and its 6,160lbs, with 36k mileage. But the person i was talking to seems unknowledgeable about the warranty and reiterated me that i will have to pay $768 to get it fixed. I have to pull out my vehicle with issues unresolved. I was so dissapointed. Now i spoke with a Ford representative and confirmed the warranty. Let's see what can happen. read more

I explained my issue to him, and he walked me to there service department and introduced me to a lady behind one of the desk. Hard to say, ive had mixed experiences with these folks..orriginally bought a preowned vehicle with them back in 05'..mitsubishi montero..vehicle ran great ..BUT, I ended up with a very high apr. and they do free computer diagnostic..had a check engine light come on and they fixed it the default error ..nol problem. my last experience with them- brought in my ford 500..it had run out of gas and it wouldnt start again when I filled the tank half full. called em..they said they do a free diagnostic for the first 30 min..and anything else would be an additional charge for diagnostic. Which seems fair. I have it towed over there and they say they give me a call the next business day to get back to me, they cal me the next afternoon, said they've done the preliminary computer diagnosti and they need two about two more hours and say it will cost 260 dollars. I try to reason with them. I explain that its most likely a fuel pump problem and ask if they can drop the gas tank and inspect, possibly replace the fuel pump if or replace the fuel filter and see if the fuel line is clogged. The guy tells me that they can charge me 680 dollars to replace the fuel pump. But if it doesn't work then I would be back to square one. I tell them I would gladly pay for the labor to drop the tank and look at the fuel pump and fuel line. To me 260 dollars for diagnostic if it's most likely a fuel pump problem seems like a waste of money. I explain- well, if the car had something else obviosly wrong ..like a flat tire...why would they do two more hours of diagnostics if the problem is most like ley a flat tire..start working on the tire and fix that. the service rep was rude and kept interuppting me, I asked him to stop please stop interrupting me while I was trying to explain. He was impatient , rude and not understating...told me I coukld talk to a service manager.He was arguing with me, and then hung up on me. I called another shop. they agreed it sounded rediculous. They told me they would diagnose the vehicle and they did chgarge for diagnosing the problem , But that the diagnostic cost would included in the cost of repairs if they could fix it. So now I have to pay 65 dollars to tow it to another mechanic to get it fixed. Seemed to me they were trying to milk me for more money. i understand that you cant fix the vehicle without the right estimate for repairs and diagnosing the problem.. That way I'm not wasting money.. I get that , I really do. But 260.00 dollars to diagnosis a fuel pump seemed ridiculous. And I expressed I was willing to pay for the labor to drop the tank and asses the fuel pump for repair. Which is what i really needed . Its a pain in the but to drop the gas tank and do it myself. especially when I cant move the vehicle. I may use them again in the future, but I was extremely disappointed in the way it was handled . i was also told when i called back that a service manager would call me. and I never heard from them them. read more

My experience at Rivertown was awful from the very beginning and I would NEVER recommend this place to my worst enemy. On the initial test drive it seemed to work fine, except that the steering pump seemed to be going out. They promised to have that fixed. Once I got the car back 2 days later, it was making noises that it had never made during the initial test drives. Also the dvd players in the car did not work and my shady salesman Nick was supposed to do a walk through on the car with me that never happened. They took the car back and kept it for over a week. Finally, after getting it back again, the car sounded awful!!. After fighting with the Service Manager as well as the salesman, they admitted to originally changing out the wrong part, at which point they broke the stud, which was the cause of the noise they originally denied hearing. Bottom line, their customer service there sucks!!! All they care about is selling that car and after that, they could care less whether or not you have a family to carry around in that car or not. Needless to say they are refusing to fix the dvd players in the car. NEVER NEVER use Rivertown Ford!!!! Update: 30 minutes after posting this review, the shady sales man started harassing me on my personal cell phone after asking him not to txt me again. The service manager personally refused to fix a safety recall for the door latches on my car when I got a letter for an advanced notice and then again when the recall was active deeming it unnecessary for my vehicle. The latches failed, as the recall said they could, and my wife almost flew out the door as we were going down the road. When I asked the service manager, Al Miller, why he would knowingly put my family in danger, he never apologized, but instead became fixated on blaming the ford company, which he repeatedly told me that he, and rivertown ford, was in no way affiliated with. He also reminded me multiple times that my complaint came the first thing on a Monday morning (doors failed Sunday) as if I was inconveniencing him. In efforts to get to work I tried to refocus him to actually fix the problem at hand only to be told that I needed to set aside the emotion of seeing my wife almost go out the door into traffic, and that if I was not happy with the service I could go to another dealer. they did fix my car the next day, as the parts were in stock. I was told they have had the parts in stock since the recall went active, but that he did not have time to call everyone that needed them. I again questioned that if the parts were in when I personally spoke with him after the recall was active, why my car wasn't fixed, to which he replied he has so many people come in it's hard to remember conversation. I will say I had a great experience with buying this car, but have consistently gotten bad service from the service department, with multiple excuses from the service manager. I was asked on the receipt for my service to review and comment on my experience with a link to yelp. I don't often do that, but as my family's life was put in danger I thought I needed to. To be completely honest, I did go back and edit this review. On the original review, Al responded to "clear the air" however his response was not entirely accurate or honest, and sought to, once again, avoid responsibility. Worst experience at a car dealership ever. First off the new truck I wanted to test drive was dead, and completely empty on gas. The salesman trying to help me had to pour a five gallon gas can in the truck. Then the test drive included getting gas, ended up waiting about 20 minutes for someone from the dealership to come with jumper cables to get the truck started again. So after all that we get back to the dealership and we start talking numbers. My credit was ran and they handed me a BS write up that didn't include any of the rebates or the military appreciation discounts. So much for "doing more for the military". She told her office manager she would bird dog me, which suppose to come straight from home office. Guess who's looking like a bird dog? ME!!! Then I still had to come out of $300.00 more for a tag that was suppose to be fulled covered in the overall tag. We stayed in contact for a while after the purchase until she just started to sound like a broken cd. I never was reimbursed for the rim, paid out of pocket money on a tag that was promised to be fully taken care of, it had damages in places that was easy to cover so i'll need a paint job in about 2-3 years, two tires had to be replaced since the purchase due to the fact that one of them was on the damaged wheel. I can't lie, I will be more careful when buying my next car, but I will not return for anymore royal treatment. I'd rather take my chances dealing with someone who can handle business with class and honesty because she is most certainly not that. While they seemed friendly enough, to say the service they provided me was subpar would be an understatement. I went there to have my 100,000 mile maintenance done and asked for them to clean the engine and replace the hoses, among other things. When I popped the hood to see if they did it, it did not look any different than when I dropped it off. Additionally, my ABS light was on. The car wasn't running any differently and I just had my brakes replaced 7,000 miles prior, so I knew it wasn't the brakes. Just for them to hook up the computer to diagnose it--not fix anything--was 75 dollars. What they found was that it had something to do with my CV axle and said it would be 875 dollars, plus the man hours to fix it. I went for a second opinion to Epperly Tires down the road, and they said that it was one seal that needed to be replaced. There, when all was said and done, I only paid 160 dollars and everything is working greatly. Don't go to Rivertown Ford. read more
