The eggs and bacon were also just alright. There are a lot of other options on the menu that are worth trying like the cinnamon roll and feta avocado scramble which is "Scrambled egg whites with spinach and tomatoes topped with feta cheese and avocado. Served with home-fried potatoes and toast. " Both choices have been scrumptious and I've been wanting to come back for more cinnamon rolls. They're made fresh everyday and if you don't get there early enough, they run out. I haven't been disappointed in the quality of the food or service although this place can get busy on the weekends. We always have to wait for a table whenever we go. There are still a few things I have been wanting to try but have been reluctant and that's because most of the dishes are big and generous, not that I'm complaining. I'm just worried I might not do much for the rest of the day if I fill up on breakfast. Overall, yes, I'm sure I'll be back. It's a decent choice for breakfast especially if you have a big group. Arriving for a late morning breakfast, the wait was about 15-20 minutes. Feel free to walk around the courtyard-like area, or sit out on the nearby steps and people watch. 2. The patio seating is quite impersonal -- it is in the exact spot where people wait in line for their turn to be seated. But it is is quite lovely, and it is very common to find people dining with their dog friends. 3. The menu is not overwhelming -- thank goodness. Nothing like having to read through an encyclopedia while trying to choose what you want. RJs runs regular specials, which are posted near the back door. 4. The eggs Benedict is amazing! The Hollandaise was perfectly produced. Highly recommended. 5. Serving sizes are standard, not obscenely large. You will be able to enjoy dinner late. Prices are moderate. Absolutely love this place! I have been here three times since I discovered it about 2 months ago. I have brought multiple family members here and they all have loved it. Staff is very friendly and they usually sit you at a table within 15 minutes. Their fresh Cinnabons are delicious!! One is more than enough to share between 4 people, as they are huge. I enjoy their lox bagel as the salmon is very fresh and isn't super salty. Their stuffed French toast is also delicious, I recommend the banana and creme brûlée one. There is a good amount of parking and the restaurant is located across the street from the beach, which is definitely a plus. read more

A great breakfast place. The patio seating is nice, as is the indoor seating. The staff was attentive, so much so that my waitress noticed the kitchen had made a mistake on my order as she was about to set my plate down, but saw it and instead ran it back to get it fixed super quick. Had breakfast with the family. 3 out of 5 ordered the eggs bene and thought it was pretty average. Some of the poached eggs were overcooked. The breakfast potatoes were also plain, average. My other son ordered a ham and cheese sandwich. I decided to order the French Toast with the bananas since it seemed to be popular... and I usually like dessert for breakfast! However, I should have passed on the French Toast because it was DRENCHED in the sauce. I asked for an extra plate to transfer my toast, leaving behind the half cup of sauce on the original plate. I also scraped off the white stuff, cream cheese? The toast itself was dry and didn't soak up any of the egg batter. Oh well. The place is cute and is in a really nice location. I ordered the feta avocado scramble and it was delicious that I completely forgot to take a pic because I indulged in every bite so quickly. My bf's Aunt Rose ordered the corned beef hash and eggs and my bf ordered the omelet with corned beef hash and the plates were plentiful. I noticed a few dogs outside where their owners kept them well controlled. One server was walking around with her mask pulled down. Other customers had no mask or mask only half on. This made me uncomfortable We were seated promptly. Table service was excellent. Ordered carnitas & eggs. The carnitas had only been stewed, (they didn't finish it for texture) and lacked seasoning. Super adorable and yummy place to grab brunch! My friends and I grabbed brunch here on a Saturday and the wait wasn't too bad. It was a 40 minute wait, which we were able to spend around the harbor. Parking wasn't too bad even though the cafe was busy. We were able to dine in and sit down in their patio area. The service was great and quick. We got some orange juice which ran down super smooth! I myself got the pesto sandwich with the sweet potato fries. In my opinion, I would choose the sweet potato fries over the regular cut, but that's just me. This spot is dog friendly! Food sucks, service sucks, and the place is extremely unsanitary. Came with a friend last week for brunch and I can't believe what we witnessed. One waitress had come on her day off with her baby and was just hanging out and socializing with the people who were actually working. The kid is literally standing on the counter in the dirty socks that have been walking all over the dirty floor and then let's the baby stand on the counter where the food is coming out of the kitchen, wtf??? I spent 15 mins waiting for someone to come take my card and bill so I can pay and get the hell out of this dump but the staff was all distracted because they were all playing with the baby. The mom on her day off was not letting the staff do their job, kept bringing the baby up to them and talking with them for 15 mins until I finally caught the eye of my waitress and waved her over to take my check. First of all how bored do you have to be to come into work on your day off and bring your child to socialize with the staff? It's not a day care or a play place, it's a restaurant. Stop distracting the staff and stop letting the baby walk on the dirty floor then walk on the countertop where food is being served! Literally 4 staff members were entertaining the child instead of doing their job and the customers are the ones who have to wait around for them. The health department would have a field day here, in fact, I'm going to make a complaint to them about what I witnessed here. I am beyond disgusted. This place is delicious! I absolutely love their chocolate chip pancakes, so yummy. The huevos rancheros wasn't my favorite ever, but still good. Their potatoes are absolutely delicious, you have to make sure you get them as your side! Their menu is very extensive, really has something for everyone. In Dana Point Harbor early on a weekday, I remembered I hadn't been to RJ's for awhile. I was alone and picked the best table. My Server, Tammy, is the best. I needed to look at their menu for a long time. She brought me my Earl Grey tea and I relaxed. She let me know, whenever I am ready, she'd take my order. I ordered the mango French toast filled with cream cheese. The mango was fresh. It takes me too long and I get too messy when I cut fresh mango at home. I cook often. This was the most delicious fresh mango and with the cream cheese inside the fresh French bread toast, yum! Tammy answered all my questions on the menu and was the best server. After my meal I walked along the harbor and enjoyed my morning. I'm meeting a friend Saturday that lives near RJ's for a morning cocktail like a bloody mary or champagne with our meals. read more
