Strong WiFi. Parking is sparse but people move in and out quickly on a Saturday morning, so you're able to get lucky! Tried this place post Pilates because of the reviews and the coffee is great. I also loved that it's large from inside with plenty of seating so I can see myself coming back and working from here. Solid coffee shop in the heights that I can't wait to visit again.

Loved the vibe of this cafe, big fan of the dim, warm lighting. I ordered a banana mocha which had a strong banana flavor. Super yummy! Cane with a small sweet cookie on the side. Service was good and there was someone to clean up when we finished our drinks. Music was very interesting, they played eccentric beats but it was good to study to. Only complaint was that it was really crowded when I went and a lack of outlets for table seating. Also parking was very difficult to find!

I appreciate this sign so much! Folks need to understand the difference between an emotional and support animal! Thank ya!

I ordered the small vanilla cappuccino. The price was almost or about $5 or so, I was expecting less but a did read a news article about the price of coffee increasing. I was looking to try something different and would pass this place frequently. Decided to stop and order. Cashier was not really helpful as I was new, I guess I could have asked for a suggestion. The Heights is home to a number of cafes, but few offer the kind of space that Roast & Brew has to offer. While the coffee is was what I came for, the abundance of chairs and solid access to WiFi and outlets is what got me to stay. Plus the notion of a European style cafe *and* coffeehouse was the appeal. On an average day, it's a hub for young professionals and remote workers rocking some kind of beverage and/or snack. The natural lighting is a nice touch, but I also appreciate the use of shades when it's too bright. There are many outlets along the u-shaped cushioned seats near the front windows. It's really just a matter of a snagging a spot since it's so popular here. House music tends to be the choice here, which might be a slight deterrent for taking calls. Just the sheer amount of people (#1) don't make it completely ideal for a coffee meeting / date, but lounging is also encouraged. The hibiscus tea ($4.70) and my nitro cold brew ($5.25) were both refreshing in their own way. The latter had a nice aftertaste and felt strong enough to sip versus guzzle. They also offer champagne, premium wines, and a good amount of craft beers, both locally and internationally. There is an all day breakfast available, which includes a customized omelette ($9.49), breakfast sandwiches ($9.95), and a breakfast plate that includes hash brown patties, sourdough bread and eggs. The rest of the menu has a Middle Eastern flair to it, which includes kebabs ($17), gyros ($15.45), along with falafel salads and sandwiches. I thought their cheeseburger ($13.75) looked so tasty and I would definitely consider trying their pasta options ($14-15). Service was the highlight for me, since they were engaging, friendly, and were generous with the samples. Only issue was that they weren't the quickest with bussing tables, which forces a lot of patrons to wipe down the spots themselves. When they did buss the tables, I noticed no microfiber or any cleaning solution. Lastly, parking is substantial with a dedicated lot, but for a full house, most of the parking will be across the street. Be careful when crossing the road. __________ (#1) And people watching.

Found this coffee shop through google and it's so cute this is my second day in a row being here. I wanted a coffee shop with work space, WiFi, accessible plugs, no loud music and actual food options and this has EVERYTHING! The omelette I had yesterday was so good I went to buy all the ingredients to make my own at home, but you know how sometimes you do it yourself and it's not as good? I didn't want to risk it. So. I'm back The young ladies making the coffee are sweet and helpful. Coffee you get at the counter. Food they bring to you. There is a breakfast and lunch menu with FOOD FOOD on it. Not just pastries. They have beer and wine options as well. I love it here!

My siblings and I are very picky about everything but they liked it a lot! The caramel macchiato was the perfect blend of strong and sweet, I'm usually scared of one overpowering the other but there was a perfect balance! The Gyro was simple and not overwhelming at all, perfect as a light lunch. We enjoyed our visit.

This coffee shop was lovely for studying! The ambiance was great, with a majority of the customers working, having a coffee meeting, or studying, so it felt like a very productive atmosphere. A nice spot if you need a meal + need to get some work done. Lots of outlets along the edges of the restaurant. The coffee (flat white) was excellent as well and came with a shortbread cookie! Got fries as a little snack, and would probably pass on them next time. Just a bit limp and didn't have the iconic crisp fry texture to them.

Roast & Brew is such a cute neighborhood gem in the Heights. I stopped in while waiting for my tires to get fixed down the street and was pleasantly surprised by the vibe. Plenty of people were hanging out, working, and enjoying a laid-back morning. I ordered an iced flat white and the traditional breakfast. The eggs over medium were perfect. My only gripe? The hash browns. They were chopped up like home fries, and honestly, can we as a society just agree to follow Waffle House's lead and standardize shredded hash browns as the gold standard? Let's unify, people. That said, everything tasted great. And bonus points to the team at the counter who were kind enough to loan me a phone charger after mine died mid-bike ride. You can bike here from Midtown almost entirely on trails, with just a few small detours due to construction. Super convenient. Also worth noting: they had some unique food in the chilled case like feta pie and rice pudding. Definitely not your average café snack situation. I'm looking forward to coming back and exploring more of their menu. Great spot for locals, cyclists, or anyone looking for good coffee, good vibes, and a solid breakfast.

I tried this place for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. The interior is beautiful and quaint, with a bold decor style that was absolutely my vibe. There were plenty of seating options, both booths and tables. Ordering was easy and the service was great. I love how the pastry display was clearly visible and how fast our drink orders were made. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and was blown away. The croissant was flaky and buttery and the fillings of sausage and egg, among others, were complementary. The caramel macchiato with almond mild was also just the right amount of sweetness. I am so glad to add this wonderful breakfast spot to my go-to list!

This spot is such a lovely spot, we went on a Sunday and it was basically packed, very small parking lot. The restaurant was quite loud & loads of people for breakfast / day drinking / just work and vibes, overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I got the Breakfast Croissant with Bacon (4.5/5) & it was delicious, portion was great. My boyfriend got the Avocado Toast & said it was delicious too. My boyfriend complimented how the potato (included with my breakfast croissant) was cooked very nicely too. You self served knife, spoon, napkin, sauces, minor things like that. The servers will come around to refill your water whenever they can :)

Met up with some friends to study here on a weekend. This place is Greek owned. They have a bunch of small tables along the walls with some decent sized ones in the middle. I decided to get the Greek frappe. Maybe I should've chosen a safer pick because I did not enjoy this drink at all. The coffee was very bitter and the foam was very thick and did not mix with it at all. Individually they both were not that good to me. Maybe this is not my taste but I did not have fun trying to finish this. Parking is also very small and you have to park across the street if the lot fills up. The only thing good about this place is that they're open until midnight

I have been a regular since Roast & Brew opened. It's great to have a casual and hip coffee shop with plenty of indoor and outdoor space, that offers great coffee, food, alcohol and opens late. I'm a fan of the Greek frappe for a hot day, or a plain latte or flat white for some warmth. With plenty of pastries, breakfast and lunch options, you can really spend hours here and no need to relocate to somewhere else. It does get pretty busy, and people tend to post there for a while so tables could be limited.

Lots of space inside with couches and tables and there's a small outdoor patio! I've been here during a slow day and a busy day and there's always been enough space. They have a good sized menu! I've been twice and I've only gotten coffee and breakfast/pastries here. I always get an iced vanilla latte. Not the best I've ever had but always hits the spot! You order at the counter and they give you a number and will bring your food to you. Always had nice interactions with the employees. They give you a good amount of food. Ordered a breakfast bagel that had a side of Potatoes which were delish and I liked that it came with a salad too. They are also Greek influenced and have stuff like baklava!! Which was tasty. Really the only downside to this place is the parking! There's a small lot attached but if that's full then you gotta park on the street somewhere. read more

My friends and I had one of the most uncomfortable experiences we've ever had at a coffee shop. The three of us came in to study and catch up, we each ordered matcha lattes and breakfast plates, which is more than reasonable for a casual café visit. We settled in, chatted quietly, and worked on our laptops. About 30 minutes in, an employee approached us and implied we needed to order more food or we'd have to leave. Three people. Three meals. Three drinks. That's a decent bill and more than what most tables had in front of them. There were no signs about a minimum order or time limit. We weren't loud, we weren't taking up a huge space, and the café wasn't even full. We felt targeted and embarrassed, like we were being treated as a burden rather than paying customers. Instead of creating a welcoming, community vibe which coffee shops should be known for the staff AND THE OWNER made it clear that their priority was squeezing more money out of us rather than treating us with respect. We ended up cutting our visit short and leaving. None of us will be returning, and we'll be letting others know what kind of treatment they can expect here. read more

I was here studying. I hadn't order yet because I had a big meal. I had planned to order a drink later after studying. The lady approached another white male and asked him if he needed anything. I heard him say no, not yet. That caught my attention. Then she proceeded to me and said "Hi, you have to order something if you want to keep this table." I did not hear here tell the white male anything of that nature. I always order and it is not that good. Last time the hot chocolate did a number on me. I ordered chicken they gave me beef instead, then the chicken was dry. Being cordial to one and racists to the other is not good. I don't think that I will be back. It's not the policy its the way that it was handled. That's unacceptable. read more

A nice environment for working on your laptop. It was plenty of space. I went there in the afternoon and it was a big crowd but plenty tables. There is an outside area with tables that is covered. The pastries look amazing but I only had hot tea which I enjoyed. Definitely a good spot to add to the coffee house list read more

Really cute spot, offers a great selection of coffees and syrup flavors as well as alcoholic beverages. I enjoyed the gingerbread latte. Lots of seating, there's an outdoor space too. The service here is pretty good they've always been nice to me & it's quick! Great place to study/work just bring headphones sometimes it gets packed & it gets a little loud. The only true issue I have is how small the parking is I never find parking in their parking lot and have to park down the road and deal with the potholes but that's just Houston to be honest. I haven't tried the food yet so can't really speak for that but the menu does look tasty might come back and try something. read more

Great coffee great drinks and great food the gyro plate is great very fresh . The ambiance is loud at times but if you got headphones you're good very chill . The service is quick normally not a long wait . If you do want to try this place out just know it does get full seating may not always be available. Highly recommended to try out get some food too. read more

Came here to do work and loved my time here. Ordered a chai tea latte with oat milk which was absolutely delicious. It came with a small tea cookie as well which was a nice treat. The whole was pretty busy while there, but I was able to find a great spot to do work and was pretty productive. Only downside was there were limited outlets close to where I was sitting so I had to move to plug in. Nevertheless, this place was definitely worth checking out! read more

Open on Memorial Day! Breakfast is served all day and got a croissant egg sammich with avocados and traditional breakfast with bacon and sausage. It lacked a bit of seasoning, so added some salt/ketchup and sriracha. Wished the croissant was a bit more toasted too. For drinks, got the lavender iced latte and americano. the BEST study spot in all of houston hands down. their drinks and the food are amazing (get a freddo and a gyro plate trust me) and the space itself is huge. they have outlets everywhere and it's just such a good vide. i tell everyone who has any amount of work to get done to go here. the owners are also super nice and always around to say hi or help u pick out a drink. love this place read more

I'm at Roast & Brew multiple times a week, squeezing in admin work between clients since it's just down the street from O Athletik. The vibe here is perfect--quiet, chill, and never too loud, making it one of the best spots in the Heights for focus and productivity. I'm not a coffee drinker, but their matcha latte with soy milk and sugar-free vanilla is my go-to. I love that they use real matcha powder without added sugar, which is surprisingly hard to find. It's smooth, not overly sweet, and always made just right. When it comes to food, I'm obsessed with their Build Your Own Omelette--easily one of the best breakfast options around. They don't skimp on the add-ins, so the omelette is huge and packed with flavor. The side of crispy roasted potatoes and sourdough toast makes it a full meal that actually fills you up. If you're looking for a solid breakfast, this is it. Beyond the food, the overall atmosphere is great. It has a neighborhood feel, plenty of seating inside, and a dog-friendly outdoor patio if you want some fresh air. Parking is easy--there's a small lot attached to the building, but a ton more parking across the street. Clean, friendly, fresh, and quiet--whether I'm here to work or just grab a good meal, Roast & Brew never disappoints. read more

Update June 2025: Came back on a Friday night because we were looking for something that closed late which is not easy to find in Houston. The customer service was terrible. There were two ladies working the front and both were unfriendly, seemed annoyed when we went and placed our orders, and just gave off overall unhappy vibes. It really threw me off and could not understand why. The place wasn't overly busy or crowded, they had plenty of downtime. I don't know what was going on but we definitely won't be coming back here, why support a business that's unwelcoming. read more

I made my own omelet and enjoyed a single espresso while waiting. No complaints. No frills. Strong beans! Quiet, remote work space. Service was great, quick and friendly. If you need somewhere to post up for an extended period of time, where you can also get a bite and a solid latte, this is a great place to start. Croissant sandy was good and filling. Bfast taters were nearly perfect- you know when you don't need ketchup. Side salad was a nice touch. We need more salad, right? Two word review: cozy + caffeine. read more

It's very possibly I just caught these folks on a bad day. Everything about this spot makes sense in theory. Private parking lot. They used the space beautifully- exterior gazebos, patio seating, and a natural light filled interior. They offer a welcoming interior decorated with care while carrying unique menu offering beyond the traditional coffee shop fare for all times of day. Paired with varied seating for study, meetings, or a light lunch, beautifully crafted drinks, eye popping entrees, and strong WiFi this spot should be a home run, BUT, something just didn't translate in practice. On my trip, the teammate who took my order was uninviting. She seemed new to the role, misunderstanding the basics (which would have been fine if her demeanor was more favorable), but her welcome didn't exactly leave a winning impressions. Anyways, oat milk cortado- fine...just fine. Avocado toast add feta- fine...just fine (it comes with a salad though which is a nice touch). Nutella pie, warmed-fine...just fine. Service-(again) fine...just fine. The hanuta ...well that one was good. Additionally, the devil is in the details, and there were a few details that could use improvement- outlets for study on tables beyond the back wall, WiFi code in a convenient location to be viewed from all tables once people sit down, team members bringing you silverware when they bring you a plate requiring utensils. It's just little things I guess, hospitality and convenience but with the Heights coffee game, those things matter. There are a million coffee options on or near 19th street. Irregardless, I wish them well, and based on the company during my stay, I may be the outlier here. Looks like they have some raving fans :). read more

Maxing spot to have a cold brea and breakfast. Fabulous outside seating under a pergola and inside seating. Coffee is super smooth and the cold brew is excellent. All types of breakfast items and sweets to enjoy if that is your thing. The place is hopping but still it seems there are plenty of seats and tables to enjoy your moment with caffeine. Super cute neighborhood cafe, with great drinks and food. There's a lovely patio area and the interior is equally nice. Very clean and spacious. Great place for a bite or just to hang out. I saw a number of people with their laptops getting some work/studying done. They don't play their music very loud which is nice - great ambience to talk with friends or read or study/do work. I had a cold brew and the avocado toast, both very good. The avocado toast was a very good portion size and filling. They also serve beer and wine. They're open early until midnight every day which is nice. We live just a few minutes away so will definitely be back on the regular. read more

It was a little after 6:00 AM when I pulled out of the hotel parking garage I had already decided to pass on the hotel brew and I wanted to find something different which meant I'd have to pass on the national brands that I choose out of convenience most days. The Heights is an area that I'm somewhat familiar with being I've been traveling to the area on business for more than a decade but I never really went out of my comfort zone when it came to grabbing that first cup of morning coffee. After spending a few minutes searching YELP I landed here at Roast & Brew, now I admit it wasn't completely by happenstance, I came across a review from a very trustworthy source, a very good friend and fellow Yelper Sara I. and after reading her beautifully crafted review I made the short drive. I arrived a few minutes after their 6:30 AM opening and found there were already a few customers sipping on their favorites. I was greeted by a member of the staff with a good morning and how may I help you and a welcoming smile - I usually keep it pretty simple so I ordered a non fat no foam latte, as he started it I shopped the pastry case and menu board for something tasty. I think Sara's review may have guided me to the blueberry muffin "tender and fresh, slightly sweet" was exactly what I was craving and definitely the perfect pairing with my piping hot latte. I grabbed a two top next to the large plate glass window and enjoyed every sip and every bite - what a wonderful start to the morning. The ambiance here at this hour was perfect, so quite and relaxing, this is a beautiful coffee shop, the mix of modern decor and the taste of passion that's brewed in every cup. The coffee was fine, but the service left a lot to be desired. We arrived early for coffee, yet everyone else received their drinks before us. The barista seemed irritated that we interrupted her conversation and wasn't friendly or engaging. We weren't even asked about our milk preference. I like the atmosphere, but in the morning, I'd prefer a place where the baristas at least smile or acknowledge customers. Shoutout to the girl with glasses -- she was pleasant and smiled -- but the other one, not so much. read more

I will be visiting Houston for only two days and specifically planned this trip around experiencing Houston Restaurant Weeks. Today, we received an email informing me that I would have needed a separate reservation specifically for the Restaurant Week menu. Unfortunately, by the time I found this out, those reservations were already sold out. We also reached out directly to the restaurant and spoke with Catherine Park from the Hostess Team. We were told there was nothing she could do, and I requested that she escalate this issue to management, as this situation is extremely frustrating and disappointing. The biggest issue is that this requirement was not clearly communicated on the Resy reservation page when I made my reservation. There was no clear indication that a separate Restaurant Week reservation was required, nor was there an option presented during the booking process. I have participated in Restaurant Week events in many cities across the United States, and I have never encountered a system where guests must make a completely separate reservation just to access the Restaurant Week menu. Typically, guests make a reservation and can decide between available menus when they arrive. Since Restaurant Week was the reason I chose this restaurant, this has been extremely disappointing. I will now be looking for a different restaurant for my Houston visit.

I appreciated her honest advice and got the dragonfruit strawberry refresher instead. It was definitely refreshing with the perfect amount of ice to keep it cold but not water it down. I also tried one of the mini croissants which is probably what will keep me coming back. Flaky and full of high quality cheese and spices, I wish I had gotten two! I'll definitely come back at an earlier time since a lot of the pastries were sold out.

I drive by this place every day on my way to work but never noticed it!! I just happen to see a recommendation from my apartment complex! I stopped by this morning for tea & breakfast. Both were delicious! The price is average for our area. The atmosphere is very cute. They offer breakfast all day and have a selection for lunch as well. They open early which is convenient for me. We don't have a lot of options before work. I recommend! read more

I really liked the look and atmosphere of the place. It felt comfortable with plenty of seating options, including spots to relax and sip. I ordered a cappuccino, but I was disappointed because I'm a bit of a coffee snob. The espresso tasted overly bitter and burnt. My wife had a dulce de leche latte, which was better. The food was excellent; the omelette was cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were very good. read more

Roast & Brew is a fantastic spot for coffee and brunch! The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly and fast. Their lattes are smooth and flavorful, but the real star was the breakfast sandwich--perfectly made and so satisfying. A great place to relax or get some work done. Highly recommend! read more

Wow, this place is awesome. The baristas are great! Had the cold pecan coffee and a latte, pastries are excellent. Dog friendly, will definitely order off the food menu and try their wine. read more
