    Gravlax toast
    Kate O.

Found this place as it shares a parking lot with a fish market we were headed to. Stopped for a light breakfast and beverages. We were a group of four, and were able to split a gravlax toast and omelette between us. The fish was wonderful and legit cured in salt and sugar--sliced medium which is perfect for me. Flavorful and thick toasted bread. The omelette on the other hand, can be skipped--so dry and eggs tasted like there might be something mixed in to stabilize, mushroom and veggies were only upside, but just ended up taking a few bites and tossing. Dragon fruit smoothie is great, and while I'm not a coffee drinker, my friends said it was good. The inside is just counter service and is shared or has an adjoining door with another business, so outside seating or takeaway at this place. Service is friendly, but slow, no biggie. Go for the toast--many selections. Good prices.

Very small place, there is no indoor seating. A few tables out front and they have more seating around the side of the building. The food was so delicious. My mom and I both got the caprese avocado toast and it was a generous helping on a delicious sourdough toast. Fresh avocado, tomato, mozzarella cheese and basil with a balsamic drizzle. Yum! I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the service was a bit slow. We waited 20 minutes for our coffees after we waited 20 minutes for our avocado toast. Also the guy making the food was wiping down the counter with a dirty towel. It was quite delicious though and the girl at the register was friendly. We had ordered 2 iced lavender lattes and some guava pastry. I would still go back though.

This place is connected to a gym and only has outdoor seating that is shaded. It's a nice spot but the service is a little lacking. No smiles, no thank yous, or any positive body language here. The food was decent but maybe it was a bad day for them.

Just flew in from Oahu for a overnight on The Big Island on the Kona side and discovered this little place. Husband ordered a breakfast sandwich which he said was pretty good. I had a yummy yogurt with granola topped with fresh blueberries and pineapples....so good. We both had a nice cup of coffee which is why we stopped in the first place. The little gem only has outdoor seating with umbrellas.

Title: **Rancid Avocado Ruined the Experience** I had high hopes for Roasted and Toasted, but my experience was nothing short of a disaster. I ordered the Big Bruddah avocado toast, expecting a fresh and delicious meal. Instead, I was served avocado that was completely rancid. When I got home and took a closer look, I was horrified to see how brown and disgusting the avocado was underneath. I had to scrape it off and throw it away into the trash. I've attached a picture for anyone who doubts the level of grossness. This was incredibly disappointing for $16 avocado, eggs, & bacon on a slice of bread. I'm willing to give you a second shot, but I'm checking the quality of the avocado before sinking my teeth into it. Save your money and your stomach - go somewhere else!

My wife & I ate here while visiting Kona for our honeymoon. I got a breakfast bagel and my wife got a waffle. The bagel was very messy but amazing! However my wife's waffle was super hard. She couldn't cut into it with a fork, and was hard for her to chew. The employees were nice, but the outside was a little disappointing as we went early in the am and the trash cans were overflowing.

Freshly made cinnamon buns :) When I ordered I thought it came with only one but when I opened the to go box in the hotel there were two :) Awesome staff. Their menu has variety of health food.

My husband and I enjoyed a scrumptious omelette with tomato, avocado and fish. The fish was not too strong, which was a pleasant surprise Pros: super fresh and healthy food, friendly service, lattes are less expensive than other places' lattes we have visited in the area, omelette is light and fluffy Cons: expensive, protein options for the omelette are all animal protein (please consider a plant based alternative) Tip: sit in the back where there is wayy more shade

Popped in for some breakfast. We were in between late breakfast and early lunch. Super nice staff. Food was our fast and outdoor seating was comfortable and shaded. Smaller than we anticipated but worth the stop. Fish tacos were well seasoned & my gravitas was as well. Don't miss this cute spot with great food!

There aren't many options for breakfast in Kona, so while strolling around our hotel, we found Roasted Toaster. It opens at 7:30AM, which was the perfect time for my schedule. I got there a little early, and the workers were super friendly and welcoming. I had the caprese toast and crepe. I loved the toast. The bread was a great texture and flavor. There were thick slices of mozzarella cheese and tomato with fresh avocado underneath. The balsamic dressing topped everything off. The crepe looked better than it tasted and was a little too doughy for me, but the fruits were delicious! I would definitely recommend Roasted Toasted for a delicious breakfast. Order the toast!

The Avocado toast is to kill for. And they offer it with many varieties. Tasty flavorable and delicious. Go and enjoy!

Spacious parking lot, lots of greenery to enhance the seating space outside. 5-6 tables, some with big umbrella shades to enjoy your meal. Super fresh ingredients and probably the healthiest meal I've had in this short vacation. This is one of those healthy vibe cafes that would crush it in LA, SF, or NYC. The prices are clearly for the tourists as well, and that's my reason for 4*; not really a place where locals can frequent. Breakfast toasts are about $13. Also, the meal container and napkins are compostable but not the plastic solo utensils. Friendly owner (I think) who is the cashier and checks in on the customers outside.

This is no "gym-staurant" this is a protein factory. Yes, it is connected to the gym but it has great grab and go (or protein packed) items for good value.

Service was wonderful -- we were helped promptly by staff, and my drink came out quickly. I got the black sesame latte with a chocolate chip cookie. I thought my drink was perfect, as the flavor of the black sesame was nutty, pleasant, and just the right amount of sweetness paired with the espresso. The cookie was on the softer/puffier side, and although it's not my preferred texture, it wasn't too bad! To sum up, I really enjoyed dropping by to get coffee here, and I feel like the quality of the drinks at Surf Camp is consistent across their different locations. I was looking forward to the Korean braised beef with kimchee rice but I see that this place made away with that, which was disappointing. Everything was pretty overpriced. We ordered the burger medium and the filet mignon. When we had gotten there, there were only us and another couple seated. The place was empty. We ordered our food and waited for what felt like eternity. $47 got us 3 small pieces of undercooked steak, a mushroom and half a tomato with chimichurri. $32 got us an overcooked cold burger. My burger tasted like it sat for 15 mins. The woman seated next to me also got a burger and idk if she ordered it that way but her burger was so red and raw, it looked like it just came out of the meat grinder. The cherry on top was when I started choking. My boyfriend had cut a piece of steak for me and since it was still pretty raw, I was chewing it for a while and it slipped down my throat and blocked my airway. I was full on choking. I went into panic mode and attempted to pull it out, and luckily enough it was so raw everything was still attached and it came out whole lol. The best part of the night was this orange cat that came by. Everyone loved him. So many people were trying to get its attention and we gave him a piece of the $47 steak and he loved it. Idk if I would ever go back to this place again. The quality of the food coming out this time around was not worth what they were asking. During our stay we ate or drank, Lox bagel, Avocado toast, Macadamia nut croissant, Ham cheese croissant sandwich, Cold brew (decent) and Drip coffee (just ok). The lox bagel surprisingly came with a sizable amount of salmon. The bagel itself was nothing special, but the good size schmear of cream cheese had some herbs and spices mixed in. The schmear wasn't the kind you'll get in NYC where you have more cream cheese than bagel, but most people will be happy with the amount. The avocado toast was tasty, with a sizable amount of fresh avocado, arugula, halved tomatoes, and thinly sliced radish, over toasted bread, with a slice of orange and a strawberry. My better half loved the Macadamia nut croissant, being buttery with a large amount of cream dotted with mac nuts. The ham and cheese croissant was less buttery than the mac nut croissant, but had a good amount of warm melted cheese and ham. The cold brew was smooth and not bitter, with solid caffeine, being a good afternoon pick me up for a session in the adult pool. The drip coffee however was quite bitter and not to our liking. You can charge your room directly if you're a guest. 3.5 stars only for breakfast ala carte or the grab and go.
