Great place and terrific food. You can sit and enjoy everything because they don't rush you out.

After being out earlier in the day with one of my gal pals in Nassau County the hunger pangs kicked in and boy were we hungry. First thought was hitting up Frank's Steaks in Jericho but since it didn't open until 4p we needed to change our game plan and quickly. After some deciding it was time to bolt Nassau and head back to Suffolk and go up North. Ok so maybe I was the one to persuade said gal pal to come to Robke's but was it worth it?! YESSSSS! Do you know how many times I've passed this place and wanted to try it? I can venture to see it's been well over a dozen times. Always thinking that "I must try Robke's! One day..." So we got there and I gotta say for a Sunday afternoon this place was bustling with plenty of patrons. Upon pulling up there was no place to park so we first pulled into the adjacent strip mall parking lot (I believe Meat Farms was in there but don't quote me) but they had signs up saying only parking for the plaza all others will be towed. So I got out of that lot and decided to go across the street to Stop & Shop. Success!!! The building for Robke's is also very deceiving cause it looks rather small on the outside but it is a good size. We only had to wait maybe 5 minutes for a table. Upon seating both of eyes had expanded much larger than our stomachs and we couldn't decide on what to get. We finally decided upon the following: First of all EAT THE BREAD! The bread is delicious! Don't ignore that bread or you will be sorry!!! - Eggplant Rollatine: Probably the best eggplant rollatine I've had. Yeah it totally blows away Branchinelli's hands down. I love my Branchinelli's but AFTER being here... yeah Robke's is the winner! - Penne Alla Vodka with Prosciutto: The pasta was more like a shortened version of Rigatoni and it was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. Honestly it wasn't overloaded with the prosciutto which was nice for a change. - Linguini with Fresh Calamari & Shrimp: My girlfriend had this and I could tell she was thoroughly enjoying it. She ate more than me! - Chocolate Mousse Cake: Ok so we were both full but we wanted dessert because well... uh?! DESSERT! Yaaaas! So we expected a small piece and no this thing was huge. So. Much. Chocolate. Oh my GOD! Was it good? Hell yeah. I just wish we had a couple of other people with us to eat it with us. Will I be back?! Yes siree! Will I be back with the said gal pal! You betcha! Let's start this off by saying if I can give less than one star, I would. Had a 6pm reservation and was seated right away. The disaster then starts after being seated. The table ordered drinks which came right out, then 20 minutes goes by before the waiter comes back to take our app order. Once the apps and entrees were placed, it took 1 hour for the apps to come to the table. And the entrees took 3 hours to get to the table from when we were seated. When we asked our waiter and the owner about what was taking so long, their response was "there's nothing we can do about it." How can it be 3 hours for our meal to come to the table from when we were seated. Absolutely unacceptable no matter the occasion. Once the food was brought to the table one order was wrong, one plate was cold, and another dish the meat was well done when asked for medium rare. It was mind boggling that once the food came out at 9pm it was cold, over cooked and cold. Horrible experience and will never give this establishment another dollar. 4 hours to eat a meal. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. Northport has so many great restaurants to offer and Robkes is definitely at the top. Their food is amazing especially their macaroni and cheese and steak. The Menu has so many great options that you will definitely want to come back and try more. The atmosphere is always great and the staff is always extremely friendly. One thing to keep in mind though is they don't take credit cards so definitely make sure you have cash. read more

It takes a lot for me to feel so compelled to write a review and this is certainly one of those moments. In a word, Robke's was TERRIBLE. For a restaurant that's supposed to be social distancing, it was packed. There was not a single empty table and unfortunately, I have no idea why. The service was awful. The waiter had to be new which is fine because you start to somewhere. I don't mind a new waiter but don't leave him there without any support or instruction. How else will he learn? The pasta was undercooked, the chicken was burned or reheated, it was so bad it was hard to tell. After having to ask for the check not once but twice we come to find out that it's cash only. There are no signs and the closest ATM is across 25A. The host was wearing a throwback basketball jersey and looked like he should be hanging out in some parking lot selling dimebags of pot. It felt like this was the first night under new ownership but apparently it's not. There was no way I could ever recommend this to anyone I actually like. If I could zero stars I would. For a restaurant that only accepts cash, they are VERY expensive. We went to dinner last night, and every single entree was $30+, with some being $40+. For such pricey meals, it seems ridiculous that drinks are then served in cheap plastic cups. Additionally, the menu didn't accurately reflect items that were fried (ie shrimp), and overall, the quality of the food wasn't worth the cost. 2 stars because the portions are a nice size, but there are so many amazing Italian restaurants in the area with better food, better services, and better prices. What a disappointment. Waiter rushed us through our meal so fast. He brought our appetizers and dinner out back to back to get us out of there asap. My wifes dinner was completely wrong. They made another dish that was so Salty that we could not eat it. Three people at the table tasted it and agreed that it was incredibly salty. The waiter was rushing us the whole time. He took my dinner plate from me with my meal still on it without asking if I was done while the fork was still in my hand. He also took the plate from my friend's wife and she told him she wasn't done. We ordered dessert and it was very disappointing. The Saint Joseph dessert was still defrosting at our table. This staff here ruined any chance of me enjoying the dinner I had last night, and I will never go back. Had date night tonight at Robke's and they did not disappoint! We arrived at around 5:30 per some recommendation that the place gets crowded and were seated right away, although the restaurant was already mostly full. The food was excellent - we had (2) pasta dishes, one with shrimp and the other a bolognese style pappardelle, the colossal shrimp wrapped in prosciutto and the Bronx chicken parm (both on special for tonight). Service was prompt whenever we needed it - special thanks to our server and management who checked in repeatedly to see how we were doing and made our dining experience very pleasant! Everyone we encountered was friendly and the ambiance of the restaurant is very cozy and inviting. We were VERY happy with our meals and will gladly be enjoying our leftovers for a second time tomorrow... couldn't stop talking about the delicious food the entire 30 min ride home. Absolutely amazing! The appetizers and meals were incredible. Prices "look" expensive but it's family style and we got a ton of food and then some to take home. Our server John was simply the best. Knew the menu inside and out , made a bunch of suggestions that were all on target, and we never had to ask for anything since John was all over it. Really great experience! Robke's is definitely "a vibe"... as my kids would say. Not sure exactly what that means to them- but to me, it means that it's a very specific type of experience. The Food here is Italian. It's good Italian. It's big Italian...It's American Italian. It's not "I've been transported to Italy" Italian. At least not the Italy I've been to. But people love this place and you can sense that as soon as you pull into the... er, parking lot? There are about 4 or 5 parking spots (I've never seen an available spot as the place is consistently packed)in front of the restaurant (which is located on the main drag of 25A) & relatively massive event tent that houses a rather hideous outdoor dining area. Again- people obviously love this place because I can't imagine why anyone would want to dine at a busy corner of 25A on a blacktop parking lot, across from Stop n Shop. So, you pull into the lot, realize there's no place to park, drop off your family to get in line with all the other people (who seem to know each other) that are happily waiting for a table. I instantly noticed an unexpected nightclub attire Theme with an abundance of -ahem-girls' (divorcée?) night & guys' night looking groups..but after settling in it's probably mostly couples and families who once seated at their respective tables, will be occupying them for the remainder of the evening. Patrons here seem to know the menu just as well as the staff and they've all got their go-to's which sell out without notice, so don't get too attached to the idea of spice crusted shrimp until you get the KO from your server. That said, if you're not a regular, don't expect to be fawned over. The place is packed- the staff is simply too busy to make your insignificant existence a priority. And it's noisy, not just busy noisy, it's like- scream your order because the waiter can't hear you noisy...So, be Prepared with your order (and a backup plan)as soon as you hit that chair and be grateful that you got a seat. You're not going to relax, you're not going to have an Epic gourmet experience, but you're definitely gonna eat your weight in gluten, cheese, sauce and oil or spend the next three days trying to finish off that doggie bag. The staff could not begin to keep up with the crowd and were harried. We had to ask for things more than once when we could finally wave down a waiter. Discovered this place a few weeks back after following one of the owners on IG for a while and decided to give it a try on our way out east! Absolutely amazing!! Not a traditional menu which is awesome! They do why they want to do and that's the best! It's also especially awesome when they can do this and the food is amazing! 2 weeks in a row now. Stopped by this small old restaurant for seafood. I gave it two stars because the food was good. And that's about it. They don't take credit cards which they should tell you when you enter. They don't give you plastic straws which I understand but replace with paper straws. They don't give you cocktail forks with your lobster or any shell fish. It was hot, smelly and a very unpleasant experience. Would not go back there again. The bartender was sweating so bad I felt sorry for her. There are so many seafood places in Huntington and Northport that have all the amenities like air conditioning and credit cards that puts this place to shame. So if you're willing to try it out make sure you go to an ATM and bring your own straw and cocktail fork with you. And I suggest bringing a handheld fan. read more

We came here for our Christmas Date and ate outside in their tent. The tent is heated from the bottom so it kept the space warm despite it being a cold night. My husband had a steak and i had pasta with broccoli and shrimp. I had a very hearty portion of shrimp and my husband loved his steak. We split a cheesecake and each had an espresso. Enjoyed a lovely dinner with my husband last night at Robkes. It was very busy but didn't take too long to be seated. While we waited we sat at the bar and had a drink. The the bar was constantly moving, not one employee was sitting around. My husband and I ordered the capellini cakes for our appetizer. They were so delicious and creamy on the inside and the vodka sauce was so good. I had the shrimp Bruno with risotto for my meal and it was perfect. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the risotto had fresh carrots and zucchini in it. Just delicious! My husband enjoyed his veal cutlet with fettuccine Alfredo, he loves veal and said it was perfection. We enjoyed a rainbow cookie cheesecake and cappuccino for dessert. A Northport classic and the literal epitome of a local favorite. The lunch special (it was for a long time 10 bucks but has reportedly recently raised to 12, still an insane bargain nonetheless) is surely among the 7 wonders of the Long Island restaurant world. For that meager price you can choose from a shockingly long list of dishes with names like Shrimp Bruno and Veal Ventricelli, which are just as decadently and deliciously American as they sound. If you arrive to late for that lunch menu you might just be able to get in for the happy hour menu which is almost as good of a bargain. If you see a classic like Chicken/Veal/Egplant Parm, that you would assume would be excellent at a place like this you are right and should order that as well. Portions are beyond huge and service beyond familiar, and the bar pours a mean strong drink. What more needs to be said? read more
