Nope. With only outside seating, they still do not allow dogs. In fact, even if you say your dogs can be tied to the public bench, they hesitate. I insisted because it's a PUBLIC bench and they finally agreed.

How is parking?

It depends. We always find parking in the Metlox underground lot and its a 5 minute walk. In front of tje restaurant its usually difficult on weekends

While the happy hour menu is relatively small, it still has good variety at reasonable prices. The staff is always very nice and attentive. Parking is also convenient, with a large two-story parking garage located across the street, as well as metered street parking nearby.

And I have to mention the bathroom... spotless, smelled great, and clearly well maintained (an underrated but important detail!). Definitely suited our sensibilities to be close to the heart of this treasure, plus it can get cold out there! When our friendly and helpful server learned that we'd never been to FwD before, we were both treated a tasty amuse, a Peruvian scallop, one of their specialties. Served chilled, absolute heaven. Simple, fresh, delicious, and very pretty atop its shell. We ordered an appetizer, a different scallop dish, Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Parsnip-potato puree, brown butter ponzu, capers). So good. Succulent, perfectly cooked and devilishly satisfying with its rich, savory flavor. We enjoyed the one dish that have been on their menu since the beginning, Koshihikari Rice. (short-grain Japanese rice, overnight chicken dashi, shrimp, uni, blue crab, cage-free egg yolk.) Wow. So much happening here, and yet it's a complete package. All the ingredients meld together sumptuously. It akin to Paella, or perhaps to a stuffed Risotto, although the Koshihikari Rice was very much its own dish. The server swerved and mixed the egg yolk on our plate, and we loved it. Our strategy to try a number of dishes and yet still have room for dessert worked. Many great choices, and I doubt we'd be disappointed with anything. However, we had heard from the table next to use that the key-lime pie was must. Happily, they were right. This Key Lime Pie is just sweet and just tart enough. Though I am not Key Lime Pie expert, this one struck me as imaginative with its meringue colony crowding the pie's surface for additional dessert debauchery. There nothing overwhelmingly citrusy about it, and it was light enough to help you feel satisfied and just right. The coffee was good, too. This is a low-key yet lovely dining experience in Manhattan Beach.

My daughter had grilled chicken and french fries. BTW, the french fries were delicious! We all enjoyed our meals. My lamb chops were perfectly cooked at medium-rare but a little under seasoned. They brought me a salt and pepper mill to season the chops. I was a little surprised that they were under seasoned. I asked for iced tea refills and they were obliging. The meal was moderately priced but for the ambiance and good quality, it was worth it. The service was spot on with plenty of staff attending to our needs. The most challenging part of our experience was finding parking. There's plenty of metered street parking and limited parking lots near the Manhattan Beach pier.

Then you see other lines, well for what? Then you see an oyster line, oh. In order to determine what each line is for, you have to do independent research. From whom? Well the employee, who do not show case any form of customer service. There were so many people lost and confused. To break it down, each "Order Here" has their own area of what can be ordered by the pound and/or cooked. So not all lines are equal. There is a crab line, seafood boil/pre-seasoned seafood, oyster, clams, I think I saw fish and fried platters, which was the longest. So after much deliberation, an employee managed to wrangle the customers to form a line. Although his mannerism seems like I'm just done with this place. One might consider ropes to further avoid these mundane confusions... I got Ana's seafood boil mix, $99. It came with a lobster, dungeoness crab, peeled shrimp, clams, sausage and potatoes. The employee told me about 10 mins. I'm like okaaaay, only 10? I walked to their souvenir shop, nothing crazy or must haves. Just cheap Chinese things with their name printed on. I return in 10 minutes. The guy doing prepping/expediting the pick order was in a frantic state. Older white male, white mustache. He was running around, mixing orders up, couldn't even tell what customers had what. The employee that wrangling folks came to help him collect himself. So 10 minutes wait turns to 15, 20, then 30 minutes. I had 2 other employees check up on my order, they said it's not ready. Okay. Finally about 35 minutes it's ready. He didn't even call out my order, I had to wave my ticket. The first rule of speed of service, never over sell the time. If it's gonnabe 30 mins plus, say 40 mins, gimme a bs reason, short handed, etc, I don't care!But why would you tell me it'll be 10 mins?! So finally got the food. Flavor was pretty good. Lobster, was okay. I wished the shrimp had the head on. Clams were big. Sausage was good. Potato seemed like the diced ones from a can, they were so small. The crab, however, is the driest. Yep, for a place that exclaims "Quality Seafood," it was kind've of a let down. They taste like the bottom batch of the crab at Las Vegas buffet. You know the batch that sits on the bottom, they don't ever rotate because the employees don't care. So it's just marinating in its own dry filth. The crab was so dry I could put that in an Advil bottle instead of cotton. So now if you ask me, would I come back? Maybe, just maybe. Anytime soon? Nah, not right now. Also with the mention of a tourist trap, it's no different than Seattle's Pike Place and surroundings.

The tables were covered in linens and we had real cutlery- am glad it was nice for my boss who was retiring! There was unlimited tea or lemonade or fountain soda drinks. Easy valet or self - parking but $6 for valet is quite affordable. Nice view of the marina and some people watching from the event room we occupied. Audio and video equipment was working well for the speeches and other presentations. It's a cool drive through the hills to get to the marina. I didn't take a lot of photos of the space. Servers were attentive and friendly. Parking attendants were quick to bring out our cars.

My partner and I had the crispy rice with spicy tuna and the shrimp taquitos, while on the pricier side it is definitely worth it. The spicy tuna crispy rice was so rich in flavor, and the crispy rice truly was crispy. The shrimp taquitos were unlike anything i've tried before! I was expecting some classic taquitos filled with shrimp but this place really goes above and beyond with this dish. The shrimps were wrapped (as you can see in the photo) and it was so good!! I definitely plan on coming back if i'm ever in the area. The ambience of this place is beautiful too, we came during the day but I really want to see how it is at night. I would say this is a great spot for a date night with a partner or friends.

One of our final meals as a family of two was Valentine's Day 2026. It was our first time being seated indoors, and the ambiance was dim and romantic. The meatloaf special was fantastic! Fast forward to June 2026, and we brought our 3-month-old son to his first NIck's meal (unfortunately, he could not partake) and to celebrate my husband's first Father's Day. On this reservation, I put in a request for outdoor seating that gave us enough room to park our stroller and car seat, and they were able to accommodate that. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. Noise level was moderate, but definitely quieter outside. If you get nothing else from this review, just remember this: ORDER THE WARM BUTTER CAKE. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. My review of this restaurant is long overdue but I finally have the time to share my experience at my new favorite restaurant!! My wife and I had some friends visiting us from out of town a couple weeks ago and we wanted to take them to a nice seafood restaurant. At first we thought of the charthouse, but then decided to try something new and decided rock 'n fish would be a fun, new place to check out. We made reservations for a Saturday night, and i suggest you do the same, because the place gets very very busy. The hostess was very friendly and sat us just as we arrived. The restaurant was very beautiful, but the most impressive feature was the huuuge bar! It stretched all the way up to the ceiling and was so big they had a ladder for the bartenders to climb up so they could reach some of the more expensive bottles of whiskey. The ambience there was upbeat, and although it was really noisy inside, it didn't bother us much at all. No more than a minute after we sat down our server came and greeted us, I'm pretty sure his name was Mike. He was very enthusiastic and he clicked with us instantly. He asked if we had ever been here before, and when we said no he seemed excited to tell us about the place. All their fish comes in fresh daily, and all their meat is USDA prime! Our friends are somewhat of "wine snobs" and were very impressed with the wine selection and the reasonable prices. Mike was extremely knowledgable about all the wine my friends asked him about and recommended two different bottles of wine for us that we both loved! My wife ordered the Blackened Halibut, which came out absolutely perfect! The fish was blackened to the point where it had a definite cajun taste to it, but it wasn't overpowering and you could definitely still taste the fish. It was very soft and cooked to perfection. I went with our servers recommendation by ordering the cioppino and I have to admit, it was easily the best meal I've had in a looooong time. The cioppino came out steaming in a black pot filled with huge scallops, shrimp, clams, fish, and crab. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. Our friends enjoyed their meals as well and we all agreed that it was some of the best seafood we've ever had. The food portions were very generous and if it wasn't all so delicious we probably would have had some left over to take home with us. After everything was said and done, my wife and I easily agreed that this was our new favorite restaurant. The location was romantic, the vibe was fun and energetic, the service was top notch, and the food was out of this world. My wife and I came from Nebraska to Los Angeles this summer to enjoy the beach, and see what this big city had to offer. We don't get much fresh seafood in Nebraska and were looking forward to getting some here in Manhattan Beach. We found Rock 'n Fish online and knew we had to give it a try after reading all the positive yelp reviews about the place. We didn't make reservations and came in around 8:00, we waited ten minutes before being sat. The restaurant itself is beautiful, its located no more than a hundred yards from the water and has a huge open sliding door that let in all the fresh ocean air. The inside is decorated with mermaids and all kinds of different glass murals. The menu was very big and was filled with things like oysters, seafood salads, sandwiches, fire grilled fish, pastas, and steaks. Our server Mike helped us sort through everything and recommended we try a tuna appetizer, then the crab cakes and the cioppino for dinner. The bread that was served before our dinner was to die for, it was a big hunk of freshly baked sourdough bread that was crispy on the outside and very hot and soft on the inside. The appetizer we ordered was a mixture of avocado, cucumbers, shrimp, and tuna all tossed together in an asian dressing and served with wonton chips. I don't remember being very fond of raw fish but this dish was incredible. My wife's crab cakes were delicious as well, easily the best we've ever had. I sometimes find crab cakes to be somewhat bland, but the spicy dipping sauce they were served with really make them extraordinary. The cioppino I ordered was star of the show. It was the first time I've ever had cioppino but I can assure you I will be ordering it wherever I see it from now on. The soup was a spicy tomato broth loaded with fresh vegetables, clams, jumbo shrimp, scallops, and crab. It was perfect, I really don't know how else to describe it. My wife and I both used to work in restaurants and really admire what Rock 'n Fish had to offer. The fresh ocean breeze, friendly staff, and amazing food were very appreciated. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - The location is absolutely incredible. Sitting so close to the beach, the restaurant takes full advantage of its surroundings with wide open windows that let in a refreshing ocean breeze and tons of natural light. It genuinely feels like you're dining outdoors without sacrificing comfort. 1 Star. Service - The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server made great recommendations and checked in just the right amount. Our server was always smiling and made it a point to ensure we were enjoying our experience. 1 Star. Food - I ordered the "New Awwlins" BBQ Shrimp, expecting a bold, smoky, Southern-style dish. What I got was something entirely different. It tasted more like a sweet and sour shrimp dish served with rice. It was a pretty dish though. It was confusing and underwhelming, and honestly, it doesn't belong on an otherwise solid menu. I had an outstanding experience at RockN Fish in Manhattan Beach, all thanks to the incredible bartender, Desiree! It was a busy night when I arrived, and while waiting for my sister, I decided to grab a drink at the bar. I was immediately greeted with a friendly smile, which set the perfect tone for the evening. Desiree recommended the Navy Grog cocktail, along with the artichoke oak-grilled appetizer and popcorn shrimp. Let me tell you, the popcorn shrimp was one of the best I've ever had--definitely top-notch compared to other places I've tried! What impressed me even more was how Desiree anticipated my needs. She even provided an extra napkin for when I squeezed the orange in my drink. I was originally supposed to sit at a table, but the exceptional service, great recommendations, and vibrant atmosphere made me decide to stay at the bar. My sister ended up joining me there, and we had a wonderful dinner together. I will definitely return to Rockin Fish whenever I'm in the area. We weren't planning on going here, we'd gone to Hermosa looking for a seafood spot near the water...apparently Hermosa Beach is the only SoCal beach with no seafood restaurants readily accessible to non-locals...so...we drove up to M.B. - We got lucky and found Rock...the service was great, the hostess and our waitress were very nice and accommodating and attentive...the bread they serve was fantastic, and they happily bring more, as often as you like without being weird about it....the ambiance is cool, loud, pub-like but still warm...we got the blackened salmon, which was a bit on the small-side, but very tasty...annnnd...we ordered the Cioppino....IT WAS RIDUNKULOUS FANTASTIC GOOD!!! It comes with a DECADENT and FFFFAT piece of cheese toast, and SO MUCH DELICIOUS FLAVOR!! I can comfortably say that this is one of the TOP 3 plates I've EVER had at ANY restaurant....and I spent 5 years as a pharma rep....The prices are fair, the bar is very cool, the bathrooms are clean and it's at the beach...WINNING! read more

When I am in the area I always try and hit this place up. I love the atmosphere in here and the staff and management are always so friendly. It was a Sunday night and we got a great table on the patio, it was cooler out but we were fine with the heaters on. Our server was super nice and very attentive...we hit her up with some questions and she was very knowledgeable and made some great recommendations...We ordered a dozen oysters...Kumiai is what were told and they were delicious! For dinner, I went with Rib-eye and my date went with the BBQ shrimp, both were fantastic! The rib-eye is marinated and absolutely the most tender and flavorful rib-eye I have had anywhere. It was cool and refreshing to see how the staff worked so good together...The mngr stopped by to say hello, fill our waters and ask how everything was, our server Danielle was great too. This is a great little find in the South Bay. Sourdough bread and mac n cheese are must haves too! read more

I really enjoy coming here for drinks after a long week.There's a nice vibe and the place feels really comfortable. I've been working myself down the menu and everything in my experience has been from good to great. I've never waited long for a table, so service has been on point, that is until my last visit. Basically, my character was called into question when I requested to have my dinner exchanged for a new one. I leave the specifics out, because ultimately I think this was rectifiable service issue, not necessarily a issue with the restaurant itself. I come from a background where customer is always right and that they should be treated with as much respect as possible. I did not receive that. It's disappointed because i still would recommend this restaurant to any future diners; however, I think I may have paid my last visit here. read more

Food was very bland! Guess they do not use any seasoning.... Salmon had no flavor, Broccoli tasted as if it was pulled out of the dirt in a garden out back and put right on the plate. There was nothing steamed about those veggies. Only thing edible on the plate was mash potatoes...... I was not impressed at all! Not sure who is running this place, but Ramsey needs to make a visit here. Hope this eatery makes Kitchen Nightmares next season, maybe that'll save them! Oh, did I mention the server was late, he did not show up to our table until our food was already on our table and asked if we need anything else.... Really sir? I passed by this place on daily basis and every time and I ended up going to a different restaurant. So last week when the line was not too crazy I thought I give it a shot with the girlfriend. Guys the Place is called Rock N Fish for a reason, for people that complain of Loud music, so If you are not into rock and looking for a classical piano, this is not a place for you. I actual really enjoyed the patio and view and the music. Nicely decorated. The service is fairy quick for the busy restaurant, with friendly waitress. Now the food could get pricey, and it is a hit and miss. but it is consistent and quality. The Fish dishes were good but the clam chowder lack flavor. I be back to try more food and I be writing an update on that. read more

Food: Ordered the Polynesian Sea Bass. WOW! It was amazing. GF and dairy free. How did they do it? Creamy sweetish sauce over perfect cooked fish atop a bed of rice. Not to mention the sourdough bread. One of the other reasons to go there. It's the best, warm and slathered with butter. Service: This time we had a party of 8. Everyone was taken care of efficiently and with friendly and competent service which for some restaurants can be a challenge! No problem here. Ambiance: What can be better than dining a few minutes from the ocean! I could see a beautiful sunset over the ocean from my seat ( street side patio). The lively atmosphere has a great beach vibe and everyone really had a great time. So fun! read more

I recently visited Rock'N Fish with my buddy, and we had an amazing experience! We started with the calamari, which hit the spot--perfectly cooked and flavorful. I ordered the fish & chips, which were crispy and absolutely delicious--some of the best I've had in a while. We also enjoyed a couple of beers, which were excellent. The service was fantastic from start to finish. The hostess greeted us warmly, and our server was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. It's clear the staff here cares about providing a top-notch experience. We rode our bikes to the restaurant, so I can't comment on parking, but the location is convenient, and the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. read more

I went here with my friend about a month ago for my second time and will keep going back! One of the best filet mignons I have ever had. It melted in my mouth and when I got a box with it to take it home, I ate it about 2 hours later and it was still melting in my mouth! The mashed potatoes and shoe string fries were amazing. I also had an artichoke appetizer which was good, I just wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce. I wish they would have brough melted butter but it's just my taste buds, I know other people would like it. This place was pretty cool. I really liked the location only a block away from the Manhattan beach Pier. I was in town visiting friends, and this was a fun place to go for dinner and drinks around sunset. BEAUTIFUL SUNSET! beautiful people all over the place, fun, lively atmosphere. I really enjoyed it. Was a little on the pricey side, but the environment made up for it. The ribs were great, was em down with a couple blue moons, was a great way to start the night. No 5 stars because it was pretty crowded when we went and the service came off a little rushed and not very attentive, but overall it was a good experience. read more

The food here is pretty good. I've had a lot of dishes here that I can honestly say were more bland than I thought. I just don't think the food is creative enough, I guess not coming from the chef's heart but it definitely good standard steak and seafood. I had the filet mignon once though and I can honestly say it was one of the best I've ever had, the meat melted like butter. I didn't even really have to cut it with a knife. The navy grog's are killer, you will definitely get a buzz after one and I think they taste great although a lot of people I know don't like them. read more

The food here is amazing!! I love it, love it, love it!! For starters we had the ahi tartare appetizer which was super delish and the grilled artichoke which was probably the best artichoke I have ever eaten in my life!! For a main course I got the blackened halibut with the spicy mac n'cheese and the grilled vegetables which were all super tasty!! I definitely would recommend all of these items!! Oh and I can't forget the bread that they bring out, it was hot and yuuuuummmmyyy!! And I am not usually a bread fan. I will most definitly be visting rock n' fish again! read more

This place is fantastic! If you are going on a weekend I highly recommend a reservation. The grilled artichoke is wonderful! I am from the east coast and had never had one before and I think everyone must try one. THe macadamia nut encrusted mahi mahi is to die for. It comes with a very sweet pineapple buerre blanc sauce that I enjoyed so much I that I found a similar recipe online and made it at home. The pricing is standard for manhattan beach and it is only a couple of spots up from the pier. read more

We visited Rock'N Fish during an anniversary trip to CA. This was just an afternoon snack so we had some apps and a drink. The shrimp mango ceviche and mahi sliders apps were very good. I've been told the grilled artichoke app is fantastic but we were not craving that at the time. Good drink and wine choices. It's a little pricy but understood given Manhattan Beach. It is just up the street from the pier so location is fantastic. I do think it's worth stopping in for a bite and drink. Enjoy! read more

His recommendations were spot on, he was attentive without ever being intrusive, and when my girlfriend got a little chilly on the patio, he even brought her a blanket without us having to ask. It's those thoughtful little touches that truly elevate an experience. As the sun began setting over the marina, Alison Brecht performed live acoustic music that created the most romantic atmosphere. She even took a couple requests, including mine and my girlfriend's favorite songs. Sitting outside by the fire table, enjoying an incredible meal while listening to live music and watching the boats in the harbor, felt like something out of a movie. It was the perfect backdrop for celebrating our anniversary. Sea Level exceeded every expectation we had. The dining room was very loud, and we were seated right by the front door, so there was a constant flow of people walking by. I understand every restaurant has a few less-than-ideal tables. I worked in restaurants myself but it definitely affected the experience. If you're dining with a smaller group, I'd recommend sitting at the bar instead. From what I remember from previous visits, the bartenders are fantastic, and I actually prefer the atmosphere there. I had also noted on my reservation that we were celebrating my birthday. I wasn't expecting a complimentary dessert or anything, but I was surprised that neither the host nor our server acknowledged it with even a simple "Happy Birthday." It's a small detail, but thoughtful hospitality goes a long way in making a celebration feel special.
