Southwest Chicken Chop Salad
Janet H.

Loved our lunch here - I had the Southwest Chicken Chop Salad (A little on the spicy side just in case you don't like heat!) it was huge and loaded with avocado. I took half home and had it the next day for lunch as well. Hubby had the Rookie Meltdown. We both thoroughly enjoyed. Service was great.

Two cosmos (muddled orange) were fabulous!

We had the best meal here the other day. We ordered the wedge and protein burger (served salad style, no bread) that's how it comes. It's great, we will be back! The cosmos were good too and the bartender was happy to muddle an orange in mine, no problem. Nice bar and restaurant, busy often with the games on too.

A hidden gem in the middle of the desert! The restaurant boasts a lot of charm that stays true to its fire department theme. Don't be fooled by the looks of its small menu; it does contain a lot of heat. We ordered the tempura shrimp as an appetizer, then had the pork chop, salmon, and chicken-fried steak for mains. This joint is simply superb!

Ontario reign fans took over the bar that's home of the Coachella firebirds and it was packed. The time we got there, only outdoor seating was available. No one helped us find a seat. We just used our arms and a couple of napkins to dust off the chairs. They were dirty. I think the bar wasn't prepared for such a large crowd to arrive. We just had some drinks and they were good. Overall nice place, not the greatest for large crowds.

This place is pretty good for lunch. Portions are pretty decent. I wasn't hungry or overly full after. I had the Volunteer (Turkey breast, Swiss, avocado, bacon, grilled sourdough) it came with seasoned fried. The sandwich tasted fresh and the Swiss was a nice touch to the sandwich.

Ahi Tar Tar

First time at Firehouse Grille and was very happy with the food drink and service. I had the Captain Aidan Chicken Sandwich and an 805 draft and was very delighted. My wife had the Ahi Tar Tar with a Pino Grigio and was happily surprised. I definitely recommend.

Riding Tailboard - with tots

Giving this spot a 5 star due to great service and chicken wings. Ambiance is of a bar spot with ample seating. The wings, tots, and fries were amazing. Would definitely come here for them again. We ordered the Bombero sandwich and the Riding Tailboard burger and both were pretty good. They had a bit less flavor than would want. The Bombero needed a sauce, and the burger as well. We added some ranch and ketchup to each and they were good. Recommend coming for the wings and fried items. Did not try their other fried foods but would bet they're on point also.

Must come here!! Shana is awesome and food is stellar! Try the bacon ham burger and the hot wings! Sooooo good! Plenty of food, parking and chill vibes!

Just passing thru town and decided to spend the night. The wifey n I opted to pay the ROC a visit for dinner n drinks. This place did not disappoint. Everything was made to order fresh hot and busting with flavor. We had the Asian Wings with jalapeños, garlic tots, Raspberry Jell-O shots six (6) strong, Roast Beef on sour dough with aoli was and onion rings, their Chicken sandwich was also top shelf. Simple Bar food plus plus. It was all delicious.

The service was good. The food was fine. The restaurant has a fire fighter theme. It was nice. This place was not bad but nothing great.

Where do I start?? Got there about 8pm, found 2 seats at the bar with great seating options…read morescattered throughout the dining area. Being my first time I like to gauge the staff/table ratio ti get an idea on wait time for service. While waiting for my friend, I noticed a large table off to the side having drinks and playing a card game. I was impressed seeing that they were consistently getting rounded on by their server. Finding out this was a family run small business made this even more impressive as it was a full house. Additionally, it felt like the entire bar was excitedly watching the FIFA game, which was surprising because the difference in noise level from the outside of the building was significant. From the bar perspective, the bartenders were so kind (A), provided short/sweet conversation and excellent recommendations (A+), AND gave us time to look over the menu without being pushy (A++). I tried the lavender buzz and the oso espresso martini, my girlfriend had a lavender lemonade seltzer both being DELICIOUS. We Comfortable chairs, bathrooms and business were clean, and water is available at any time by the door with a self serve station. Overall, great spot, amazing staff, great variety of beers and seltzers, the pizzas are killer, the nachos were perfect, cocktails were a hit, great space for watching a game or hosting a group apparently, and even better for a date night! Stoked to have a place like The Bear Trap in Big Bear. Already planning our next trip.

Hey Brian, I wanted…read moreto reach out about something that happened tonight that I feel you should know about. I also want to be clear that all of this transpired after you had already left for the evening. For context, I'm a regular at the bar and have been coming in for quite a while. I've never had a major issue with Brent or Steven, even though they both have personalities that can come across as sarcastic or abrasive. I've generally let it go because my reason for coming to the bar is simple: I come in to have a few beers, relax, and enjoy myself. Tonight, while I was still drinking one of my beers and had some left in the glass, Brent came by and took it away as if I was finished. I jokingly said something along the lines of, "I guess you're not going to let me finish the last bit." I wasn't upset and wasn't trying to start an argument. It was an obvious mistake that could have been solved with a simple apology. Instead, he responded with a snarky comment rather than acknowledging the mistake. Later, he brought another beer to my table. I made eye contact with him and before I could even say anything, he asked, "Do you want to say something to me?" I replied, "No, I just wanted to say thank you." His response was, "Your eyes are telling me differently." Again, I found that unnecessarily confrontational and disrespectful. At that point, I decided to leave a $0 tip. I normally tip very well, often around 30% or more, and this was the first time I've intentionally left no tip because I wanted to send a message that I was unhappy with the way I was being treated. After that, Steven came over and confronted me about leaving no tip. He asked if I was really zeroing it out and questioned me about whether something had happened between me and Brent. I told him that whatever issue I had was not his concern, and he responded, "Fair enough." I assumed that would be the end of it. Instead, Brent came outside and confronted me. He told me Steven had said I had a problem with him. I explained that I didn't have a personal problem with him; my issue was his attitude and the way he was treating me as a customer. Rather than listening, he became increasingly hostile. I reminded him that I'm a customer and that I'm only there to buy beer from the business. I'm not there to deal with sarcasm, attitude, or an employee's emotions. As a paying customer, the minimum I expect is basic respect. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells or accept being spoken to disrespectfully while simply trying to enjoy a beer. That confrontation ended poorly and he went back inside. A short time later, he came back out and confronted me again, this time in front of other customers. The situation became even more uncomfortable because it was happening publicly. During that exchange, he ultimately told me that I was not welcome back. Again, I reminded him that I am a paying customer whose only purpose in being there is to support the business and enjoy a beer. I should not be getting into arguments with employees, being confronted in front of other patrons, or being told I'm not welcome because I expressed concerns about how I was being treated. The bigger issue is that, in my opinion, this isn't just about tonight. This has been months in the making. I've noticed a pattern with both Brent and Steven where they seem to have become comfortable treating customers with attitude and sarcasm in ways that shouldn't be acceptable in a customer-facing role. I've overlooked it many times because I enjoy the bar and didn't think it was worth making an issue out of. On the other hand, employees like Kim, Josh, and David have always treated me and other customers with professionalism and respect. They know how to joke around while still making customers feel welcome. I've never had an issue with them. From my perspective, the problem is specifically Brent and, to a lesser extent, Steven. Brent especially has developed a demeanor that I find unwelcoming, confrontational, and disrespectful toward customers. I don't think I'm the only person who feels this way. Tonight was simply the point where it crossed a line. I'm not sending this because I want anyone fired or punished. I simply think you should know what happened, especially since it all occurred after you had left. I've spent a lot of time and money at your establishment over the years, and I would hope that customers--especially regulars--can expect basic courtesy and respect from the people serving them. I wanted to give you my side of the story directly. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Like the names suggests, this spot is a smallish room that serves craft beer. They also have a…read morecouple of televisions inside so you can drink while watching whatever game they have on. The folks/beertenders were very friendly and you can tell they're enthusiastic about craft beer and the craft beer community. I've only visited once, but I've been told that they regularly rotate out their taps and have cans of local and not so local breweries for sale out of the fridge. At the time of my visit, I noticed some cans from some of my favorite breweries in the LA and SD area. The place feels like a craft beer oasis in that it's a bit of a destination and I'm not sure what else is around. Although, to be fair, I don't live in the immediate area and don't really know the area that well in terms of craft beer offerings. Definitely a spot I would like to frequent. There seemed to be plenty parking when I went. Not sure if it get's really crowded when some more of the surrounding businesses are open, but I had plenty of spaces to chose from.
