"I was shocked and deeply hurt by the treatment I received at Rodies today. I am a person with a disability, and I recently returned home from training with my service dog. This was supposed to be a nice breakfast with a friend at my favorite spot, but instead, we were told we had to leave. The staff insisted that I could not stay unless I provided the dog's 'registration' or 'license.' When I politely tried to explain that no such registration exists under the ADA or Florida Law, and even showed them the law on my phone, they still wouldn't listen. They claimed a 'health inspector' had just been there and told them to only allow 'registered' service dogs. To be clear: There is no legal registration for service dogs in the U.S. or Florida. Health codes do NOT override federal civil rights laws like the ADA. Claiming otherwise is a direct violation of Florida Statute 413.08. I've been a regular here, but I cannot support a business that kicked me out illegally .If you have a service animal, stay away--they do not respect your rights here." read more

We met my son, DIL, and grandson here for his 3rd birthday breakfast/lunch. We'd heard good things about the restaurant and I'd eaten at Jerome's next door last week. The servers are incredible friendly and attentive, and the food is good. I wouldn't say excellent, but it was tasty. The decor is VERY minimalist, and that could be an easy fix just to add some life to the place. I love how they served my grandson's pancakes! My big complaint was it was $35 for my wife and I to eat breakfast... that's a lot for a couple omelettes, hash browns, and water. Yes I know the cost of things is high, but not that high for eggs and potatoes. We may be back, but it's not high on our list when there are other less expensive options. read more

We go to all the other places around Rodie's for years and today we figured, why not give them a try? We opened the door to get in and was hit by a weird smell. That should have been my first sign to leave but we stayed, while trying to decipher "what exactly is that smell?" The service was okay. A bit weird but cordial. As elder millennials we were most definitely *not* the Target customers. The food came out quick. Big enough portions to share. It was okay. You don't need syrup (unless you want diabetes) the "cheesecake" portion is mostly just powdered sugar and a touch of cream cheese, it's very gritty and painfully sweet. While we were sitting there eating and deciding where to get coffee after, still trying to figure out where the smell is coming from, someone came over to wipe the table behind us. Then the smell HIT US! It was so gross. We couldn't get up and out of there fast enough. It's the rag or whatever it is that they are wiping the tables with. A combo of dirty dish water/bathroom, mildew, and just no. I don't know how they cannot smell that. It cannot possibly be sanitary. Anyways, the food is meh and after figuring out where the smell came from definitely don't want any food from there! read more

I've been making this particular Roadies in Clearwater a must for most of my breakfasts while here in Florida. I must fly to Tampa from NYC maybe 5 times a year and most of the Roadies staff still remember my drinks of choice and my breakfast likings. Eggs Benedict omg so amazing and down in in the south they seem to make it better than they do up north in NYC.Frying the ham and adding a touch of paprika really compliments this dish and makes the food excel.Granted the NY Pizza and bagels still Rock there I usually get a nice salad to go with my Eggs Benedict and the salad if always very my fresh. Another option I've been getting is the oatmeal This oatmeal comes with bananas,raspberries,strawberries. And other items I usually don't get like raisins and walnuts and other fruits. Their chicken casadea is the best that I've ever had and my sister said yesterday that even though this wasn't a Mexican restaurant they still make this meal the best Extreamly friendly waitresses and some of them even own the place makes this a wonderful and engaging experience. A group of friends in a Tuesday morning Bible study decided to visit Roadies for send off luncheon for our leaders. A couple that is moving from Florida back to Ohio to be near kids and grandkids. We had reserved a table for 16 people and 14 were able to make it. Our table was ready for us when we arrived from 5 minutes away. We were greeted with huge smiles from Claudia as we were seated. Menus were already laid out so drinks ordered. Too many different plates to remember so I will mention a few that sat near me. I opted for the Greek Quiche with Spinach, Feta Cheese and onions. It was excellent with a side of creamy Grits. One of my friends chose the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and said it was great. Another had a Mushroom Swiss Burger and so big she could only eat a yummy half. Another friend picked the Country Breakfast with Biscuits, Gravy, Eggs and Bacon. If not for my diet I would have leaned in that direction! But the winner had to be a regular and her usual Fruit Crepes with Bananas, Strawberries and Blueberries. It looked amazing and she said it always is. Everything on the menu looked great so May have to make several visits to try more dishes. I was staying at a hotel located in the same plaza as Rodie's, so before we checked out my husband and I decided on breakfast here. It is the cutest place, and the staff is friendly and efficient. Clean and quaint and lots of menu options. They are open for breakfast and lunch daily. We were immediately seated and attended too. We started with some coffee and looked over the menu. We decided on the vegetarian omelette with pancakes and hash browns and a side of corned beef hash to share. The portions are a perfect sharing size if you aren't a big eater. We went to Rodie's Clearwater on Sunday to get our monthly fix of corned beef hash. We never get tired of this place, great food, great service, great prices and very clean. We try to get there early as this place gets busy on the weekends. At 8:00 am we walked right in and grabbed a table. By the time we left almost all of the tables were occupied. read more

We were staying locally and we're told this place had good food and gives a 10% discount to hotel guests from our hotel. Well we tried it. Food was just ok. Prices were higher than the average locally and guess what? As of 7 am this morning, and with zero warning to our hotel, there is no more discount. Honestly, I wouldn't bother coming back even if there was a discount. The food tasted like it came from the Dollar Tree across the street. Toast was barely there. Everything was light on flavor. I got croissant with griddled turkey, spinach, poached eggs & hollandaise. My daughter got choco chip pancakes, scrambled egg whites & soft bacon, all cooked and served the way she requested. I'm not going to lie... walking in here I was very skeptical. The customer base is older & there wasn't many folks here when we arrived (10:20 am) but did fill up rather quickly. The grilled cinnamon bun delish, the Boston cream pancakes were out of this world and the chicken fried steak was hands down the best I've had in years and I just moved here from Dallas! This was a nice find. Large enough to accommodate high traffic weekend mornings. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Coffee was diner coffee, the food was great. We tried a Cinnamon Roll which was extremely soft and sticky (how we like it), I had the Banana Nutella Crepes, they were good, but the fake whipped topping was pretty gross. Had zero flavor and was quickly turning to a milky water on the plate. An upgrade to real whipped cream would make it fantastic. The Belgian waffle that my boyfriend had was the best he has had in 7 years of trying them down here. I have to agree, they aren't usually my pick, but I tried his and it was amazing. After a few months being at your new location across the parking lot from the old, it seems as though you finally got your groove on as far as serving stuff goes. Why 4 Stars? Solid affordable Breakfast, Friendly staff that their face doesn't change and if you want lunch? They got yummy french fries. Been here several times over the past 3 years and I figured it's time to give it a go for a review. Our Stand-By meals are Steak and Eggs (cause they give you a big cut of decent steak for roughly ~10 bucks), pancakes, omlets and recently went for lunch and got a Chicken Philly. The chicken Philly was one of my favorites. The coleslaw and the upcharged fries were delicious. Is it worth paying $1.25 more for french fries? YES Do it! Diner food, fairly quick service, a hostess that was delightful and kept our child occupied while we were waiting was a bonus. We'll be back again and again for sure! read more
