I've been here several times over the years, and one constant has always been the service. People who have had bad experiences seem to have had the wrong server: next time, ask for Shelby...she'll take care of you! I've always gotten pizza here because it's something I know they do well. My son got pizza, and I can tell you that it's as good as ever: the crust is chewy and they aren't shy about the cheese or the toppings. I got the fish tacos. Take a look at the picture: the fish is light and flavorful on the inside, and crispy on the outside. And, the portion is generous. But, it really needs a sauce. I asked for hot sauce and sour cream to make my own sauce, and it was decent, but it should really come with one. My wife got a grilled chicken salad, which had nicely seasoned chicken breast and a creamy ranch dressing, plus a massive plate of high quality greens. I'm also planning to come back here for my daughter's graduation party next year. At $10 a plate to start, it beats the heck out of catering at my house, I know the food's great...and I don't have to clean up. read more

My family and I have always been huge fans of Rogers Roost, we began patronizing Roger's in 2005. We would often recommend it to, or bring out of town family and hang out on the patio for many sunset cocktails over the years. The last couple years things have back slid (service/food/environment). Tonight was the last time I will go there, we asked a passing server if we could sit outside and he passively said he would grab a server. A server came out, gave us some menus and said yet another server would grab our order. At this point we were seated for 10 minutes. My husband set a timer just to see how long it would take and we sat there for 10 minutes and nobody came by. I don't mean to sound entitled or anything but if I were in the business of being a server I would want to maximize my profits by waiting on every table I could. It wasn't overwhelmingly busy either. The food is always just so good but my favorite time to go is on Tuesday's for 1/2 off pizza (dine in early). The service tonight wasn't the best but the food was sooooo good that it made up for the service. The spinach artichoke dip is probably one of the best I've had yet. It's so creamy and there's more dip than bread, which never is anywhere else! I tried the special Reuben pizza. A small (6 pieces) was $17. Was it $17 good? Eh, debatable. But it was super good. Could have had just a tad bit more corned beef though. The large (8 pieces) was $20, but a small was enough for me today. My total bill for the spinach artichoke dip and pizza today was $18! Came here for a family birthday dinner. For being about 20 of us, service was great! No one had to wait long for food or drinks. In lieu of a bread basket, popcorn fills the tables. Always a fan of free snacks . Typically we order pizza when we stop in to Roger's Roost, however, this time I branched out. I tried the fish tacos and was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't typically order seafood and a restaurant associated with pizza but I'm glad I did. The fish was perfectly crispy and topped with crunchy cabbage, lime mayo, and pico de gallo. I opted for the sweet potato waffle fries, delicious as well. The portion was huge! I easily could have split this with someone instead of taking it home for later! read more

We had a group of six yesterday. The server either was very new and/or very bad. First we ordered drinks. 10 minutes later the server came back to tell us that did not have Sam Adams on tap. We reordered the drink and waited ten more minutes for them to arrive. Then we ordered food on person ordered a calzone WITHOUT sausage another person ordered a chicken pita WITHOUT cheese. As you can guess the calzone came with double sausage and the pita had extra cheese. Then it came time to pay the bill. We had gift card which we gave the server. First he came back and asked if we were sure there was anything left n the card. Indeed we showed him the receipt from the purchase. He went back to try again and then returned to tell us the manager said they could not process gift cards at this time. If you go ask for Aiden!!! He is an amazing server and when two girls put a party of 8 at two different booths, he went out of his way to make sure we got a table sitting together. The 8 of us had just came from a funeral. It was nice of Aiden to accommodate us so that we could all eat together. He was a very polite young man and brought everything and promptly! I was surprised to see that Rogers Roost had such a low rating on here since we had a very nice dinner with friends tonight. The food was great and our waiter was right on top of anything we needed for our group of 10. We all ordered appetizers and they came out within 10 minutes. Quick and accurate and tasted great. Try the tenderloin steak pieces with mushrooms as they were excellent! Got ribs and shrimp and ribs were fall off the bone while the jumbo shrimp were nicely breaded with seasoned panko crumbs. An unfortunate rainout, of a large golf outing - just up the road. Management was so accommodating and let us have back of restaurant an hour earlier than reservation. Probably 50 people. #Thanksgiving Family style I can't complain about the food or the service! Everything tasted great starting with the cold salads brought out first. 5 bean, green beers, pasta salacranberry and coleslaw. Then the bread and the main attraction Turkey(real)mashed potatoes(real) gravyand stuffing. There was 5 in our party we were at a pretty small space for the size of plates and platters but we worked with it. If you don't have the space fill your plates with the salads when they bring out the main course. It was Thanksgiving and 1pm a pretty popular time apparently. We'll definitely go back next year Don't forget to make Thanksgiving Day reservreservations when they start taking them. Never enough room on your tables for the huge platters, unless you have a big reservation and are put in the banquet room. Always worth it though, take your family style leftovers home! read more

Sadly, all of our orders were given to us with the wrong items, the rice was dry and crunchy, and for the price, I'd rather eat at McDonald's and save money, with at least edible food. The ambience is pretty cool the food and service well... the service was mediocre after drinks were empty for a while she finally brought refills once. We had a wait around before she brought our bill and they weren't super busy. the food left something to be desired. The pizza looked overly greasy nice if you're trying for clogged arteries, I had the salmon dinner of you could call it that, the salmon was small, very small. The side salad comes on a teeny tiny plate. It would be nice if restaurants could figure it out that salad should be served in a bowl so you can actually eat it without half of it falling off the plate. Or at least a plate that's large enough! I bet they don't eat their salads on teeny tiny plates at home. We probably won't be going back there for a while. My family of 10 came here yesterday after a funeral. It was around noon and we weren't greeted by anybody for at least five minutes. We were seated and a waitress came by to get our drunk order fairly quickly. That was the fastest service would be for the rest of our stay. Took awhile to get our drinks. Even longer to get our food orders in. And even longer to get our food. I ordered chicken tortilla soup since I wanted to order sliders but apparently they don't have them even though they were on the lunch special menu. Even if I had to pay more that would have been okay too. The waitress was really snooty. We didn't get refills. Food was good. My soup was piping hot and had lots of chicken and flavor, especially with the tortilla strips, green onions and sour cream. The bills weren't done correctly but at this point we didn't care. Thankfully we all paid in cash because our waitress was nonexistent at this point. All the other tables got free popcorn. We didn't. So sad we won't be back. Went in for lunch with a friend. The place was not busy. We sat down waited a little time to be waited on. Then one girl came over took our drink over and few minutes later another girl came over to ask what we wanted to drink. I ordered the club sandwich and fries, but when my food came it was a Rueben and I told her that not mine her reply was oh it is on rye like your club WOW. The sandwich itself when it came was good the best part was the super fresh tomato on it. The weird part was part of the bread was toasted correctly the other quite crunchy. The fries were ok. Well I am going to throw a solid three star here for Monday night football, I can say that the limited service is doing their best, getting it done. I liked the craft beer list it was solid with all varieties at 6$ average per beer. They also had 5 beers in a bucket for 12$. My friend had a winner winner 12$ chicken dinner with the trimmings He loved it. But I think our weekly group of friends would be bigger if they had some half time chow, how they have been doing in the past. It's been at least 15 years since I've been to Rogers Roost. I can honestly say Rogers Roost hasn't aged well. Inside it's just dusty and dingy looking. Needs a good cleaning and perhaps a little update. When we walked in there was no one at the desk to seat us, we had to walk almost into the restaurant itself in order to be noticed and seated. Service was kind of slow but given there was only one server I can understand the delay. I felt like it was more a kitchen issue, I don't fault our waitress at all. She made sure our drinks were refilled and cleared dirty dishes as quickly as she could. We ordered the combination appetizer and subbed extra potato skins for the buffalo wings. The potato skins were cold. The chicken tenders were thin and dry, the cheese sticks were just ordinary cheese sticks you could buy from the grocery store. Definitely not worth $15.00. We ordered the lunch special fish and chips and honestly it was excellent. But the whole experience was just disappointing and seemed to take forever, I doubt I'll be back. read more

We had not been there in ages (just not on a regular path)...Rogers Roost stepped UP by hosting a huge bowling fundraiser for the Macomb Foster Closet and knocked it out of the park. After bowling we were invited back to Rogers Roost for dinner. The meatballs, amazing. The pizza, delish and they offer a big variety, salad was plentiful and fresh, the service was top notch. I would highly recommend stopping in and supporting this great establishment that goes above and beyond to help the kids in the Foster community. read more

This is my first and last visit to the Roost. It took well over an hour to receive my French onion soup and when asked about it the waitress stated "We ran out of bowls, so they are being washedl." That should have been my first clue that we were in trouble. Our dinner arrived 35 minutes after our soup, and our waitress told us "I'm sorry but the kitchen is having a meltdown and both managers are helping in the kitchen." Our waitress was as accommodating as she could be within her power but obviously embarrassed by how awful this service was going. I unexpectedly decided to take the day off and was pleased to have an impromptu lunch date. Due to the proximity of where we both were at the time of the planning, Roger's Roost seemed like the most logical location to lunch at. This place brings back a ton of memories of my youth, but I really haven't been that impressed with the food as an ...adult. We had a funeral luncheon here this time last year and the food was good and the service was wonderful, so I really can't complain. As we entered the bar area the bar stools were the first thing I noticed. They are permanently fixed to the floor. There are no backs to them and they didn't seem very comfortable. They weren't horrible, but I don't think I could have sat there a few hours or anything. It was pretty dead in there with only a couple of big groups and us. The bar tender was helpful and very attentive. I was concerned about the menu because Rogers Roost is known for their pizza and we are both on a diet. So pizza is not an option. I was happy to see there was a vast selection of salads and quickly chose the salmon salad. He chose boneless wings with an Asian sauce. My salad was delicious. His wings were a joke. They looked like something taken out of a bag of frozen chicken nuggets. And the portion size looked like it was a kids meal. It didn't look appetizing at all. He was disappointed and ate them so quickly that I had barely poured my dressing on my salad. In a fairly blue collar area, wings seem like a staple. How do you mess that up so badly? Last night we walked into Rogers Roost to have dinner. Within 1 minute of sitting dow a man walked over, grabbed our menus and said we are not serving you. We have never been to this restaurant EVER! We did not drink before we went in, so have no clue why? He was extremely rude and I would never give a place like this business. We eat out several times a week and have never been treated like this. We went to Texas Road house and when we asked our waitress do we look serve able, our waitress said you look fine to us (she grabbed someone else because we asked). So we shared a Margarita, ate a way better meal, for better prices, in a way more relaxed and upbeat environment! Prices on Rogers Roost menus are too high anyways, go to Texas Roadhouse and get yourself a good meal with friendly staff and management. PROS: Their Chicken Tortilla Soup is amazing! I wish I could talk to the person that makes this soup!!! It's so good! I also love the Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread. We go here often. Most of the waitresses are good. Looks like they are weeding through some of the waitresses with major attitudes. This place is doing an amazing job of handling large amounts of business, even during this pandemic. If they're short staffed up here, I haven't noticed. My family and I are locals and visit several times per year. Most recently, we went on a Tuesday. We didn't know, but all pizzas are half off on Tuesdays. That was a bonus!!! They had a full house with a short wait. Once we were seated, we were taken care of in a timely fashion. Food was good and waitress was friendly. We will continue to return. I was uncertain about going to this place due to the lack of recent posts. But I had another incentive for spending money at this establishment so we gave it a try. We didn't have a wait, as we had missed the dinner crowd and early for the live band crowd. Waitress was attentive and pleasant. Food was a major disappointment. The sliced brisket was sliced too thick for my preference. I asked for the bbq sauce on side rather than having smothered in sauce. Baked potato was under cooked. Brisket was tender, but relied on the over powering sauce to provide all the flavor. Husband ordered fish and chips, requesting extra crunchy fries. Fish was good, fries weren't as requested.
