I feel like this spot serves some of the best Thai food in the area I have tried so far. I have tried other spots in the location but doesn't come to par. Green or Red curry is delicious. Pad Thai or Pad See Ew is a solid take out dish. Thai Basil Sauce is my favorite. I always ask for spicy and extra Thai basil. The extra basil makes the dish so fragrant. It's a banger! Curry puff appetizer is good. Fried little parcels of curry goodness. Filled with a potato mix filling, curry spices and fried golden brown. We order delivery and take out from here regularly and will continue to support them as they always given quality and fresh food. Ordered the mixed fried rice and curry puffs. The fried rice portion was pretty good, with lots of meat and veggies. It did lack flavor though - there was practically no spice and even lacked salt. My major disappointment however, was with the curry puffs. These were nothing like what was advertised on the picture on their DoorDash menu and turned out to be some version of an Indian samosa. Personally, I didn't care much about that but when I took a bite, I realized these puffs barely had any chicken stuffing. It was mostly just potato, again contrary to what was advertised in the description. All of my dishes were a 10/10 for me, and I've never eaten Thai food before! I'm happy my first experience was not a disappointment. There's finally another restaurant in my hometown with a space for spicy food lovers to explore. What really stood out to me was the sauses that accompanied my starter dishes. WOW! We thought we'd treat ourselves today and order in- for the bamboo shoot curry with veggies, fried rice, spring rolls and sautéed veggies. The bamboo shoot curry with ginger and basil sauce had about 20 shreds of carrots floating in a brown watered down sauce, that tasted neither like ginger nor basil. The fried rice looked like a big lump of vomit and had not 1 peice of vegetable. The sautéed veggies that I got for my 2 year old, had some more measly carrots and giant pieces of cabbage stems- it felt like someone cut up veggies and instead of throwing the scraps in the bin, put it up in the menu as a side for $5. I mean, at a time like this when I see so much talk about small business trying to make it through these difficult times, and how as a community, we need to come together and support each other. Unfortunately, I feel really let down by this place, and surprises me that it has such great reviews online. How does such a place slnot only survive but also thrive? I was looking for a vegan friendly Thai place (the one I used to frequent changed their recipe and our favorite dish was no longer vegan). This is a friendly casual spot in union city. When I used to live on Bergenline years ago I was always the chinito on the block and knew all the Chinese restaurants around west New York but recently union city has transformed a lot the past 10 years and you would miss this place if you didn't search for Thai food in Hudson county. I was very pleased to have found this place in Union city which you wouldn't expect since there isn't a big Thai community but we all do love Thai food which brought me here, a very mom and pop shop which I admire and respect . There is no AC so summers you will feel like you're in Thailand but they do have two fans running. I recommend to start out with the fried meatballs and go with the pad Thai or any of there noodles.
