This place is super fun and hip! They have a variety of viet options like pho and banh mi! The oxtail pho is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it for anyone in the mood for pho. The Banh mi is what I had this time and it was also delicious and flavorful. I always get the fresh coconut as a drink because it is so refreshing and they cut it open for you. It's a lovely decent fast food place which serves American Vietnamese. It's a tiny place and always crowded and hard to find a parking space because it's so popular. While the taste is very good, I do have several complaints: 1. The high table is not very comfortable. 2. Pho is served in a very tall cup, as tall as my chopsticks, so it's not easy to eat the pho especially the noodle is at the very bottom. I think they can either give me longer chopsticks or use wider but shorter cup. 3. The beef in the pho and the meat on the bowl are not as good as regular pho restaurant. read more

Roll Play is one of my favorite quick take-out meals. It is a favorite of many friends and family in the area. The magnum rolls are delicious and bursting with flavor. They used to come in three's, but now you can buy each one separately which is awesome if you want to mix and match. They come with classic Vietnamese herbs, mango, crunchy filling, and rice noddles. The meat is marinated and sweet; my favorite is the pork belly magnum roll. And it comes with your choice of a dipping sauce- the spicy peanut is amazing and makes the dish. If you'd like an appetizer, get the crispy pork spring rolls, they come with a sweet chili dipping sauce- you won't be disappointed. read more

No customer service really, you walk into three monitors staring at you, which makes it easy for their lunch rush I guess. They didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in the door, just assumed I knew to go straight to the kiosks. Ordered the magnum rolls with pork belly, they were tasty. The hard part is getting it in your mouth. They are like burritos... Difference is you don't dip burritos into a sauce. Everything came apart once I took a bite and tried to dip again. I'd prefer 4 smaller rolls for the same price. Speaking of which, $9.85 for 3 rolls is pretty pricey considering it's mostly vermicelli noodles. I get it, you're in Tysons and your lease is probably $$$. I also got their taro pudding which was even better than my favorite taro pudding spot in Eden so kudos to them! We had a fantastic experience here last week. The touch screen ordering makes selecting your food super easy, and I also really enjoyed the craft soda (a nice change of pace from the usual Coke/Pepsi). I'm no expert on Vietnamese cuisine, but the banh mi and noodle bowls we ordered were both delicious, and the mini spring rolls were the perfect appetizer. My noodle bowl came with some toppings I didn't order. I didn't plan to say anything (it was still tasty), but there was an employee going around asking how everyone's meal was and I mentioned it. He insisted on refunding my money (I didn't ask him to), and I appreciated the extra attention to customer service. As others have mentioned, there's not much seating here, so plan to get your order to go if you can. Went late on Saturday night and the small space was filling up fast. The touch screens were easy to use and everything looked very well put together which was a nice aesthetic change from the usual Vietnamese restaurants. I ordered the vermicelli bowl, the vegetables ingredients tasted very fresh but the noodles seemed like they'd been sitting for a bit. A friend ordered the pho which was served in a tall container, rather than the usual wide, low bowls. The dishware is disposable for easy take out but it's hard mixing everything up in the fairly tall plastic bowls. We were hustled out pretty quickly by other customers who wanted a place to sit which is a pity because the restaurant is really well put together and you'd want to linger and chat for a bit. read more

Nice concept. Food was amazing. Parking is a lil difficult. But they do have a garage. Place gets packed quick. Music a lil too loud to dine in since we have to talk overtop of the music. Good spot for lunch. We loved the young coconut drink. The noodle bowl were huge. Enough to share. Don't care much for the lemon grass beef, was very chewy and lots of fat and bland. This place kept popping up on my instagram and I finally made the trip out there to try it. I absolutely love their banhmi!! I never liked banhmi before, until I tried this place. The ordering system is extremely simple, you just have to go up to a touch screen and press whatever you want to order. It was about a 10 minute wait before my order was ready for pick up (it was a really busy day too). I got the mini egg-rolls, a pork belly egg banhmi and iced coffee. They were all really delicious. The bread was crunchy and ingredients were fresh, just thinking about it makes me want to go back again! The total came out to be around $20. This place is a definite must, if you like Vietnamese food. The only issue I would have, is with the seating. I think they can definitely use their space a little better. Cons: Horrible parking garage, the interior feel very cramped and tight, we had to wait with trays in hand for seats open up to actually eat our lunch, a bit pricey for Vietnamese food and the pork belly bahn mi was too salty/overly sauced. Pros: The touch screen ordering system is easy to use, looks slick, and allows you to customize to your exact preferences. I'd say this is a good gateway to Vietnamese food because they can relate to the fast casual concept and it seems very Americanized to cater to those that aren't terribly adventurous instead of throwing them to the Eden Center. I received a free limeaide for checking in and the loaded noodle bowl (bun) had lots of fresh herbs and some tasty toppings you won't normally get at a more traditional Vietnamese place (mango and julienned red pepper). If I worked or lived near by I'd probably go back at an off peak time or order in advanced for carry out only but I would not plan to eat in the restaurant again. read more

Love the food here and would give this place a five star, but the atmosphere and tight seating ruin it for me. The bahn mi, pho and rolls are Amazing and compare in taste to all the best Vietnamese places out there. They add a little flare to their dishes like adding crunch and mango to their rolls and fried egg in their banh mi. Portions are large and filling, but it's reflected in the price, so this won't be the cheapest place. The only negative thing I have to say is that they have no seating. They have three long tables w thin steel chairs to try to cram people in. People are loud and noisy and messy right next to you. You're crammed elbow to elbow w no room to enjoy your meal. Ordered the banhmi with the five spiced chicken and the coconut water. The chicken was so flavorful and delish and loved the coco water. Got the BF scrape some of the coco meat for me (yays!) I tried a bite of the BF's beef vermicelli noodle bowl. Was good, but had to get back to my chicken sandwich--So good!! Also had a couple bites of the pork belly spring roll. Had the crunchy egg roll skin inside which was a nice touch (made me miss Brodard) and added texture. Will have to go back to try the pho which we saw many ppl order. Heard a lot about this place and today was my first time trying it.It was good, not great. I can say I was satisfied tho. It's not a place I would drive to come eat but I would recommend it for lunch if you're around the tysons area.Parking here sucks tho. There are two major problems with this place: The music was playing way too loud. Some type of dance music. Are we supposed to be dancing while we eat? Most of the tables were dirty. Only a couple of customers and lots of open tables but they all had food crumbs all over them. Even the outside tables were dirty. I can admit when I'm wrong! I reviewed Roll Play soon after it opened in Jan 2016 and never returned... until this month. Now it's one of my favorite places in the area! Five stars to the food, but also five stars for customer service. After I wrote my initial review, one of the owners Tuyet Nhi ("Twitney") replied with the most detailed message I've ever received on Yelp, acknowledging each of my many points and telling me how they plan to take action in addressing the issue. I was so impressed! When I returned this month, I saw that all of my original complaints are no longer applicable. I've tried a number of things now, and love them all -- -- Pork egg rolls: These come out piping hot and are such a delicious treat to share with a friend or two as an app. -- Magnum roll: Originally I thought these were a little small, but that was during the soft opening when I mistakenly got 2 rolls instead of the usual 3. With the full 3-roll order, this actually makes for quite a hefty lunch! No more concerns about portion size here. I love it with the pork belly or lemongrass beef. -- Beef Pho: I didn't have the highest expectations since pho isn't Roll Play's namesake offering, but I was pleasantly surprised! I love the fact that they serve this as a side portion, because honestly sometimes I want Vietnamese but don't want to commit to a whole bowl of pho. I like variety and at Roll Play, you can make this work. -- Banh Mi: Huge, with perfectly crusty bread. I love this with lemongrass beef. -- Ma's Special Fried Rice: I think this was a special item on the menu at the time we went, but we got the side portion and it was so good! My boyfriend's favorite. I've been here 10 times or so and overall had a positive experience. Nothing on their menu is to die for or the best of their kind but everything is consistently good and well made so it's a safe place. Portions are not huge and prices are higher than most Vietnamese places. They do rock that chipotle chic industrial decor and are pretty tech savvy so I guess you are paying for that. read more
