Pretty decent sushi for the prices. They have $3 rolls (spicy tuna, california, etc) and premium rolls at $6 (dragon, lion king, etc) and they have also veggie rolls, soups and fresh squeezed juices. I tried the Lion King, Shrimp Tempura and King Lobster rolls - they were decent, the lobster was my fav. I also had a beet, carrot celery juice which they had forgotten I ordered. The sushi came with miso soup and I also tried the udon miso soup; the udon tasted a little undercooked but I gotta admit, I'm not really an udon expert so I'm basing it off off other udons I've had. I am a regular at RRR, this is the spot where I go to get my sushi fix. Their rolls are great and taste fresh... never had an issue with quality. Rolls are made to order. This place is great. They have affordable and really good combinations for sushis, bowls and temakis. My favourites are the rice bowls woth either tuna or Salmon (it depends on my mood). Highlights: This place is really cozy and there were lots of available seats to choose from. They have a nice thing in the side where you can get as much water as you want and their tempura was as crunchy as ever. They have an assortment of different dishes on the menu wall Lowlights: I might be well seasoned in Japanese cuisine but I felt that their sushi didn't really have any flavor. They had to cover that up with sauces such as sriracha and soy sauce for their food to really have a taste. Their miso soup was free which I should have added to the highlights but it again didn't really have at least that distinct miso flavor. It tasted really watered down. You get what you pay for. Roll Roll Roll kind of rhymes with so-so-so. That's it - everything here is just so so. I stumbled on this place coming home from work one night and it turned out that after 8:30 pm, all the pre-made rolls are buy one get one free. At the time I looked at it as a baby step better than grocery store sushi, which for the price was well worth it. I have been to this place several times and it was ok given the aforementioned deal + FREE Miso soup. However, the last two times I went, the rolls tasted metallic - ughhhh - nasty! I got 4 to go, and had to trash 3 of them because they were definitely off. It really didn't strike me as a surprise because it was cheap and pre-made. Still, no matter what as a restaurant they should be a bit more thorough to make sure their products are ok to serve. After my last 2 experiences, it's clear that the perceived convenience and affordability are definitely not worth it. I'd rather drive farther and spend a bit more for fish I can trust. read more

Let's not kid ourselves here--- r3 is supermarket-grade sushi. It is not Nobu or Takao. Nevertheless, they have very acceptable rolls at very good prices. My man tried this place a few times. He recommended we go. Bad idea. They give free miso soup, but the miso soup is clearly from a quick-prep package. Like instant-miso (akin to ramen noodle packs). Not delicious, just something to drink before you get your sushi. I ordered a Lion King roll and he ordered 2 CA rolls. This is the definition of cheap sushi. If you want decent to good fresh sushi, I recommend you go to Sushi Stop on Sawtelle (I miss it so much). The Lion King was just ok, but did not taste very fresh. The interior is like a cafeteria, which is fitting as I just wanted to eat a lot of rolls and was not looking for any special ambiance. Some of the best rolls in Ktown - great variety, prices are cheap and free miso, YAS! It's a very relaxed atmosphere; you pick up your own order and no trash cans, so it can get messy (but the clean up eventually!) Their prepackaged items are always fresh and there's so many options, (seaweed salad, basic tuna/salmon rolls, tofu stuff, etc.) for those that are in a hurry. Cashier seemed to be nearing the end of her shift; she was on the clueless side -twice she told me they were out of something, both times the sushi chef chimed in and corrected her.
