Amazing flavor and amazing service! 10/10

Amazing flavor! The owner is really sweet and she takes care of your order! I definitely recommend this place!!!

My bf and I wanted something sweet after having lunch next door, so we quickly hopped over to check this spot out. Parking: Every man for themselves. Paid metered parking in front or paid parking garage in the back. Follow the signs to public parking. Complimentary 3 hour parking. $5 + service fees after 3 hours paid via online. Ambiance/Environment: This is the closest Korean convenient store I'll get to lol. It's small inside with no indoor seating and limited outdoor seating. They offer all the popular Korean snacks, drinks, and ramen. Service: Service can definitely improve. My main reason for the 1 star off. My bf ordered at the register, and the cashier either wasn't fully present or just did not pay attention whatsoever. My bf repeated himself 3x after the cashier asked him what size he wanted ... 3x. Throughput took about 7 min after ordering. Drink: We ordered the Coffee Protein Shake. It contains almond milk, protein, banana, coffee, cinnamon, non-fat yogurt, and peanut butter. The consistency wasn't too thick or chalky. The only thing we really tasted was the peanut butter. Every other ingredient was basically invisible. Pricing: It was $11.50 for a 20 oz protein shake. It didn't state how many grams were in the protein shake. Still more than the average price. Overall, the idea is cool if you're wondering what a Korean convenience store is like. Our experience could've been better.

This was the cutest Korean convenient store ! So many ramen options to choose from and they also have other snacks/ drinks. The employee working was friendly and helpful to explain how to make our soups. Parking is tough in this area but there is a garage across the street you can pay for

Stopped by today to grab a drink and so glad I stumbled upon this location. First of all, I thought this was only an instant ramen spot, but found out they serve fresh juice and smoothies! Wasn't in the mood for food, but will definitely get some next time - side note they even have instant noodles for dogs! So cool! Anyways I was greeted by staff and owner upon walking in. They were super welcoming and warm. And definitely helped me choose my drink. Told them I was looking for healthy but delicious and they told me to go with dragons blood. Has pineapple, beets, carrots, ginger and more. I think I finished the whole juice in less than 5 minutes it was that good. Surprised me actually, how good it was. They have plenty of juices, smoothies, açaí to choose from and a whole wall of instant noodles. You can eat outside where there are open seats. And parking is available in the back of the building in the lot or meter parking in the front.

Ok so I go here with my dad Almost every weekend we go so often that some workers even remember us lol. The food is literally so good like this place remind me of a convenience store but in Japan and South Korea , like a mini one . The ambience is honestly amazing . If you want to go somewhere like on a date with friends or ur partner or even ur family it's perfect . It's not just choices of ramen and drinks and ice-cream there is also burritos smoothies and many other things !!! Go check it out youll love it ! Follow me on YouTube I posted about it : @UrfavSophia

Perfect spot for a spontaneous mother-daughter date. Several options of food and drinks. Shelves filled with different ramen options and sides. Customer service was 10/10 explaining the steps on how to prepare our meals for our first experience.

Mango ade in a strawberry ice cup
    Carlo G.

As someone who's familiar with Korean convenience stores, this place was disappointing. My rating only reflects the drinks as I didn't try the food. I got the mango ade in the fruit cup and it was just decent. The total came out to $6 which was expensive for what I got since it was just a bagged drink in an ice cup with some fruit. I could get fresh boba with that money lol. The ice cup was also hard to drink from since it was super frozen and the ice was stuck together. I could barely put my straw in it. It felt like that ice cup has been sitting in the freezer for a long time. I would suggest lowering the prices and trying to make it similar to the ones in Korea. The ice cups in Korea are super easy to use and complement the drink.

Such a great experience! There is a wide variety of soups/stir-fry to choose from. Luckily all the questions we had were answered by all the instructions posted around the shop. But they were still friendly enough to answer any other questions that we had. Will definitely be coming back to try other soups!

Slurp & Sip is a convenience styled ramen bar located in Koreatown. There's a small parking lot out front for the plaza and very limited seating outside only. They have a wide variety of microwaveable ramen and other items like drinks and snacks. There's staff to help you use the hot water machines. Food We each picked out our own ramen to make for about $5. You can also grab some toppings for additional $0.50-$1 per topping. Basically, you're paying around $5-$10 based on your choices. There's a few free toppings which were all out by the time we cooked ours. The staff explained how to use the machines but it was still pretty confusing and you have to watch your bowl as they could melt from the heat. It took about $5 minutes to cook. Honestly, coming here is mostly just for the experience and I'd only recommend if there's a specific brand of noodles you're looking for. Overall | 3.5 The ambiance + service: 4/5 The food: 3/5 The price: $$

The hype brought us here. Our daughter saw this on TikTok and she loves ramen so we decided to give this a try. We went here last Thursday (May 23rd) around 3pm. The wall displayed a wide array of noodles -stew type or ramen type, with different levels of spiciness which was posted on the wall near the entrance door. For the toppings, there were some free ones beside the cooking station, however, the ones that you pay for like kimchi, radish, egg, and the like beside the cashier you have to pay for. After getting the noodles and condiments, you pay at the cashier and cook your personalized ramen (which makes it special). You press 1 for the water to come out at the cooking station and check the timer if you're done. All in all, it was a good experience. However, street parking is challenging and there is no dining inside only a few tables and chairs outdoor.

I've been here twice it's super good and i love the setup. It reminds me of a Korean convince store because you get all the "ingredients" but make it yourself.

Really cool concept if you're looking for how a convenient store in Korea or Japan would look like! Loving the ice cups and the peach tea was actually really good, those pouches never have enough juice I feel but it's still good! The ramen wall was cool, there's definitely ramen that I've never seen in California in here. I appreciate the variety and cooking with the water machines was a fun experience. Easy instructions and free toppings of onion, green onion, jalapeños, lime and lime. Other toppings vary in price and are a little pricy for simple things like a slice of cheese. There's a freezer of cool items to purchase on the side like buldak fried rice; I wish I left stomach to try the Hwachae! Overall I think it's a fun experience, but definitely something you might be able to replicate at home. If it's convenient, it's a fun stop! But given parking difficulty and portions, I probably won't be stopping by too often unless I'm in the area. Shoutout to the employees, polite and helpful. Thank you for a cool experience!

The chashu was disappointing: lean and chewy--more like steak found in pho than the tender pork I expected. The wait for a table was long in the hot sun during lunch. And it's still an inconvenient location to get to in terms of parking--little Tokyo is as busy as ever. We had to share a table with some other, really loud patrons. The air conditioning was broken. I got the fried rice, previously one of my favorite side dishes here, but the Yakimeshi rice was too dry and disappointing. I added garlic and soft boiled egg to my ramen. The garlic flakes were too big/strong and overpowered everything. The egg was good. Since the noodles and broth are the most important parts and were both decent, I'd keep this place at around four stars. But there are a lot of other ramen places to try in the area. Original from years ago: Overtook Daikokuya as my favorite ramen place. I love so much about the place except the wait. And the parking, which doesn't validate as long as it used to. Beef was tender and moist and loved the caramelized onion too. Rice was delicious too, not dry nor mushy. Served with pickled red ginger. A very satisfying bowl. Sat at the bar, so watched them make udon from scratch, which was nice. WAIT LIST There was a line when I got there, just as it opened. It wasn't long, but everyone wrote their name down on a wait list. There's a sheet of paper placed on the table outside. Please write your name down ASAP, as that will help in making sure that you will grab a seat. Also, the lines are disorganized too, so it's best to write down your name, so no one cuts in front of you. It is a small restaurant. Limited seats. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was okay. Everyone got in the restaurant in the order they came in. Service was quick and there were no delays in taking orders. The server came by quickly and dropped off the check as she saw that I was nearly finished with my meal. PARKING Parked at Joe's Autoparks. It was $15! I did not know until after I paid the ticket. Very difficult to find parking in this area, so not many options unless you want to walk really far, back to your car in 90 degree heat. There was another parking garage next to Joe's, but the price was the same! Would I come back again? Not sure. Given that the udon wasn't what I expected, it may be my last time here. Also, parking sucks.

That's the mood that pulled me into Maruya in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. I ordered the chashu tonkotsu, the classic go-to when you want to judge a ramen shop by its bones. And the verdict? It was... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The kind of bowl that doesn't offend you but doesn't linger in your memory either. No standout richness in the broth, no chashu slice that made me pause mid-bite. Just noodles, doing their job. This is actually the second ramen spot I've tried in Little Tokyo, and I'll admit -- I'm starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the neighborhood's ramen scene so far. For a pocket of the city with so much culinary history packed into a few blocks, I expected to be a bit more wowed by now. Two tries in, and I'm still searching for that bowl that stops me in my tracks. What did stand out, though, was the service. The staff at Maruya were genuinely warm and helpful -- attentive without hovering, quick to check in, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to root for the place even when the food doesn't quite deliver. It's the kind of detail that softens an otherwise middling meal. So, Little Tokyo ramen crawl: two down, verdict still out. The people have been great. The noodles? I'm still waiting to be impressed. I actually became aware of the existence of this restaurant *because* they had a happy hour sign out in front, advertising, among other things, $4 salmon poke "tacos" (which was definitely actually a tostada, but still), and $3 nigori sake to go with it, which sounded pretty bomb - when I passed by the sign on my way to an event at Death & Co nearby, I took note of it but wasn't interested in food. However, when I left that event, an event I thought was going to provide a lot more food than it actually did, I absolutely *was* interested in food, and remembered that the sign advertised not only a traditional happy hour (open until 6 weekdays, 2:30-5:30 Saturday/Sunday), but also the same prices during a reverse happy hour (8 to close weekdays, 9 to close on the weekend). Given it was, at that moment, just after 8 on a Wednesday, I knew exactly where I was going to get the second half of my dinner from. Funny enough, I will say, the salmon poke that drew me in, was just... good. Don't get me wrong, if I were offered them for free, I'd eat at *least* a dozen. They were quite tasty - also like 2 bites worth of food (so eating a dozen of them would not be remotely difficult to do.) Salmon poke is wonderful, but if I wanted poke, I'd go find a poke place - even $4 felt a bit pricey for the size (they're $6 when it isn't happy hour), so I'm glad I decided to also try their karaage. Their karaage is BOMB - some of the best I've had, honestly. $7 for a 4-piece order of their karaage, by contrast, feels like a very reasonable price, and $5 (during happy hour) an absolute steal. Great karaage, great sauce, super fulfilling. The happy hour on karaage would be enough of a draw by itself - but separate from that, so would the $3 happy hour on sake, including both a regular house cold sake and a nigori. As you can see from the picture, they also intentionally overpour their sake, which is not only a very pretty presentation, but also an impressive amount of sake for $3 (heck, for DTLA, a pretty impressive amount of sake even at their normal $5 price). They also have $6 happy hour shochu/sake/juice cocktails that looked pretty good, though I didn't try one. Service was great, too - sometimes you can tell a restaurant is less excited to serve someone who clearly just came in for a drink and a snack, but that was not my experience here. Verdict is, I definitely want to come back and try their ramen sometime, but I would definitely make sure to do it either before or after their prime dinner hour, to take advantage of happy hour pricing. (And I would definitely get more of that karaage as a side. I will probably also make a point to do so as a snack, subsequent to any future events I go to in the area that end around 8 on a weekday, as well, for as long as that happy hour remains such a draw, price-wise.)

Food (3/5): Pretty ok ramen! You come to Tsujita Artisan Noodle in Arts District for the Tsukemen…read more Their tsukemen is creamy with deep umami flavor. Their noodles have a bounciness and chewiness that hold the broth you dip your noodles in. I do wish the broth was hotter because the noodles are traditionally served cold. I've come here for their Naruto collaboration and to try their traditional ramen where their noodles come with the broth and it tastes significantly different than their tsukemen which I didn't have a liking to. It was missing some oomph that not only differentiates this ramen from others I've tasted before but also gets people to keep coming. Service (5/5): Quick service! Every time I've been there hasn't been a wait. Price (4/5): To compensate for taste I do think the price needs to be lowered a bit. The tsukemen to me was definitely worth it. Ambiance (4/5): Cute little modern shop. It won't fit many big parties but it is perfect for duos.
