I've been looking for a place that sold rolled I e cream for sooooo long as I would always see it on my feed but I couldn't seem to find a place in LA. So when I came across Rolling Zone, I had to go try it! It's a pretty new establishment, kind of hidden behind the big CVS. There's lots of parking. It's very clean and organized and the staff is also very friendly and there to answer any questions you may have. They have creations for the rolled ice cream, you can create your own, or just get scoops of ice cream. They also have some unique flavors available. The prices vary and if you'd like any extra add ons they charge for that as well. The ice cream is soooooo good, and super filling. Decent ice cream. The wait was a little long for ice cream. To order and read below for pick up nightmare. Biggest issue is they gave us some of the ice cream then put some into a freezer so we stood there waiting with melting ice cream while waiting for our last ice cream to be done. Well finally had to ask where our ice cream was after 5mins and it was done but not give to us with rest of the order. They didn't offer any free ice cream for the inconvenience. BEST ice cream stop in Hawthorne. You get what you pay for, it's a large amount of ice cream, my husband and I always share one. Fresh, good kind service, clean and friendly atmosphere, easy parking, an it's delicious! People are complaining this is a fad. But please understand, most ice cream places, even gelato, is mass produced days, weeks or even months before. You enter, they scoop your ice cream, and your gone in a couple minutes. What you pay for at rolling zone is a customizable frozen sweet that the employees build and make. So your getting a service and in all honesty I just love watching the process. Fresh cream with whatever toppings and flavors freezing over, then rolled, then topped with deliciousness... and the finished product... is always beautifully presented. Honestly, I think these places are overrated and over priced IMO. We paid $25 for 3 cups. They have plenty of signature options as well as customizable options (comes out more expensive for the most part). place is clean, employees could be a bit more friendly and welcoming. I would say this place is a hidden gem in Lawndale. Driving by you probably wouldn't even notice it. The ice cream is delicious. And the whole concept of the rolled ice cream is pretty fun to watch for all ages. They don't skimp on the portions or the toppings! One thing that makes this place a little different is that in addition to the rolled ice cream, they have traditional (scoops in a cup or cone), smoothies and acai bowls. Got the mango one and it was quite good. At over $7 for ice cream, it's a little on the pricy side, but a lot of that probably goes towards the labor that they put into making each creation. It took a little while for them to make mine and then it sat there as they rolled the person after mines too before they put on the toppings, but luckily the ice cream didn't melt while it was just sitting on the counter in the cup waiting. My wife likes non-dairy..and this hits the spot. My choices were a scoop of house made chocolate and vanilla with a peanut butter topping. Great rolled ice cream for whats in the area! It was smart for the owners to make a rolled ice cream shop in the el segundo/hawthorne area as the closest ones are in gardena or la area. Lots of parking available. It's pretty hidden in the CVS plaza (right next to sherwin williams paint). Stopped by on a monday night a little after dinner time and it was empty inside. I got the cookies and cream which was delicious and my bf got the banatella which was good too! It comes with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, the wafer and pocky stick. Your ice cream can easily add up once you start adding toppings, but if you're okay with the ones I just mentioned, you prob don't need to add toppings. My bf and I like this place better than competitors because 1. its much closer to his house than all the other rolled ice cream shops, 2. SO EMPTY. No lines, no having to wait for parking 3. The Rolling Ice thing is dope. It is SOOOOOO good. Tried the Cookie Butter and the Chocolate Explosion, Soo delicious and light. The team allowed us to record video as they made it. It tastes as good as it looks in the photos. The staff is very friendly and wearing masks and gloves. Right when you walk in it's very bright and the employees are nice. Price wise it's around the price of any rolled ice cream place ($7-8). The toppings are pre-set for each flavor, I like to get the banana Nutella. I think the toppings for that one is whipped cream, bananas, and a wafer. Adding any extra toppings is 50c. I think adding that would be helpful for customers. I did also see a handful of misspellings on the menu that bothered me a little, haha. With no one else inside, we were able to sit anywhere we wanted. They have a little bar top with about ten seats, as well as a few tables. I love the turquoise chairs - such a pretty color. I got a crepe with vanilla ice cream, strawberries, caramel, and whipped cream. For my additional toppings, I opted to add bananas and marshmallows. I asked for the marshmallows mixed into the ice cream but for the bananas on top. There was some miscommunication and the bananas got mixed in too, which I didn't care for. I also expected the crepe to be freshly made, but sadly, it wasn't. The crepe was very dry and just didn't taste good.
